Is Kingoroot safe? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i was wondering if Kingoroot is safe to use. I want to root my phone but i'm really new at rooting and i don't know too much about rooting.
Thanks in advance

Yes
It is however I recommend KingRoot as it is better and safer (kingroot.net)

kingoroot worked to root my old lg volt but....
...but I have a moto g3 that I rooted with twrp, and I now recognize the danger of the rooting apps. See after routing my moto g3 I installed all kinds of stupid apps that I really didn't understand. I screwed up the phone about five times now. The reason I could do that though, is because twrp has my back. Every time I have the phone running great, I create a backup in twrp. So when I get things too screwy I just go back to one of my backups.
What I'm saying is KINGOROOT is NOT AS DANGEROUS AS YOU CAN BE TO YOUR PHONE WITH ROOT PERMISSIONS AND NO RECOVERY. Every app in the playstore that requires root can screw up your phone. Believe me ive screwed the pooch enough to know.

Zv6 ota still shows as rooted

So long story short. I got this phone 12/20. I stump rooted it, and noob move took the ota to zv6. Lost root as we all know. Thing is I opened root check by mistake the other day and it shows as rooted. Just to see I tried to install super su, but it says binary not installed. Any ideas? The lg og was the first phone I played with and had it rooted and unlocked right after getting it. Never took an ota on that phone. This g3 is a bit of a different animal then I'm used too.

I think, it's not really rooted. If you do want to root, you can follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-how-to-restore-sprint-lg-g3-ls990-t2852042
Sorry if this doesn't help answer your question.
Thanks. I've been thinking of trying the roll back to zv4. Unfortunately my wife went and bought an iMac and my PC is in the closet. I do have an old laptop lying around I might be able to try it on. Thanks.
I'm thinking its not rooted either because of zv6 breaking root. Thinking maybe its just a side effect of me taking the ota on a rooted device like I shouldn't have?
I read about trying to flash twrp with flashify just to see if it would take but scared to even try as I don't want to screw this phone up. I sold my og so I have no backup.

All you can do is flash back ZV4, use stump root to root again, flash recovery, then flash superuser. You can also flash the deodexed zv6.
Thanks. Kinda what I thought but figured it didn't hurt to ask.

[Q] Custom ROMs for the LG Transpyre (VS810PP)

Hi Everyone,
I've seen this question posted randomly in threads for other topics but didn't see a thread for the question itself so thought Id put it out there because
1. I'm curious to the answer myself.
2. Having this thread might back the search for others with the same question slightly less time consuming and a whole lot easier.
That being said, does anyone out there know of any custom roms for, or ones that will work on, the LG VS810PP (Transpyre)?? Also, since (as far as I can tell) the Transpyre and the LG Tribute are essentially the same phone, could one use a custom rom for the Tribute on the Transpyre? Surely, I wont be stuck with staying on stock! I MUST MOD!!! :cyclops: :fingers-crossed:
Any and all help IS GREATLY and WHOLEHEARTEDLY appreciated! Thanks soooo much in advance.
Calling all Modders! Calling all Modders!
I have this device as well and would love to get off the stock Rom an instal CM or other, hate the bloatware an Rom over all seems sluggish. I am sure there is someone with the knowledge out there that has this device an can help!!!!! Calling all Transpyre Modders! Its time to Rom Out!
Root, but no rom
Im a Transpyre user and was able to succesfully root but have yet to find any custom roms. in the meantime i have removed lots of bloatware and things are running a lil better and my battery is lasting a bit longer.
I was able to root, de-bloat and install TWRP. I also made a backup and was able to restore. I know that's not much info but every little bit helps.

A backup of the stock recovery? If so I'd love one of those right now, can't install 5.1.1 OTA without it (and I don't think I can install 5.1.1 with TWRP without someone making a custom flashable ROM?).
Does anyone have a list of the bloatware I can safely disable or uninstall? A short description of it would also be nice if possible to see if it's something I need or not. I am rooted and also have the transpyre. Not a bad phone for the price.
Same here I've been scouring the net looking for a custom Rom for the transpyre but cannot seem to find anything for it, makes me wonder why this phone is not so cared for as If it were a contract phone
I know what you mean, I understand wasn't a very popular phone but I know you and I ain't the only ones that have it. Just have to be patient I guess and wait for someone that has worked on it to help is.

I used the kinguser app to get root on it. I doubted it would work but It did The trick. make sure you update the King user app to prevent most apps from saying you don't have root, also, A strange thing happened though I used the jrummy root checker and now it says my phone is an Lg F60. Not sure if that's a bad thing. Also keep in mind you will lose your custom recovery I've been looking for ways to flash the twrp/cwm recoveries but it seems to be locked to the stock recovery. I've been putting it off but I'm going to test pushing the files through adb and see if that does anything. I'll let you know whether It bricks or not
GRRR transpyre root
Any confirmations on kinguser app root for transpyre?

