Help! My moto e front glass broken! please reply! - Moto E Accessories

One hour ago, I accidentally broke my moto e gorilla glass! The touch is working fine, but the glass is shattered, my phone is already out of warranty and is rooted! Is there any way to change the gorilla glass? How much it will cost me just to change the front panel? I saw the front panel on this site > https://www.parts4repair.com/front-glass-for-motorola-moto-e-xt1021-black/ is it good? Should I repair it from local shop or give it to service centre? I know they cost 2500+ for replacement of glass and display, but I have only my front glass broken, the display digitizer is working fine! Should I buy the above glass and fix it on my own? I think I can fix it as I'm a electronics engineering student lol! Or should I give it service centre, I really don't wanna pay 2500+ for my 2 year old 7,000rs phone!

Do not buy just the glass. I am 100% experienced regarding this thing. I have replaced my display assembly two times. I know very well about the structure of the display assembly. Firstly the glass, digitizer and the LCD are BONDED together. If you attempt separating them, you'll literally f**k up the LCD and digitizer. Even local shops won't be able to do it. It can only be done in the factory using automated machines which actually manufacture the display assembly.
Service center: NO. Don't go there. They will charge you nearly the price of a new phone!
Now you have two options. Either buy the display assembly (glass+digitizer+LCD) from here: http://www.ebay.in/itm/LCD-Display-...T1022-Black-/252415179667?hash=item3ac51dfb93
or
Buy the display assembly along with the side frame from here: http://www.ebay.in/itm/LCD-Display-...T1022-Black-/252415182326?hash=item3ac51e05f6
The display assembly is glued to the sideframe with a super strong adhesive. You can't separate the display from the frame without using a heat gun to melt the glue. If you do this, you'll also melt the sideframe and chrome grills partially, which will further f**k up the look of the phone. This is a really tough job so I would say don't do this or get this done (I already have got this done the first time I had to get a new display). Then you will have to fix the new display with special adhesive or double sided tape which is a very unclean job.
Now you are left with the option to buy display assembly along with frame. This is your best bet but the costliest option. You get the entire front half of your phone which is easy to replace. No need of gluing or ungluing anything. Just unscrew and screw in the new front half of the phone.
The links I gave above are from a highly trusted seller which sells 100% original product. I bought from them. They are selling 100% genuine product and the product I received is same as original.
When I had got the display replaced the 1st time, I got it done from a local shop (it was without frame) and the display was fine but not really as good as original and it was not gorilla glass. I used to miss the original so much.
Then 2nd time I bought from this seller, finally got back the original moto display! So buy without giving a second thought. Trust me.
I got it on 20% discount but that promotion has ended. You can use code EBAYHIKE06 for 6% discount.

Housing replacement

Hi
I have some doubts, I want to replace all the chase of my HD2 and searching I see this
http://cgi.ebay.es/HTC-TOUCH-HD-T82...wItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item3c9dbac865
Well, I see one thing that makes me doubt.
COVER US?
This over is only valid for the HD that sells on US or are the same for all the world and will be valid for my European HD?
thanks!
I have purchase from these guys and the products are good. The one problem you'll have is replacing the screen cover. The screen is basically sealed to the front chasse and you most likely will break it removing it. And, if you don't, then the digitizer is really sensitve and that will be damaged.
kersh have you received your unit?
I've bought my casing replacement here
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260344301669
and it fits like a charm

this is not true (see thread on replacing the lcd screen). There are some holes in the chassis which are - in my opinion - indeed designed to push out the lcd without destroying it. Of course, if you're clumsy you will break it - but this is true anyway and if you feel you are - go directly to a repair service and you'll save money.

100% original genuine HTC Touch screen and not a clone, where????

