I'm using the same ROM you are. Was wondering how the change in kernel to Abricot was working for you? Has it made a big difference in battery and performance? Cheers!

well i used the kernel before the custom rom...
i personally love the "brething effect" of the notification LED. of course batter life increases if you use the undervolting feature (i have -40mv offset) and I also enabled fast charge for faster charging. i only use it for saving battery so i always use conservative or interactive... min. 300MHz max. 1267MHz work quite well for me. i still can play pokemon go and use all the apps like whatsapp, facebook, snapchat etc
i use Kenel Tuner, the Kernel Audiutor was buggy for me....
my settings:
min frequ 300
max freq 1267
scaling governor: conservative
cpu governor parameters: maximum battery profile
usb fast charge on
multi core power savings: aggressive
global voltage offset: -40
300MHz: 710mv
gpu governor: powersafe wich is 27MHz
the kernel itself is great. it allows overclocking up to 2800MHz (stock is 2,5GHz) but dont set more than 2700 because voltage gets tooo high on some devices and android crashes
the gpu overclocking is stable and some other MHz are added like 27MHz 100MHz and 657MHz
the developer added some extra governors wich are for better performance like Lionheart or smartass v2...
there is a feature called fast_hotplug and can be used instead mpdecision...

Rc4 released!(19/11)(screenshots)blackbird firestorm rc2

hello guys,
its my 2nd day with blackbird(optimus net rom ported by mattof93) now and it seems really promising!
quite impressed with its performace,responsiveness..
initally it was slow, but after flashing paulo v6 touchfix kernel it became really good!
only big bug im suffering from is that usb mass storage doesnt work
however we can go to recovery and toggle usb there and use it!
other than that really small bugs expected to be fixed like autofocus, not switching on nce battery drains to 0%(remove battery and replace) !
so here im sharing a few screenshots of the rom!
i tested neocore yesterday and score was somehwere around 60-64fps (without sound) !mind its a stock modified rom..
games like asphalt 5,dungeon hunter, nfs shift, hero of sparta etc work flawlessly and quite smoothly!
most imprtant it has darktremors a2sd working really well!
have a look at it and if u like just grab it from dev thread ..
guys please vote !!poll on top of the page
some info as provided by matt on performace by kernel :

i have used almost all the available roms!!
cm7 is cm7!!thats something different cos the entire framework and sources are different!!
however with rc2 and paulo touchfix and a few app management in hand ,i feel this rom attracts me a lot!!!
however this is just rc2!!the stable release will definitely more rocking!hope sodunno when matt is goin to release but hez working on it and has promised to never stop developing on this rom!

Sorry for being this irritating 'questionare' but could you test asphalt 5 for me?
what's next (RC3):
rom partially deodexed
custom framework
some changes to scripts in init.d and build.prop
new kernel
androidusero1p500 could you add a survey to decide which kernel will be used by default in the RC3?
these are the options:
rome kernel by zacks (better performance)
franco kernel (best compromise between performance and stability)
paolo's kernel (the only kernel which solve the scrolling "bug")

I'm using firestorm n was clocked @122-787 interactive /smartass(dun remmber xactly wich one i was usin).. paulo v6 touch kernel!with darktremor a2sd..
I get minimum 60-62fps ..with ram running at 200mb ..(don't prefer killing em)..
Also I'm using autokiller memory manager pro(plays with minfree also)from market ,it has an option called adanced tweaks too..could that be the reason?
Editrutuj the values i mentioned was without sound !also could you give feedback on your experience with the rom?

Ok.
Im running firestorm using paulos v6touch kernel at 480/729 smartass, OC using setcpu.
Im also using zepellinrox's v6supercharger, aggressive settings.
The neocore came upto 56~55..The gaming is superb especially HD games.
So, will autokiller memory manager mess up with v6 supercharger settings?
p.s. - Whats the ETA for rc3 ?

yeah auotkiller mm is simialr to v6 supercharger!
but i heard supercharger is something more than amm!
however you get 55-56 without sounD?
im getting constand scores above 61fps!with 122-787mhz,around 40-60 apps installed a lot of em in there and a lot of ram constanly being used!!
like when i ran neocore i had about 180-200mb free!

What app is best for underclocking stock kernel?

Hello, I'm on 5.1.1 Rooted. May I know which app is most used here in Z2 for underclocking. I'd like to underclock my stock kernel to lessen battery usage.

instead of to underclock, try to use stamina mode. It works fine and reduce the performance of prOcessor for recovery energy on battery.
If you want underclock you can use the No-frills CPU control (I remember like a good app)

I recommend you to use Kernel Adiutor or 3C Toolbox Pro. They're both good apps, especially 3C is a crazy app with tons of features.
But, underclocking doesn't really make a difference with the battery life, fyi. It's a placebo.
Thanks so much, you guys. These are a lot of apps I'll try each of them

Yes, you can flash a custom recovery (this one or this one for example), and then with the Boeffla App for the first one or with Synapse for the second one you can underclock the CPU.

only benschholds kernel has the feature to underclock the CPU (via Kernel Adiutor or Synapse). Boefflas kernel can only underclock the GPU(via Borffla Config App).
(I don't think that underclocking has benefits regarding battery life on the OP2.)

It all depends on how you load the big-little cores I guess, and of course also the climate you live in. It's 3-5 degrees Celsius here in Sweden in the mornings so when I'm walking to work I try to work up some heat in phone to heat up my frozen fingers ?

The stability of these builds is a bit shaky, but if you read on the official ROM thread you can se which builds they are having problems using and which combinations of Gapps with them. To be on the safe side, you should do a factory restore/clean flash to avoid configuration incompatibilities between current installed nightly and the one you're flashing.

Is underclocking the Honor 7 possible ?

Hi !
I'm always searching a way to get the perfect balance between performance and battery.
CPU clock speed being a huge deal in the better battery mission, I would like to know if it is "underclokingable" because I didn't found a way to do it.
Thanks for the answers

I tried using kernel audiutor but it did not work. Read that there are many more files (etc) which change the clock speed back to original.
Only with the appropriate kernel. So far there is none to my knowledge. Kernel auditor is just a frontend for the kernels capabilities.

Try trickster. It's much better for your situation
I have kernel auditor on mm+ kang and it's working fine with changing governer or underclocking.
You have to add kernel auditor to protected apps from battery optimization.
Edit: the underclocking doesn't stick but the governer does.

Oreo ROM for mido without Performance Profile.

Currently, I'm on RR O Official. I can't change the minimum CPU frequency.
Balanced always 1.6GHz
Efficency always 1GHz
Quick? Performance? I don't know what to say
There's no way to set min 652MHz and max 2GHz? Or disable that performance profile?
Never go down to 652MHz is battery killer!
