Hello guys.
I'm using adopted storage since some weeks ago and it was working fine. I have a Sandisk 32GB Class 4 card.
But yesterday I slept and when I woke up, there was a notification saying SD Card was removed. But it wasn't. So I rebooted the phone, and nothing. My phone isn't recognizing the adopted SD Card, when I plug it on, Storage page from settings shows the card and "Checking..." but after some seconds it says the sd card isn't inserted.
I don't know what to do, gallery isn't opening, all apps are on sd card, music and pictures. I have access to nothing. Play services keeps crashing each 2 minutes. And I can't open the apps that aren't installed in SD Card, they crash while opening.
What to do now?

Same problem here. I'm running official CM13 nightlies with the stock CM kernel and the squid2 3.0.2-r2 recovery. My sd card is a 64GB Sandisk Ultra UHS-1 with 100% allocated to adopted storage. My /data partition is formatted using the f2fs filesystem, and I believe this transfers over to the adopted storage volume as well. This issue has happened in the past and previously I was able to correct the problem by plugging a USB card reader into the phone and letting it read the sd card that way. After it checked the card it started working again, and then I ejected the USB drive and put the sd card back in the phone and it was still working. This didn't work the most recent time I had this problem though, so I don't know if there is a hardware error, or maybe Android is not able to adequately handle filesystem errors that occur on the adopted volume. I'm going to see if I can recover the data in recovery with a USB connection, or maybe using this method (under Decrypting Android M adopted storage) if that doesn't work. I'm also going to run some tests on my sd card to look for bad flash or I/O errors. I have a 32GB card that I will test with adopted storage to try to narrow down the problem. Hope to have time in the next week to do this.

I've been having trouble with the sd card in my new RAZR. Just this morning I noticed that I had a new notification "Blank SD Card - SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem."
If I clicked the notification it gave me the option to format but it would never format the card. I was still able to mount the drive to my pc so I made a backup of all the files on the card to my computer.
I did quite a bit of searching on the forum and eventually came across a post that said to try formatting the card with this utility:
https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/
After I did a quick format with SD Formatter 3.1 I then noticed a new notification "Damaged internal storage - Storage damaged. You may have to reformat it."
Now I'm still able to mount the sd card on my pc via the phone but windows doesn't recognize any disk in the drive. I get this error "There is no disk in drive X. Insert a disk, and then try again."
Has anyone had this issue? Any idea what causes it and how to resolve it? At this point, I have a full backup of the contents, so I'm only concerned with resolving the sd card issues and making the notifications disappear.
Thanks
I had this issue, removed as card and blew into the slot and replaced the card, haven't had it happen again so far.