Guys I'm looking for a real original htc touch screen, till now I've found only clones. I tried them 2 times, and differently than the original one, when I dropped the phone with the clones 2 times on 2 I immediately broke the touch screen. Instead when I dropped the phone with the original one I had no problem at all.
The clones just suck...
Do you know where to find the real original touch screen?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GENUINE-HTC-T...UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item2eb0678ba3
supplied me genuine lcds & digitizers for a variaty of HTC & Nokia devices.
Big part with final result on Diamond 2 is correct bonding of digitizer, non solid setting adhesive should be used & full bonding around the edges must be achieved.
Solid setting adhesives transfer shock without any absorbtion & non bonded areas flex & resonate causing potential fracture points.
Of course ****e quality chinese copy parts play a big roll in problem repairs too ...
Actually I bought exactly the new touch screen from that seller. And that touch screen wasn't the original though.
You can see that it's not an original one looking at the zoom bar. It's shorter that the origial one. The genuine one gose from edge to edge, instead the clone one is smaller. And the overall colour is different. I can post pictures of both original one and clone one.
Anyway what do you mean by solid setting adeseive??
Just put in a PayPal claim for non delivery & get your money back. recently got LCD & digitixer for 2 Diamond repairs, both parts were original. If sent you copies do them over, get your money back & give them some nasty feed back.
No hard solid adhesives should be used, needs to be soft rubber type glue to help absorb & stop shock loads transfering to digitizer.
Ok here is a picture where you can see the difference between the original and the one bought from that seller. Is yours similar to the one marked original or to the one marked clone?
http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/2456/touchscreen.jpg
One marked original, markings are light & the - & + icons run almost in-line with edges of screen.
Also back lighting bleeds through too much on cheap copy digitizers.
They supplied you a non genuine part so screw them over big time.
I live in Asia & by my digitizers & LCDs from UK as all our local parts suppliers sell china spare parts of supposing different quality pending on how much you are willing to pay ! Quality of almost all chinese digitizers & LCDs are simply ****e & not worth the postage stamp & do nothing but pollute the environment with manufacturing waste & a product that is waste as soon as removed from packaging.
Sorry to thread hi-jack but iv'e been looking for this answer everywhere and everywhere says what type of adhesive to use but no one gives a specific make-brand or link to buy any .
I was looking at buying a full case from the same seller as my phones current case is looking a little worn out and although the digitizer is perfect and is falling out i dare say when i try to get it off it will smash into a million little pieces so i'll order the full set. But my question remains what is the best type of glue to use who makes it and where can i get it from?
Oh and would be handy to hear if you have any tips or experiences using it.
Thanks
Digitizers, don't buy here, go there!
I too ordered 2 digitizers from E-cell; both were fakes!! They won't go into any discussion with me, they just told me to send them back. They KNOW that is crap there selling and advertise it as genuine...
BE AWARE DON'T BUY THERE, IT IS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.
Yesterday 2 new digitizers arrived. I ordered them on ebay at:
Service Parts UK
Sarfraz Arif

They work perfectly, this guy has 100% positive feedback on ebay. So if you want a good replacement, try it.
Digitizer glued to LCD?
I contacted a repair man and told me it's a waste of time buying replacement digitizer as the orginal is stuck onto the LCD and you risk damaging the LCD if you attempt to remove it.
Is this true or is he scaring me off in doing the job myself.
Also I read that you need adhesive tape is this true?
If refering to Diamond2, LCD is not bonded any any way to digitizer.
Digitizer is bonded to alloy front chassis only.
This is one of the easiest HTC models to strip & repair, LCD or digitizer can be fitted individually no question.
If you take care with disembly & be gentle with all ribbons it will be simple.
some common sense & previous experience comes in handy de-bonding & rebonding digitizer but its far from scary.
Adhesive tape is not the best option but perhaps the simplest.
I used a tiger brand u30 adhesive, black in colour & sets rubbery so act as a good shock absorber. advantage of adhesive bonding is better full radius bonding resulting in a more shock & direct impact resistant digitizer.

I have replaced mine 4 times. Used 3m black rubbery adhesive tape.
If you where my neighbour i would have changed it for faster than you could drink a cup of coffee
It's a bit tricky to find god digitizers on Ebay.
This is one of the best I bought. The backside should look like the one in this auction.
There's allot of rubbish digitizers on ebay.

Where do you buy this tiger brand u30 black adhesive? I googled it and found no results.
Also if I ever needed to replace the digitizer again will it be easy to remove if it had u30 adhesive on it?.

I bought this Touch Screen Digitizer For HTC Touch Diamond 2 II T5353 and waiting for it to arrive. It was the only one I could find within my own local ebay listing that looks to have the right full length zoom guide at the bottom. Come over for a cuppa.

Fortune IT hardware shop BKK. No done a second replacement yet but tested adhesive prior to using it for assembly & it should be quite easy to clean to about 90%.
Tape is the simplest but varies in adhesive strength & can result in digitizer being not flush fitting & not evenly bonded resulting in easy failure with impact loads.
Also most people who use tape end up doing second replacement.

