Post what you have bought for your R1 (cases, screen protectors, skins, etc.) and where you bought them, so others can look here and maybe get some ideas as to what to buy. I'd be one of them, honestly.
I have no case or screen protector as of now, just a standard SanDisk 16gb MicroSD, class 4. Can be had on Amazon for under $7 if you're Prime: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004...-2&pi=SL75_QL70&keywords=SanDisk+16gb+microsd
Has anyone gotten a bumper or protective case for theirs yet? If so, pictures would be nice.
I'd like to see if they're as unobtrusive and if the fit is as good as Blu's other cases. (not great, but good enough.)
I'm looking at getting this one specifically: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GIRTGKI/ref=twister_B01I0ZP29U?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have the BLU R1 HD ArmorFlex Case+Screen Protector. OEM micro USB fits without issues, buttons depress easily. It's bit on the slick side. Doesn't make the phone overly bulky. Feels nice in the hand. Purchased from Amazon for $6.99, same link that xeper provided.

I bought this same case and am very happy with it. I've even kept the included screen protector on my phone for 3 days now. I don't think one of those has lasted more than about 30 minutes with me, because I typically hate them.

My screen protector is in the garbage, got some particles under it and can't stand it not being flush
I'll probably wait until an OtterBox or similar case comes out. I don't really care about thickness as long as it can survive thermonuclear war (after all, that can happen if you flash a ROM so flash at your own risk).
Side note, anyone have tips for putting on screen protectors without getting stuff under it? I've tried cleaning the screen, I've tried only peeling off the dust guard little by little as I go on. Heck, I've even tried holding a vacuum tube by me while I put it on. No matter what I do, a speck always finds its way underneath.

I'll be using my phone naked (so to speak) so I was looking for a pouch/sleeve to protect it in my pocket.
The dimensions are almost the same as the HTC-10 and HTC M8, so I got one of these:
Sleeve Case for HTC-10 and HTC One M8; Synthetic Leather Sleeve by Dockem
- Ultra thin Microfiber Lined Pouch Style Cover (HTC-10, HTC One M8, Dark Brown)
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K6PQZR6/
Fits pretty well, very thin, nice lining. Not much protection, but should avoid scratches.
AcDisplay lockscreen in active mode turns on reliably when I slide it out of this case.

If you do get stuff under it you can take a piece of tape and try not to get your fingerprints on that and then stick the dust/particles from the screen protector.
Picked up a nice little folio case with credit card slots to avoid carrying a wallet. $9.90 Prime shipping on Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01HRLV0U8/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
i got the bumper and screen protector, made by blu i guess, that was "recommended" with the phone, but the screen protector is a few mm too small.

Ah, yes, they do have it for $2 :good:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-..._2&btsid=ed4eb9d4-5b1e-4e22-83ec-af89aee70df4

I got the 200Gb Sandisk Micro SD Card

This case, which adds bulk but the phone feels well protected. The screen protector that came with it sucks

Bingo! I have had cases that covered the buttons and other cases with cutouts for the buttons and I much prefer the cutouts. Having the case cover the buttons just ruins the feel of the buttons for me. I'm hoping that Cruzerlite will soon release a case for this phone as I've been very happy with the Cruzerlite case for the Moto G.

Did the 200GB SD Card work? I tried a 128GB last night and ran into nothing but issues. I'm mainly using this phone as an MP3 player and I had to use a spare 64GB card instead.
Edit- It read the card and formatted properly but I tried copying music from my internal storage to the card using Solid Explorer and the card got very unstable. I think it got corrupt somewhere in the process, and is no longer able to be formatted. I should be getting a new one from Amazon but I'm hesitant on trying it again as it may just not be supported by the phone.

I have the 200GB from the link on Amazon above. I formated it when I put it in the phone first time and then took it out and got all the files I need using my PC. Put it back in the phone and all is great. Have some music and movies that I stream to a chromecast device.

