Hey Guys,
just a little question.
Im running a MIUI 7.4 6.5.12 Rom and no matter what game i play, i get lots of crashes
like every 5-10 minutes and im not talking about heavy graphic/hardware intense games.
Now im wondering i can do something about it like trying a non-MIUI rom or something?
Maybe u have a hint for me, this bugs me a lot :/
Especially since my old LG G2 didnt crash a single time with the same games (summoners war, warriors of glory, punch quest etc.)
i play plenty of games on it, haven't had a crash even once though. first of all try to do a clean flash of your firmware.
you can backup and restore your apps with the mi backup feature so you won't lose your data.
i already did that when i got the phone....had a global stable rom on it and i completely replaced all the stuff and started from scratch
I'm having the same issue on my RN3

Do you have a MTK or Qualcomm Snapdragon processor? See in Settings - About phone
I think he has Mediatek version which may have crashes. In Snapdragon version I never faced force close on any heavy games since last 1 year
You cannot flash recovery and rom of Snapdragon variant on Mediatek variant- TheCloudOne
Monkeytown can you try xiaomi.eu roms? I am using it and it works very well with 1.5-1.8 gb free ram available on 3gb ram version

So, I have a major problem, currently I'm on CM12.1, Latest build by lokjianming, but pretty much all of my games are running bad? Like, it's struggling to keep up, although it should easily be able to cope on this modern phone, stuff like Temple run 2 and Osmos HD, they're all stupidly choppy! I need help.

sadly, imo there is no other stable gaming rom than MIUI for redmi note 2 (until now)
just reflash to MIUI, and you wont get disappointed
Unfortunately, very bad optimization of apps and games. The same problem on htc e9 and meizu mx5, they too have mtk6795. We must wait. Someone says "deal with it"
(sorry for my eng plz, i'm ukrainian)
Im running Miui and playing need for speed no limite run fine for me without lags.

but this phone has the power. im gaming fine even with cpu underclocked
its his unstable rom causing problems
Just take it easy, this phone was released 4 months ago, and we have CM builds !! Honestly I never excpect to have them this quick, we just have to wait for developers to deal with MTK and its mistical source code.
This the latest (leak) china rom stable: http://bigota.d.miui.com/V7.1.1.0.LHMCNCK/miui_HMNote2_V7.1.1.0.LHMCNCK_dc250ba711_5.0.zip
Working very very well, fast and smooth, for a moment the best rom i tried (I tried all roms, cm, aosp, miui, international, china, russian...)

I have zero issues with the same cm 12.1. ROM and all heavy 3d games run flawless here. So why do you talk crap about his ROM and it being unstable when it's not? Also it does actually @ludoke have the power of a Mercedes to be honest. Lol. I am very surprised about its "power" tbh.
Try to while your dalvik and cache and see if that helps.
I also DLL the temple run because i dont play it, but it worked fine here. No stuttering or problems so something else must be causing it I reckon.
The only problem I have with games is battery draining but performance is ok. I have 0 lag or fc on bule's CM.
The Helio X10 has a pretty bad gpu. Similar to the old Snapdragon 600 or S4 Pro.
If you want to play games, then get something with the Snapdragon 801 like the infocus m810t. Or the Mi 4c with the Snapdragon 808.
For the next 1 year I need to use this but its the last time I buy a device with miui stock.. I hate the closed source and bad too for mediatek..
Hi,
I just wanted to know how does the mobile compares to the note 5 in terms of customization? I mean is there something like Knox in xiaomi phones which hinders rooting ? are there good custom ROMs that are close to stock as I seeing that many are using cyanogen mod and I don't want to use it.Are there any drawbacks I should know about? and finally, will this device have a good lifetime or will it stop receiving updates after a year or so? and if no then what device would you recommend ? Does it support Qualcomm quick charge ? will I lose the miui features if I use any of the custom roms ?
Here are a few things I like to highlight when people ask if they want to buy this phone
1. The camera SUCKS SO BAD. it gets even WORSE when you use custom ROMS
2. The custom ROMs will always be buggy because XIAOMI does not release the FULL codes/source for us to be able to have non-buggy custom ROMs
3. There are two ways to get updates; a. via stable ROM that gets updated like twice a year and b. Via developer/beta ROM that gets updated every week. You will get updates but XIAOMI is known to not upgrade the android version (like from marshmellow to nougat) but you will get updates just not android version updates.
4. Usually you will lose a few XIAOMI/MIUI features if you use custom ROMs (due to xiaomi not releasing full/complete source code)
5. You will need to ask permission to unlock bootloader and then root (takes around 1 week/3days to get it approved) and the process can be a hit or miss
6. No quickcharge. The Redmi Note 4 takes around 2 hours and 15 minutes from 1% to 100%
IF YOU WANT INSANE BATTERY LIFE get the REDMI NOTE 4X THAT IS BASED ON SNAPDRAGON 625 SOC
IF YOU WANT A LITTLE BIT MORE PERFORMANCE BUT SACRIFICE 50% BATTERY LIFE (COMPARED TO REDMI NOTE 4X) GET THE REDMI NOTE 4 BASED ON THE MTK HELIO X20
THE REDMI NOTE 4 HELIO X20 MTK IS KNOWN TO HAVE SOME HEATING ISSUES. IT CAN LAG IN GAMES DUE TO IT.
THE REDMI NOTE 4X SNAPDRAGON 625 DOES NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE BUT SACRIFICES LIKE 10% PERFORMANCE BUT ALMOST WITH ZERO GAMES LAG DUE TO ITS POWEREFFICIENT PROCESSOR
Hope this has helped you in any way
My opinion: For the price, there is no other better phone than the REDMI NOTE 4X SNAPDRAGON 625 but you will have to live with the bad camera (terrible in low light and indoors, decent in well lit environment) and possibility of not getting android version upgrades
. But you will get a snappy phone with very good battery life (10 hours screen on time form 2 days from 1 full charge).

