Wi-Fi broken again for this build. My wifi chip is BCM43228
Sent from my on Z00A using XDA Labs

Do you have to uninstall previuos version before the new installation?
Will the Tool automatically replace the previous version??? Or it has to be uninstalled before that?

anyone having an issue with Play Activator? It just stays in activation loop and does nothing

Native support to change screen resolution for hi-res screens, or do I have to continue using a magnifying glass?

Use the built in Remix tool.
It will remove the previous version and install the new one.

Deleted

It detects my wifi card, but doesn't do anything with it. Remix 2.0 used it just fine

Go to the main Remix OS website. It'll direct you. It's not an OTA update just yet.

Why my pc can't find wifi???

Seconded. No use having 2 copies of our every documents on Windows and RemixOS...
An easy way to enable root in settings
I only need this for an audio enhancement app but it would be useful for other things

And basically way more driver support, I think we'll have to be patient on that end

Tutorial for installing inside virtualbox or Qemu. Qemu would be better.
Allow installation direct from ISO onto Hypervisors - Qemu, Virtualbox, VMWare, Hyper-V, etc instead of needing to dump onto USB stick.
Support vga for second monitor
Screen recorder
Updating all of their devices to Android Marshmallow!!

Why do you need to dump to USB first? ISO runs fine in VBox.
support for tincore keymapper style overlay apps, or better yet build in a keymapper into remix.

You can't persist data running from the ISO directly.
I want to install it on VMWare workstation !
I know it probably wont happen but xposed for android desktop would be bloody awesome!
How about liveDVD?
Booting from liveDVD, just like Linux distros do it.
I beg you, add this feature.
My BIOS is not detecting any pendrives plugged into USB 3.0 ports, which are needed to boot this OS up.
(It's detected in USB 2.0, but it's too slow, only 4,5MB/s writing speed. The funny thing is that both ports - 2.0 and 3.0 - can be used by Win7 and Linux Mint that I have installed, no problem with that at all. It's just my BIOS that hates me.)
I just want to put a DVD Disc with RemixOS on it and try it out.
This would be a killer feature, since many ppl end up having problems with their pendrives/partitions/usb2.0/usb3.0/bios settings...
My Wishlist!
Most Importantly, the possibility of opening, and (just emphasis, no yelling here  ) MAKING CHANGES TO files in the windows-formatted partitions (R/W mode) , HDMI Audio, Better driver support for both WiFi adapters as well as Graphics Cards (NVIDIA to be precise (like my 610M )), XPOSED, and a custom-recovery-like interface with apt functionalities.
An own web browser, maybe a Chromium fork (which is optimized for the desktop) that has the default setting to load desktop pages (there is no way to set this as default on Chrome), accepts right-clicks and shows a popup, etc.
But so far I haven't been able to even get RemixOS to boot on my Laptop (Nvidia GT-540M), although I have a Remix Mini (2GB) which I use regularly, so driver support is definitely #1 for me.
Is dual monitors supported yet? If not, than dual monitor support

dual boot menu support touch screen or at last volume key?

Hi every one I have new dell xps 12 but my detachable keyboard doesn't working so when I trying to boot into remix OS I have to plug an external keyboard to choose between Windows 10 and remix OS is there any method to install dual boot menu support touch screen like Chinese dual boot tablet or at last support volume key.. thanks

It does support touch screen. That's how I choose it on my HP laptop. Your touch screen must not be supported yet. But I agree there should be an alternate option.
Thanks for reply...
But Are you sure? I didn't know that
I have to tablet PC and gurb2 boot menu not effective with touch screen
Since you are using windows. The windows boot manager supports touchscreen. I'm sure there info on creating entries for it to chainload grub2 from it

UEFI WBM can't load anything other than windows bootloader; so it can't chainload grub2. It does however see any /efi folder as a seperate UEFI [usb] device.

Yes. I use my touch screen on my laptop to choose either Windows or Remix.
If Windows was installed in BIOS mode, you get the Windows boot menu which is touch compatible, but if Windows was installed in UEFI mode, then the Windows boot menu can't be used to load non-Windows operating systems (thanks Microsoft) and so you get the non-touch grub boot menu. Annoying, I know, and it's the reason I ended up rebuilding my Lenovo Thinkpad Helix in BIOS mode, despite the slower boot process.

Volume keys are tricky because oem's aren't required to map them or they map them to different keys at boot
Hello, any news about a touch enabled bootloader?
Exciting thread for XPS 12 9250 owners
I've had my refurbished XPS 12 9250 since August 2016. I've not attempted any modifications, but would like to use the Google Play Store rather than the Microsoft App Store. Microsoft apps are so far behind and lacking compared to android.
Thank you @katana444 for creating this thread. Was wondering about your post here on the "Remix OS for PC" referencing android-86 rc2, and my assumption that you could run it on the 9250. Please update me on this. I see you thanked @KamaL on @idz1992 's Remix OS for PC > android x86 6.0-rc2 thread, here. Seems you would like like your boot solution here to be better.
Amazing support from members who may not own this tablet PC, so thanks to @bonez , @Milamber33, @HypoTurtle , @Maromi who all have great Remix OS xda feedback elsewhere as well. :good:
Here is an interesting article: Remix OS on Surface 3
I've been tempted to sell this tablet PC at a loss (I paid $640 for the 256GB 4k version) and move to the android Pixcel C, since I have many android apps. But I can't give this nice little tablet PC up given hopes this thread and the Remix OS thread comes up with viable alternate OS solutions (preferably dual-boot Windows/Android). Please feel free to continue this thread, create an XPS 12 9250 thread, or PM me on any successful OS installs on this tablet. :fingers-crossed:

So Does Remix OS Still Work On Virtual-BOX?

