May someone please help me root an LG Premier LTE? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all! I am currently trying to root an LG Premier LTE
5.1.1 lollipop
Straight talk
Please help me, also thank you very much for your time

I have this phone also and I have searched high and low. At a glance it doesn't look good. I hear people saying things like a locked bootloader and unrootable. I remember the Motorola Atrix 2, and what a nightmare that whole thing was for me and my woman. I'ma give this phone to my daughter. She would love it for a birthday present. If this phone cannot be rooted, and if the bootloader is locked, and nothing comes of this it is useless to me. So if a bootloader is locked does that mean this device is unrootable? Any of you developers thank you for your time in advance, is there such thing as an unrootable Android? If I come up on any information I will post it here on your thread my friend

I'm also looking to root this phone. Hopefully someone will come up with a way. I remember when the Samsung Galaxy J3 came out and it took a while before someone came up with a root method for it. If I find any new information, I will also post it here.

Locked bootloader doesn't mean unrootable. You can root with a rooting app, then before rebooting, use flashify to flash the stock kernel(boot.img)

Ive tried Kingroot and other one click methods. Also tried kingoroot on the pc. All failed. Tried using adb reboot bootloader and it just reboots the phone and adb reboot recovery only gives you the option of factory reset.

Anyone able to root this yet?

Has anyone figured out how yet?

Yes I rooted it

How'd you do it? :fingers-crossed:

Can u please tell us how we can root the LG Premier Lte
Or are u just lying to troll all of us as u can tell it means a great deal to us and lying doesnt make any progression

I have same phone and I have tried everything...........if anyone knows a way post here please and thanks!!

I also have this phone. Would love to root it but none of the above were successful: King Root. Kingo root. Srs root. One Click Root. Stump root. Towelroot. LG one Click. Lol ive tried them all.
Has anyone done anything or had any succuess with this phone? Seems to be a higher priced but lower end phone.... My LG G2 from 4 years ago still blows this phone away. I shouldnt have jumped on this phone when my G4 broke. Should have just spent $20 on a throw away for while in the bind and explored my options.

Just a thought here but....
I have read the LG K10 is the "SAME" phone? and that the "LG Premier LTE" is just the renamed version of the K10 for Straight Talks services.... Can anyone confirm or deny that we could use the Root methods, Recoverys and or flash system images etc. from the K10?

Has any successfully rooted this phone yet?

I was able to temporarily root it with King root but as soon as you restart or turn off the phone, root is gone.

After getting temp root through kingroot we will need a custom recovery. Frash that before the phone reboots. Once it reboots. Go to recovery and flash a supersu zip. The only thing we are missing is a custom recovery.....

Need Me Some TWRP Love.

Wonder if the TWRP guys are working on this? :fingers-crossed:

It should be just like every other LG phone
Open McAfee security, sign up and get into the security options. Then disable it's root blocker.

anyone been able to figure this out yet????

I wouldn't hold my breath. If this hasn't been rooted by now, it most likely won't be.
I've been waiting for months and at this point will have a new phone before anyone takes the time to figure out how to root this one.

[Q] Root Samsung Galaxy Legend SCH-I200PP

I can't find any threads on this device but it is a really good phone and it was just on sale for Black Friday at Walmart.
I have tried everything to root this phone but to no avail. From what I can see, this phone is identical to the Galaxy Stellar except it is for Verizon Prepaid. Any ideas?
I have the same curiosity!
I forgot some details. I have tried the Bin4ry root tool and DebugFS. Both gave me "Permission Denied" errors which seems to indicate that this phone has a new security patch to work around.
I finally found the solution. Use Cydia Impactor. I can't post a link but just google it.

anyone having luck with a custom recovery ? any success with loki?
can someone please post a linkl to a stock rom cause i didnt back mine up and now it is screwed.
If you have received the MK2 patch and lost root or just now thinking about rooting your Legend, There is still a way.
It's called Safe Root. It's designed for the S4 but it works on the Legend just fine. I failed to do restore root when the patch went to my phone, I consequently lost root, tried to root again with Cydia and V Root, and they both failed. After going through the search process again, I found Safe Root here:

Thanks to dev. k1mu for this great work.

In case someone needs to know...
When I connected my phone via USB it initially was "Connected as an installer". Running the saferoot script in this mode didn't work as it would revert to MTP mode midway through. Putting the connection into MTP mode before running the saferoot script worked like a charm.
Thanks to all involved in making this happen and finding out that it works for the Galaxy Legend.
sch-I200pp factory rom
I have a samsung sch-I200pp factory os, trying to get familar w drop box to help out where I was having the same problem. Tips?
Prepaid to postpaid
I ended up getting a Samsung Galaxy Legend, but of course it is a Prepaid phone and I'm on postpaid. Does anyone know by chance, if I root this phone, is there a way to reprogram it or unlock it from prepaid so I can use it on postpaid? Thanks for your help...There's gotta be a way, right? It's just unlocking it, I think all Verizon does is put in a code. Thanks in advance!
Anyone with a rooted SCH-i200PP can please provide me with a copy of the /system/etc ??

