i KNOW this is DEV ... but nobody can answer me in Q&A ...
My earpiece volume is gone. i've tried replacing lib folder and etc folder and nothing works.
ever other volume is loud and fantastic.
but i can't hear from my earpiece.
it used to just be low. it was fine until i flashed a rom/kernel one day and then it was low.
i don't know what rom combo it was. i want to say one that has BEATS enabled.
any ideas?

Flash another ROM or try other headphones. If ur talking about the phone ear price than run a logcat and the specs of the ROM your running. Log when u are highering or lowering the volume.

Hello,
i have a the problem that my main speaker is sometimes very low. When i start playing music it's the normal volume for about 0,5 seconds but then it's really low. The problem is really often, not always, and even a restart of the phone doesn't work. I have already reset my phone but it still doesn't work.
Does anyone have the same problem or maybe a solution?
Best regards
Zillinda
i had it. its a hardware problem they will fix only if it will stop for good and not random... (thats why Z5c is my last sony)
my orginal post https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/help/speaker-stop-randomly-t3451518
It would be very helpful to know on which firmware you are, because it could also be software related.
Sounds to me like the low volume bug which is a known issue for nougat stock rom.

I am on 32.3.A.0.376 but i already have the problem since Marshmallow.
I just saw now that you wrote on your main speaker.
Does that mean the problem is only for the upper speaker?
Or do you have the problem on both.

It's on the speaker that plays music, and not the speaker what i use when i am calling someone.

That's partially the same one.
However not exactly. You got two speakers on your device which are hardware related identically. For playing music and video both are used to get stereo sound. For voice calls only one is used normally unless you change it by editing some system files.
So when you play music and get that problem, are both speakers low or just one?

Oh i thought that only the speaker on the down side plays music.
I think both are low.

So i don't believe in a hardward issue. Seems to be the common low volume bug some devices have with nougat.
For more infos read the 3 nougat threads in general section about the .372 , .376 and the .378 firmware.
The strange thing is that you say you had it before with marshmallow. Not sure if that problem had existed before. That would make this even more shamefull for sony. Do you know which MM version had you installed before.
However you can try a clean flash of latest nougat. If it's still there, please try to make a clean install of latest MM rom 5.11
If that solves your problem you will have to wait for a new fixed nougat firmware from sony
in my case its since 5.1.1 but its randomly when i tap the speaker is start working good again (only the top one ,which it more important the top one has better sound range (100-24000Hz)
bottom one is (500-48000H) i think
i checked long ago with hertz sine wave scale

Wipe chace dalvic ,reboot
I had this problem multiple times already (i think it was 3). I tried nearly everything, I actually installed stock MIUI, but it didn't work.
So what helped me, was just waiting. After about 24h, it suddenly worked again. I didn't find anything 'bout that problem on xda, so I just stopped searching for it, the other day it just worked again.
Good luck

I found a solution on the Miui forum. The trick was to play an audio file and insert and remove the headphones as fast as possible several times. Apparently, the headphone jack gets blocked or dirty and the phone "thinks" the headphone is plugged and that's why no sound comes out of the speakers. So, at least for me, it wasn't a software issue....
Let me know if that works for you.

I had exactly the same problem. I've tried as you adviced and boom it works now. Thanks!
But I think that this is only a shorthanded victory, because if there is something in the jack, it will eventually block the contact again. So I wonder, is there some reasonable way to clear your jack and perhaps USB? I think that compressed air might do, but I don't know for sure.
Anyways thanks for fixing my sound again.
Have a nice day.
Sound issue!!
coming out of the speakers in ringtones but whenever u tap on a mp3 file it says no supported apps....I installed a music player from play store but the song doesn't play...it says invalid format...

Your phone is stuck in headphone mode. Try to clean the headphone jack. If that doesn't solve the problem then use some app like SoundAbout or Audio Router.

Same issue here.
The phone, Note5 global, came with muted speaker. Tests acuse error. Tried plug/unplug jack several times. OS upgraded. After a reboot it start working and pass tests.
Yesterday it muted again. Was already upgraded to miui10 and was working fine. Tried again reboot and plug/unplug jack without success. Also tried reflash different rom. But it still mute and failing on tests.
Very disappoint a brand new phone came with those issues.

After having the very same issue, I just cleaned the jack up abit and it's fine now. So the dirt caused the phone to think that the earphones are still plugged in.
Redmi note 3 pro new buzzer install not sound. Please help.
Hello friends. Note 3 I received a new speaker because my speaker from my pro phone failed, but it didn't work. I returned and changed the product, but it didn't even have a single sizzle. I've reinstalled the old speaker, but it's working fine even though it's broken. There is a technical detail to be done during the installation of the buzzer. For example, if the speaker is not installed after the vibration module has been removed before the speaker is installed, the speaker does not work. Note that the vibration module of Note 3 pro was not sticky. It's not directly connected to the motherboard.

Discord Mic Issue While Using Earphone After Miui Ver. 9.6.18.0 Update.
After Updating to latest version of Miui for POCO i am facing this problems.
1- Pubg sound in earphone is not coming clear and volume output is very less - this was fine with old Miui Version.
2- Discord Mic is not working while using earphone mic. in speakers its fine.
(Is you facing the same issue i think after dual mic optimization this problem is happening which came in Miui Ver. 9.6.18.0)
Note:- Earphone is fine and its mic too.
i have tested with several earphones and the condition remains the same.
Thanks and Will Eagerly Wait For Your Reply.

Hi Vivek,
I am not sure what you mean by discord mic? But I am facing the same issue. My microphone on headphone not working on poco f1 in Phone App while making regular calls, but through WhatsApp Calls is working fine.
I have tried using different headphone but no luck. Are you facing the same issue?? Its really very frustrating that I can not call anyone using headphone. Caller is not able to hear me however I am able to hear him/her clearly.
Regards,
Sameer

Yes Sameer, Well Discord is like WhatsApp to gamers and it's mic is not working after 9.6.18.0 update before that was working fine. Well m not facing any issue while calling when earphone plugged in its working fine but yes I am kinda sure that this is software issue not hardware as you mentioned mic is working while WhatsApp calls. So, wait for update they promise (poco India) fix sound issues but yet they only mentioned pubg sound issues and that was also not happening before update. So I am positive and waiting for update.
Tweet about this add - jaimani and poco India, global let them know about your issue.
Thanks for replying Vivek.. Ah.. got it.. I am not a Gamer so could not get it earlier. Did you also try taking headset test using *#*#6484#*#* ? My test fails as I do not hear 3 seconds recording...

Yes it's number 12th headset test mine is working fine and I wonder how it's not working as u said earlier it's working for your WhatsApp.. woo that's whole alot of special characters and few numbers. You can also do all by just tapping kernal version 5-7 times. If your device really fail the test then sure go ahead and ask for replacement reason defective device.
Hope you find it helpful.

Well till date. Last day of 2018 this discord mic issue is not yet solved.. What the use of 845 if you guys cannot fix a simple bug..
Hello VivekS05,
I am facing this issue with all my apps for calling: Skype lite, Messenger lite and Whatsup.
It did not go away after update to 10.2.2.0 MIUI.
I only can use speakerphone and external mic for calling. With headphones I can only hear my opponent but they don't.Until I unplug earphones- cord or bluetooth.
Did you fix your mic?
Thanks
