flashing error? - Honor 5X Questions & Answers

So i had a hardricked phone(i thought) but than it worked again. So i flashed pacrom and it went in a hardbrick like state again (using twrp btw)I flashed it with nano gaps and the b330 package so you could get the fingerprint scanner. Than after an hour or so it worked again. Than i started running my battery low on purpose so i knew if it was just stuck or if it was something else. When my phone dies it will reboot again and work. And then i flashed rr with the nano gapps and the b330 package and it did this again, I thought it might have something to do with the b330 package so i flashed it without and it still did this. Then i thought it might have something to do with my twrp because i was still running on version 3.0.0 so i flashed the newer version through fastboot and it did this again!!
I dont know what is going on but my phone is acting really strange.
Does someone know of this problem or has ever heard of it or is my phone just strange?

you need to consider putting your phone back to stock using the dload / update.app for your version nd leave it their until you figure out if your phone is broken or not. flashing roms is just confusing the situation.

Hi Jim, Indeed you need to fully revert back and see if it works.. i will provide you some links since we are from the same region/country.
1. Flash the stock recovery
2. Download this file and put the update.app in a file named 'dload' on the root of your sdcard.
3. Shutdown the phone hold Volume Up+Down and Hit the power button it should start booting and applying the update. Just leave it for like 30 minutes and u should be back at B130 firmware. Then you should receive a update for B140 and once you are on B140 u can upgrade back to B330.
Report back if it worked or you encountered any other issues!

did you take all the updates to b330 ? if so you can pretty safely go to CM13 + gapps nano without any worries.
use one of the newest versions of TWRP
Do a factory reset and flash only CM13 and gapps
reboot let it fully load .. reboot to recovery / backup your fresh install to ext-sd
boot back to the OS and setup your new device.

[q] 5.0 gpe problems please help immedialy!!!!!

So I saw this lollipop rom(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2716306) and I was waiting for the official one from htc but this had what I wanted. It said I need to have the 4.4.4 firmware but I didnt know how to get it because I couldnt get the ota update on stock for a certain reason and so it flashed the 4.4.4 gpe rom then after that I flashed the 5.0 rom but now I have no wifi and when I reboot its in the bootloop and I dont know what to do now. I would appreciate it if anyone could try and help me. Thank you.
If you just flash a GPe rom it dosent mean you flashed the firmware. I was actually having this same problem so I just flashed the US Dev Sense 4.4.4 firmware and the Lollipop rom worked fine.

Scroll all the way down and look for the 3.28.1540.5 firmware and flash that.

Got my KIW-L21 softbricked

Hi,
so, I got my Honor 5x rooted and CM 13 installed a few months ago from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/hon...-unofficial-cyanogenmod-13-0-nightly-t3344499.
Last week or so some apps just didn't exist any more on my phone. Also I wasn't able to download any kinds of things, like apps, documents, pictures or whatever. After some time I figured out, that it was because of my SD-card being dead. When I removed it, all was fine again.
Another problem, that I got from the beginnning of having this ROM installed, I wasn't able to do updates, still don't know why exactly.
So I decided to wipe my phone and reinstall a newer version of CM in hope, that all would be fine again.
After performing backups and so on, I downloaded the latest build of CM from the official website (the one from 1st october) and GApps with ARM64, pushed it on my device and tried to install it with TWRP 3.0.2. I did a full wipe before, also deleting internal storage and System.
Error 7 occured and after some Internet research I read about this "assert" line. Figured out, that I got 2 oft them in this file and deleted the second telling something about the TB number, because it was also named in the error of TWRP.
Then pushed it on the device again and tried to install it. There was no error while installing, but after optimizing the apps, I got bootloops. Tried flashing other ROMs, including the one I got two days before, but it still got the same problem.
Also this huawei eRecovery thingy couldn't help me.
Now I don't know how to get an OS on my phone again, it would be very nice if someone could help me.
I also don't know whether there is a thread, that already deals with this topic, but I didn't know how to search for this.
If there is anything left unclear I'm very sorry, it's my first time posting, please excuse.
Thank you!

No problem mate, Community is Here to help!
The matter is, ROMs built after 18/8/2016 requires that you upgrade to Marshmallow stock ROM that means EMUI 4.0.
then you can flash the custom ROMs without problems.
If you're on bootloop, can you boot to fastboot or TWRP manually?

Try to get back to stock firmware, to do that download the latest firmware, extract to get dload folder containing UPDATE.APP, use Huawei update extractor to extract recovery, Cust, boot and system images.
Flash them to your phone using fastboot, put dload folder in the root of an SD, insert it in your phone and press and hold vol up + vol down + power until the phone boots up to force an update.
Have you already tried this? If not, do this please.
If yes, please elaborate "erecovery could not help me*...

What file did you get (link) ?
theirs no need to use the HuaweiUpdateExtractor, unless you need the stock recovery from it.
all you need is Stock recovery (installed) and the Update.app for your current version
Update.app goes in a folder named dload on the sdcard, now simply shut the phone off and restart it while holding power + volup + voldown
after 5 seconds let go of the power button and continuing holding the vol buttons till you see the update begin (around 25 seconds)

[ROOT][HOW TO] Going from Stock Lollipop to marshmallow official and root it!!!

