Unlocked SM-G900T - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

First id like to say this is my first time posting in any forum. I do apologize if this is in the wrong spot. I recently got an unlocked galaxy s5. Its the sm-g900t so originally made for tmobile i guess but it was unlocked brand new. When i took it home i was using it and noticed it was running android 4.4. Obviously i went to the settings and tried to update to the newest OS. It searched but couldnt find any updates. So i download samsung kies, it said it found the latest version and downloaded it. I installed it and everything and now when i boot the phone i get tmobiles boot logo and all their bloatware. Is there a way, anyway to download an android OS that is completely stock like for an unlocked phone? When i got the phone and turned it on there was no tmobile boot logo or any bloatware. Ive been searching online and cant really find anything on it. If someone could help me out id be ever so thankful!

The reason it couldn't find any updates, is that the previous owner had installed a non-Stock Rom. By using Kies, you overwrote the firmware with Stock firmware.
You have a few options:
1) You can root your current phone and then de-bloat. This will keep WiFi Calling and you can decide what is bloat and what isn't. Titanium Backup can freeze apps you don't like, or there are several de-bloating methods on this forum.
2) You can install an AOSP (Android Open Source Project) based ROM. There are several on this forum (under Development sub-forum), and on the other SM-900 fora, especially the International S5 forum.
3) You can go with a CyanogenMod ROM.
The good thing about the SM-900T is that is has an unlocked bootloader, so you can flash to your heart's content.
Rob

My Note 4 N910T was the same way. I almost bet anything it's a Rent A Center phone. Just download the stock firmware and odin update and you will be good.

Unroot?

Hi all, today i woke up and found ICS was available for download for my Sensation XE, i downloaded the update and started the install but on the reboot is sits on a little android screen with an ! inside a tri-angle, i checked online and found this would be down to the face my phone is rooted so i started lookin for an option to unroot my phone to allow me to update everything to ICS.
I have looked at the UNROOT any android device topic and had problems finding the "stock recovery" or Recovery.img.
How the hell can i find this and unroot my phone? I have already run a full hard reset but still cannot update my phone

flash the stock rom..
The good part is not all stock rooms are available. That is RUU's anyway. I wanted to unroot my phone a long time ago, but come to find out you cant unless the RUU have been leaked. And since my phone company is small and local (Bluegrass Cellular), I cannot find any available for them.
So it depends on your carrier.
Im with 02 in the UK which is one of the biggest in europe/uk.
I did some research and came across a guide for unrooting the sensation 4g with links to ROMs: www(dot)filefactory(dot)com/f/c87a2330449af512/
Within this link i found this firmware:
RUU_Pyramid_O2_UK_1.50.206.1_R_Radio_10.58.9035.00U_10....
Now my question is, would this work for my Sensation XE? Or is it just for the Sensation 4G?
Why don't you just flash a custom rom with thats built on ics? Like this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1429953

[Q] Verizon Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet (SGP561)

Recently picked it up, an SGP561. I have some questions and I'd love all of the help I can get.
1. How to install a custom ROM on it (just in case). If I can't get the updated Sony firmware, I might as well jump to an Android 5 ROM once they're stable.
2. How to update the stock firmware. Everytime I go to the System Update thing it says there was an "Error during DM Session"? I'd really like to update to 4.4.4 stock to get some of those nifty Sony features.
3. Anyway to get the damn thing to shut up when I turn it on? I'm not using it on a data network, just WiFi, but I like having the option, but everytime I start the damn thing up (from being completely off) it makes a calling new and does through this automated annoying thing asking me about purchasing a calling pin, and it does that for about 7 minutes and makes me about go insane.
Anyway, thanks guys. Boxes of donuts to all of those who answer.
(Already rooted the thing)
Hi Grayson,
1. Currently, there is no way to unlock the SGP561's bootloader. So basicly, you can't install any custom rom that is not based on stock rom (or use custom kernel).
2. Mine gets the same error. But you can download the latest ftf file for SGP561 and flash it manually using flashtool (sadly, the latest version is still at 4.4.2).
3. I face the similar situation, the tablet automatically dial some number to activate it when it boots up. All I did was just simply removing the Verizon SIM card (I don't use data anyway).
1. Well ****. That's actually very concerning... This tablet probably won't ever see Android 5.0 then... unless some genius out there cracks this bootloader deal. I know how Verizon is with things.. or I'll see an outdated version of Android a year after all other variants get it. Are there any ROM options?
2. How do you go about doing that? Pardon the noobishness.
3. Thanks! I didn't even know that there was a SIM card in there in the first place. That was a great help. Same here though.