Have you rooted your G3 yet?

Just wanted to see if everyone is diving in and rooting their devices or not. As of right now, I'm still running stock. Haven't found much of a reason to root but would be to nice to have wifi tether and adblock. With one click root, I'm so tempted but still holding off in case any updates. So, have you gone ahead and rooted your new G3 yet?
I rooted mine specifically to disable updates. I'm not so much afraid of root exploits getting patched as I am any potential bootloader exploits being patched. I came from the galaxy s3, which got a bootloader update mid way through that was never cracked, so I'm little worried about that if I wait to long I can never unlock the bootloader. So far I've installed titanium backup, root explorer, and the kit kat sd card fix (no need for hotspot hack since I don't have unlimited data). I'm holding off on anything too major until the bootloader is unlocked and I can do a nandroid first.
I rooted the day I got my g3. I rooted and installed custom roms on my g2 and can't wait to do the same on my g3
Sent from my LG G3
I actually got a demo model from VZW, rooted that one, just to see how hard it was going to be, When I got my permanent one a few days later I rooted it out of the box, before installing anything else.
rooted and uninstalled what I could installed xposed tweaked to my liking and waiting for bootloader recovery and roms

Had my G3 a couple of days before I rooted it. It was so simple to do. one of the 1st things I did was get it setup as a hotspot.
As with most of my phones, my G3 was rooted as soon as the battery was charged, and usually before being activated. Now if we could just get a bootloader unlock. :fingers-crossed:

which method are you using for the hotspot? That's a main reason I'd want to root but I believe the method in the dev. section, based on reading peoples comments, it's still not that reliable and requires extra steps to get it working.
I want to root just don't want to screw up my brand new phone. I've always rooted my phones but past couple phones I didn't cause they were locked down so I'm weary to jump back into it lol Everyone using stump root? Seems pretty straightforward with that method for us Verizon guys.

You honestly asked that on XDA???
The question is not "who rooted", but who didn't root?
Me?
1. Out of the box.
2. Activated enough with no SIM to get to ADB
3. Root.
4. Turn off and remove bloat (includes de-activating OTA).
5. Now activate normally and use phone.
My phones go from box to root in under 5 minutes.

I went off of this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/development/mod-verizon-g3-hotspotmod-g2-apk-t2852152 but with a twist after I read the directions. I used Root Explorer to change the names and copy files. Post #15 helped me a lot.
1, download HotspotProvisionVsG3Mod.apk from 1st post and rename to HotspotProvision.apk
2, search for HotspotProvision.apk and HotspotProvision.odex in /system/app. I added .bak to both of them.
3, now copy HotspotProvision.apk that you remaned to /system/app. Change permission's to rw-r-r-
4, reboot

True. But I'm sure there are a fair share of people who don't root and just follow all the other stuff. Did you use stump root to root?

I also used IORoot and it's very easy, Stump wasn't out when I rooted mine but from what I've read Stump is super easy and reliable.
I walked out of Best But, phone activated and Battery at like 70% and hopped on my laptop which I had with me and rooted the phone right there in the parking lot so that I could freeze System Updates right away.
Although Verizon is so slow with OTA updates anyways I really could have waited lol
Root that thing then remove all the Verizon junk and use Greenify... You'll be even more happy with how your G3 runs after doing that and it's quite easy to do.

yup me too
Becoming more tempted everyday lol My only fear is if the bootloader unlock takes longer than expected, and no recovery access is created so if Verizon releases an update, even if someone pulls the update we won't be able to install because our modded phones and of course, no rom due to no recovery. Maybe I'm thinking too much into it. It's been awhile for me.

The flip side of that is the first update could lock out all root methods and any potential bootloader exploits. There are a lot of smart people on this board, so I'd wager someone will find a safe way to update if no bootloader unlock is discovered by the time it's released.