I have found a cheap and usable solution for a felt backing to my tablet. 99 cents:
http://www.dickblick.com/products/quick-stick-felt/
I found this at my local Michaels Arts and Crafts Store -- cut it a little smaller to size and then paste it to the back of the device. You might want to jot down the serial number first, in case you misplace the box.
I no longer have concerns about moving it on my desk and scuffing up the back.

I traced around the tablet on the vinyl backing. Then i cut the overall size down another 1/8" or so all the way around. Then line the vinyl up and start working from one side to the other. I only removed enough of the backing to get it started, then worked it on from there. Doing it this way you can work out any bubbles as you go, which works great.

Sounds good.
PM when you decide.
When I get a chance, I'll scan the backing of my vinyl that I applied. It is pretty close to perfect size, so you have to be exact when puting in on.
So, we putting together a group buy of this stuff or are we just gonna push rothnic into mass production of the things (like he doesn't do enough already LOL)?
Seriously though, I want on the CF Vinyl bandwagon, however I don't see the need for me personally to have 10 square feet.
Looking forward to your pattern, rothnic.
I used the link in Rothnic's post to order mine. $9.99 shipped was the price. It is really easy to apply, and surprisingly it laid down smooth on the curved edges. It is very tough, and looks cool. I did similar to Rothnic by just laying the tablet face down on the vinyl and tracing. Then I cut it about an 1/8th inch smaller. Fit great, and even let me peel it back up a couple times to get it right..
I really like it. Thanks again Rothnic.
I followed Rothnic's links to ebay and bough some 3M carbon vinyl film and I have to say, it ROCKS! I bought it from a different vendor for the same price, the vinyl itself is very heavy duty and easy to work with when applying. If you have ever fought with vinyl before (and maybe lost) this is a much better class of product than the old stuff. I'll put a quick tutorial on how I did it here just to show how easy it is since this is a DIY post after I get to 8 posts.
After reading Rothnic's original post I got excited and called all the sign shops in town looking for carbon fiber vinyl film. Much to my disappointment no one had it. One sign shop an hour away had it, but wanted $30 for a 12 inch x 12 inch piece of it. Who knows, maybe it was real carbon fiber but I said "screw that" and just ordered a 12 inch by 48 inch piece off ebay for 9.99 including shipping. In the meantime I went to a sign shop close to where I work and bought a small piece of vinyl just to practice on. Gray and sparkly was as close to carbon fiber as I could get and it turned out okish to use temporarily. The new vinyl however was easier to apply and looked better to boot.
Thanks again Rothnic!

Its a nice low profile folder style case, priced reasonably at $17 shipped.
Only problem is apparently there is no side tabs (two bottom ones and one at top),
For some reason (unlike the rest of the stuff) its not listed on witglobal web store.
Find the ebay listings here.
Update: they have listed it on their webstore as well (for $16 shipped).

Update : they have also added a tab-less version (with 4 straps) for $17
Update : they have also 3 official Malata cases v2 (doesn't block the USB port) for $16 shipped.
Looks really nice and slim. But I don't understand what prevents the GTab from sliding out the side of the folio case. With tabs only on the top and bottom, it seems like the GTab can slip out sideways by accident.
Looks like someone bought it. If the buyer is on this forum, hopefully they'll come back here to post a review.
Just sent a couple of questions to the seller about that, hopefully I'll have a positive response. If nothing else, you could always get some foam or rubber to put on the tabs themselves, I would imagine that would keep it nice and snug in there, and protect the tablet from any scratches.
I would expect it to be a tight fit and friction would hold it in.
There are 10 cases sold so far (7 from the expired US listing and 3 from the current listing).
Lets hope any of these makes its way on of the members here.
Looks too unstable for me. I would be crying if it slipped out and hit some concrete.
Hello. Iave order one of these case but still haven't receive it. I will let you know if its ok

Stability of the Case
I would agree about the possibility of gtab sliding out of this case. I have one of their USB cases with clips on the left side as well as on the top and bottom and occassionally, the gtab will slip out the right side if I put it in my backpack the wrong direction. I would much rather see the unit slide in from the top down so that the case clasp would hold it in and have clips on the other three sides (left, right and bottom). I would think that a little velcro might be a good idea. I have the soft side of two long velcro strips on the back and it slides in and out ok. Not sure what would happen with the thickness of the assembly with the clips and velcro. It might be too large. I use the velcro when I use the gtab on my treadmill. Holds it from excess vibration from running.
As far as Witglobal goes, ordering process went smooth, took about three weeks total time to receive the case from them.