I used king root to root mine and have had no issue. I used the one for without pc

I unboxed by Transpyre yesterday, it was running 5.1.1
I also used kingroot straight from kingroot.net to root mine, then SuperSU Me Pro to remove the Kingroot Apps. Reliable root now, been debloating today.
Kingroot method works
I also used Kingroot to root my phone then replaced the kingroot app with SuperSU

Do you have a backup of your rom? and could you post a link to it?
I was able to root using Kingroot 4.5 and replace it with SuperSU using the "Super-Sume Pro 9.2.1 apk" All newer versions of the Super-Sume Pro .apk hung up during the first phase of its operation and all of the free versions of Super-Sume I had tried (the most recent) caused my phone to hang at the Verizon screen during reboot.
I found a YouTube video:
"How to Install CyanogenMOD 12 on the LG F60 and LG Tribute"
Which claimed the procedure was the same for the Transpyre (vs810pp) and included links to another video:
"How To Install TWRP Recovery on the LG F60, LG Tribute and LG Transpyre"
As well as a download link for "twrp-2.8.6.0-e2nav.img" which is supposed to be correct for the Transpyre (vs810pp) phone.
However after I installed "twrp-2.8.6.0-e2nav.img" I received an error during reboot: "Secure booting Error! Error Code : 1003" Afterword my phone would not do a factory reset, and only displayed that error message on every attempt..
I had since installed:
csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FW07S65232BYAJX41F92ORK/VS810PU4_08_ARB01.kdz
(The factory 5.1.1 ROM which I found here in another thread) restoring the factory recovery ROM using the guide: "How to flash firmware to LG smart phone with LG Flash Tool 2014" I was able to repair the boot error.
How are you guys getting TWRP to work well? Would one of you be kind enough to point me in the direction of the the TWRP file that is successfully being used?
Would any of you guys currently running TWRP be able to provide your bootloader and dependency files?
If so would you kindly make them available over at :
xda-developers - Android Development and Hacking - Miscellaneous Android Development - [RECOVERY][e2nam] TWRP 2.8.5.0 touch recovery LG MS395
It appears that there may be another, far more advanced enthusiast (I believe the author of the "twrp-2.8.6.0-e2nav.img" I mentioned earlier) posting over there who could potentially be able to put together something useful for those of us running the Lollipop 5.1.1 factory ROM.
does anyone have a stock rom? Im seriously screwed here without one

How to root the Kyocera hydro air C6745

I've had the Kyocera hydro air for sometime now and tried kingroot and many similar apps but nothing seems to work to root my phone so if anyone has any information on how to root my phone I'll be very thankful and will appreciate any help I can't get.
I've tried everything... Seems to be locked up tighter than a gnat's behind.
Sent from my KYOCERA-C6745 using Tapatalk
Use kingroot apk, but you need to remove your SD card(that's the reason why many say Kingroot doesn't work)The bad news is that, it won't be permanent rooted. So do what you wanna do with your phone as long as it's rooted and if you wanna keep it rooted, don't turn it off or restart it. I rooted mine that way and installed titanium backup and got rid of some bloatware

So just use the app without the SD card in the phone? Do I remove it right before I open the app and root, and do I have to restart after? I got temp root once with the kingoroot PC app but titanium backup didn't actually remove bloat, it just said it did. Thanks!

I had an issue with this phone, i did temp root it and install supersu instead of kingroot using supersume. First of all, everything was going well, but after a few days the kingroot app started to increase its size up to the point it almost reached 1Gb in size. So I decided to uninstall it, and I got rid of that phone, I gave it to my son, he doesn't need a rooted phone anyway!
P.D. I did not reset my phone in the days it was temp rooted because it would lose root access after a reset. But anyway, I've got me a LG G Stylo H634 and I did root it using kingroot. This is everything left of my bloatware

I had this same issue with my Kyocera hydro air C6745
I was able to temp/broken root my phone with the sd card still installed with kingroot and it said it rooted, tried to do supersu and it failed saying something was locked.(been a few days).
Rebooting obviously gets rid of the fake root. Titanium Backup did not really remove bloat at all, the space was never actually freed up either.
Seems to be a lost cause. I decided to unlock the phone through ATT's online method and had it pin unlocked within 5 minutes.
Just collecting dust as a backup phone for whenever it is called to duty.
On to the LG G Stylo. I have the LG G Stylo H631(T-Mobile variant, the best of all of them), man this phone is still beautiful to this very day.
It's my main phone, I bought it on eBay for around 20 bucks+Free S&H about a week ago and it was clean IMEI just google account locked(I removed it easily) and in amazing condition.
She is better than my Samsung note 4's and 5's I've owned.
Muuuuch more stable as well. I have not had a single hiccup with it.

I was able to gain root access for about 2 minutes before phone reset itself using kingoroot. Has anyone found an exploit or any other rooting methods?
I have been trying to root my kyocera hydro root since I got it but have had no success, I have tried every root method I could find but all have failed. The closest was kingoroot that did get su installed 2 times but the location of su was not able to update and upon reboot disappeared.

