Hello, today I wanted to restore my previous CWM backup. So i started with cleaning partitions before restoring. I've begun with system and my phone hang. I waited about 30 minutes, then pulled out battery with hope I'll try again via CWM. The thing is - I can't boot it into recovery: Volume Up/Volume Down+Power leads to normal start up (LG screen and nothing further). So i connected it to PC and wanted to make it right via ADB. Unfortunely it seems I had USB Debugging turned off, and ADB isn't recognizing my phone now... What should I do now?
I have rooted D620r with unlocked bootloader.

You must never delete partitions before restoring a backup especially system!!
CWM will do that for you...
Boot your device in factory reset mode (which simply boots CWM) by doing the following key combination: (while your device is off - pull and plug the battery to be sure) press and hold Vol - and power, when you see the LG logo, release the power button and press it again. Hold them until you see the facory reset mode, then simply enter YES. It will reboot to CWM.

Weird, I was always doing this when I had HTC Desire S
Used this countless times and always worked!
Ok, i've done as You said, something like CWM loading screen appeared, and then went back to LG Screen. LG Screen standing still and nothing happens
The only good thing is that I can access ADB for 20 seconds when CWM is "loading", but no action can be executed - every command ends up with "waiting for device".
Thanks for Your reply, though! :highfive:
EDIT:
I solved my problem by using "Emergency software restore" mode featured in "LG User Support Tool". I got clean, unrooted system now and I need to modify it again but...

Lock bootloader
Hello everyone.
I was just going to try out CM11, but got one question. Is it possible to lock the bootloader and revert everything to stock? There were some talks about new stock ROMs coming out and they might not work after a custom ROM.
Last night, i accidentally swiped to restore to an older ROM that i had. Not meaning to do this, and beginning to panic, i attempted to stop it, while it was still at 0%. I did this by holding the red button down. As i have now realised how stupid that was, i am wondering if there is any chance to fix it. It is now stuck on the Sony logo. Although i have seen many problems here, i cant find anyone that had the same problem as me. I was running the existenz ROM, and the ROM i was accidentally restoring to was the official ROM. Please help me
Thank you

I had the exact same problem, I created a guide to help other people with this problem. Here it is. I can't post links yet but if you want to have a look, search for this on google ( oneplus : Xperia z2 bricked help!! ) It's the first link ( fourms Oneplus Net )
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To get Sony's UI/ROM back:
Download and Install Flashtool from here.
Download a proper ( official ) ftf firmware for YOUR phone ( eg Sirius ).
Now copy the downloaded ftf firmware file to ( C:\Flashtool\firmwares )
Open the Flashtool and click on the little lightning rod and choose Flashmode.
Now a window will pop up and ask you to choose firmware for your device, Choose the one you downloaded and click flash.
--------Choosing a wrong one WILL further brick your device--------
Meanwhile, turn your phone completely off, To do this hold the Power button and the volume UP button until you feel your phone vibrate 3 times.
Flashtool will pop up saying you need to put your phone into flash/fastboot mode.
Now put it on fastboot/flash mode ( connect the usb to your computer and hold down the volume up button while plugging the other end to your phone. Your phone's LED should be blue at this stage.
The flashing process will start and once it's done, Flashtool will ask you to unplug the device and restart the phone.
The first boot takes 5-10 minutes.. CONGRATS YOU HAVE UN-BRICKED YOUR PHONE.
Now if you want to root your phone and install a custom recovery ( TWRP ), Download this package and extract it on your desktop
Make sure you have usb debugging turned on ( on your phone )
Navigate inside " to root" folder and run install.bat
Once thats done, to install recovery, navigate inside the " recovery folder " and run install.bat
Make sure to follow on-screen instructions. ( your computer and your phone )
Now you have Rooted sony ROM.

No problem Always here to help.. if i can
Currently, I'm making a toolkit for all xperia z devices, just hoping it goes according to plan
Hello guys, i have sony xz1 g431, i bricked my phone when i try to install another rom of another device via twrp. Now my phone no light when connect to pc, no light when charging, flash tool doesnt recognize my phone. When i connect my phone to pc it only shows QUSB_BULK on my pc. I think it lost fastboot or something. I try hold down button, up button or both when connect to pc but still no light and nothing happen.
Please help me fix this problem or atleast some good suggestions to solve this problem. I will really happy for that. Thanks :crying:
Just have the phone powered off, hold just only the volume down button and while holding it, connect the phone to usb cable to your PC.
It should enter flash mode (green light), where you can flash stock firmware via newflasher (or possibly also via flashtool, but I do not use that).
If you have the phone off, hold volume up button while connecting to usb, it should enter fastboot (blue light), which also may be used for some recovery, if the phone has been unlocked (or for the unlock itself).
If any of those modes are available, the phone should be possible to recover.

i have tried it but there's no light. I think it's dead :crying:
@Karl Einstein, have you tried both ways as suggested above?
Maybe you can examine what usb device appear (if any) in each of the described modes (tried to enter flash mode, tried to enter fastboot mode, tried to just plug the phone to usb without holding any button from power off state).
What happens if you try to enter recovery mode (twrp) - having your phone powered off, without usb connection, holding volume down and power, should enter twrp if you had it flashed before.
Do you get any vibration when hold the power button and.volume.key.up?