Thanks for letting us know. I figured someone here would buy one of these cases! Anyway, I'd love to hear how the case works out after you receive it. Some photos of your GTab in the case would also be nice!
Just Ordered One
I just ordered one. I'll let you know how it goes when I get it. I already got the case with keyboard from the same company. It took 3-4 weeks for it to come in, so don't be in a rush if you decide to order something from them.
As for this case not having tabs on the side, if the tab does seem to slide a bit I may glue a rubber mat/mesh to the back of the case, the same stuff used in tool boxes, drawers, etc. I would assume between the mesh and the friction of the tabs the tablet will stay in place.
How thick is the whole thing once the GTab is installed? Also, can the flap that covers the screen fold all the way back or does it only go a little over 90°? Very interested.

Looking at the pics, I would assume it would be like the case I already have. Yes, the cover will fold back on itself, but then the kickstand will not be able to fold out. Although it is possible to fold the cover back and open the kickstand on it.
Hope that answers your question.
Sorry fo the delay, I've been busy.
I'll let everyone know when it comes in.

Hi all sorry to kinda steal the thread but ...
Hope someone can help
Can anyone please confirm that the witglobal site is a real one and not a fake, it would be one thing to buy accessories for a couple of dollars, but another sending out 400$ for a tablet that would never show up
I've been searching the internet like crazy and yahoo answers says their fake (well someone does) and their company is registed at some room in an appartment building, so ...
Also i do live in western europe so if anyone has any knowledge for me that would be great.
thx in advance.
Why would you buy from them a $400 tablet ?!?
No more reliable alternatives ?
If its the g-tab you are looking for why not check at steve's store ($350 + shipping).
Any way, if you really must shop at witglobal for such high ticketed items, make sure you use paypal, if within 45 days you are not satisfied with your transaction paypal will get you your money back.
Hope that helps,

Thanks for the images, how is the build quality ? does it look cheap as it cost
do you think it wont slide out of the case if the case is hold vertically (being put in or taken out of a bag or something) ?
Also it would be great if you can post a link to that second seller you found

The build quality is good better from other cases I saw. The first thing I did was to hold the case vertically and shake it to see if it will slide out. its very tight. I will post the link tonight

How do you insert the GTab into this case? Do you sort of snap it into the case from above, and the clips grab the tablet? Or do you sort of slide the tablet in from the side? If the clips are very tight, then I imagine sliding the tablet in from the side may scratch the edges of the tablet?

Hi,
I just got a gel case and set of 3 screen protectors off of Ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/17068638073...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_4357wt_1037
http://www.ebay.com/itm/18072112098...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_4900wt_1037
I'm not associated with the seller, but thought that if anyone was interested:
- The gel case (I got the white one) fits pretty well. Snug, and all the holes in the right places (the power and volume+/- buttons are covered, but slightly raised).
- The protectors were actually not bad. I always hate putting these things on (bubbles, dust), but these were pretty heavy gauge plastic or whatever, so not bad for 3-4 USD (incl shipping).
- Shipping to East Coast U.S. took about 2 weeks (seller shipped next day, but then...).
Just an FYI.
My daughter, who also has an SGP5, bought locally, and paid almost $50 for case and protector (with "lifetime warranty"). She's still telling me she likes hers better, but for less than $10, I like mine ...

Hi,
I'm the OP. The one (white) that I got does have cutouts for the speakers (both the speaker below the rear camera and the other one near the "bottom" of the SGP5).
Jim
I bought this gel case and these styluses,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/180721123550?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
http://www.ebay.com/itm/180658846208?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
This case has two additional cut out area, one for the upper left corner and one to the left of the usb port on the bottom. All cutouts work and the buttons are covered, but the area is raised so its easy to access them.
I originally bought a $10 dollar stylus and these ones are much cheaper. They aren't made of a metal body but they do the job if anyone needs styluses for their device.