-There custom roms based on stock miui. Check for Xiaomi.eu
-It does not support quickcharge right now. After kernel sources are released you will get almost qc 2.0(constant 2,5A charge)
-Xiaomi will release android 7 for this device but you will get miui 9-10-11 updates for 3 years.
-Rooting and unlocking is not that hard. No knox or any program to count that.

The Redmi Note 4 in general refers to the Redmi Note 4 MTK that is sold in China
The Redmi Note 4X is the snapdragon Version sold in CHINA
but
In certain countries, like Malaysia, where they dont sell the Redmi Note 4 MTK, the Snapdragon version is called Redmi Note 4. In Hong Kong the snapdragon version is called The Redmi Note 4, too, which makes it a little bit confusing.
@op is you never used miui rom my first advice to you go to Youtube and see miui 8 video some people like miui some hate it personally i hate miui too much so using custom rom.
In custom rom no bug at all just camera is not good compare to stock rom.
Rooting rn4 take apporx 10-15 days.

Check the link below. It explains rn 4 qualcom vs rn 4x
As a summary 4x supports more lte bands. Buy 4x.
http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=524344&extra=page=2&mobile=2
I suggest this device to you because it gives really good value for price.
Custom roms which based on miui is really close to stock rom. Always you have lineage option.
Miui is better on visuality and animations.
Lineage is better on performance. You have theme support as well. You can change visuality(menus, settings, status bar) to sony, samsung or huawei style.
Advantages of being rooted are removing ads, changing cpu freqs for better battery or performance. Double tap to wake, double tap to sleep options available when you are rooted.
Hey all!
I'm very curious. My Honor 5X is unbelievably slow (read: laggy) despite having 2 gigs of RAM and the Snapdragon 616 - which is an octacore chip for God's sake.
I can't even explain how terrible the experience is. Sometimes I can't even pick up calls. Opening system apps like Dialer, contacts etc takes 6-8 seconds - YES, SECONDS - on average. This has been since Day 1.
I attributed the lag to buggy software (Huawei's official ROM) and switched to Lineage OS 14.1 but damn there has been absolutely no improvement.
Many people suggested clearing the cache, removing unused apps (the age old advice for android users) when the phone gets slow but I don't have more than 25 apps (which is restraint on my part), I make sure there's no clutter, wipe the caches regularly but still nothing.
I started blaming the Snapdragon 616 for this when switching to LineageOS didn't work. Didn't let anyone I know buy a phone with Snapdragon's 600 line of SoCs but it just doesn't make sense. My friend's Moto G4 has the Snapdragon 617 and it works fine. Even the Moto Z Play has the Snapdragon 625 and its one of good mid rangers on the market!
Need your opinions on what the problem could be.
Also if anyone here has the Huawei Honor 5X, how has your experience been with this absolute **** excuse for a phone?
I'm on LineageOS 14.1 latest nightly and opening the dialer takes probably 1 or 2 seconds max.
It really feels like your phone has a hardware problem if wiping everything doesn't make it better.
The phone is pretty snappy in day to day use for me, not fast like a Pixel or a OP5 but still pretty damn fast.
I don't have much apps in the background either.
Consider using your warranty to see if the phone is not defective.
I have it and often switch roms. I experience lags but not as severe as yours.
EMUI is laggy, but custom roms works good with this device. Fluid enough as a daily driver. May be your hardware is getting somewhat inefficient. 5x is my first and last buy from huwaei.