Well...I think your phone is dead...I'm really sorry to say that, but in this case, that is the only reasonable explanation.
Yesterday I flashed the GSI image, then tried to flash to eXistenZ, it just stuck in the startup interface. However, it can still enter flash mode and fastboot mode, I have no choice but to use the newflasher to re-flash the firmware, it will return to normal.
In general, Sony devices are hard to change bricks, unless the phone is a Japanese carrier's custom phone (generally can not unlock the bootloader, and can only flash some firmware).
I have seen users who have flashed CE firmware for the docomo version and then can't enter flash mode and fastboot mode.Unlike your device, her phone is totally dead...It can't be charged, and there is no prompt to connect to the computer.
If you can buy a motherboard from eBay or somewhere else, you can disassemble your phone, then replace the old motherboard.
Hope these helps.
Thank you guys for all your support. Finally i decided to skip this problem and i will buy a new device

Just a side note , why flash existenz on a gsi rom... As it is made for stock Sony only or did I just misread something..
I had the same issue before on my lenovo p2 it lost fastboot and download mode but the PC detect it as qusb bulk then Qualcomm USB h9008 I searched all solutions but no good I think it needs some kind of box to push the modes or change the mother board. So I changed to Sony instead of repair it

Sad to ear that...
I had the same issue with my previous Htc10.
As it was still under warranty, I have had to contact HTC support and told them that and OTA bricked it.
They accepted the issue and replaced the motherboard.
I was BL unlocked, rooted and custom rom when it happened and no issue with support as they had no mean to prove it ?.
If still under warranty try to contact Sony support and tell them the same story... Ota bricks my phone ?

I've flashed eXistenZ before flash GSI in my phone. I thought GSI image would cover my origin ROM like eXistenZ, so after flash GSI image in,I flash eXistenZ again.

I have the same issue. My sony xperia xz1 G8342 got sudden dead. (Before dead, I remember I disabled "Developer Mode"). Now its not response by any mean except charging sign when i connect to Power source or PC. Xperia Flashtool shows "device connected with USB debugging disabled".
So, How Can I enter flash mode or fastboot mode? Is My phone recoverable? Please Help.
Thanks
Yesterday I was struggling with my XZ1 Compact and came across this thread that gave me some light to get my mobile phone back.
I guess it's way late for Karl now but just in case, I'm sharing my experience. I was working on my device to get LineageOS 18, as I'm a total newbie with roms I followed the different articles that were posted on Getdroidtips for this particular case: Unlocked bootloader, flashed TRWP and installled lineageos. But then I realized it would be good to have Google Play for restoring my files and apps, but when tried to reboot into recovery mode to get Gapps flashed, Black Screen Of Death started.
After that
with the phone plugged to the pc it wasn't recognized as a device (so adb or fasboot where useless)
the only thing the phone reacted to was to press and hold power + volume up (either for reset or power off)
but no matter what, next boot again BSoD
Tried the Xperia Companion but it prompted that repair was not possible as bootloader was unlocked.
Eventually found this life saver

From there, using fasboot I could reboot the device back with the LineageOS. I was still having issues with recovery boot but I'll post that on a different thread.
Thanks again to everyone for sharing thoughts and tips!
My Tab S6 tried to auto-install an update yesterday (it is rarely connected to Wifi/internet). It then rebooted. Since then, it's been stuck in a boot loop.
It will display the "Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 | Secured By Knox" logo screen for a few seconds, then switch to the blue "Installing System Update" screen (with the android logo). Installing System Update gets to 28% and stops. Then the rotating icon on the android freezes. Then the device reboots and starts all over again.
Edit: the tablet is 100% stock. It's not been rooted or had any custom ROMs loaded.
I have tried getting to recovery mode, by holding power+volup while it boots. This doesn't seem to change the behavior at all. Any advice is much appreciated.

I can't actually shut it down. If I start holding power+voldown right after it boots, the tablet does reboot before getting stuck at 28%. But it reboots--it doesn't power off.
I tried download mode and that actually seemed to work! Specifically, I left the tablet overnight in the reboot loop until the battery drained. Just now, I held down volup+voldown and plugged it into my laptop. I got the green "Warning/Custom OS" screen and then pressed volup to continue. The tablet rebooted pretty quickly after that (I'm guessing due to low battery) so I didn't get a good look at the download mode options.
Once I'm in download mode, can I factory reset the tablet? I don't need to preserve any data/apps/settings.