I haven't paid attention in Remix OS in a while but since I notice that the program got better over time I want to re-try Remix OS but on V-Box. -- I did try it on V-Box but I was very unsuccessful in getting it to work. The reason I would like to try it out on V-Box because it gives me an idea on what I can do or not. Before I install it on my very old laptop. So my question is can Remix OS now work on V-Box? -- What I mean is work on Residential mode not Guest mode. Since before it was always on Guest mode.
For Remix OS version 2.0.403 you can use post "Remix OS on hard drive or virtual machine", especially 5. Installation of Remix OS on Hard Disk or within a Virtual Machine.
Today I could not start version 3.0.101 using INSTALL=1 on a hard disk. So I guess that at the moment version 3.0.101 is not suitable for Virtualbox.

I was able to get it working on V-Box is just that it won't allow me to install or update apps on the Google Play Store.

I just installed Remix OS 3.0.101 32bit on Virtualbox successfully using this method. After enabling the Google Play Store within the Debug Terminal Console I could sign on to Google and install an app. Everything was quite slow, but it worked.

There are so many different instructions on how to install Remix on VB. While the instructions above will get it installed, the Play store won't work correctly. The only instructions I've found that CORRECTLY install Remix and have a working Play store are these here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66047894&postcount=114
If you follow those exactly, you'll have a good working Remix install in VB.

thanks. I just used this method, and it works like a charm.
btw: the post mentioned up to 30 minutes boot-time....my boot is very fast (below 1 minute)
there should be a fixed post with the key-points there are to make this work, which are:
1) preformat/partition the virtual HD (is the swap partition realy needed?)
2) add "INSTALL=1 DEBUG=" to Kernel parameters
3.0 doesn't appear to work in Hyper-V / Windows 10 Pro. It just spins forever at the RemixOS logo fading in and out.

Black screen after language choosing

Hello. I successfully installed RemixOS on my PC (Dualboot with Win10). It even starts, but gives me the black screen (with the mouse pointer I can move) after the "Choose your language" screen. Any ideas?
My config is:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450
4 GB RAM, DDR2
Geforce GTX660
Two monitors
Try Remix OS 3.0.102 32bit version
I guess that you tested the Remix OS 3.0.102 64bit version only. Try the 32bit version - may be that it will work correctly. Others have had the same problem which you described using the 64bit version - see link.

I installed the 32-bit version, and it doesn't even appear in boot menu.
I have the same problem ... Any one know How to solve it?
Sent from my ONE E1003 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Exact same problem here. Installed it tonight alongside Win10 and can only get as far as the OP described.
When I press some random keys on the keyboard after waiting I get a message that says Jide Setup Wizard isn't responding and asks me if I want to wait or click OK. When I wait it just returns to a black screen for an eternity or when OK is clicks it cycles through the language select option and just hangs again.
So annoying, I was REALLY looking forward to having android on my desktop
The same problem with 64bit version for my x200, but the 32bit is no problem.

Remix OS 2.0 on Teclast X80 Power, CPU: Atom X5-Z8300

I've successfully managed to get Remix OS 2.0 to run on my Teclast X80 Power Win/Android tablet. This tablet is based on the X5-Z8300 Intel Atom chipset, and I've removed and cleared out the Windows partition and gave the entire storage space/drive to the Android image.
I've also successfully removed and disabled the Remix launcher and run Nova Launcher Prime on it.
What I would like to do next is to remove the Taskbar and Notification tray of the Remix OS 2.0. I've seen a few posts regarding why anyone would like to do this, the answer is simple, the Remix OS 2.0 Android distribution is the only other distribution that works with my tablet. I have the B2N6 variant of this tablet, so the machetekills custom rom for it does not run (it was designed for the B2N3), however, I do have this tablet rooted with machetekills toolbox and have TWRP installed. From that, I was able to install Magisk and have my tablet rooted. Also, the stock rom that this tablet came with is highly unstable (if you queue up a ton of apps to be installed in Google Play Store, the tablet will eventually lock up and go into its death-roll bootloop til the battery is dead, then after charging the battery up, it will just continue into the bootloop until it kills the battery again, if left in this condition overnight, there is a possibility that the battery is overstressed and can flame up), is a distro from China so security is very questionable, as well as the kernel used was a 32-bit kernel rather than the nice 64-bit kernel in the Remix OS 2.0 distro (shout-out goes to this Korean guy who made a small blog that lead me to the Remix OS 2.0 and he even provided the link to it on his page).
FOR THOSE THAT WANT TO TRY REMIX OS 2.0 on their TECLAST X80 Power, Model B2N4 or B2N6 (as far as I know, the N4 and the N6 have the same software configuration for the touchscreen, the screen rotation/orientation) here is the link to the blog (please be aware that it's in Korean so you may need to run a translate to your own language with Google translate or something):
http://blog.naver.com/starfall909/220911067943
Can anyone please help me with how to remove the taskbar/notification of the Remix OS 2.0 and replaced with the stock Android home, back, applist, and with the notification bar and tray at the TOP of the screen, like a phone? I really do not like using this tablet as a Windows replacement, since this tablet can do that already natively (I've had it running Windows 10 x64 exclusively for the past 3 years) and Android as a desktop is not very good compared to Windows (let's be honest, if Android desktop was a thing, it would be carving a huge chunk out of the desktop marketshare from MacOS and Windows).
Thanks!
