how can I build a kernel using the stock kernel + twrp recovery? - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey!
I got a rooted+unlocked Z2 D6503 with Android MM build .575...
at the moment i am using pec0ra`s custom abricot kernel v8.1 which is quite exciting but i only use it for the recovery and the fast_hotplug is a wonderful feature...
can i add the same recovery to the .575 stock kernel and flash it as a flashable zip? i really need a recovery and at the moment the [NUT]DualRecovery doesn`t support android mm pls tell me how I can create a flashable kernel using the stoock one + twrp 3.0.X

I'd love to know this too.

[Q] Flashing kernel without usb port

Hi,
i have xperia mini pro - sk17, with defective usb port (not functional at all (broken pins)). At the moment i have erro rom (05/08/2013) with lupus jb v7 kernel. I know that twrp recovery on my nexus 7 flashes kernel, but i always flashed kernels on xperia devices (x8, mini pro, ray) with flashtool after installation of rom.
Now i want to install another rom and my question are:
- will cwm flash kernel along with rom or not?
- what other roms can you recommend for use with lupus jb v7 kernel in case that new kernel (from roms zip) doesn't get flashed?
- can i flash .zip with only kernel inside (to change kernel after rom installation)?
- are there any other ways to flash kernel without usb?
thanks
no, xperia phone can't flash kernel from recovery.
even if theres kernel in rom zip it won't be flashed.

I thought so, but after searching the forum i was just confused (a lot of people think it can be done - so there is a lot of misinformation).
So i'm stuck now with lupus jb v7 kernel - any good roms this kernel will work with?

kernel can be used on any JB CM BASED JB 4.1 or 4.2,
so maybe use LegacyXperiacm-10.1 or cm-10.2 by mikeioannina

[108 updated]Stock Z Ultra Kernel with Dual Recovery and RIC disabled

Finally, I am making this a Dev project. And because of the internet connection from China to XDA Servers, I might not be able to upload all the previous kernels as fast as you think. I will try my best.
All the kernels are directly repacked from Sony stock kernel, or compiled from Sony kernel source.
It works for all C68xx devices with stock FW.
Features:
Dual Recovery (CWM+TWRP)
Sony_RIC Disabled
You can root your device easily by flashing supersu.zip in recovery
108 kernel Download:http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=7226

Easy HOW-TO flash guide:
Code:
fastboot.exe flash boot 681.img

Disabling RIC allows you to get full root.
just curious, can i use this kernel with .757 fw? thanks!
^^ you want to try and run android 4.4.4 kernel on Android 4.4.2? Unless a fan of bootloops I wouldn't bother (but I may be wrong lol)

Full root? I am running latest firmware, stock, relocked boot loader and rooted. I can change and replace system files. Do I still have partial root?
depends how you rooted, if easyroot then it is full root as that has ric kill too.

Yes.
can someone provide stock kernel with no dual recovery please. thanks in advance
@zaxharu use the ftf - as far as I'm aware no one has bothered making a stock kernel non recovery version (as the ftf is this already)
It looks like X reality is broken
Sry OT @jackie099 et al, are you running the above in the adb path (or not, looks like desktop)

I flashed jackies kernel for root, but now I cant update via Sony Companion
And me being a rookie, what can I do to update it?
This sound bug is really annoying!
Thank you, this helped me get full root, "thank" button hit
Nice day all!

Aroma installer freezes on Z2 with MonxDIFIED and ExistenZ ROM

Hi,
I'm new here and I have an problem flashing a custom rom on my Rooted Z2 (CWM Recovery V6.0.5.0) with aroma installer. Flashing other roms like AOSB, paranoid is working fine.
Can you please help me or any suggestions
Thnx!
Robers
First you have to flash stock sony 4.4.2 fw(.314) with flashtool, root, install recovery then install the existenz rom or the other !
For stock based rom you need to have stock already flashed ""flies awaaaay"

I don't think there is a pre-rooted kernel but we have pre-rooted stock roms for z2 and you can download and flash any kernel that is stock based (like elite kernel) and flash a pre-rooted firmware
