Right? Its weird... It's also so hard for it to hear you with this phone... One plus one I had before this phone which was so easy it just caught my voice really easily idk what is wrong with the mics on 6p

No problems with mine. Maybe it's a pitch and tone thing? My coworker tries to unlock mine and can't do it even when you tries to make his voice deep like mine.

more ****tier for me is when i keep ok google on for lock screen. my frnds can unlock the phone with security enabled when they say "unlock the phone" and the phone dosent even ask them for a code or anything... are you also facing such issue??? plz try and revert!!!

You will have to turn off trusted voice. When you first enabled trusted voice it makes you acknowledge and accept the fact that it will use your fingerprint or passcode to unlock the device
There is no way around it unfortunately other than disabling trusted voice.
The best thing to do when training it to your voice is to use an octave you don't normally use for your voice. That will help keep people from being able to unlock it.

Retrain voice model. And do it somewhere where there are no sounds.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

6p has a problem with the noise echo reduction..
That is why people struggle to hear you and I would guess why voice rec not working properly
To fix it
Install a build prop editor
Change persist.audio.fluence.voicecall to off.
This fixed you mic issue with calls.
For voice rec if that doesn't fix try disabling other persist.audio.fluence options on build. Prop
Good luck

That's not true.... That's a hardware problem and should be replaced. I had that issue with my first 6p and my second one is amazing

It tough to say if there is a decent app out that can do that. Usually those apps only work well if you have them on speaker phone because the phones hardware is set up to not be able to record the other party directly, just what is coming out of your microphone.
One way to test is use the built in sound recorder app in the middle of a call. It does the exact same stuff as the call recorders.
Only way is using mic to record. Otherwise you need kernel support to record a phone call directly in android.

I'm not sure that it entirely correct, I'm pretty sure it is a hardware limitation that they put there for that reason, i could be completely wrong tho

BS, I wish there was an app that did this to all my calls automatically lol, that uploads remotely. (it'd be awesome as a future Google Voice feature)

at least a couple of times a week i will either answer a call or as soon as the person i am calling answers, a voice will say, "this call is now being recorded".
what the hell is up with that? its done it since i got the phone.

Either you or the other party has Google Voice & they pressed #4 on the dialer.
It makes that announcement (awkwardly loud) for legal purposes, since in some states/cities it's either: illegal to record without consent, at all or simply illegal to not inform them of the recording taking place.
Check this video out...
Anyone know where the Stealth mode files would be Located?

Interesting......
Seen a kernal somewhere that supported call recording... Somewhere in cdma development. And if you allow the permissions to mess with phone calls that is you being informed and agree to it, as seen when you download almost any app, just keep an eye out for the ones that say anything to do with phone calls,

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Has “Always Listening” Feature Of The Moto X?

http://www.androidorigin.com/samsung-galaxy-note-3-always-listening-moto-x/
its true can some confirm this
Yes. Samsung limits it to work with svoice out of the box. With custom kernels... they should be able to switch the hooks so it works better with Google now.
This work around is the best we have right now.
I wish we had the full motox UI though. Svoice actually works better for now.
yeah I would kill for this to work with google now. once I get my zero lemon I wont care what it might do to battery life but svoice just sucks.
maybe with 4.4? also we REALLY need a hack to change the activation command.
I flat our REFUSE to say "ok google" or "hi galaxy" to activate my phone. Period. Never.
My phone will answer to either "Computer" or "hey asshole" and nothing else
at least with google you can say "ok jarvis" which is slightly (just slightly) less douche than ok google or hi galaxy.

There is an app that let's you change the command that calls Google... Easy as pie. Look for it in the moto x section.

LG V10 Ok Google detection

I have enabled all settings and trained and retrained the voice model. I cannot seem to get the OK Google detection from any screen. It works when I open the app or when I slide up from the bottom which is opening the app. I am using the Verizon Wireless version.
Any tips or is anyone else experiencing this issues too?
I had the same issue yesterday, but now it works for some reason. The only thing I did was to install the Google Now launcher, update the settings there, test it, and go back to the LG UI. There's no way for me to know if this made it work, I just know that now it does.
I'll try this and see what happens. I wish it would just work the way its built.

Using Google Now Launcher didn't help.
Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk
I read somewhere the other day that the most recent update to google search broke voice detection from any screen and lock screen. Waiting on a fix from Google..
That would make sense. I was getting frustrated with this device. It doesn't have the smart screen that stays on when you're looking at it and the issue with the fingerprint not working with a case then Ok Google detection not working. I was about to take it back.
Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk
I had this issue on the htc m9 also, so I figured it was the app, or Android version 5.1
It seems to be fixed now.