White New Soft TPU Gel Case Cover Skin
Thanks to those who recommended this skin cover for the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 from seller "thomaszoe1314" on ebay.
White New Soft TPU Gel Case Cover Skin For Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 G70 YP-G70 (180721120989)
I paid $4.88 with free shipping from HongKong! I ordered the white one on 12/15 and was delivered just two weeks later by USPS even with the holiday rush.
It fits perfectly snug and was just right in terms of tightness for installation without forcing too hard. It has solved the problem with the SGP5.0 being hard to hold onto and also when setting it down on a hard surface without a thud.
The skin is attractive and has a couple of unnecessary holes for other versions but they dont do any harm.
Along each edge where where you pick it up, there are nice treads to improve the grip even further.
When sliding SGP5.0 into my shirt pocket the plastic doesn't "stick" to the fabric and make it hard to get into my pocket.
The plastic doesn't stink like some cheap toy plastics and the molding details are all refined and top quality.
The buttons (power and volume) are fully functional beneath the plastic.
Very pleased, and thanks again to the previous posters here that alerted me to this bargain!

Hi,
I just got a gel case and set of 3 screen protectors off of Ebay:

Hi,
Actually, I hadn't noticed that, but when I put the 2nd one on another SGP5, there is a piece that covers the home button area that can be popped out (which I actually did). Sorry about not mentioning that in the original post.
Jim
P.S. My SGP5s are all US versions.
Just wanna share this.

I am a huge fan of instant charging my phones. I swap batteries to make my phone essentially charge in 10 seconds. What I never liked about this is I could never use a case. I really don't want to fool around with removing a case, just to replace the battery. Pretty excited about this phone, but so far I have not been able to find a good case that allows for module swapping without having to take the entire case off and put it back on every time I swap. So far I am only interested in the battery module / default.
So what gives? Are there any cases that allow you to keep the case on and swap the battery? If not... sure would be nice. Also, the camera module... are there any cases that support the use of that module?
Seems strange to me that these things have not been considered yet for cases.
get a skin instead...
less protection, but less hassle
no doubt, manufacturers like zerolemon will make an extended battery with built-in case.
I don't think there's a market for a (normal-sized) battery with built-in case. If you look at how the bottom is removed, it's very hard to design a case that doesn't cover the bottom. maybe just a bumper case?

I don't know, a 2 part case seems like the obvious way to go about it. Could even make it interlock on the exterior to squash that 'gap between module and phone' issue.
I just have a cheap TPU case that I got off amazon..., however I can pop the bottom of the phone out to allow access to change the battery and just snap the bottom of the case back on the phone.

2 -part.... when you drop the phone, more chance of the case absorbing initial impact, break into two and fly away, and phone gets hurt after
maybe someone will make it for the lg g5.... not useful for other phones (where you remove the back to gain access to the battery)

Even with a 2 part case, the modules are different fits and sizes so I don't think any case would work... unless LG comes up with some slick idea. I don't think the Camera module would work with a case since it fits tight against the back of the phone and the audio module is a bit bigger than the default bottom.

I was aware that given designs of modules no single case would work for all modules. But, it is possible to have a case designed to fit a few. Would probably require multiple module cases 1 for each module along with a case that has break away backs to accommodate things like the camera mod. I only really care about the default module though, so I would be fine with that to start.
I am kind of taken back by this. I figure either I am the rare bird who utilizes the removable battery in a way that is rare (10 second recharge time - every time - never plug my phone in), or making a phone case is a much more difficult thing than I would imagine it to be. Either way or otherwise, guess I will just wait for a bit and check around later.

I simply do not agree. Are you saying a random company could make a case that falls apart? I agree! But an honest effort at making a 2 part case should result in a case that does not fall apart when dropped from reasonable distances.
I have had a good few Spigen cases for other phones and they have all been good quality. Ive just orded this. Spigen style armour.

