I am currently using the latest build of Purity ROM. I couldn't see the flashlight shortcut under quick settings. How can I add it?

Hi
I instaled cm 10.1 on my hox+. earlyer i had cm 10 and with this firmware i had a app called flashlight. in the newer version (cm10.1) there is no app with that i can use the led as a flashlight. i tryed to dowload a app from play store there are a lot but i dosen't work. my phone says ever flashlight on also in the notificationbar but my flashlight is ever off. has somebody a solution or how can i use my led as a flashlight? in camera app led works perfect
If you are running CM then look for torch. It is the built in flashlight app

I know that there are ROMs for this phone that have the feature. But why doesn't the official CM have it? I know it is disabled on some ROMs when the software keys are disabled, but when you enable them, the settings for PIE controls should appear. But in the official ROM, they don't when you enable them by adding "qemu.hw.mainkeys" with the value of zero (0). The Avatar ROM does, but why not official CM? anyone willing to do the mod?

You can try this, it works on a lot of devices.

[APP] LMT Launcher v1.99 for GNex/Nexus4/Nexus7/GSIII/HD2 and more... (ROOT)
this will work on any CM10.1 rom or based rom for the Inc 4g LTE
ok so here's why pie isnt showing up on our phones. we have captive buttons so they turned the pic control off by default. to get it back you'll need to do some things:
first
you will need to edit your build.prop and add this line
Code:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
second
you will need to turn on "expanded desktop" you can do this by going to settings > system > expanded desktop
once you have that reboot the phone.
then go back into settings > system and at the bottom you will see pie options and nav bar options.
let me know if you need any more help
Since the PIE controls currently duplicate our always available capacitive keys, I'm not sure I see the use. Perhaps if more options than home, back, recent/menu become available it will be worth enabling.
its good to use if the captive buttons don't work anymore. during the rezound days mine stopped responding and i had to use the pie controls. later found out that was the start to the end of my touch screen but it was great when you have no other options.
On the Official nightly, i cant seem to get it to come up. And, yeah, my home button currently doesn't work. That is why I ask. I have to use the back button.
--
Edit: here is what we have on OFFICIAL CM. Do I have to switch to something like Avatar? I know it has it when you enable the NavBar. It doesn't show anything about PIE controls. Only about the NavBar and quick shortcuts that go with the NavBar.

Do u plan a N7100 build?
Looks amazing. Can't wait to try.
After install you get a text to speech force close but after setup it goes and this ROM is working amazing. Thank you so much, been waiting for a ROM like this.
Will test for a few days and let you know how it goes.

Of course, when I get home my internet service provider is having maintenance and they've disconnected the internet for the whole suburb lol
Installed and running quite nicely. Best of all worlds? Thanks very much for the effort to provide this!
Battery life is the problem. I've lost 60% in 3 hours with no usage at all. Screen off.

I'm hoping that when the ROM has settled in so does the battery performance. Will test over the next couple of days

Anyone got any feedback on sound. Incall sound as well as speaker sound. Using Rootbox I had very low sound. Only the NEAK kernel and mods fixed it. I just wanted to know if here the sound is also low. Thanks.

Having difficulty with expanding notification and stays bar. Also have issue with turning on Accessibility settings for one of my app (only succeed after a few reboots). It seems that I always encounter this issue with RB embedded roms.

Thank you for a really nice ROM! Very good options to configure the ROM to whatever one wants it to look and behave.
I haven't been going through the settings so much today, but here's some minor issues I found:
Settings/Themes: It is no difference between choosing MIUI or MIUI Dark. I suppose MIUI should have "normal" MIUI white background, but instead it is dark grey.
MIUI launcher settings: When setting a ringtone the popup says "Ringtong set successfully", it should be "Ringtone"
I will enjoy this smooth ROM a lot, and go through all the settings and really customize it Thank you!
Hi there,
has anyone managed to change the lockscreen wallpaper with the help of GravityBox (the xposed module), because I simply can't. I can change the lockscreen through the settings (Personalization) but no matter what I choose in GravityBox it doesn't change a thing.
Any ideas?
Gravity box is for AOSP not OEM roms, it wont work or will work for things that arent alike AOSP
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Huh, somebody here said that there is no longer any need for AOSP since most of the tweaks can be achieved with gravitybox. Since there is no daily driver yet I thought as give it a shot. Thanks for the Info.
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I worded that weirdly
It gravity box does work but non aosp things dont work like the lockscreen features (some work) but this is because the lockscreen is external from the framework(for example)

Was wondering if there is any app, xposed module or any other way in which I could prevent an app from being killed in any aosp or cm rom. Something like in the miui ROM, where I just need to swipe down the app in the recent app window to lock it and prevent it from being killed, would be great. Such a feature would be useful.

if you are using any custom rom which support slim recents it has the option to lock the app
Didn't know that. Will check it out
Edit1: using slim recent on resurrection remix ROM. Can't seem to figure out by what gesture can I lock the app. Just shows 2 options when I long press on app icon in slim recent: floating mode and app info. Swiping the app icon left or right kills it.
Found an app in play store which prevents the app from being killed, MEMORY LOCKER. Will try it out and report in some time.
