My Girlfriend has the OPX and cannot play Pokémon Go cause the GPS simply doesn't want to work. It works with Google Maps no problem but in PG it says "Failed to detect location" or "GPS signal not found". Even with High Accuracy enabled it has this problem.
Is anyone else having this problem or knows a solution?
Thanks!

Do you have mock locations enabled in developer options?
Try to disable it.
not me. i can play without issue.
I had to go back to stock because of that very same issue. On the custom Rom my character would hardly move.
Playing it on Sultans CM without any Issue
On xOS (cm13 based) no issues, sometimes I havent so good GPS signal, but It's good enough

Someone in the CM9 thread referrenced unchecking the "use wireless networks" as a means of helping keep battery life up. This isn't to discuss that as much as it is to find out if my GPS is broke.
When I have that little check box unchecked, I can't get any GPS locks. (if someone can tell me an app to download to confirm this, I'd appreciate it). For instance, if I go to Maps and press the locate me button, it sits for a minute then pops up an error saying that my location cannot be found. this happens inside and outside. If I check that little box, it almost instantly finds me.
is this how it should be? Shouldn't it be able to find me using JUST GPS?
I flashed my phone back to stock to confirm that this wasn't just a CM9 problem and it appears it isn't. Even on stock I have this problem. Anyone know?

I read about this once a while back (in my Captivate days). I think it has something to do with the phones not being able to use the GPS without a data connection, unless you have and ext sd card with preloaded maps for routing. I will see if I can find the page where I read it.
edit:
Seems like I remember typing in a dialer code (on the captivate) to get to the gps settings and being able to change it from Assisted GPS to standalone. But I havent heard of this for our phones. May be something to look into.
I also cannot get GPS lock unless that option is enabled. I do not notice any battery drain while that is enabled, though.
hi all.
at first i wanna apologize for my english, i am not native. i am also not good at phones, just normal user.
i bought samsung galaxy s2 i9100 from cellsnmore through ebay. i had to upgrade firmware from gingerbread to 4.1.2, i did it with odin because it could not been done by kies.

Is GPS taking a long time to locate with AccuWeather only or in other apps as well. For example, is it working well in Google Maps?
You could also try to use a GPS Test app (AndroiTS GPS Test Free from Play Store) to check if your phone is "seeing" any satellites or not.

it does also in google maps and the others. i tried that app and it is seeing satellites. where could be the problem, do you have idea?
and does anybody know anything how to fix the radio, please?
thank you
How many sattelites are visible as per the GPS test app?
Could you please try the following:
1. In Settings > Location Access, disable and re-enable "Wi-Fi & mobile network location"
And check if GPS works (ideally using the GPS test tools).
2. If the previous solution didn't work, then
In Settings > Location Access, disable "Wi-Fi & mobile network location"
And check if GPS works (ideally using the GPS test tools). (The second problem I had faced with CyanogenMod based custom ROMs in 4.2.2)
Note: The first time you connect to GPS it could take a long time (long as in 20 seconds to a couple of minutes). And if possible, try to test it from a place with clear visibility of the sky (at least the first time).
Hello guys, my gps isnt working on AOSIP 5.9. What should I do?
I think I solved it. I disabled the google play services from acquiring location info, after I enabled it, it works, I can find my device with android device manager and cerberus and waze, but I get no fix in gps test. Strange behaviour
Is anyone else experiencing issues with the GPS not working? The phone is able to determine my current location but is unable to actually navigate anywhere. Google maps never shows an arrow to indicate the GPS is locked. I've also used several Gps app to help correct it. I've done multiple resets and app updates I've even sent the phone back to Nokia twice just for them to tell me nothing is wrong. My phone is running the latest update as of March 11. Please help!

Review your 'Location' settings.
Go to Settings - - > Security & Location
Look for Location (it should say On) press to open Location menu screen, review all options shown.
Near bottom of list look for Scanning and select. This will bring up options to use wifi and Bluetooth to scan for positioning. Turn them both on.
They help even when not using. System uses to triangulate (better identify location).
Also check 'Google Location Accuracy'. I know from experience if that selection is off GPS will work, but navigation Apps are fairly useless.
Some suggestions. Hope it helps.

Tried all of that to no avail. They were already on so switched them off then on, checked maps, restarted phone and checked again.

Hello, I have this problem too, there is no solution

你好,我也遇到同样的问题,没办法解决。
turn off: Google Location Accuracy, GPS will working.
when open google maps, it will ask to turn on Google Location Accuracy .... select NO!!!
On my device, this worked. Download the app "GPS Test" from F-Driod (might be in Play Store? I never looked...) https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.android.gpstest.osmdroid/
In the app, click the "Clear assist data" wait a few minutes. I've waited between 1 - 20 minutes in the past. The GPS redoes all it's data and starts working again for me.
I had the same problem. Contacted Nokia, it's a known problem caused by an update.
About a month ago I received a new update and since then everything GPS related is working fine again.
I had the same problem and sent my phone to repair. They confirmed the issue and corrected it. Since then the GPS works well.

Hello Mi Fans, I got my Xiaomi Mi10 3 weeks ago everything working very good I use gps a lot and never had any problem with my previous Mi Mix3 , with the mi 10 am getting my location but it doesn’t move when I go somewhere or use direction by google maps or use waze , it doesn’t show speed it’s just stock there , I unlocked the phone and flashed miui eu stable rom, still the same problem even though I wiped the data , anyone has the same problem please or is it an hardware issue.
I was experiencing the same problem, I use waze a lot. I happened to go into Apps. Located the GPS you use and set it to Always. For some reason mine was set to only when app is being used. Changed that and it's working fine. Let me know if that works for you.
You are right just changed it thanks a lot

I had the same issue, power settings didn't fix it for me but what did was changing some settings using QuickShortcutMaker from the play store.
Pretty sure I just changed the A-GPS server to Google. It was using a xiaomi one by default.
How did you do that? I tried to use that app, but couldnt change anything.