I see there are some people wondering how to get the marshmallow update from lollipop
I was on stock lollipop rooted and running xposed, everything was perfect, in order to get marshmallow update and root it I did this
Flashed stock rom using the repair rom found here in xda using sp flash tool www.sw-condor.com/smartphones/A55 slim.html
Once in stock, I updated OTA to marshmallow
Once in marshmallow I flashed only the recovery using the same scatter file from the repair rom and the custom twrp for blu vivo 5
Immediately after flashing twrp, booted recovery (power + vol+, once it vibrates al blu logo appears, release power)
Flashed (latest SuperSu)
Enjoy
Screenshots
Screenshots attached.
Thank you for this.
I have already updated to marshmallow but need to root it. The repair rom link isn't working, I need the scatter file to flash recovery. Got another link?
UPDATE - found an mt6573 scatter file, so that's not an issue, but I can not get SP Tools to flash, it basically sits there and does nothing, then I get an error "can not pass bootrom start command". Any chance of a detailed tutorial with pictures or video?
Thanks,

There's 2 possibilities:
The easy one:
If you have the proper drivers, power off the device, wait 10 seconds or so. Then click download in the sp flash tool and then connect the phone, the tricky part is that YOU NEED TO PUSH VOL+ OR VOL- in order to sp flash tool to recognize the phone and start flashing
The not so easy:
You don't have the proper drivers:
I had to install manually a driver, device manager->Select the first item (the name of your computer)-> Action -> Add legacy hardware
You need to download the drivers and then tell the device manager to look for drivers in the specific folder where you downloaded them, then it will find a device, I don't remember its name, follow this guide
Don't forget to hit thanks if I helped :highfive:
Ok, got this working finally. As for the initial issue with SP flash not working, I'm not sure what it was. I have the drivers and everything, but I rebooted the computer/phone (then turned it off) and then it started working. I did also press the volume button when it was off, that may have helped as I didn't know to do that before.
Next, the scatter file I found on the internet somewhere else wasn't correct. I found the correct link to the recovery ROM (you may want to update it in your initial post): http://www.mediafire.com/download/p29wpz59wg9ob2b/BLU_V0050UU_V09_REPAIR.zip
Other than that your guide worked perfectly, thank you.

Is anyone else having terrible battery life on this after upgrading to Marshmallow?
After doing the update to Marshmallow in this thread, I flashed TWRP and rooted via this thread.
Now my battery life has been absolutely terrible. Before updating to Marshmallow, I could go almost all day, have 35%+ left at night, goto sleep and then wake up with around 20% of battery all the time. Now if I goto sleep with 50% battery it's dead when I wake up. Seems to be "Wlan" and "Phone Idle" using most of the battery as you can see in the screenshot below. Also, after the phone dies and I plug it back in, it always shows as 13-15% battery life right away (odd), so I used a battery calibration app that seemed to do nothing and still same bad battery.
I'm thinking it may be due to me missing the OTA update right before the Marshmallow OTA update. I know it had to do with the radio, could that be it? Does anyone have that in a zip file I could flash via TWRP? If so, would it be ok to do that?
Any ideas would be appreciated, here's a screenshot of battery usage:

After doing the update to Marshmallow in this thread, I flashed TWRP and rooted via this thread.

Battery life is great on mine, I installed xposed and amplify to block some wakelocks, but even before that, I had a very decent battery life, I read somewhere that you need to let your phone to completeley discharge, not even having enough juice to try to boot when the power button is pressed.
Once is completely dead, charge your phone (keeping the phone off) until it is fully charged.

You could probably try just doing steps 3 through 5. I'm no expert but I think it might work.

The OP is for rooting Marshmallow so I would imagine it would be fine with 6.0.1 as that's still Marshmallow. You would only be flashing recovery (TWRP) if you don't have it already and then using that to flash SuperSU. Nothing very dangerous. Give it a try and let us know.
I think this is for lollypop and have an upgrade to marshmallow. It is not for root 6.0 directly. I would not want to use this .. kingoroot .. kingroot .. 360 .. none worked for me. I only have this method and never did a flash, recovery or a twrp

Nope, read the OP. It's clearly flashing TWRP and SuperSU "AFTER" doing an OTA update to Marshmallow. I have personally done this to my Blu Vivo 5 running the initial Marshmallow update and it works fine.

You will not need to do step 1 or step 2 since you already have Marshmallow.