Yeah, I've powered down the phone, removed the card, replaced it and powered back on but I still have the same errors.
Called Verizon and they told me to go to one of their stores to see if swapping out a new SD Card would fix it. Hopefully the problem doesn't happen again.
Stopped by the Verizon store and they swapped out a new SD card. The "Blank SD Card - SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem" error went away but I still had the "Damaged internal storage - Storage damaged. You may have to reformat it" error. This time it allowed me to format the internal storage.
So it turns out that the SD card was completely hosed and the external SD card got corrupted, but after the format was resolved.
I'm still not sure what caused this but I hope it's not something regular as I have had the phone less than a week.
Every time i got a problem with any external device, like sd card, I use this powerfull tool Aconis Disk Director. It has a lot of options that maybe solve you problem.
I've been seeing this too. How do they swap out the internal sd?
Hey guys, I'm gonna try to explain this in most detail. Yesterday spontaneously my External MicroSD card couldn't be detected by my phone(Vibrant SGH-T959). First I thought a simple reboot would work although it failed. Second I have tried unmounting the SD card, and putting it back in and also didn't work. I decided to switch from my JellyBean 4.1.1 ROM back to Schimera v2.2 ICS. I thought the rom was causing the problem, although the problem continued on ICS. I have tried turning my phone off, taking the SD card and all of those combinations and none of them worked. I tried turning on and off USB debugging mode which didn't fix the problem either. I tried using the Computer Management to see if it detected at least my SD card and it didn't. The only way my SD card was actually red when I used a MicroSD adapter. I formatted the card from there and tried all of the solutions again and nothing worked aswell. So now I know that the SD card is working fine but just none being detected by phone or through the USB cable. So I decided to go into my settings > storage to find that my internal storage is only 1.85GB, my model is the 16GB version and I checked previously before. As I scroll down I realize there is something called USB Storage right underneath it and it says 12.67GB which is supposed to be the amount for the Internal SD card. This part is why I'm horribly confused. Also underneath that there is the SD Card and it only displays one button which says Mount SD Card which is disabled when I put the SD card in or out. I tried the option on top for Erase SD Card and it didn't work either. I looked through quite a few threads on this forum trying the ways I mentioned in this thread and they didn't work. Any help is highly appreciated. Thank you
*NEW* I just installed DoubleTwist from the android Play market and when I went into settings and tapped on storage this is what came up: Internal (0.0GB) Memory Card (12.8GB) For one, my phone has 16GB internal storage, My memory card is only 8 GB. *NEW*
*NEW TEST* I tried putting my microSD card into my sister device and it worked on hers, I tried putting her SD card into my vibrant and it didn't read it either!*NEW TEST*
Your 1.85 is the part of your 16gb Vibrant that us partitioned for apps. The 12.67gb is your internal SD. And your other setting should be your external SD or emmc card.
When you say you can't see your external are you looking at external and it isn't showing anything with a file explorer? Try looking in your emmc folder. Have you tried another card?

Thanks for clearing that up for me, and I can't access my card in the file explorer either. I don't have an EMMC folder and I tried going into recovery to "mount emmc" but it just gave me an error. Also I did not try another card because I don't have one lying around.. Plus when I rebooted my phone in the notification menu it says Checking SD card for errors and then it disappears. There is no message once that one leaves.

I have Android one device running Marshmallow 6.0, i have Micro SD card formatted as internal storage, everything worked fine, my internal storage got increased.
But all of sudden (approx after 2 weeks), the device has stopped recognizing the SD Card, i am getting a notification to reinsert the SD Card device.
I have reinserted the SD card number of times, but it's not recognizing the card. Although the same SD Card is shown from another device.
What can i do to get it working? is there any workaround or i need to again reformat it to FAT32 from ext4.
Hi,
I have huge issues with my SDCard. Since I'm on CM13 and formated the SD as internal memory, the card becomes corrupted after a few weeks. My first card which was replaced suddenly caused the system to freeze and then it would not Boot while the card was inserted. Every attempt to reformatreformat in TWRP (which initially did not boot with inserted card too) or in Windows were unsuccessful so I assume the card was broken on a low level.
The new card shows similar signs after only a week (read only fs errors) but I was able to reformat in Android to the "normal" external Mode. I should mention that it is a 64GB Sdxc card. It the only difference between sdxc and sdhc is filesystem support right?
Does anyone have issues with internal memory mode?
Recently purchased the Cat S60 (Android 6.0.1), which has so far proven to be a fantastic phone, however, the SD Card, a Lexar 128GB, has a habit of suddenly becoming "corrupt", but it isn't. I plug it into my computer with a reader, do a chkdsk, finds no problems, and plug it back into the phone, but it still shows up as corrupt. However, if I reboot the phone a few times, it suddenly realizes it isn't corrupt.
My question is, is there a reason for this happening, and if so, is there a way to fix it?
I would backup everything on your SD Card to your PC. Format SD Card in the S60, once you have formatted the SD Card in the S60,
To Format the SD Card in S60. Go to Setting --> Storage & USB
- Select the SD Card in question
- Select the 3 vertical dotes and select settings
- Select Format (Format as Internal makes the SD card part of the internal memory)
transfer the contents back to the SD Card. You might found a corrupt file while copying over which could be causing the SD getting corrupt all the time.
I have the same issue with my nvidia shield k1 and have found a lot of people having same problems with marshmallow phones.its probably the integrated space formatting.