You cannot reset the tablet from Download mode afaik- You need to enter Recovery Mode to do that.
You can however, flash stock from Download mode using Odin (3.13.3 is best). If you're not confident with doing that, your best option is Factory Reset in Recovery Mode. Hold Volume Up and Power when the Tablet is booting, let go when you see the Samsung logo. The timing can be tricky, but you should be able to do it. Also, you can force a reboot with Volume Down and Power.
Alternatively, if factory reset doesn't work, since you're completely stock, you will still be covered under warrenty.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried this many many times. I've tried letting go of the buttons at different times. I've tried holding volup while letting go of power. I've tried this a ton of different ways, and no matter what, the tablet always shows the "Installing system update" screen. Some googling has led me to believe that sometimes, when performing a factory reset, the "Installing system update" screen shows up right before the normal recovery screen. Is it possible that the tablet is trying to get to recovery mode, but can't get past this first step?

Honestly, I don't know - I'm not an expert but I guess it's possible that the update failed and corrupted both System and Recovery.
You'll be covered under warrenty, so maybe just return the Tablet from where you purchased or direct to Samsung, could take a while given the current situation though I guess. If you have a PC, then I think the best option would be to just flash stock yourself, since that's probably all Samsung will do. Even if that doesn't work you'd still be covered under warrenty, as far as I'm aware attempting to flash stock doesn't trip Knox.
Here is solution to unbrick your device!!!

Despair not...I have just come from resolving this exact situation not 30 minutes ago. I'd been trying to flash (using Odin as I decided to stay on Stock and not root this device, for a change) the latest OneUI2.1 releases for my device (SM-T865 - LTE version) and boom in the middle of the Odin update, the flash just failed...I then couldn't reboot and get into neither Recovery, nor Download Mode because it appears my bootloader and recovery both got corrupted.
Here's what you need....
1. Odin app for PC (am on Windows)
2. Your device's Stock firmware (sammobile firmware archive)
3. You will need someone to help you boot the device directly into Download mode (and this is the tricky part because for most of us we are used to get into Bootloader by using the key combination (from Powered Off device) Vol+ and Power On at the same time to get into stock recovery and then scrolling down to option 2 in this menu, "Reboot to Bootloader". Well now you are going to boot directly into Bootloader mode. Here's how you do it...
4. Get your friend to line up the USB-C cable into the port of the device, but DO NOT press it in...yet
5. Press Power off and Vol- buttons at the same time to turn off the device
6. And now you have to to be super fast: if device starts to turn on on its own, YOU press and hold Vol+ and Vol- both at the same time while YOUR FRIEND pushes the USB cable fully into the port - you should now have booted directly into Download mode. (if not repeat this, and remember to be super fast and sync with your friend pushing in the USB cable)...
7. When you get into Download mode, then you are home and dry...
8. Select ONLY the Bootloader file (BL...XX...) in Odin, make sure only "reset time" and "reboot" are ticked, and flash
9. When device reboots, press Vol+ and Power combo to get back into Bootloader mode again...but I think device will reboot into Download mode on its own
10. Now select all the files from your Stock file into the various tabs (BL, CP, CSC, AP...) do not select HOME_CSC as we want to flush this device clean...
11. Flash, and voila...success - you will have lost all your data but rather that than losing the device...
12. Feedback here and let us know if this works? For reference for others in the future...
FYI, I got in this situation, and the previous post did work for me, just takes good timing! Thanks!!!!
Same issue today for me. My tablet showed different screen with green and red text, it allowed me to delete app data, then booted into safe mode, then i had to do factory reset and now i am screwed, as it is refusing to restore any apps and their settings. I will try to flash it back to Android 9, maybe then it will do the restore. I forgot to do any manual backup to SD or so.
Edit: the device upgraded to 10, but reset itself after about 10 minutes of use.
Edit2: i found what caused it. It is caused by Nova Launcher, if i try to set wallpaper.
Just found a news article that there is a RGB/sRGB problem with wallpapers. It might be the problem i had.
I am adding a screenshot of the result.
Yeah, I had that kind of reboot loop from a wallpaper that I downloaded