Default setting of that is 1x. There should be no problems with that.
The 617 and 625 are more superior to 616. However, try to factory reset, if it's still the same, ask for a replacement immediately if you have warranty.

Yes only if you are accessing files that are stored on SD card.
A lower class SD card will generally have slow write/read speeds.

Talking about lag, why would you even be on stock EMUI ROM on honor 5x? EMUI is a heavy skin for a low end SD 616 CPU.
The only way to get rid of those lags is to install a custom ROM. Period.

How about removing the sd card and test for sometimes. If it makes any difference then you got the root cause. If it doesn't then something on your firmware causing which you can test further with installing custom rom, crdroid, aosp based, slim rom, aokp etc

Hi there,
Although i'm using Mi Mix, not RN5 and such, but i'll share my experience.
It happened to me when i'm using MIUI ROM that build date higher than 02 August.
When i'm using ROM that build date lower than that, everything is good.
I have the 6, 64gb variant of the poco f1. Earlier It was running pubg buttery smooth on smooth and extreme settings, but now it lags a lot.
It is not unplayable but it bothers me because i've seen how good this device can perform and now this lag.
Is anybody else facing the same issue?
Can this issue be resolved?
I've tried uninstalling the app, didn't work.

Yes mate happening in my poco 6/64 variant too
Most likely thermal throttling
Have you tried using the gfxtool app to adjust the graphics settings, playing for longer periods will lead to thermal throttling as mentioned previously. Lowering the graphics settings even slightly and disabling shadows etc. Will help to decrease the load on the processor and thus keep the fps stable. Kill all running background applications before launching gfxtool/pubg. Also make sure to remove any protective case whilst playing to help keep the phone cool and most importantly give your phone a break every now in awhile after all it is just that.... a phone.
Hi Bro, you should unlock bootloader => install TWRP => install custom roms to use (pixel, Lineageos, EU rom)
I fell so good and improve so clearly if we use custom roms (I think pixel experience is the best)
It is the thermal throttling.
You have to unlock your phone to get a workaround.

a stupid game update
after all i think pubg is not yet fully optimzed for mobiles
it has many bugs/ glitches
& with developers adding more features without investigating optimization issue it will lag more & more
*** if u didn't do it already, go to login page and click REPAIR it will erase some data & redownload them.. hope this helps.

Yeah that's the point, so revert back to previous miui
I am on beta rom miui 10 9.3.28, one thing is for sure the framedrops are because of thermal throttling, when my phone is cool and i start playing the game for the first 15 minutes or so it runs super smooth, after that the framedrops starts, it is very annoying, i have tried everything from gfx tool , removing phone case, not charging while playing. I haven't played around with the thermal configs yet someone posted here on xda, i have bought this phone only for pubg, Does someone have the perfect work around for the issue? Buying another phone is not an option

Pubg is laging in all phones not only in poco F1 it's pubg server issue change the server in pubg and have a try... I too faced but now I am playing pubg butter smooth
I have been facing lag on PUBG mainly while driving a vehicle. I thought it was happening due to using miui beta (open) rom. But I see even stable users and custom rom users are also facing occasional lags. Infact I was going through reddit and I saw people using Galaxy S10/ OnePlus 6T complaining the same. So I think there must be something wrong with the game only.

Lol. Changing the server to a different region may end up with high pings and more lags.

Everyone thinks the same way buddy. We think other devices run the game without lag. Other device users think our device runs the game without lag. The main problem is, PUBG is still not well optimised for smartphones (atleast for Android).