Very true. Thanks for that link. I'm just afraid of my screwing up my brand new toy haha Not sure why though, it seems stump root is really straight foward. [Q] Custom ROMs for the LG Transpyre (VS810PP)

Hi Everyone,
I've seen this question posted randomly in threads for other topics but didn't see a thread for the question itself so thought Id put it out there because
1. I'm curious to the answer myself.
2. Having this thread might back the search for others with the same question slightly less time consuming and a whole lot easier.
That being said, does anyone out there know of any custom roms for, or ones that will work on, the LG VS810PP (Transpyre)?? Also, since (as far as I can tell) the Transpyre and the LG Tribute are essentially the same phone, could one use a custom rom for the Tribute on the Transpyre? Surely, I wont be stuck with staying on stock! I MUST MOD!!! :cyclops: :fingers-crossed:
Any and all help IS GREATLY and WHOLEHEARTEDLY appreciated! Thanks soooo much in advance.
Calling all Modders! Calling all Modders!
I have this device as well and would love to get off the stock Rom an instal CM or other, hate the bloatware an Rom over all seems sluggish. I am sure there is someone with the knowledge out there that has this device an can help!!!!! Calling all Transpyre Modders! Its time to Rom Out!
Root, but no rom
Im a Transpyre user and was able to succesfully root but have yet to find any custom roms. in the meantime i have removed lots of bloatware and things are running a lil better and my battery is lasting a bit longer.
I was able to root, de-bloat and install TWRP. I also made a backup and was able to restore. I know that's not much info but every little bit helps.

A backup of the stock recovery? If so I'd love one of those right now, can't install 5.1.1 OTA without it (and I don't think I can install 5.1.1 with TWRP without someone making a custom flashable ROM?).
Does anyone have a list of the bloatware I can safely disable or uninstall? A short description of it would also be nice if possible to see if it's something I need or not. I am rooted and also have the transpyre. Not a bad phone for the price.
Same here I've been scouring the net looking for a custom Rom for the transpyre but cannot seem to find anything for it, makes me wonder why this phone is not so cared for as If it were a contract phone
I know what you mean, I understand wasn't a very popular phone but I know you and I ain't the only ones that have it. Just have to be patient I guess and wait for someone that has worked on it to help is.

I used the kinguser app to get root on it. I doubted it would work but It did The trick. make sure you update the King user app to prevent most apps from saying you don't have root, also, A strange thing happened though I used the jrummy root checker and now it says my phone is an Lg F60. Not sure if that's a bad thing. Also keep in mind you will lose your custom recovery I've been looking for ways to flash the twrp/cwm recoveries but it seems to be locked to the stock recovery. I've been putting it off but I'm going to test pushing the files through adb and see if that does anything. I'll let you know whether It bricks or not

Do you have a backup of your rom? and could you post a link to it?
I was able to root using Kingroot 4.5 and replace it with SuperSU using the "Super-Sume Pro 9.2.1 apk" All newer versions of the Super-Sume Pro .apk hung up during the first phase of its operation and all of the free versions of Super-Sume I had tried (the most recent) caused my phone to hang at the Verizon screen during reboot.
I found a YouTube video:
"How to Install CyanogenMOD 12 on the LG F60 and LG Tribute"
Which claimed the procedure was the same for the Transpyre (vs810pp) and included links to another video:
"How To Install TWRP Recovery on the LG F60, LG Tribute and LG Transpyre"
As well as a download link for "twrp-2.8.6.0-e2nav.img" which is supposed to be correct for the Transpyre (vs810pp) phone.
However after I installed "twrp-2.8.6.0-e2nav.img" I received an error during reboot: "Secure booting Error! Error Code : 1003" Afterword my phone would not do a factory reset, and only displayed that error message on every attempt..
I had since installed:
csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FW07S65232BYAJX41F92ORK/VS810PU4_08_ARB01.kdz
(The factory 5.1.1 ROM which I found here in another thread) restoring the factory recovery ROM using the guide: "How to flash firmware to LG smart phone with LG Flash Tool 2014" I was able to repair the boot error.
How are you guys getting TWRP to work well? Would one of you be kind enough to point me in the direction of the the TWRP file that is successfully being used?
Would any of you guys currently running TWRP be able to provide your bootloader and dependency files?
If so would you kindly make them available over at :
xda-developers - Android Development and Hacking - Miscellaneous Android Development - [RECOVERY][e2nam] TWRP 2.8.5.0 touch recovery LG MS395
It appears that there may be another, far more advanced enthusiast (I believe the author of the "twrp-2.8.6.0-e2nav.img" I mentioned earlier) posting over there who could potentially be able to put together something useful for those of us running the Lollipop 5.1.1 factory ROM.

Root for ZTE Max Duo? (Z963VL Straight Talk)

So a few months ago I bought my first Android phone in years, a ZTE Max Duo from Straight Talk. Unfortunately, since then I have found absolutely nothing about the phone on forums like this, let alone any way to root it. Has anyone managed to root this phone, and if so, how? I don't have regular access to a PC, but if the only way to root it is through a PC, I might ask for permission to use one.
I am looking for the same with this phone.. It seems like a great piece of hardware thus far bit could use some tweaks that a root could certainly take care of but no info whatsoever.. Any help with this would be great.
I figured out how to root the ZTE max duo (z963vl) via (iroot) I have the exact file and can tell u what to enable for root email me at [email protected] il send the file
Any Success?
It looks like there are a few variants of this device. I have the Imperial Max that is sold on US Cellular. Exact same phone and specs except for the radio.

