Hi Everyone,
I am facing a continues problem with a couple of ROMS (RESURRECTION REMIX V 5.7.0 and TEMASEK13 V9.2), found in the following thread:-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...i9200-i9205-cm-13-0-temasek-mega-6-3-t3286954
Frankly I am not entirely sure what the issue is, i tried clean flashes for both roms and still facing issue with the mic. When speaking over the phone, the caller complains that my voice is too far or low.
This is my only phone I can use as a daily driver, and I hope to have this issue fixed soon.
Try the next build. I have made some changes..

Hello, I've had a problem with the latest galaxy s3 I9300 build (ending in 8)
I'm on three and when making outgoing calls both me and the person on the other end get static and distortion. This is on landlines and mobiles. I tried a settings patch for hd voice but it wouldn't install. I have is this an ongoing problem, or is there a solution? I thanks
I'm on Three and running a Modaco rom with the same issue! Call audio was previously fine which leads me think this might be a network issue...
Update: Scratch that, reading around it seems this is a known bug, fix seems to be to re-flash stock and try CM again..
Still there
Have updated to most recent rev from stock and problem persists. It goes away whenever I turn mobile data off curiously, but this is impractical.
Thanks for responding
Interesting, I've spent most of the day baking and flashing the S3. It's not a kernel issue or a modem issue, I'm now using Modaco TW prebake with XLF5 modem and CF Root. No bug, but the moment I flash a vanilla pre-bake or a vanilla rom (CM9/AOPK) call audio is distorted. :/
Problem Persists with latest Nightly
I tried flashing the latest Nightly yesterday and the problem persists. I can no longer disable the distortion by disabling mobile data either. I am almost convinced that it is something to do with the Mobile data settings though.
Every Vanilla Rom
Confirmed, it's every vanilla rom I try too. CM9/AOKP etc. When I return to stock, or go Omega 7 the problem is none existant.
What did you guys do to resolv this? I was on RC2 and updated to 04.08. and now I do have those distortions.
I tried to change the radio but nothing really helps. Any hint on this?
I use voice chat on Skype a lot, but I also love the speed from 4.4.1 + crpalmer's kernel + bionic libs, however, there's one thing that's keeping me away from that speed, and that's voice chatting being broken on 4.4..Does anyone know a fix for this or know what kind of problem it is? Is it a 4.4 ROM problem or a kernel problem? Whether stock kernel or crpalmers, whenever I initiate a Skype call, it literally kills my ears, it makes this extremely loud screeching and static-y noise that never goes away unless I restart my phone...Anyone know what's up with this?
As far as I know, it's a hardware issue, and not a software issue. I was having the same issue with Newt's 4.2.2 GPE ROM. I got tired of the Skype bug and installed the Unofficial CM 11 (Before official was announced), and the issue was still there. I did an RUU to 1.15. Still had the issue. Installed Newt's GPE again, the problem isn't there anymore. So I'm assuming it's a hardware issue. If possible, take a look at the logcat when trying to voice chat on Skype. See if you see any errors regarding the microphone. I think it's just a fluke. Some people have the issue, others don't.
Its a kennel Issue I have the same Prob too

As far as I know, Skype audio has been working right in CM 11 since December 10th. Please tell me that you are running a more recent ROM than that.
For giggles, I just verified that I have no audio problems using the Skype test service either using the phone as a handset or using speaker-phone. I didn't bother trying headset or bluetooth as those were more likely to work in the first place.
If you still think that there is a software problem, please install the latest nightly of CM 11, do not install anything except Skype, do not restore anything, do not change anything (especially ART). Verify a problem using the test service and then provide a logcat in the CM 11 thread. Also, repeat the same steps with a stock ROM and verify that it works there.

Ditto (and, fyi, I doubt it is a kernel problem).

this is a real bummer, i use skype everytime im out of the country
Hello everyone,
Just got my S3 ( i9300 ) and surely enough flashed it to latest cm stable from their website which is 10.2.
Everything works, but I have this strange issue with incoming calls. When i answer the call, I cant hear the other person through the front speaker. I need to enable the back speaker and disable it to get sound on the front one. Sometimes the sound would be distorted. This does not happen on outgoing calls, they work perfectly fine.
I later flashed kitkat nightly and it had the same issue.
Problem goes away if i recover to stock. Unfortunately, i can't stand the damn thing.
Baseband v: I9300XXUGMK6, which is the newest for my region and also seems to be most common.
I tried googling, but couldnt find this specific glitch.
Any suggestions would be appriciated.
Thanks
Same problem, same story

I had the 2.4.5 installed and had to switch because of the issue, so i switched to archidroid 1.x version and problem was gone, now on archiport(ultimarom beta1) the problem is there again. Thats real sad because the rom is such awesome
So i think sammy had done something in their 4.3 version that fixed that

That's really odd, since I've been using Archi ever since I first flashed it ( at the time I believe it was 2.3.x ), and I'm a happpy user since then.
try dialing outgoing call to whatever number a couple of times and then get some incoming calls?
And yes, Archidroid is awesome, has everything you could possibly want ( the only exception being MHL )

I just have to activate loud speaker and then deactivate during call and sound is normal, a lot of users have the same issue but noone have a 100% solution. I know its awesome and will give it a shot when he release his 2.4.7 with CM

After i had a go with Omni, I can't think of any reason why should I switch back to CM. Arhci mentioned CM's support and developer base as a reason for the switch, will see...
I use my phone at work quite heavily and it's just impossible for me to switch back and forth speakers.
Found something interesting in kryten2k35 thread... Will report
CallSoundRepair.apk - Work as well

Hi, i have a strange issue when i use Cyanogen-Mod 11
Sometimes when I make or receive phone call there are strange noises on first seconds of call.
It's not a constant problem but it occurs even often and in any of previous version of CM.
I have a I9300XXEMG4 modem and my question is, should I change it on some newer or not?

Hi! As far as i know it is a CM problem. I have EFS V1 modem and sometimes i get the same problem while using Archidroid 2.5.1 which is based on CM. Maybe someone else known a little more than me.
I am on resurrection remix latest nightly [nougat].
I am experiencing a weird mic issue which is,
When I am in call the other party isn't able to hear me
but when I switch to speaker mode everything works fine !
I tried checking mic with google assistant and it doesn't show any vibration animation in it when I speak !
I tried various solutions like changing the line in the build prop
fluence to none !
Till yesterday everything was fine but from today even that is not helping !
Sometimes restart would work but now even that isn't working !
Please, help !
Have you been able to solve this? I have the exact same problem. The build prop edits haven't fixed it either.
+1. Facing the same problem on latest LineageOS builds!