Yay, I just found this case and came here to post about it. By far the best case for this phone so long as it protects well. 2 part case - hard to develop and design? Nope. I will be looking at reviews for this over the next couple of weeks to see how it goes. Fired up now. Next step is a modular case that is similar but has a break away for the camera module .

I have that Spigen case as well. It's not as thick/protective as other Spigen cases I've used, but I do love the modularity.
PLEASE NOTE that you need to be careful with this one if you have a screen protector. It's a very tight slide-on case, which sheared my screen protector off. So you need a little bit of margin on your screen protector for this case. I have seen a few screen protectors that advertise as "case friendly" which might be better with this one.

I haven't actually used me style armor yet , just sitting in my draw, it ok for me, I've never dropped a phone before apart from a flip non android, and that is like 9 years ago.
The thickness is ok for me, never liked those extra thick ones like UAG etc.
I also have a few more cases coming in which are made to accommodate the hifi modular adapter and a few extra hifi modular cover. and looking at the design, those hifi modular cover might even support the style armor case.
also purchased this morning another case that supports the hifi modular adding to my previous cam plus TPU case, I have a few cases that I might not even have a chance to use them all.
I have posted some photos in the case thread.
I also have a few screen protector coming in but not tried them yet.
I was shopping around for another LG G5 for my wife, and I found what looks to be the second case that allows for modular battery swapping while the case is on. http://www.toastmade.com/products/lg-g5.html
I have not found any reviews for this yet, unfortunately.
Edit: I spoke a little too soon. I do like this case, but it is not a case. It is more like a wrap, or cover.

Hello everybody,
now that the first HTC U11 are going to get delivered it's time to talk about some accessories as well. As the in-build case seemingly ages in shortest time, that'd be one part. But other accessories should not go unmentioned.
Thus I'm opening up this thread to - even if my U11 is not delivered yet - show you which accessories I already got or am going to get for the U 11.
First off and to have one besides the one coming in the box, I ordered an ultra slim TPU bumper case from MaxKu to have one surrounding the whole frame of the device.
In addition I already pre-ordered the Spigen Liquid Crystal Case which covers up all of the frame as well, and where I am sure my device is going to be protected really well. It is in addition Edge Sense optimized, by flats in the region of the Edge Sense Sensors (see picture attached).
Second thing I wanted to accomplish was to connect my U11 to the TV via HDMI, while still able to charge it meanwhile. My choice fell onto the EgoIoggo USB-C-Hub where I could not only connect TV to my U11 using HDMI, but also another USB device by utilization of two additional USB-ports. It is already working fine on my HTC 10 and I'm looking forward to try it on my U11 soon.
I'll try to link all products mentioned and linked in the replys of this thread to the second and third post, depending on where they fit better. Guess following this way everyone will be able to watch up the mentioned products and decide for themself which one to finally buy.
Best regards

Can someone recommend a good case that does not cover the right and left edges of the LCD? I like using apps like Sidebar that allows a custom side tray to be lauched from swiping from the edges. Very helpful when switching through my frequently used apps without visiting the home screen (and increasing the risk of the app being closed).
Thanks.

I'm curious about this too. I won't pre-order a case until I see some reviews, especially since a case could potentially interfere with the edge operations.

I agree about the included case. In past phone releases I'd guess that the case manufacturers received and used a dummy phone in order to create a case that fits. I'm wondering if the case manufacturers should have asked for/received that cheap included case as well so that they could have figured out which part of their cases needed to be unblocked/open for proper functionality.

They must have had dummies for sure. At least Spigen seems to have had one, looking at their case.

There are very few options out there! This is worrisome. The HTC 10 had far more at launch.
I'm really looking for a full body clear skin. Don't really wanna cover up that beautiful rear. Did the same with my 10 and it's been perfect (even made it easier to grip).
I think a big reason for no cases is HTC kept the u11 from leaking a heck of a lot more. They must not have released care of the phone to case makers. Seidio has some on their website coming soon