I would like a copy of that file if you still have it and don't mind sharing it.
Man I've been trying to find any custom ROM or something that can get me to 6.0+ or 7.0+ because I can't deal with 5.1.1
But after searching relentlessly it seems that it doesn't exist.
I've been trying to find a ROM we could port over but that's looking grim too. I made a request over at CM so hopefully someone gracious enough will make one.

KingRoot now roots the phone but the bootloader is still locked!
The ZTE max duo LTE (z963vl) can now be rooted via KingRoot but only temporarily. When you reboot the phone you will lose root. You can not make any system changes either still because the bootloader is still locked after root. You can not update BusyBox either. Also when you root the phone with KingRoot it says "This model restricts root authorization". To fix that error just completely close KingRoot and re-open it and it will fix the root authorization error. Dev's or anyone for that matter please help unlock this phone's bootloader please I really want to start getting custom roms and recovery for this phone plus I want to be able to write to /system. I hope this helps as much as possible and I hope the bootloader will become unlocked with all the Devs help. Also I did this with the apk version of KingRoot only because I do not have a PC.
Great news...

Hmmmmm...
So I tried Mardeys method and it did root like he said... installed su superuser and root checker... they worked... busybox wouldn't install... restarted my phone and lost root... so I did it all again then just powered off my phone and started it with power button and volume up... took me to recovery screen with a few options... one being sideload with adb...
I am new at all this so don't know if that helps but would love to get this thing rooted...

Wall here's what my whole setup was... I ran King root... It said I was rooted but didn't restart my phone... I installed superuser and ran it... This is the one I used... Supersu by chainfire... I installed busy box also but had the same problem about need to update binary files blah blah blah... I then installed a root checker and said I was rooted... Super su was found and busy box... Still no reboot... So I tried installing a few root apps... I installed a app remover for bloat were and it worked... But... When I reboot my phone I lose it all... And can redo it all again but it won't stay on there... Not tech dumb but don't know enough to figure it out... Hopefully that helps you a little as far as what my experience was... Like I said before... If I boot into recovery there is an adb sideboard option so... Just hope it gets figured out soon... Would love to have this rooted with a good room on it.... Starting to think it's a hopeless cause... One more thing to add... While rooted I installed a boot manager to see if it would go into a deeper boot recovery mode at restart but it didn't...
I honestly wish I could swap out Kinguser for something else. SCR ScreenRecorder Pro doesn't seem to realize that there is root, even after granting it permission through Kinguser, which leads me to believe either I'm not actually rooted, or KingUser is garbage.
Does anyone have the firmware for this phone?
No answers? Nothing?
Did you guys try $su reboot disemmcwp in a terminal after rooting? That's always the next step on ZTE phones.
Going to try that now... Can't find a copy of the firmware anywhere however. Worries me in case I need to reflash
I'd like to get this phone rooted too I've only been only to temproot by kingroot

Just tried it myself, but after it's done rebooting, the root's still gone.
Edit: I've noticed that the XDA Labs app seems to think this is a ZTE Blade. Perhaps I might have some luck there?

I'm also currently trying to root this device. Like it's predacessor, the Alcatel Ideal (4060A), the IdealXCITE does not appear to have a locked bootloader. So, the best method for rooting this device will be to port/install custom recovery, and subsequently flash the SuperSU v2.82 systemless root script from custom recovery. I'll keep you posted on my progress. Please do the same. Thanks
if we could find a way to force it to enter in to the bootloader we could flash a custom recovery. edit: adb reboot bootloader does not work.
here is the buildprop: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=817550096634788588. if this phone is exploitable by dirtycow we can create a scrip to get to the bootloader or root it.
i found this line in the buildprop, #GTS force set flash lock to pass cts ro.boot.flash.locked=1. this could mean that the bootloader is locked.

Yes. You made a good find there. Systemless root is theoretically impossible with a locked bootloader, as I'm sure you already know. This device is looking more and more impenetrable every day.
are best bet to get root access is to call or email alcatel. plus that is what they sayed about the zte zinger but it got root access.

Hmmmm. I've had luck with Wondershare on devices that nothing else would root. Keep us posted. Thanks
I will
wondershare failed to root this phone, man is this phone hard to root.
Is anyone still working on this device, or has it been abandoned?
I was but I just gave up on getting root access. If you think you know of a way to get root access please let me know.
Has anyone tried KingRoot? I have had it root phones that other tools failed on completly
King root doesn't work. Any ideas???
try NUTSACKrootSystem it works for everything except getting you a life
Yet you're wasting your time posting non sense like that on some online forums. Apparently its you who needs to get a life buddy.