[Guide]Huawei Ascend XT - How to update from any version up to B180 after rooting

I'll try and keep this short and to the point. If you unlocked your bootloader and flashed TWRP and SuperSU, theirs a Good chance your phone will not return to stock and take OTA updates. Many of us have tried but for some reason the updates just fail.
Well we are lucky and someone captured and posted the 3 known updates and I'm going to show you how to flash them
New ~ All in One ~ update Instructions in Post 2
We now have a new way to do this, So the information below is just for information sake So bare with me while I get the Guide updated...
Other Files you may need
H1611.TWRP.New.img <<- This is the New Twrp by yuweng I Highly recommend everyone use this Version
minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.4.1_setup.exe
Huawei_Android_phone_drivers(1).rar
I have been working on this for some time and I now have an ALL in One Flash solution
This will allow you to flash a Single Rom to Update or Downgrade your firmware and Rom
As with any firmware update or downgrade I'm not responsible to what happens to your phone you do this at your own risk
(rest assured I have tested all these files and my phone is fine)
The Flash instructions are the same as any rom flash on this phone
Step one is to Boot to the bootloader and boot H1611.TWRP.New.img
fastboot boot H1611.TWRP.New.img
Swipe to allow modifications to System
then choose Mount and check system and cust
Select Storage Micro SDcard
Next is install and choose your Bxxx_Full_Update.zip
Swipe to flash
Reboot
That's really all their is too it, Just choose the File below that you want to update or downgrade too
Note: The phone always loads the AT&T logo and reboots the first time and then loads normally
First boot will take you to the setup screen if you formatted data
Another thing i noticed while test flashing these files is that the Data partition becomes Encrypted after the flash
This means before you can restore a data backup or flash a Rom like CleanRom (it includes data) you'll need to Format Data to UN-encrypt it
Also some roms may need to have SuperSU flashed after the Rom or the phone may not boot the first time after the upgrade.
AS Always make a complete backup of your phone before you start any flashing
Downloads
~New~ B180_Full_Update.zip
Note about B180 - If you have no wifi or the phone won't boot simply extract the boot.img from the rom and flash it with TWRP (Install Image) or fastboot (fastboot flash boot boot.img) also the AT&T Logo is missing for now but everything else works
Thanks To @madvane20 Download >> B170 Stock Full Update with Firmware
B160_Full_Update.v2.zip
B150_Full_Update.zip
I had to make B140 into 2 flashes but it works the same just copy both files to your phone and Flash A then B
B140_Full_Update.A.zip
B140_Full_Update.B.zip
B130_Full_Update.zip

Huge thanks to @madvane20 for helping with the partition layouts and testing and to @worstenbrood for the Huawei Update Extractor tool
Where do I start if I have B140 rooted on my XT? Maybe some numbers or section titles would help answer that. Thanks .

You start at the 2nd half of the updated guide B140 to B150
the process is the same no matter what version your on
So I should start with B130 stock files even though I'm in B140 rooted right now?

... no you would start at returning your phone to Stock B140 and continue from their
flashing the B150 firmware then the B150 stock system and /cust
We have the B150 files and the guide is updated
If I can get back to B140 stock and take the B150 OTA, which files do you need?

is that a trick question ? if you could get back to stock and take the OTA this post wouldn't be necessary now would it ?
The whole point of the thread is that no one who rooted has been able to return to stock and take an OTA
Why bother updating? Isn't someone working in Lineage for this phone?

Yes, someone is working on it but it is best to have your ROM up to date. You may not see a need for it but a lot of others see a need.

Yes, I have them, am working on zipping some of the larger files, then will upload to drive or dropbox, since I don't have developer access to afh yet.
Only think I forgot to do was get the post-root backup in TWRP. If you need that, I've already asked my cousin to perform the backup, I'll ask her to zip and upload them to me.

Thanks ... I'll post the files to my AFH account if you can share them through google or dropbox ..etc
If you request developer access, it doesn't take that long to get it ........ a few hour maybe if I recall correctly .

All the files are uploaded for your B140 to B150 update...
I'll be updating the guide soon.
The steps in a nutshell are
flash your stock B140 system/boot/recovery and stock b140 /cust
force flash the dload/update.app for b150 with the dialer code
boot TWRP restore stock B150 system and dd the B150 /cust
Flash SuperSU and Factory Reset (< optional)
reboot system and it boots to a clean B150

Guide is updated !
Has anyone been able to follow the OP to get up to B150 from either B140 or B130? Or even B130 to B140? Thanks!

Be careful upgrading from B130 to B140. Went from stock non-rooted B130 to B140 using the SD card update method and hidden menu. While it went through the update process without reporting an error but after auto reboot it still showed the same version but lost WIFI functionality, mac address showed mostly 00s and can't restore full backup from TWRP without errors on /data, etc.
Anyone know if there are .img equivalent of 2017-01-26-H1611.B130.stock.complete to attempt restore from either fastboot flash or dd?

No OS on Lenovo P2a42

I was trying to root my Lenovo P2a42 with TWRP and SuperSU V2.76 but then something went wrong and it wouldn't boot up. I then did an advanced wipe and wiped everything using TWRP and now I have no OS, although I can go into TWRP and the Bootloader. Whenether I try to boot up I get the Bootloader. Now I just want to get it back to normal, I have no backups (Cuz I'm dumb). Please help, thanks in advance.

Yeah I fixed it a few weeks back. I did an advanced reset again then got a stock ROM zip transferred from my pc to my lenovo then flashed it with TWRP. Worked just fine although OTAs no longer work (Too happy to care).
Now, I still want to root my device... If you find a way that works could ya let me know? Thanks.
