My GPS doesnt work on AOSIP 5.9 - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Hello guys, my gps isnt working on AOSIP 5.9. What should I do?

I think I solved it. I disabled the google play services from acquiring location info, after I enabled it, it works, I can find my device with android device manager and cerberus and waze, but I get no fix in gps test. Strange behaviour

GPS not working properly

Hey guys,
Im running stock ROM: 2.73.405.5
Radio : 63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18
My device has recovery and root.
And GPS does not seem to work, I have tried with Google maps and Waze.
Waze gets my location for a sec (as it resets the map to my real location), I have disabled the use of wireless networks to find out the location so I guess GPS must be working if it can see where I am for a second but after that it says it's looking for GPS satellites and it never finds any no matter where I am.
As far as I recall I have never been able to get a satellite.
Will a radio upgrade help me?
Has anyone ever experience such problems and found a solution?
Are there any changes to settings I need to apply except enabling location services ?

have you sat still for a good 5-10 mins with a clear view of the sky?> and does ur internet work fine on the phone?
hero can locate you either with the phone's network service or GPS, the first one locate you in no time but can't get an acurate coordinate. On the contary, GPS takes longer time but get a better fix (Take a few minutes).
Go to "setting" - "position"(not sure for my not using english as my default language) check both box to active GPS and network locating function.

Is GPS taking a long time to locate with AccuWeather only or in other apps as well. For example, is it working well in Google Maps?
You could also try to use a GPS Test app (AndroiTS GPS Test Free from Play Store) to check if your phone is "seeing" any satellites or not.

How many sattelites are visible as per the GPS test app?
Could you please try the following:
1. In Settings > Location Access, disable and re-enable "Wi-Fi & mobile network location"
And check if GPS works (ideally using the GPS test tools).
2. If the previous solution didn't work, then
In Settings > Location Access, disable "Wi-Fi & mobile network location"
And check if GPS works (ideally using the GPS test tools). (The second problem I had faced with CyanogenMod based custom ROMs in 4.2.2)
Note: The first time you connect to GPS it could take a long time (long as in 20 seconds to a couple of minutes). And if possible, try to test it from a place with clear visibility of the sky (at least the first time).

Smart Lock trusted locations issue

Has anyone had issues with Smart Lock on CM12 (or any other AOSP rom), specifically with the trusted locations? It worked fine on Illusion 6.5. WiFi location is on, all location services is on, but location unlock has not worked for me on CM12.
I thought it was maybe a gapps issue, but I've tried the pa gapps and the slim gapps and location unlock still doesn't work. Also tried updating to the latest Google play services apk and still no go.

GPS failing with Pokémon Go.

My Girlfriend has the OPX and cannot play Pokémon Go cause the GPS simply doesn't want to work. It works with Google Maps no problem but in PG it says "Failed to detect location" or "GPS signal not found". Even with High Accuracy enabled it has this problem.
Is anyone else having this problem or knows a solution?
Thanks!

Do you have mock locations enabled in developer options?
Try to disable it.
not me. i can play without issue.
I had to go back to stock because of that very same issue. On the custom Rom my character would hardly move.
Playing it on Sultans CM without any Issue
On xOS (cm13 based) no issues, sometimes I havent so good GPS signal, but It's good enough

GPS and AR bugs with Stock Pie ROM

Hey guys,
after flashing the LG V30 Stock Pie ROM that some Apps or features aren't correctly working: I've noticed that the GPS is inaccurate while running Pokemon Go and all AR-Apps (like Google Measure) doesn't really work. I can try to scan the area, but nothing will happen.
Anyone else with these kind of bugs and know a solution?
Try restarting it.

When I updated the phone to US99830b (Pie), after the initial set up, apps cannot lock my location with gps turned on. After the first reboot, everything works fine.
Restart doesn't fix the problem
Restarting the device doesn't fix the problem. Any other suggestions?