Has anyone had any more luck rooting the Kyocera Hydro View? As the others before me, I've had temporary luck with Kingo Root, but nothing beyond that. This phone desperately needs Marshmallow or at least root so that the default app install location can be changed. I can live with all it's other faults, but the storage situation is hard to get past. I had hoped to be able to root and use something like link2sd or even do a 'pm set-install-location 2' to make use of external storage and get more than only a few apps installed at a time, but no luck with only the temporary root provided by Kingo Root. The improved storage management available in Marshmallow would be ideal, but I'm trying not to get my hopes too high for that.
Have you tried Kingroot? you can usually get temp root to uninstall apps, but it might reboot itself, but if your fast, you can make changes before you lose root. But you will lose your ability to get cricket updates. You'll get a warning that the device is suspected of rooting.

I finally got it to permanently root with Kingo Root. Took numerous times running it and phone sometimes rebooted, updated and optimized files. Did eventually root and stick permanently but took A LOT of patience. Have to keep running Kingo Root and rebooting phone. It will also reboot itself sometimes, have to let it do its thing. Again, lots of patience, rebooting phone, restarting Kingo Root, waiting, rebooting, re-starting Kingo Root...................on and on. Like 10 times or more maybe.
After root, how to get the system?

After those 10 times, did the root finally stick? Bit confused by your post? Do you still have to re-root after reboot or is it permanent?
Did any one root and flash this Kyocera Hydro View from Cricket?
Was any one successfully to root this one and install new Nougat or other OS ? is this compatible?
Does any one know how to flash this with coustom recovery TWRP etc ? as I know this doesn't go in to recovery and don't want to brick this with out having a reimage Any insights are welcome!

I see two websites for Kingo Root. Which one do I trust?
While KingoRoot was a failure, KingRoot seems to temporarily acquire root after much work, only to lose it on next reboot. Unfortunately, but has allowed me to at least remove some bloatware on this 3.5GB internal storage device. Wew.
While signing up for Cricket and finding out my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4G from 2007 wouldn't work on their network, made a snap buy of the Kyocera. None of the 3 people spoken to while signing up with Cricket mentioned an online promotion for portaling an existing number in which I could have gotten a better phone for free or a good discount on a much, much better phone. Found out next day and wanted to take advantage of the promotion but everyone says, 'portal already happened, you missed out, we own your ****, too late.'
So far I am not impressed with their customer service. My bad for snap buy of the Kyocera deserves no praise, however.
Will try it!

May someone please help me root an LG Premier LTE?

Hello all! I am currently trying to root an LG Premier LTE
5.1.1 lollipop
Straight talk
Please help me, also thank you very much for your time
I have this phone also and I have searched high and low. At a glance it doesn't look good. I hear people saying things like a locked bootloader and unrootable. I remember the Motorola Atrix 2, and what a nightmare that whole thing was for me and my woman. I'ma give this phone to my daughter. She would love it for a birthday present. If this phone cannot be rooted, and if the bootloader is locked, and nothing comes of this it is useless to me. So if a bootloader is locked does that mean this device is unrootable? Any of you developers thank you for your time in advance, is there such thing as an unrootable Android? If I come up on any information I will post it here on your thread my friend
I'm also looking to root this phone. Hopefully someone will come up with a way. I remember when the Samsung Galaxy J3 came out and it took a while before someone came up with a root method for it. If I find any new information, I will also post it here.
Locked bootloader doesn't mean unrootable. You can root with a rooting app, then before rebooting, use flashify to flash the stock kernel(boot.img)
Ive tried Kingroot and other one click methods. Also tried kingoroot on the pc. All failed. Tried using adb reboot bootloader and it just reboots the phone and adb reboot recovery only gives you the option of factory reset.

Or are u just lying to troll all of us as u can tell it means a great deal to us and lying doesnt make any progression
I have same phone and I have tried everything...........if anyone knows a way post here please and thanks!!
I also have this phone. Would love to root it but none of the above were successful: King Root. Kingo root. Srs root. One Click Root. Stump root. Towelroot. LG one Click. Lol ive tried them all.
Has anyone done anything or had any succuess with this phone? Seems to be a higher priced but lower end phone.... My LG G2 from 4 years ago still blows this phone away. I shouldnt have jumped on this phone when my G4 broke. Should have just spent $20 on a throw away for while in the bind and explored my options.
Just a thought here but....
I have read the LG K10 is the "SAME" phone? and that the "LG Premier LTE" is just the renamed version of the K10 for Straight Talks services.... Can anyone confirm or deny that we could use the Root methods, Recoverys and or flash system images etc. from the K10?
Has any successfully rooted this phone yet?
I was able to temporarily root it with King root but as soon as you restart or turn off the phone, root is gone.
After getting temp root through kingroot we will need a custom recovery. Frash that before the phone reboots. Once it reboots. Go to recovery and flash a supersu zip. The only thing we are missing is a custom recovery.....

Open McAfee security, sign up and get into the security options. Then disable it's root blocker.

I wouldn't hold my breath. If this hasn't been rooted by now, it most likely won't be.
I've been waiting for months and at this point will have a new phone before anyone takes the time to figure out how to root this one.