[Q] Moto E Broken Screen Issue [India]

There is no visible damage or crack appears on my moto e. But when I power on the device, whole display is garbled/distorted . And a black patch appears which looks like a crack on lcd. Whole touch is working fine.....display is fine except that patch....but display is not stable or you can say garbled (I'll post the pic/video of display tomorrow).
I have heard the news that motorola will fix broken screen issues free of cost for moto e,g & x in a one time scenario. I went to service centre, it denied for the offer and provided me an estimate of Rs.3000 for whole display.
So please now help mein findgin out that whether motorola is fixing broken screen issues free of cost in India or not ? And I have to buy new display assembly then Do I need to buy whole 3 components - glass, lcd, digitizer ? Also on this forum only I have found that some guys get replaced whole assembly from motorola authorized service centre in just Rs.2000 , then why service centre located in my area (Jaipur).....is asking me Rs.3000 .
Please suggest in this matter.
Please someone comment on this issue

I have the same problem, but in my case my glass got broken by an accident fall. My mobile working us usual, only the thing the glass got cracked. I went to an authorized service center in Trivandrum, they ask Rs 4000 to change the whole assembly. They told earlier the price is Rs 2000 only and now motorola revised the price. Now I am using the phone with cracked glass. Now my screen protector is supporting the glass, If I remove the scratch guard, then the glass will fall.

I know that feel. My S4 Mini was dropped and the top screen shattered but the touch was working fine. Went to a samsung service center and they told it would cost 5000 or something. got pissed off and went to a local market and fixed it for 1500 but he dint fix it properly. Now only half the screen works. Its pissing off that the amount we must pay for screen repair is too high and in your case almost the price of a new phone itself.
guyz mine moto e's glass is alright but display got broken. and device is not tuning on. and i can see crack on the display what should i do now.

Need help with screen replacement for VS985

Well finally broke my screen on my G3.. only appears that i broke the glass and not lcd/digitzer but from what I'm reading it's all sealed and not worth my time to try to separate?
I found this site that has LCD Screen and Digitizer Assembly with Front Housing (No Small Parts) for $89 which doesn't seem horrible. Just not sure what they mean by no small parts, I'm assuming they're referring to the cameras and motherboards.. Can anyone verify this is my best route? New to fixing phones, worked on plenty of small electronics just not a phone but I'm not near an upgrade and actually like this phone so replacing isn't an option.
Thanks for any help.. the broken section is causing my phone to do some wild things. =o/

No, do not waste your time attempting to separate the glass from the LCD, you WILL break the LCD.
You would come out a little bit cheaper ordering the glass and LCD assembly alone BUT it can be kind of a hassle sticking that part down.
Ordering it with the frame/housing is 100% how I recommend going about the screen repair for a G3 since it comes glued to the frame/housing... it's less of a hassle you'd have to worry about. Just transfer all of the internals to the new frame and you're golden.
However, I will recommend that you order the screen from the link I provided below... as the warranty on this screen will be good for 1 year, plus it's even a little cheaper. They are just currently back ordered until the 7th, but it's well worth it for a 1 year warranty.
Good luck.

Cracked glass repair

I dropped my tablet and cracked the glass on the display. Besides the crack in the outer glass, the display and touch input both work just fine.
I've noticed replacement glass on Amazon for about twenty bucks. A local repair place says that doesn't do the job; the display needs to go to a place that can refurbish the display and laminate new glass, at a cost of about $175 USD, with another $110 for the shop to remove and replace the display.
Is this legit? If it really is that complicated, does anybody know of a reliable shop that will just do the whole job my mail, hopefully for less money?
Thanks.

Your better of selling the tablet and taking the hit and pick up a new one, as it's a huge job replacing the glass only!
Also, the screens alone are £300+ and you can't get any local shop to replace the glass only, as you need specialist tools it's no small task but if you’re looking to repair it, the quote you been quoted is pretty fair!
I know it’s too late but why on earth didn’t you purchase a case for your tablet? I’ve got the supcase on my Tab S6 LTE amount of times mine has gone flying across the room I would have had a shattered display and shattered rear glass but thanks to the case not a mark or crack!

Sorry for you. In case it is only a single crack - have you thought of only putting a protective glass above it? That way it is sealed and might be less visible. Maybe you want to share a picture.

The crack is almost invisible and I can't even feel it, but it's annoying that it happened. A local repair shop is sending the screen in for refurbishing when they have several orders lined up.
Sent from my SM-T867U using Tapatalk
UPDATE: Sending it directly to Samsung turned out to be the best option. It was a total of $280, including an upgrade to two day shipping.
I dropped it off at UPS on Friday, it was received on Tuesday, and I got a notice that the repair was completed today (Thursday, Christmas Eve). Even with holiday delays, I should have it early next week.
At that rate, it's about the same price as a year of carrier insurance + deductible.