What is the version? Mine doesn't work. And when I retrain, it doesn't even hear me. However I can hit the microphone button and ask it a question without issue.
In Settings/Apps, the "Google App" I have is version 5.5.29.19.arm64
That's the most updated. Are you sure that you have Voice Detection turned on?
Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk
Gah, mine is actually still sporadic here, worse than before even. At the moment I can't train my voice or talk after hitting the microphone button.... The Google app just isnt hearing me at all anywhere. The LG voice command app seems to work so I don't think it's my microphone.
It seemed to be working last night but I rebooted my phone this morning and now nothing

Yup. And when I attempt to retrain it, it says "listening" even after I say "OK Google". It just doesn't hear me. But I can press the mic icon and say "what time it is it" or any question like that without any issue at all.
Hmmmmm. I have found that the V10 does have some bugs. Not sure exactly why. For example, sometimes I see it disconnect from what is a very stable WiFi.

I haven't seen that, but I have noticed that the signal strength meter for the wifi seems to show a weaker signal than it did with my M9. And that the cell reception also seems a bit weaker as well.
It happens to me more at work than at home. Sometimes I have to switch to the Xfinity connection to watch Hulu. The WiFi at work isn't great. That's why we all hardwire our laptops.

My only similar scenario is watching Showtime at the gym. They have a Netgear router there. I have now watched all of the latest season of Homeland there (about 50 minutes per episode), and haven't had any disconnection issues.

Bluetooth crackling/static

Is anyone else having an issue when streaming music via Bluetooth? It sounds like static/crackling, kinda like the audio is being clipped at the higher end.
I just got the phone on Monday so I have time to try and exchange it if it could be a bad phone. Just not sure if it is a common issue or not.
Sent from my VS988 using Tapatalk
It could also be your Bluetooth device. try yhe device with other phones and see if the static persists. make sure you test 1 to 3 songs across the devices and make sure the songs are the same.

I too came from a V10. my V10 had plenty of problems, my Beats Solo 2 wireless would crack a lot, as well as my Jaybirds x2. once I got my G6 the only cracking I got was when I stepped out of rage. anyways I'm just saying to test things out with multiple devices, multiple Bluetooth devices would be ideal as well. don't just quickly assume it's not something. doesn't matter if it's a car or not tech is tech and some of it may be defected.

I can try other things but so far it does the exact same thing in my car and my wife's car. I am fairly certain it is related to the phone.

Just tried it with one of my Bluetooth speakers and I get the same issue. It almost seems like the more stuff connected to Bluetooth the worse it is.
So far it seems like it isn't as bad when I am not wearing my smart watch. I might try it with my fit bit disconnected too to test that theory.

I haven't had any issues with BT on my VS988.
So i just exchanged the phone for a new oneand have the same issue. It is definitely something related to the phoneand how it handles bluetooth because my V10 with the same apps and devices doesn't have this issue.

It does kinda suck, but I have a feeling it has to do with Android Wear app. So I think at some point I am going to do a factory reset and only install apps that don't use Bluetooth at all and then keep installing one at a time to see if I can narrow it down.

Definitely share your results. I sold my Nexus 6p or I would do some more testing as well.
I'm pretty sure it's a bug with the phone's bluetooth. It happens to me when connected to my Android Wear watch. If I turn off my watch, the crackling stops.
Yea, I am pretty positive it is Android Wear/Smart Watch related. I unpaired my watch from my phone and uninstalled Android Wear and the issue seems gone.
Weird.
EDIT: Nevermind, it's still there, it was better for a while.

LG & Verizon (SMH)
The Bluetooth is TERIBLE on these phones - The BLE doesn't work and too many devices paired (especially smart watches) messing up streaming something Awful. There are MANY software bugs especially using google music and many other programs/apps - the longer you use the phone to more the bugs will standout, but in LG's defense they have issued a software update, but with Verizon there's Really No Telling when will get it (if we get it)

Note 8 got one amazing feature and no one talks about it!

If you are heavy user of "OK Google" its time to rejoice! Note 8 can hear you even when the screen is off AND phone is not connected to charger. I just upgraded from S8+ and noticed this feature. I just wear an android wear watch to use OK Google as I love samsung phones but they never used to support this earlier Iike LG or Pixel/Nexus phones.
Now Bixby and Google together makes this a great phone for hands free usage.

I appreciate that it works but no pats on the back for Samsung for finally catching up.
Pity's they just recently broke Google assistant and it will no longer work with any media players anymore.
I loved how it worked with my Bluetooth helmet even while locked and I could ask it to play any song I wanted. Now it just tells me that I need to select a default music provider every time.
