Marshmallow Bluetooth Minimum volume too loud - Honor 5X Questions & Answers

Specifically for CM 13, does anyone else experience that from CM 12 to CM 13, bluetooth volume controls get linked to the actual phone's? Is there any way to pull the original CM 12 bluetooth system files and replace CM 13's?

[Q] Best ROM for Audio/Video/Mic Quality

Folks,
I am experiencing low mic volume output after installing cm-10.1-20130411-EXPERIMENTAL-p5110-M3 on a Samsung Galaxy Tab p5113. The application we are testing is video and in this case the mic volume is really low. This is a tablet to tablet skype like video session. Here the other end perceived very low Audio coming from the Tab with the CM-10.1-20130411-EXPERIMENTAL-p5110-M3. Stock ROM mic levels were fine. I read through a bunch of the forum and saw some folks noting this issue with other older CM builds.
Is there any file/value that I can modify at the OS level to manipulate the Volume output of the Mic?
Any other ROM's that you might recommend that handle mic volume/Audio/Video better than the ROM mentioned above?
Thanks in advance.

Aplha Widget
Just a follow up, This may help someone..
I was able to install the Alpha Widget app and it has a mic gain control function. Does anyone know what this gain control actually manipulates within the Android OS/Kernel? It would be great to manually manipulate this mic gain at OS / CLI level.
Thanks in advance.

Call recording?

I've tried CM10.1.3 stable and Liquidsmooth roms on my I9300 and am currently using Liquidsmooth 2.10 (Android 4.3) as my daily driver which I'm very happy with. However - call recording doesn't work! I used to use Galaxy Call Recorder when I was running stock Samsung android, but this no longer works. Anyone know how I can make it work? Or what roms might be better for call recording?

Tried that one, it only seems to record one half of the conversation rather than both. If the other party speaks loud and there's no background noise you can just about make it out. I used to be able to record from incoming and outgoing channels and thus loud and clear for both. Anyone know how to do this with liquidsmooth, or know of a GS3 rom which allows it?

If you read the thread, you'll find that you'd need to tweak the settings to find what works for you.

Low mic volume on all roms

Hi,
I have a Galaxy s3 UK version i have recently went back to it and updated to Android lollipop and used many roms including the touchwiz 4.4.4 roms.
However, my mic volume is low i tried recording my voice and i could barely hear it and the same when the other person is on the other side of the phone.
I've tried using boeflla kernel to raise the mic volume but still the same problem.

fixed the problem it needed a cleaning
Use boeffla kernel and activate boeffla sound mod.
Change speaker to 63 and in-call mic to 28
It should work like a charm.
I don't know .. maybe you should format your device

Major audio issue

There is a big audio issue with my RN3. Since I installed CM13 official nightly the loud speaker stopped working while using media playbacks. But only the ringtone is working fine, means the loud speaker only works when getting a call but it does't work during a call. I ignored it for a while thinking the next update might solve the issue. Still the problem persists. So, a while back I started using CM 14.0 and 14.1 by santosh. And new isuue came up, now the in speaker (ear) stopped working but the loud speaker is fine during a call. Also the media is all mute, can't hear anything. And yesterday I installed 7.1 rom by abhishek987 same issue. Could someone please explain what might be the problem and help me solve the issue.
Hmm... Did you make clean installs (wipe everything except microsd?)
You could try flashing back MIUI and see if it fixes it, if not im afraid it might be a hw problem
I have (almost) the sam issue.
What i have done: i did a factory reset through twrp and switched from crdroid 7.0 to santosh cm 14.1. All was fine, but yesterday i recognized my mic is not working (phone call, audio recording, Google search etc...). BUT: loudspeaker is working fine, even audio recording via Video.
What i have done:
-restored backup from crdroid 7.0
-restored backup from aicp 12
But my mic is still not working
I also did a full wipe (including /system) and installed aicp 12.1. it does not work
What can i do?

Update: even with my Bluetooth headset with INTEGRATED microphone, i cant make a call or recording...
Must be a Software issue, but why i cant revert via backup?! Seems like Firmware / radio issues for me and that my alka / cofface recovery did not backup these partitions?!

Yeah. This happens from time to time in this phone. Try to clean your mini jack and it should work all fine.

I'm afraid its not a solution for me
I cleaned my headphone plug and my incall voice is still not working.
If i play music, my loudspeaker is on. Wouldnt, if my redmi would think a headphone is plugged in.

WhatsApp audio issues when someone video calls me, not when I call them

Hey all,
I'm wondering if we can nip this issue in the bud. It used to be that you had to use mono audio to use Whatsapp video calling, but now it seems the issue has been half fixed - if I call someone with normal audio, it works fine. If they call me, it's all distorted and garbled like usual.
Anyone know what the issue is? The 4/25 build of Havoc still had this issue where I had to use mono audio for both calls, but the 06/09 build seemed to half fix the issue.

Sorry i don't use Whatsapp, but on Skype only Ancient ROM work great.
in past on CM13 i think there was the same problem. I solve this by using method:
Use file explorer with root privilages and navigate to system folder and tap on build.prop
Then find and replace the value true with false for the following lines of code:
Search for use.dedicated.device.for.voip=true and replace the value true with false. Hence, it would be: use.dedicated.device.for.voip=false
Search for use.voice.path.for.pcm.voip=true and replace the value true with false here as well. Then the code will be: use.voice.path.for.pcm.voip=false

I think you may have a typo in that first one? Should be voip, not viop?

Cyanogen Mod 13 I think was Marshmallow or Nougat. I can try it, but I don't exactly have high hopes. Stock Android 8 did not have this issue, as well as any custom roms around that time. The problem is the audio becomes really tinny and robotic. In Android 9 roms this was fixed by switching to mono audio, but now it doesn't work at all.
I just have my wife call me through hangouts and it works. But Whatsapp does not work in Android 10 at all. Only reason I haven't migrated her to 10 because she uses it primarily. I rarely use it.

Holy crap, the latest Stag OS actually fixed the issue for me. It might be a fix incorporated into the source (Lineage). Literally years I've had this bug and it's finally fixed lol.
The only other bug (that I mildly care about) is the Hey Google bug. I don't know how some people have Hey Google working on saying it twice, but I don't. Maybe I have to re-do the voice recognition.
Edit: I find it curious I could only find Stag OS in the Telegram chat. Is there another forum where the LG V30 is popular?
