Greeting everyone.
Recently, I got new internet / modem and now I can't connect my LG-G5 to WiFi.
Here's what happens.
No matter what WiFi I chose from my modem (had two versions 2.4g and 5g) and when i connect to one or the other, the lg-g5 is stuck in a continuous loop of connection, disconnection, connection, disconnection. It disconnects 1 second after it connects. Sometimes it even provides this message "Internet unavailable with 0x" or something along those lines. Any help??? I've wasted all my data because of this.
Thank you
EDIT: Also shows message "unknown <ssid>" or something like that at times

Hi all.
A per my post in this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117077
Code:
Hi all. I also have weak signal problem as well as fon router issue. The signal strength isn't as bad as being mentioned above, but still could be better.
But with my fon I can connect and connection is as showing connected, but I can't browse or have any connection to Internet whatsoever. When connecting to fon both lights on the router start flickering like normal and once connected when browsing or going to market for apps just one light blinks, when both should under normal activity.
Also I get this error message " a network error has occurred. retry or cancel and return to previous screen." when I try going to market.
I've tried setting security to none and wpa and still same no net.
Now some personal thoughts with experience with Linux and wifi. I think the problem is with driver or the firmware of wifi card on GS2. I had netgear card even thought it was claimed to work with Linux it kept on overheating and dropping connections with weak signal and every time I had to patch it to make it work properly, Many have reported same issues with other devices with Linux when it was claimed that devices should be working but were not.
My question is there anything I can do other than I haven't so far to check the problem why am not getting Internet through my fon router? Or any other checks I can do other than wifi tools I downloaded?
Thanks

Thats the router not the phone .
Set router to no security or passwords .
DELETE ROUTER WIFI FROM PHONE REBOOT AND RESET UP WIFI .

Hi, I've tried that still the same problem.
And it's not the router since every other device connects to it and many laptops and computers, without any problem.
Like I said I've tried it with wpa wep and no security just open, and still no Internet, even though it's showing as connected with signal bars at the top of the phone.
I've tried the phone with friends routers and it works on those. But not with mine which is Fonera.
Does anyone know what chip is used for wifi in these phones?
In case anyone else is wondering it's Samsung's own brand.
manufacturer=Samsung Electronics

Hey all,
I've had my Galaxy S II GT-i9100M for a bit more than two months now. It's been on ICS 4.0.3 since the first day I got it, and is unrooted.
Wifi was working fine the first month or so that I've had it. However, in the last month, while trying to connect to my university's networks from the wifi settings screen, it will display "connecting" for a long time, then change to "saved", without successfully connecting to the network. Odd thing is, if I turn the wifi on and off repeatedly, it may connect eventually, with around a 5-15% success rate each try. However, there's also a relatively high chance it will automatically disconnect itself within a few minutes.
The school has three main wifi networks: one is unsecured, while two are secured with exactly the same authentication methods (PEAP + MSCHAPv2) and takes the same login credentials. All three have the same problem when I try connecting. It's not a problem with signal strength, either, since my friends nearby can connect using their phone or laptop without any problems.
Here's what I've already tried to do to fix this:
Asked the school's IT helpdesk
Forget both secured networks so the phone can autoconnect to the unsecured one
Tried wifi diagnostic tools, such as Wifi Analyzer and Wifi Fixer, and tried changing to a better channel
Deselected "back up my data" in the Back Up and Reset settings screen, deleting existing wifi settings from Google's servers
Connect using a static IP address rather than DHCP. Either it has the same Connecting->Saved issue, or says something about "avoided a poor connection"
Did a factory reset, including wiping all user data
The wifi has no problems connecting to my home wireless network, and to most, though not all, other public networks I've tried (same problem as above if it doesn't work).
On a somewhat different note: there are two networks (each of which I've only connected to once at most) that are permanently saved on the list of access points; there's actually no way to forget/delete the network. They even survived the hard resets, and are listed before I link the phone to my Google account. Could this be related to the main issue above?
Is there a fix for this issue? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
The wifi randomly disconnects and with the error: Authentication Problem. The phone wont reconnect to another wifi hotspot until I manually make it do it. This happenns on the 5GHz band (I haven't tested it on 2.4). This problem doesn't happen with any other device connected to the same wifi router. Does anyone know what could cause this problem?
I had a similar problem where my G5 took ages to connect to WiFi and then it would randomly disconnect.
Try deleting every saved WiFi network you have, except for the ones you use. Just long press each one and hit "forget".
See if that fixes your problem.
I have only 2 saved networks (the 2 bands: 2.4 and 5). The wifi worked without any issue for the last two weeks until yesterday when the phone disconnected with the Authentication Problem error. I have to mention that the phone connects immediately to the wifi if I manually select the network and when I turn on the wifi.
I would then suggest the problem is with the network.
Either reset your network (unplug router, wait, replug) or try with a different WiFi.
I had an outage a week ago and that problem persisted until my provider fixed their problem. These "authentication" issues can be from anything network related.
I will try with another router. The annoying part is that I cannot reproduce the error manually, it's way too random.
Hello. I've always had worse WiFi on my Lenovo A7000 but recently it started to be just terrible. I have specifically theese problems: The phone sometimes doesn't notice nearby networks while every other device with WiFi does (ussualy on weaker WiFis), When I try to connect to the WiFi it just doesn't do anything and ussualy the network disappears from WiFis list (I noticed that when my phone is locked it connects but right after I unlock it it disconnects), Sometimes when i try to load some webpage or video the phone disconnects from the network and sometimes the network disappears from Wifis list, When I'm connected to strong WiFi it works but it's very slow (it can't even load a webpage). Theese problems apply for every WiFi I have access to so the problem isn't in my wireless router or the other routers because other devices work fine. Does anyone know what can I do ?
Hey, so recently I was having WiFi connectivity issues at my university; I would be able to connect to WiFi on my phone but would have no internet connection. After a variety of attempted fixes I decided the only way I could fix anything (since I can't directly fiddle with the router here) would be a factory reset of the phone. I'm able to do that without any problems up to the point where I'm asked to "Set Internet connection" where I'm presented with a number of WiFis to connect to. I tried to connect to the university WiFi but it's having the same problem as before: it connects but no internet. Okay, at this point I just hit "Next" to get to the next screen just so I can finish setting up the phone, and I'm given a dialog box which reads:
"No Internet
Your phone is not connected to the Internet. Software updates and device protection features will be unavailable until you connect to the Internet.
(Don't Skip) (Skip Anyway)"
No big deal, I just hit Skip Anyway.... the problem is, it doesn't "Skip" anything... it just takes me back to the "Set Internet connection" screen and I can't progress any further, so basically my phone is stuck in limbo, not able to finish setting up for some reason. I've also gone elsewhere and tried connecting to other WiFis that work, as well as trying to hotspot from my PC, and the phone gets hung up on "Obtaining IP address....", thus leading to the same Skip Anyway issue as before.
REALLY need some help as soon as possible, thanks in advance.
What model of v30 do you possess?
Are you rooted? Do you ha e TWRP?