1. Yeah, I know how that feels. You bought one of the top high-end tablet and then figured out that it has the outdated software and there is no way to update. I've been looking for other solutions for months but still found nothing.
2. The latest version is now 17.1.D.0.437. You can check in your tablet settings to know whether yours is on the latest or not. If it's not the following links may help.
Here is the instruction how to use flashtool (just in case you have no idea about it): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2054486
And here is the link for the latest ftf file for SGP561: https://mega.co.nz/#!VZYHRAKT!wky8U_6G9aB4XctdfKMIaJQZtdlnWTtNv0pNLlgh0AM (I got from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2-tablet/help/flashed-wrong-boot-bricked-t2839828)
Well this all sucks a lot. Why can't they just leave the bootloader unlocked... hopefully this tablet wasn't just a massive waste of money.

I got mine two days ago, also have the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, which I use at the office, but I needed something that had a smaller screen, was light, and had 4G, and the Sony ticked the right boxes. I WISH I could use Xposed but it can't write to /System. I have it rooted and got rid of some bloat, and the only thing I really want now is for Xposed to work.
You guys don't think Verizon will update this tablet to Lollipop?
Hi I just updated my tablet to lollipop and I'm having problems with it. I tried downloading the ftf for kitkat above but he kinks we're dead. Do you still have it by chance?
Still no options to unlock the Verizon's SGP561 ?

I've been looking for so many ways, but there just doesn't seem to be anything.
Some people in this thread have stated that they were able to downgrade & unlock, but a lot of people were also saying that it doesn't work.
It's seriously incredible that our phone has been purposefully handicapped this way, forcing us to use out of date and insecure versions of Android. I'm never buying a Samsung phone again.
Have a look at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2690033
Never mind same thing.
There is a guy on Ebay that will check if he has any 4.1.2 phones if you ask him. I got a couple and they are in fine condition.
Search Ebay for 51buyusa, and just ask him if he has any, one of them even had TWRP installed when I got it.
So much information that is misleading to weather or not this is possible, I Have my phone rooted, and have the latest version of Safestap
when I go into Safestrap it does not display full screen but still is usable Safestrap 3.75 (twarp v2.71.0) verizon
Phone i605 from verizon ND7
in the beginning I was getting an error message on startup something aobut verzion found ham full software on my phone and would not allow it to boot, I was able to flash the stock rom wiping everything cant remember how I did this but the software and stock rom are on my home computer I'm living away for the time being, I always noticed I had the Safestrap logo on boot up but not sure how it stayed on the device I was always afraid to enter enter the recovery because I didn't want to get locked out away from home, well some time later, I'm am Sick @ how of how slow this stock rom is so having a backup phone in the case I throw it at the wall, I entered the Safestrap recovery and it came up YAY!
So i saw the new rellease of CM 13 thinking this is gonna be great but for some reason when I go to make a new rom slot I have 0 free space with this version of Safestrap not blaming any one, just my findings my internal storage and external storage are 0 in size and I can't seem to mount them I tried installing using an older version of Safestrap that does not have Rom slots it when installing it times out and turns the screen off does not work. I reboot my phone out of safestrap and it says I have no OS, but it boots just fine hmmm
I hope someone can help me help others
I think it would be great considering some Apps I use are not working on my version of android anymore and verizon does not seem to care to offer an upgrade to lollipop...

URGENT!: i really need to do a reset to fix all of these issues.

