flash encr2b on evitareul - HTC One X+

Hello,
I have an HTC ONE X+ ATT evitareul. I would like to move it up to android 4.4 or higher. I know that for the evitareul the highest current version is 4.2.2. I have read that you cannot use encr2b roms, but have not been able to find out why.
I have read that the only difference between this device and the encr2b is the lte radio. I do not intend to use this phone on a cell network. I only intend on using it on WIFI only. Would it still be ok to flash an encr2b rom or is there another reason as to why it will not work?
Thanks in advance!

Don't even try to flash a enrc2b rom! It's not about if you want to use LTE or not... It's because of the processor inside a device. The international version uses a 4-core Tegra chip, while the US version a 2-core Snapdragon. That's the main difference between them.

What is the main difference between radio versions?

Hi.
I see that some custom roms include radie versions 17.xx and 16.xx. Does the Radio make a difference? And what king of difference.
Is the radio only for reception and such? I have TELIA 3g (Sweden).
And if I use a custom rom and whant to install update of the same rom builder do i lose everything installed on the phone?
Same question as OP
Hi, I've been trying to search for answers to the same question of this OP. What are the differences between radio 16.x and radio 17.x? I know in most cases we are advised to stick with the 16.x radio, but are there places/advantages to radio 17.x?
been wondering the same thing over here
Well, one thing that's different, which many have pointed out before, is that radio 17.5.xx won't work for my phone (AT&T - unbranded). I'm guessing it has to do with the hardware they are using... The unbranded phones get 850/900/2100 MHz. and AT&T uses 850/1900 MHz, So I'm guessing the 17.5 radio updates unbranded and 16.5 works for AT&T. As to what differences the updates do? We may never know,,, The truth is out there! But Mulder and Scully are retired

Which Thread Do I Use?

Which thread do I use if I have the unlocked version but am on AT&T? Not the international version just the unlocked one through HTC.
Pick one. The gsm forums are split and don't need to be. I'm running an att based rom on an international kernel. Hopefully this madness will end and the forums can be merged.

[Q] One x+ At&t, international rom

I was curious whether it is possible to flash a International rom, on the at&t model, as the international version has a lot more active development.
and if it is possible, are there any problems with the phone on an international rom?
Thanks
cogs top right press it and you'll find your answer. aka search button!
Short answer no it isn't they use different radios, kernels and base versions. You have to flash the particular type of rom for your phone.

[Q] Can I flash T-Mobile ROM on a unlocked AT&T HTC One - I know this is silly

Hey!
Its been a longtime that I've had a android phone!
I know its a silly question but can somebody let me know if I can flash a T-Mobile ROM on a AT&T HTC One?
I know hardware wise they are same, but just want to make sure.
Also, I know there is nothing as best ROM.
But can anyone suggest me 2 ROM's with minimum issues?
One Stock ROM, other themed ROM.
PS: - I like the HTC Sense

Any gsm(att, tmobile, international) rom should work on your phone. Just make sure, when flashing, select the att files if applicable. Also when flashing, use the kernel that is compatible with you device. So Elemenalx or teamm7 kernel.
I would suggest flashing ROMs from the international HTC one thread because there are a lot more ROMs avaliable. I am picking between insert coin or the viper one rom. Both are stable and on the latest version of sense and Android. Insert coin has a theme if you install the kustomizer. Another rom that is not as stable is the RENOVATE rom. It has a full theme and amazing battery life.
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The ATT One and T-Mobile One are NOT the same.
The TMO unit has a different radio chipset to be able to operate on T-Mobiles 1700 / 2100 paired set. The ATT unit does not have these.

As your phone is SIM-unlocked, it shouldn't turn it locked when you flash the new update. At least, it didn't so to my SIM-unlocked AT&T HTC One.

[Q] Can't connect to 3G after installing MaximusHD 10.0.0

Hi,
i own a HTC One S (16GB) device, am running a custom rom (MaximusHD 10.0.1), Android 4.2.2, Htc Sense 5.0, rooted, TWRP 2.7 recovery, HBoot 2.16, Radio 1.20.50.05.16, Carrier is Tmobile, supercid 11111111 and bootloader unlocked. i recently installed maximusHD 10.0.0 everything works fine expect for the network connectivity, i can only make use of 2G (edge) signal but i can't switch to 3G only. Whenever i switch to 3G only my networks goes off but when i switch back to 2G it works perfectly please i would be glad if you guys can help me out
You have the official Tmo version or an international version of the phone? That rom is for the international version and might not be set up to properly utlilize the bands of Tmo service 100 is the first thing that comes to mind.
Confirmed: International version of One S does not utlilize any of the bands for T-Mobile past 2G / Edge.
From HTC's website:
HSPA/WCDMA:2
Europe/Asia: 850/900/2100 MHz
GSM/GPRS/EDGE:
850/900/1800/1900 MHz
T-Mobile HSPA/WCDMA uses a combo of the 1900 Mhz frequency and a combo 1700/2100 AWS band.
I don't know if I get you correctly but if this is what you mean my device displays either GSM OR WCDMA so that mean I have the official tmobile version
I'm confused...you don't know if your phone came from T-Mobile or not?
My HTC one s is from T-Mobile, pls can help with the situation would really appreciate it
Ok. When you installed the rom, did you also install another radio or firmware package as well? As in the one that was listed in the OP of the rom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2445392 ? If so, that is probably why. The rom and radio are for the international version of your phone, not the one from T-Mobile. Now, obviously the phone are so similar that the software works on both versions. The only difference is the data bands that are supported for 3g/4g and the radios that interface with those bands. So, if you have never changed your radio like it was suggested in the thread for that rom - change your rom to one based off of T-Mobile software. If you have changed the radio, then flash one for the T-mobile version, and you should be fine. If it doesn't work after that, you'll just want to make sure both the rom and radio are for the T-Mobile version.
Thanks man, I think I messed up my device and a newbies to this time installation things. I actually followed the instructions given in the maximushd Rom, I flash the firmware packages with my tmobile version device. Pls what can I do to fix this I need your help

Are you S-Off?
If so: http://d-h.st/7V7 - It's a large file with the Aroma Installer to let you pick which radio you want. I believe you'd be looking for the T-Mous 1.13 one. If you aren't S-Off - Don't bother with that.
S-On?
If so, you need to re-lock the bootloader and run the RUU (Rom Update Utility) to get everything back on track, then you can re-unlock the bootloader and redo the recovery and rom stuff. http://www.androidruu.com/getdownlo..._10.30.50.08L_release_309489_signed_ICS_2.exe
