S6 edge firmware problem - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi! My original firmware was a romanian version (ROM) but I wanted to try something different so I flashed the UK firmware (XEU). The differences between these 2 aren't noticeable so I tried to flash ROM firmware back but it doesn't seems to work since Samsung phone info shows me Portugal as CSC country and TPH CSC code. What is the problem in this case and how could I fix it? Thanks!

Hey!
Just install the CodeRom, like the TUTORIAL says(install first XXKPH) and so on. You can ALWAYS flash back to STOCK(xxkc1) firmware, with ODIN. Tutorials here to flash:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034145
Dont worry, if you FLASH stock like XXKC1, it revert back to ORIGINAL XXKC1

There is your ASIAN FIRMWARE to download(..DXKC1):http://hotfile.com/dl/115777717/fa0f409/S5830DXKC1_OLBKC1_DXKC1.rar.html.
If this not helping, you can try them ALL,to revert in to STOCK. Here is link(you must be registered to see download links):http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-s5830.htm
CHEERS!
You'll have to go for a multi-package from 2.3 to 2.2 or the phone won't start. Just sayin'
my phone shows pda: jpkc2 phone: jpkc1 csc:jpkc1 (pak)
does it mean for warranty claim i have to flash back s5830jpkc2 from samfirmware.com and what about country (pak) as it shows..... will it be corrected or it is sim network based???

yes, you have to show that you have stock firmware, and unrooted. and don't tell em you did all those flashing and rooting in your SGA. It is region based, so no problem there. and remember your apn settings.

Look on www.sammobile.com/firmware for samsung firmware.Telia is not listed, also not on check fus. So i think you need this rom http://www.hotfile.com/dl/163050326/a3cfdf1/I9300XXBLFB_I9300NEEBLF1_NEE.zip.html for the Nordic countries. Install Triangle Away (here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494114) first before flashing the rom with Odin to reset the flash counter. After you flashed the rom do a data/factory reset. Check first if the above rom i mentionedis the right one.
Was reading abit more (do not want to be stucked with a broken phone doing my vacation), found this is the I9300XXBLG6 the newest firmware and does it work for us on Telia in Denmark?

Better check on Telia`s website for the latest firmware. You might flash the rom in your post, however you may have to change the modem for better reception.

If i flash the new firmware again, do i need to root the phone again or does it "keep" the root i made earlier... Sorry for all the stupid questions i'm an old iphone fart. :silly:
I tried to search for a sammy wiki or something to become a little more clever about rooting, rom and firmware.
As i see it:
The firmware is kinda the phone bios, doesnt matter if you running a hacked version of the system or not.
The ROM is the "system" it might be stock or cyanogen etc.
You have to have a hacked firmware to be able root your phone.... Or am i totally wrong here?

If you buy Mobile Odin Pro and flash the firmware with that app you will keep root and you don`t loose no data. If you flash with Odin on your pc you will loose root and your user data will probably be deleted.
The firmware i just linked is it not possible to root using that and odin nonpro? Do i have to use an older firmware then?

Flash it with Odin and root with CF Root 6.4. You can flash that firmware although i wouldn`t do it, it is a British Telecom provider rom. I would flash the rom in the 2nd post (nordic countries) wich i recommended. For instructions see m signature.
what rom to use for telia denmark unrooting?

Mine also says unknown after flashing the UK firmware. I've tried flashing the CSC file, but it still shows as being unknown.
I'm also unable to access the CSC selector, after entering *#272*IMEI# I get a message -
"Connection problem or invalid MMI code"
Try sgs1/2 csc changer from play store

Hello,
I'm asking this here because it looks like you guys might be able to help me understand how CSC work.
I'm trying to understand why I'm not getting the UK Jellybean update, bought my Galaxy s3 phone from Amazon it said UK unlocked.
Here's what my phone "About device" says
Model: GT-9300
Version:4.0.4
Baseband version:i9300XXLF2
Build number:IMM76D.I9300XXALF2
When I run *#1234#
it gives
AP: I9300XXALF2
CP:I9300XXLF2
CSC:I9300OJVALF2
Now from what I've read and looking here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610
this would indicate a stock official firmware apart from the CSC
As I understand it the above CSC mean my phone is OJV, while to get the UK update I have to have CSC BTU.
I've tried the CSC selector software but BTU doesn't appear and the phone appears to be set on MWD (this is also what KIES shows)
Can anyone help me untangle and understand this.
Thanks.

