my fe170cg(k012) was soft bricked..so i downgraded it to v4.3,then I download update files from asus website and updated firmware to 4.4 manuelli In the following
I kept update it to v.5 with ota this time after downloading completed My tab restart to install firmware but it takes much time & i was scared so i turned of tab during installing new firmware & then turned it on & firmware was installed,,
but problem start here,I cant connet my tab to pc via usb(MTP OR SYNC)..i tried pc link also installing usb drivers & adbs manuelli but pc cant even recognize it also i tried 2 other pc but the same.
Its a problem for many users but not solved...please help me I'M FROM IRAN and the asus official service center is weak alitle HERE SO i got to sent it to capital about 2000km away

PHONE:KE2
CSC:KE2(INU) Indian version
new update has
PDA:KE3
PHONE:KE4
CSC:KE3(INU)
but when download complete via kies , it not abe to update as it says failed to convert in upgrade mode. any one having same issue? any one has here offcial indian version upgrade ? please provide me link for offcial rom for this update.
i have the same problem
first go to the firewall and make kies connect to net
and when you start kies start as administration "right click and run as administration"
or you can update through odin.

You need to make sure that usb debugging is off. That being said, Kies sucks big time. If you want to use Kies try the wireless version seems to be a bit better.
There's a update to Kies available. I went to use it last night & a big update came through ?
Phone not syncing to kies in the 1st place!!
My phone doesn't want to connect to kies, it's written connected on the phone but still gives the connecting to device msg on kies on the PC, kept waiting and waiting, but nothing!
I tried with usb debugging method, the storage medium could be read. But no way with Kies!!!
What's wrong?? Please advice me what to do?

As has been suggested try the wireless version also make sure the phone is connected before you open Kies.
Is there some setting in your phone preventing Kies from connecting.
I've only got my S2 a few days so I'm not really into it yet.
I find that Kies is very very slow in connecting.Seems to take forever but it was quite fast over Bluetooth.
I'm also havin same problem but in my case I cant upgrade firmware via Wifi...
Actually I lost my data cable (though ordered a new one today) but yesterdar a new version of kies came and when connected via wifi ... the upgrade firmware window popped up...
but when I tried upgrading it downloaded some components (Preparing firmware ...) and then on my phone I saw tht its already disconnected n after a few sec an error came up (in kies) saying "FirmwareUpdate has stopped working" .... Interestingly kies application keeps running after this error but disconnected... I've google a lot on this but no luck (I thnk most of d ppl pref to upgrade it via usb and not wifi) ...
Also tried reinstalling kies and "factory reset" phone but no avail.
Plz help as i deadly need this upgrade (as my battery's draining very heavily on wifi.. may be this upgrade improves smthng... )

i connect to pc, i click update then it starts updating after the update is downloaded... it shows phone is updating then my phone switches off and it shows green light indication and
on my laptop it shows found new hardware SEMC FLASH DEVICE and after 2 secs my laptop hangs...

i tried 2 to 3 times the same thing happened all the time.
can any please tell what is the problem here..
i also reset the phone and tried but not able to solve the problem.

Did you follow the instructions for the update process? What program are you using to update your phone? I suggest you use SUS (sony update service, download it from the official website here http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/
The phone should be turned off. Follow carefully the instructions the program will give you.
Than report back if you have any other issue.

I've flashed 4.0.4 on top of 4.0.3 without any issues

Is your laptop running on Windows XP? Because I am facing the same problem as well, so what I did, is run the update on Windows 7 PC.
Maybe you should try that

I download Sony update software and tried I still had the same problem so..
I formatted my laptop re- installed drives and then tried to update now there was no problem... now my x- ray is running on android 4.0.4

I am also having a problem when I am trying to update my phone to the
pda:lp7 phone:lpa csc:lp9 version of the firmware.
I am using Kies 2.3.2.12064_9.... when i connect the usb the screen on my phone become unreactive and when i try to update the firmware.. it shows that the updater is not responding...
please help me out...i hve tried it many times but i am nt able to succeed in updating the firmware..

Hello,
I got a problem with my device Galaxy tab 2 10.1 GT-P5113 . it downloads the new firmware, reboots but fails to install the firmware and a massage pops up suggesting to update using Kies.
I used Kies several times, it detects the device, connects to it, downloads the firmware and then device gets disconnected while Kies try to install the update but obviously it does not do it because the device is disconnected. .
Tried several things, uninstalling Kies completely, re installing,, reset device to factory and tried again but nothing worked.
Can someone help me please???

I have an ASUS Fonepad 7 K012 (FE7010CG) and I mistakenly flashed an official ASUS firmware for the FE170CG
After this, the tablet won't boot and is only showing the USB logo with a red / white bar below it. If I try to connect it to my (Windows 8.1) computer, it tries to connect (keep hearing the connecting/disconnecting) sounds all the time) and only recognizes a "CLOVERVIEW" device for which no drivers are found, but it also does not remain connected, it just keeps appearing and disappearing from the device manager...
I have found some posts about getting out of this, but none for this device and only when the device actually remains connected... On top of this, I now looked in ASUS for a correct firmware, and none is available for this model
Is there any hope of doing something myself or will I have to send it for a (costly?) repair?

same problem here bro, i downloaded firmware from asus site, but found out that the problem was the firmware itself coz i tried to extract rar file and it has many errors upon extracting the firmware, hope somebody will find a solution....
