Power button not working, how can i power on my phone? - HTC Droid DNA

When plugged in it shows the battery percentage at 99% but I can't seem to get it to power on via the power button.

If you can't find a button remapping app that will allow you to use a volume button to turn it on, plugging it into a pc usb port turns it on. The power button ribbon might not actually be damaged. It could have either slid out of position, or that area could just need cleaned. Its not overly complicated to open it up

Moisture damage and button remapping help needed

because of the Zagg invisble shield moisture my power button has been destroyed.
Samsung won't replace my broken galaxy tab so I've though up this idea but need some help with it.
I am wondering if I can remap the power command to a volume rocker button (long press or something?).
So I can at least wake the device up out of standby.
If it's possible I'd like the device to also boot using the long pressed volume rockers or something. I am now booting it by repetedly pushing and pulling the power cord in it so itll get short pulses which seems to get it booting.
Many thanks!

Phone bricked without ROOT

Hey guys wondering if anyone experienced the phone being basically bricked without actually unlocking, rooting or anything.
It has happened before one, just laying on the table and the phone turning off but it came back on after a while.
Today it occurred again but has not turned back on for two days. When charging the only light is the LED flashing constantly every second. If I hold the power button and volume up then the flashing of the LED changes pace to One long flash (1 sec) to two quicker flashing ones (.5 seconds). If I unplug it and plug the phone back, The LED flashing is back to the original constant pace.
When unplugged sometimes holding the power and volume up button initiates the LG logo and then turns off and then shows the logo once more and then turns off for good.
If I plug this into the computer, its like someone ejecting a usb and plugging it in like a maniac. I heard the connecting and disconnecting sounds from windows nonstop like as if its about to blow up.
I've tried holding the power button for a minute the same goes with different combinations with the volume buttons.
The only thing I haven't tried is opening the phone, kind of afraid I will mess it up. Any solutions?

Never heard of this but I can throw a few suggestions out. Try unplugging, then holding both Volume buttons and the power button (All three) for about 10 seconds. Try different USB ports.
Try this if all else fails: Source: http://cellphoneforums.net/lg/t348484-perform-master-hard-reset-lg-optimus-g.html#axzz2YPtvkfDk
To Perform a Master Reset via Hardware
1. Turn off your device.
2. With the device turned off, press and hold the Volume Down key as well as the Home key at the same time.
3. While both the Volume Down key and the Home key are held down, press the Power button.
4. When the LG logo appears, release all the keys.
5. Scroll to and highlight wipe data/factory reset by pressing the Volume Down key. Then press the Power button.
6. Scroll to and highlight Yes – delete all user data by pressing the Volume Down key. Then press the Power button.
7. As soon as the wipe has been completed, press the Volume Down key to scroll to and select wipe cache partition. Press the Power button when ready.
8. As soon as the wipe has been completed, press the Power button to select reboot system now.
9. The master reset should now be successfully completed and your LG Optimus G should restart.

Try this:
1) remove the battery
2) attach the usb cable to the phone either in the wall outlet or hooked to your computer
3) while plugged in, insert the battery
4) battery charging icon should come up on the screen
5) press power button and it might come on
sounds weird but is works sometimes, try it

Install a widget to power off, and/or remap the home button as power while you can. just to save use of your power button.

Is your power button physically broken, or does it just not turn on the phone? If you pull the battery and put it back in, are you able to turn it on with the power button? If not try just plugging it into the charger and wait for the green battery picture. If you get that try the power button again. This is what my phone was doing. Had to have my phone replaced.
Just curious
Thanks

Recalcitrant power button

To use the power button I have to press it firmly and hold for a few seconds, which works tho sometimes causes phone to skip right thru power on to screen off, or the like. Can I fix this with a new power flex cable and/or power button assembly? Or is it just life and I should go on this way - it is not life threatening.

Turning on Samsung Phone without Power Button

I tried turning on my phone (Galaxy S20FE) by plugging it into my PC with a USB cable & holding down volume up & down buttons. The phone only had volume buttons & a power button, so now that the power button has fallen out, I only have the volume buttons https://19216811.cam/ https://1921681001.id/ .
Anyways, after I tried this, I get a warning, "A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications. If you want to download a custom OS, press the volume up key. Otherwise, press the volume down key to cancel. Volume up: Continue ; Volume down: Cancel (reset phone) ; Side key: Show barcode."
If there's an option to reset phone, why isn't there an option just to restart? When I click volume up, it gets stuck on a downloading screen. It says I can cancel & restart the phone by holding down the power button & volume down, which obviously isn't something I can do. I got out of the downloading screen by unplugging from PC & waiting a while.
What are my options?
Welcome to XDA.
Repair or replace the assembly. Part of the core functionality of the phone... you need it.
If the battery is older then 1 or 2 years replace as well. Make sure to replace the back cover seal to preserve waterproofing.
Have a good repair shop do this if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.

1. Use a blunt pin or something like that to press the power button area.
2. The options you see by holding down the volume buttons whilst connected to the PC is expected behaviour. You can press Volume Down button on that screen to cancel the warning and restart the phone.
'Reset' here means restart. It really is a wrong term to use and is confusing. Reset means to undo user changes and restore something to default state.
XDA should issue a clarification on this term instead of 'brick', whose usage has been far less confusing and fairly clear.