Hi,
Really need your help, after I updated my firmware using Odin, updated BL, AP, CP, CSC, my tab cannot boot up stuck in logo. Doing the Power + volume up leads me to different screen now. I cannot access recovery mode or download page anymore,
What must I do? Pleasssee help. Added the pic, after doing hard reset (power + vol up)
I cannot connect back to Odin also. Always setup connection failed.
Please help. Really messed up big time
Just a thought... Can this be restored from service center?
Thank you in advance.
I have the same problem with a Tab S6 Lite, it is in bootloop and does not let me enter the recovery mode, I can go into download mode and I flashed the latest original firmware Android11, Android10 etc., . I tried them all but always goes in bootloop, and also the bootloop occurs only if I connect the usb cable to the PC, without any sign of life. Do I still have hopes or have I compromised the motherboard?
The reason for all this is because I had followed a guide to give root permissions with magisk, I did everything right, only that the guide was with Android10, while I had Android11 and I was deceived by the fact that in the title of the guide there was written "guide 2021"
, so I did not check the compatibility of operating systems, I was a fool, I know, I hope so much that I did nothing irretrievable, it's my son's tablet!

Did you use HOME CSC or the non HOME CSC when flashing?

Try to install a castom rooted rom which has pre installed also Twrp.

Download the android 11 last rooted rom from there. You install it with odin as as a normal original rom.
Disable in odin auto reboot. After rom install, restart manually and press the correct buttons immediately to boot in Twrp and not to system. Format (not wipe) data from there and reboot to system. If you are lucky it will work..
(I hope you unlocked bootloader before try to root. If you haven't unlocked bootloader this won't work also).

Why flashing only the bootloader first? At the moment I'm trying to recover my s20 fe from a bootloop without losing my data

Any tips in recovering my stock s20 fe from a bootloop without losing data? already tried Odin but without success the first try

Wiping cache partition in Recovery and reflashing the firmware are basically your only 2 options

Flash in odin the same rom you had. There are 2 csc files in rom, which you use 1 in odin one. Try use the "home csc". Home csc keep KEEPS your data. If you're lucky it may work. (It would work in keeping your data 100% if your rom was ok. Because it isn't you have some changes to work.).
You must try with same rom or newer.
CSC – If you flash the CSC file, it’ll perform a factory reset of your Galaxy device and wipe all data while installing a new firmware to bring your device to the same state as it was when you purchased it. Go with CSC if you want a clean installation.
HOME_CSC – On the other hand, if you want to keep your Samsung phone’s data and settings even flashing the stock firmware, you can select the HOME_CSC file.
Hi everyone, I followed this guide here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/v60-bootloader-unlock-and-magisk-root.4358785/ to root the phone with magisk. Everything went great up to the last point. I rebooted my device and I am currently stuck at fastboot mode as my device can't normally boot into stock rom I had before I tried to root it. Should I just flash stock rom on the device? How should I do that? I am still an amateur and can't figure it out by myself. My bootloader is unlocked. Any help would be much appreciated. Flashing backup boot images doesn't help.
Just put your device in the download mode. Here are the steps for you:
1. When you are in the fastboot mode, choose to turn off the device by scrolling though the options (via volume up/down key and then pressing the power button to select).
2. After the phone is off, keep the volume up key pressed and insert the USB cable into the device. Make sure the USB cable is attached to a computer before plugging it into the phone. This will put you in the download mode.
3. From there you flash the relevant firmware using LGUP.
The case is outdated, I managed to upload the firmware via LGUP
Hi everyone.
I have a similar problem. I wanted crossflash to EU.
When I was ripping and deleting the contents of the partition, the phone lost the usb connection and after reboot it fell into a loop. It does not report for usb and I can not turn it off. Is there anything else that can be done to save him? I erased the partitions FTM, Modem_A, Modem_B, SID_A, SID_B, OP_A - not OP_B.
I have a backup of them
I'm sorry, my english is bad.
You have two options depending on which one is available to you:
1. If you get into the QFIL then try to restore the deleted partitions. It is quite possible that other partitions have also got affected due to abrupt disconnection resulting from power failure.
2. Maybe you can get into the download mode. It will be tricky. Press and hold the volume down key and the power button till the phone restarts. Once it starts, press the volume up key and insert USB cable (that is already connected to a computer). Once there, re-flash the firmware.
Thank you for your help. I was able to start the phone in download mode and upload the firmware via LGUP.
Hello! I didn’t root anything, everything is stock. at some point phone just crashed and now it is stuck in boot loop. i was able to factory reset it, but nothing changed, it keeps rebooting. LV600AM
The problem, in your case, becomes complex because AT&T does not release firmware publicly (that you could just re-flash the phone with). How were you able to factory reset the V60 phone? Did you get into the settings menu and reset it from there?

i was able to use power/volume down feature to get into factory reset menu, wipee everything, but nothing changed. it just keeps rebooting till battery runs out
I hope someone here could share with you a full AT&T V60 partition dump. Failing which your only option is to have AT&T restore it for you.
