You might not want to use the latest build from greekdragon because it has issues with FCs. Use the latest kernel.

The last stable build I used was the 20160214 build from greekdragon.
You should be able to find it using the XDA search function (not linked in the OP).

If coming from 5.1.1 Du v9.8 on TWRP 2.8.7.0
1. flash CWM 6.0.5.3_1 (right from TWRP) and reboot to new recovery
2. flash SlimKernel-i9100-20140623
3. flash Kernel_Dorimanx-V10.50v001
4. wipe data, cache, system
5. flash SlimSaber-i9100-4.4.4-20160214
6. flash open_gapps-arm-4.4-pico-20160624
Am I right or did I forgot about something?

1. You don't need to flash old CWM.
2. You should always use the latest kernel build. v006 is the one you want.
3. You don't need to flash SlimKernel
4. If you followed your steps, you will end up with in-built kernel from slimsaber and not dori kernel!
So it should look like this:
1. wipe data, cache, system
2. flash SlimSaber-i9100-4.4.4-20160214
3. flash open_gapps-arm-4.4-pico-20160624
4. flash DorimanX V10.50 v006 UBER.
5. reboot.

Hi! Your latest dorimanx kernel for kitkat with linaro build is Version b009 released on 2017 where as with uber toolchain version is b007 released on 2016. You have already recommended uber, however linaro build is latest. Which one I shoud use?
Further, after installing Greekdragon 19052016 build for kitkat 4.4.4 or 21102015 of slimsaber build with latest Open Gaps as on 15.08.2017 , my s2 does not go into deep sleep. I have noticed that Google play services keeps on running which awake my device at 200Mhz. Would you please suggest some fix. Earlier I was on RR Nougat.

Always use latest build. Back then I liked using UBER, but gave users an option to use Linaro. Now I only use Linaro because there is less variables to deal with especially when diagnosing problems.

No, without your kernel. Using your kernel wifi is not working....

Saber...I am great fan of yours as you have consistently come up with some great developments for android whether it's kernel or Roms.Would u give me some suggestion on whether I should stick to slimsaber KitKat 4.4.4 or other KitKat rom like the latest lineage os 13 with latest security updates or I should go for Nougat with your Kernel installed. Which stable nougat romu suggest that could be used with or without your kernel. PLS.....suggest.

Hi,
I've pretty much been out of the loop in terms of Lineage/Nougat ROMs, so my assistance there is limited. If you need the customisation, stick with slimsaber. Yes it will be outdated, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Meanwhile, LineageOS 13 is a good choice if you need balance between performance, battery, and updates. Nougat however I would imagine is a little heavier on battery, but there are improvements in terms of notifications and in-built CPU scaling that S2 users can benefit from.
TL;DR: If you like what you have with slimsaber stick with it. Otherwise, LineageOS 13 is a excellent middle ground in terms of a great daily driver ROM. If you like the bleeding edge, you might enjoy Nougat.

Porting a new linux kernel to a device is not simple. It brings a lot of stability issues if the kernel version is too new, and so most developers stick with a LTS release such as v3.4.104. Most s2 kernels are at kernel version 3.0.101 because it is found to be stable, and so they stick with the mentality that 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'.

1. Some pros of updating Linux kernel could include increased speed and security (since 3.0.101 kernels are not updated anymore) .
2. I guess you didn't see my Sig? Noppy already linked my dorimanx lp kernel thread. Yes, it works perfectly with cm12.1, however doesn't work yet on other roms like paranoid android and slimlp.

[Kernel][COS13.x][COS12.1][Stock COS Kernel with Hardboot/Multirom support]

Here is a kernel for stock Cyanogen OS13.x/13.0/12.1 with hardboot support (To use the stock Rom as primary Rom in Multirom)
Code:
Use my kernel only if you are sure about the risks of flashing custom Roms/Kernel to your device. I'm is not responsible for any damage caused by using one of my files.
I have attached 2 file types.
The .img files to flash it with fastboot or an kernel flasher app.
The .zip files to flash it with a custom recovery
The COS13.0 ZNH0EAS26M kernel will also work on COS13.0 ZNH0EAS2JK
The COS13.1.1 ZNH2KAS2X1 kernel will also work on COS13.1.2 ZNH2KAS3P0

Currently I will not add more features to the kernel because the stock kernel without any more features is currently working very fast and stable

[ROM]CM-13.0 Stable [ZNH2K/ZNH5Y] [Uber Toolchains 4.9.4][Bacon]