Whoever can respond with an answer will be a godsend. S**t hit the fan so hard so quick. to give a rundown of whats happening. just recently returned from traveling abroad. during that time something happened. cant hardly remember. whatever happened. i can recall i knew i needed a rooted phone to fix it. (im pretty tech literate) so ive tried ping pong root. im running 6.0.1 marshmellow on my s6 edge G925A. ive learned a root is not possible on this version. but for 5.1.1 it is. however id prefer to stick to 6.0.1 so i kept digging. now that was over a course of 3 weeks with no access to a computer across seas. so i decided to take the time to learn to use odin to flash a rom since from what i read ive found a rooted 6.0.1 att rom. (I could care less about knox. past warranty etc.) its more important for me to have a functioning phone that i can have control over. but the issue was ads popping up system wide. random acts of terror on my phone. phone would randomly install apks/files. or force close every app suddenly. uninstall apps. NOTE: i havent side loaded any apks other then ping pong root from the xda thread. nor any other file that would seem to have possibly been tainted that i downloaded. whatever happened. thats the past. right now its gotten worse. ive decided to try to sit down and figure out odin to fix it. now yes i could do a factory reset and get on with my life. but i really want a rooted phone. and since ive got a backup and im already in the middle of it.. why not just root it. but that tar file is for 5.1.1. not 6.0.1. so im curious if thats the case im gonna just install a custom rom which would be way more open and user controlled then freaking AT&T's so called open interface of android. so im here to ask. is it possible to go from 6.0.1 stock marshmallow android and flash the Extreme Syndicate v3.1 Custom ROM for my phone for version 5.1.1 Lollipop android? if so can you provide a somewhat step by step if needed. ive read you would have to flash stock rooted 5.1.1 then flash the custom ROM. if thats true please point it out. I need this phone to be alive and well for my business while allowing me to make it mine. not a brick so im open to any advice to get this task done. xdadevelopers are a life saver to say the least. but right now im needing a big life save now. so anything helpful is needed ASAP! THANK YOU for reading and helping a needy soul out! heres a list of specs and short rundown so you dont have to sort through this life story lmao!
phone model and build at the moment:
Model: Samsung Galaxy S6 edge (SAMSUNG-SM-G925A) (Unrooted)
Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow)
Build MMB29K.G925AUCS5DPI1

Again. I want to know if i can flash Extreme Syndicate 5.1.1or any other custom ROM's you guys Rep for. so my phone so i can have control over my phone. if so please list steps as using odin and such im fairly new to. since im just now starting to learn android community. its been great. but hopefully i can get a little hands on instead of standing on the sidelines. anyways. THANK YOU for any and all help towards my Experience of this mess.

Right here are a few things from my knowlegde before you try anything.
Ping pong root only works with some firmwares, to root your G925A it must have the exact firmware G925AUCU1AOCE which is 5.1.1. You can try it and do download data first, then turn on airplane mode then try to root. Chances are it will fail.
Extreme syndicate v3 is for lollipop firmware only, your current firmware is 6.0.1 so you will find it impossible to flash as the bootloader will have been locked on upgrade to marshmallow. (Im yet to find anybody successful in downgrading) and also the dev has stopped for this ROM.
AT&T lock down there firmwares so its very hard to find any firmwares other than the ones available over smart switch.
Overall i dont think there is any root available for G925A 6.0.1 nor will there ever be.
As your on 6.0.1 you wont be able to find or flash any custom ROM as they are all on 5.1.1 as root was available for this version and not for 6.0.1
Only thing you can really do is wipe data/cache from recovery and your ad problem will be fixed.

yea... i figured. didnt know if anyone had any ideas that they knew personally. the ads were on a so called system bloatware app. so just disabling and manually corrupting its files stop it from working. hence ads quit popping up. as for root. i agree. when i get a s7. gonna buy it unlocked so i dont have this issue. i dont understand why customizing a phone is such a sin..

I always get my phones unlocked, or on a network that can accept flashed stock from different networks. AT&T and tmobile are a pain in the backside. I agree if you can go for the international s7

bricked S4 AT&T

dear team,
locked SGH-I337. Im not able to recall the basband version and firmware version of my device now. What im remembering is what I root it with kingroot and installed xposed along with Safestrap recovery module. I was unaware about the bootloaders using at AT&T versions at those time. I was able to use the device for more than 6 months without any issues. But it went to black screen since from last week. What I did the wort was I formated it via safestrap and tried to restore the backup file which I made while healthy run of my phone. I tried for some solutions from Xda and its been like that before. I heard that the software version couldnt get downgraded from a typical Android version (Im not sure its MK3 or not) onwards due to the bootloader restrictions. Currently the phone is not loading to recovery screen, but its getting loaded to Download mode for God's sake. I tried every solutions marked in Xda threads and still it been like a 9K costed paper weight. I dont know who I can seek help other than Heaven of developers, Xda.
please help me.....
thanks in advance,
AKSSHATH
You could flash the stock firmware with Odin.
You can find it here: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SGH-I337&details=Galaxy_S_4_ATT
