Hello friends,
I have a box with android 5.1. An HDD with my movies is connected with USB in this box.
I wish I could connect the box to a PC (windows 7) with the OTG cable and share ONLY the hard drive with movies. And especially not the micro SD card connected to the box and the internal memory.
Any idea on how to do this?
Thank you very much friends.
pleaze nothing ?

An ext HDD has to have it's own power supply. The tab ain't powerful enough to run a simple plug and play ext HDD.

I frequently use without problem two different Western Digital My Passport Essential 500 GB USB-powered hard drives (p/n WDBACY5000ABK-00) with a Sony Tablet S. I use a Sony SGPUC1 USB cable to connect the hard drives to the tablet. The hard drives are formatted FAT32, which is required for the tablet to be able to access the hard drives; that is, without modifying its kernel.
I suspect your problem is your hard drive is not formatted as FAT32. If that is the case, you will need to format your hard drive as FAT32. Microsoft Windows (any version) cannot format large capacity hard drives as FAT32, so you will need to use a third-party formatting tool.
If your tablet has root access, another option is installing a NTFS kernel module. For information on downloading and installing the NTFS kernel module, read THIS thread. This supposedly will allow the tablet to access hard drives formatted as NTFS.
Hey guys,
i bought a Noosy Smartphone U-Disk and received it today. It's a 4gb USB pendrive with a usb and a micro-usb plug and MicroSD support (it has an adapter under the usb plug). The pendrive itself works fine but i can't enter the microsd i inserted... Has anyone got an idea what i could do to get access?
back it up and format it to fat32 system
I already did it... I even tried it as ext4 :/
Do you mean you can't browse to USB disk if yes than use a file explorer like solid explorer press back button one time and you will see USB

I can browse usbdisk but i can't access the micro sd i inserted into the stick's adapter... i don't know if sxu isn't supporting it... i even changed vold.fstab (the line for ext_card was missing)...
Any thoughts/ideas on the following would be welcome. I have got USB OTG working fine on my HTC flyer using an OTG cable and Y cable for external power with a USB pen drive.
However when I try to use the same set up with a USB SD Card reader, I get the message "USB device not supported - The USB device you have connected is not supported. Please unplug both the USB device and the dongle.
Any thoughts on why this is not supported or any fixes?
The card reader works fine with the same 4gb sd card (from camera) on windows PC.
Hey guys !
Whenever i plug in my 4GB usb stick into the phone (using usb otg cable) i get an error Usb storage damaged, please format. A month ago it worked perfectly now all of sudden i've got this error. It does work on the pc and i already formatted it countless times, even used different formats (ntsf, fat, fat 32, exfat ...).
Thanks for the help in advance.
Hi All,
Finally I have my Viper ROM installed and working, I just have a question:
When I connect my device to the laptop with USB cable SD card is not recognized.
It's possible to make it visible also when USB connected? I want to use LwW as car mp3 player and I need to have it connected with usb cable.
Regards
Luca