UPDATE: BUILDING BOTH ZNH2K/ZNH5Y.This ROM is for people using CM nightlies and snapshot builds. There are no features added or removed. It is pure CM. The ROM source is from the ZNH2K/ZNH5Y stable branch. ZNH2K/ZNH5Y is behind the nightlies and ahead of snapshot source. The ZNH5Y branch is newer code than ZNH2K but both are CM stable branches. Everything just works. The kernel is synced from nightly source. I build both ROM and kernel using Uber Toolchain 4.9.4 for smoothness and its optimizations over the stock toolchains. There is nothing fancy going on here. Just a solid CM build with great battery for the OnePlus One. I build this for my personal use and thought there might be some other users that would enjoy it. I will also say I am new to this and still learning. I test every build myself before release. If someone encounters a bug I didn't find chances are it comes from CM and will be fixed when they fix it.
DO NOT DIRTY FLASH FROM ZNH5Y TO ZNH2K. DIRTY FLASH FROM ZNH2K TO ZNH5Y IS FINE.

You can't disable it with CyanogenMod. Some roms have added the feature to disable. It always shows if you have a root app open.

Thanks for the consideration. I do agree with you ROM being as close to CM. But things like superuser indicator and network activity indicators force us to use xposed which makes the ROM unstable. If u could add them we can avoid xposed.
Just a suggestion, u can add useful features like disable fc, network activity indicators, disable su indicator which helps lot of users avoid using xposed.
@Brian325
Force close when trying to restrict data and WiFi usage for system apps. Nightlies don't have this . They have pushed a commit to hide these settings for system. If possible please add it.
Rest all perfect..

[ROM][7.1][UBER][UNOFFICIAL] LineageOS 14.1 [27.02.2017]

This is LineageOS, the successor of CyanogenMod. It's compiled using the (also selfcompiled) uber toolchain and using official sources.
One thing though: I'm not a developer. I just recompiled the ROM. So if someone finds a bug and has an idea how to fix it, please tell me.

If something important changes, I'll put a changelog up here. If there is no changelog, you can have a look at https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_oneplus_oneplus2/commits/cm-14.1
20170208:
Cleared my build directory this time, so no inbuilt root anymore. SuperSU works like a charme (but you can also use LineageOS root zip, go get it from their website if you want it).
20170202:
I never cleared my build directory, so there is still inbuilt root in this ROM. As soon as I do, it will disappear.
20170122:
This is valid for 20170118 as well: There won't be any root baked into this ROM anymore due to http://lineageos.org/Update-and-Build-Prep/. To have root, you will have to flash SuperSU. This means it should be possible to use apps on this ROM checking for the existence of su binaries if you don't flash any root zip (never tested by me though).
20170118:
Seems like we've got a new bootanimation!

dump question. But if I flash one of those https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3209863 will I flash firmware or just ROM. What is the firmware in this point (boot.img, modem, kernel ...)?

Just saw that, seems to have something to do with my build environment, will investigate further once I get home on Thursday.

Should be possible, but I do not recommend it (because I'm using other compiler binaries than the official does)

Constant bootloop on flashing Franco Kernel over Oreo 8.1 ROMs

I wanted to flash a custom Kernel for the best battery life and buttery performance over my Nitrogen OS 8.1 ROM. After going through the xda posts and several kernel review videos, Franco Kernel was the best match.
So I tried flashing the latest version 'fk-r16-anykernel2.zip' over my clean ROM but it resulted in a bootloop. So I did a factory reset, flashed AOSP Extended (I thought probably Nitrogen OS and Franco doesn't go hand in hand), and tried Franco Kernel again but without success. I tried all the available versions of the kernel for Oreo ROMs but all resulted in a bootloop ultimately. Please help if anyone has faced the same problem.
I tried wiping the Cache and Dalvik Cache before and after flashing the kernel (although I don't see a point in doing that).
My device information:
Device - Redmi Note 3 SD (Kenzo)
ROM - AOSP Extended Oreo (June 10 official build)
Bootloader unlocked.
TWRP Recovery 3.2.1 installed.
No custom kernel installed.
FK is outdated and will NOT work with roms with the new device tree. This is already posted on that thread and AOEX too.

Ohh.. I didn't know that.. Thanks for your quick reply.. Can you please suggest any alternate Kernel that's as good and supports the new device tree?
Thanks in advance.
Agni kernel latest
The stock kernel is good enough for me, you can always use a kernel auditor to edit it. People use agni kernel.

I tried that too. But there were stutters everywhere. That led me on to Radon. Are you using it with AOSP Extended?
Im using it on bootleggers