Hi. Your phone has African firmware with a multi CSC. There is no Official release yet for Africa. Thats why you are not getting updates. You have 2 options.......1: To wait for the official update for your firmware 2: to download XXDLJ4 and flash it with odin. You will have exactly same result whichever option you choose.
Cheers
CSC problem
Hello.
I have a problem with changing the CSC of my phone. My phone is a branded i9300 with the stock CSC: ORO. I've flashed I9300XXDLJ4 and my CSC became unknown. Then i tried to flash only the BTU CSC but with the same result: CSC unknown. Also i downloaded the CSC select app but it gives me this error : "process com.android.phone has stopped". also i've wiped data and cache before and after flashing the rom. Do you guys have a solution for my problem or if a have a branded phone i cannot change my CSC?
When I enter in recovery mode it always says something like "Manual MODE. Applied Multi CSC. Applied CSC ORO".
Thanks

It happens when the cache.img (it has the CSC files) is not flashed properly when you are using Odin.... if the flashing process gets interrupted due to a reboot ..you will have to flash the firmware again after a full wipe..

Yes, thank you, I've now realised this. I bought the phone on Amazon where it was described as UK unlocked. Obviously this wasn't entirely accurate..
I'm new to this so I'm going to wait a little longer in case the official update is released shortly while I do some more reading.
If I wanted to go the second root, just out of interest, how did you know to suggest XXDLJ4 as the ROM I need to flash, there seem to be so many out there. Sorry if this is a total noob question.
Thanks.
Simple method is to use CHECKFUS to download any current firmware and flash via ODIN .

Flashing a stock rom to an unbranded phone - OTA

EDIT: The headline is supposed to say - 'Flashing a stock rom to a BRANDED phone'
Hey guys!
I've recently acquired a Galaxy S3 yet my carrier has decided to brand the phone (Three). I've been talking to them about getting them to debrand it but they will not do it for free, and they say that once debranded I won't be able to receive OTA.
My question now is: Will I, if I do it myself, be able to flash an unbranded stock rom located on the internet using ODIN and still receive OTA updates, or is there something preventing me from doing this?
Cheers
Mikkel
I had the same issue (orange),
Go to SamMobile download the latest unbranded btu (uk) version 4.1.1 and flash with odin.
As you flashing the official stock firmware you don't need to be rooted and your counter won't change.
You will then get the ota updates from Samsung and not your carrier or you can just keep flashing the latest versions as above.

Go to the Sammobile.com site then the firmwares link and select
Type - Smartphone
OS - Android
Model - this will be your phone for example GT i9300 - Galaxy S 3
Country - and from the drop down lost select Open Europe OXA
That is non branded European version 4.1.1, it should work fine for you.
Totally up to you this is just a suggestion to get rid of the branding from 3 which is the only version listed under Denmak itself in the country list
Use CHECKFUS to download any current firmware from Samsung and flash via Odin .

Thanks a bunch guys. This is great help!
Before I start flashing the rom is there anything I have to do? Do I have to backup/wipe/reset the phone or do I simply start download mode, connect it to my PC and flash the new rom using Odin?

Hello from me! My first post!!!
Well I was wandering how can I flash the sammobile dowloaded firmware with Odin3. I mean full flash so I can change the phone and CSC not only the pda. Because what I get from sammoblie is a one file bundle *.tar.md5 .
- Just in case, I recently bought from ebay a GT-9100 locked with T-Mobile and stocked with Gingerbread. I am not a customer of T-Mobile so I unlocked it and upgraded it to latest firmware 4.0.4
- The problem is the signal strength is very poor (but not always - sometimes, for about 10 minutes I might get full H+ and after that no signal (wtf)).
I am not sure whether it is a software or hardware fault and wanted to downgrade back to Gingerbread.
Any help is apreciated.

Plus, when I flashed Gingerbread I got stuck in set up wizard due to errors. And I was not able to factory reset the phone.
