Hi gurus!
I made a stereo FM transmitter circuit that fits into a phone. I'm turning that transmitter on and off via a power button press of about 6 seconds. Instead of doing that I would like to be able to toggle the transmitter with an App. Now the main question is how to get an on/off signal from an App. Since I would like to build this into my Moto G my idea is to use the notification LED for it.
Notification LEDs can be dimmed, I did not measure it yet but I presume the LED is driven with a PWM signal.
So here is my idea:
- drive that LED with a very low duty cycle PWM continuously to keep the transmitter ON, like 10% for example (to save current), and when the uC on my circuit gets that signal for some seconds it will turn on the transmitter.
In other words, whenever the LED is driven continuously (low duty cycle PWM) for more than a few seconds the transmitter would be ON.
The notificaion LED is used by other applications too, I know, but I've never seen a situation where it's continuously on, neither fully lit nor dimmed.
So question is , is this feasible, how difficult would it be? I do not know anything about Android programming but I may be able to detect a constant duty cycle for some seconds on that small microcontroller.

I wanted to ask prejudice, and some days that I can not turn on my tv's Android weweb (the one with the wii remote type), the red LED lights up but when I pressed the button on the remote control will not turn on, as if exhausted batteries
I noticed that in the remote, exactly at the close under the batteries there are two buttons that if they Pigio begin to flash, what are they? you know something? thanks
Here's something interesting: there is a mechanical switch on the flashlight led that clicks with wear. It's actually quite cool. There appears to be a mechanical switch and an electrical switch in sequence. The mechanical switch connects the led when a program that may need it opens, and the electrical switch handles strobing.
I hear it when the camera app opens and closes, but not when the flash goes off. I hear it every time I toggle the flashlight, though. It's actually quite pleasing to the ears.
Anyone else experience this?
Hmm I put the phone up to my ear and toggled my flashlight widget a bunch of times but I couldn't hear anything. Tried it with the camera app too and still nothing. My ears are pretty messed up from concerts though, so perhaps it's out of my range of hearing
Hey all I have the double din android 4.2.2 ... I'm wondering if anyone has had this issue before,
The led lights for the buttons don't light up apart from when I turn the unit on however they come off straight away. I am able to go settings and then click on element and change the colour of the buttons they light up and then turns off again. It's really fustrating I have been trying to figure it out for days now how to keep the lights on the buttons on.. it's really annoying as i do alot of night driving and it dont look nice without the leds on the buttons.
Has anyone expirienced this before and are there any solutions could it be a software issue?

Have you made sure your illumination wires are connected correctly. If the radio thinks your car lights are not on it might not turn on the LED button lights. Or try turning car headlights off. iF they are on.
My unit is a coolpumpkn KD-D1908 for a suzuki grand vitara.
The button lights are always on when the unit is powered on and they are always brighter than the surrounding lights.
Also there is no way to turn them off or dim them with the vehicle dimmer.
Iis there a hardware or software way to enable dimming.
My first idea was to disconnect the led positive lines and connect them to the vehicle's illumination wiring. Since its all 0-5v it should run the stereo led's just fine or i'll have to use a voltage converter to get the right brightness to match the rest of the surrounding lighting.
I think the only wire on the head unit for illumination has one function and that its an input to the mcu that in turn sends a signal to the rk3188 to dim the screen according to a preset software amount. So that's only an on and off setting.
I'm just looking for a way to make this unit behave like the factory unit

On my Joying unit, there is a setting in "Factory Settings" that controls this option. Might be label button illumination or something similar.
Option 1 would have the buttons illuminate only when my headlights are switched on. Your HU needs to be wired correctly (i.e. proper illumination/dimmer wire).
Option 2 illuminates the buttons at all times but disables screen dimming with headlight switch. I have to manually dim my screen with this option and this is currently what I'm using.
I just go into the elements option and reduce the levels there.

my lg v30 plus suddenly blackout but phone is working all calls notifications sounds are coming. there is no prior sign of any problem. nothing feels in darkness, battery disconnect and connect again no sign appear even of charging or logo or download mode etc. i reconnect the LCD cables but all in vain
any suggestions please
most important is that i charge my phone the battery is 32% and about after ten minutes i disconnect it not see what is the position and put it in my pocket after one hour i found the phone blank screen
Just now my V30 had its first total screen blackout. I logged on here prior to checking whether anything was working (tried hooking up USB-C charging and Qi charging; phone would have been on silent mode so I don't know if calls / notification were working, didn't bother checking any Bluetooth connections etc.).
Anyhow, the fix was long press volume down + power button for about 10 seconds. Power button alone wouldn't do it. Back in action.

i think there is a capacitor which may be short
