Hey Guys,
in this Tutorial I will show you how to activate the Adoptable Storage function on the M4 Aqua with the help of the Xposed Framework.
Attention: Me or not anyone else is responsible if you proceed with this. We do not take any responsibility for any bricked phones, dead sd cards, void warranties or anything else.
At first let's talk about what we need:
- Android 6.0.1 (I used the Customized FR version. (Build R5C))
- Xposed Framework Installer: Download
- Xposed SDK23 ZIP File (I used v86): Download
- (Minimal) ADB: Download
- Unlocked Bootloader, ROOT and TWRP
So let's go:
1. Unlock your Bootloader and install TWRP like described here. (It may works also like described here without unlock your Bootloader but I didn`t test this.)
2. Install Root like described here.
3. Install the Xposed Framework Installer.
4. Boot into your TWRP. (Press PowerButton + Vol- Button to start your Phone into TWRP)
5. Connect your Phone with USB on your PC. (Make sure you've got all Drivers installed. You will find them in the Flashtool install location.)
6. Move the Downloaded Xposed ZIP to the install location of your (Minimal) ADB
7. Open an Shell were you've installed your (Minimal) ADB
8. Type the following:
Code:
adb devices
If your Phone is now listed you can continue
Code:
adb shell
Now you should see a command line like this: ~#
Then Type:
Code:
mount -w /dev/block/platform/soc.0/7824900.sdhci/by-name/system /system
mount -w /dev/block/platform/soc.0/7824900.sdhci/by-name/userdata /data
mount -w /dev/block/platform/soc.0/7824900.sdhci/by-name/cache /cache
If you become an response that your Resource is busy don't wory. This means it's already mounted.
Now type this:
Code:
twrp sideload
adb sideload xposed-v*-sdk23-arm64.zip
For the * use the version number of your Downloaded Xposed ZIP.
If this is complete type:
Code:
adb reboot
Now it may takes up to 10-20 Minutes until your Phone is booted the first time with Xposed.
After Boot open your Xposed Installer App and go to "Framework". It should look like this, if it is successfully installed:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
9. Download the SystemUI Patcher for Lollipop+
10. Acitvate it in Xposed App (don't wonder if in the screenshot is another Module... you don't need this):
Open the Xposed Installer App --> Go to "Modules" --> Tick the Checkbox
11. Open the SystemUI Patcher App, scroll down, select "Enable adoptable storage" and restart your phone:
11. Insert your SD-Card and select "use it as internal storage". (I can't make a Screenshot of this by myself because I've done this before making this Tutorial):
12. Congratulations you've got successfully enabled adoptable storage on your M4 Aqua.
I tested it with the E2303. But it should work with any Version.
Special thanks to @depressed_ for the tipp with the SystemUI Patcher in this post.
And to @alby_var for the Tutorial how to install Xposed on Android 5, because I used this for orientation.
Known Issues: (Everything I or anybody else found)
- Stock Camera App didn't work for me after doing this! .-. It says "Memory unavailable" (I use now the App CameraMX ... This works fine!)
- On your storage settings will be shown some wired Numbers. (See Screenshot(s))
What about some screen(s)? Does it work 100% without any mini errors? People were complaining about their storage. It showed them weird numbers.
Btw thx for mentioning me.
Is this the original android feature being enabled? I think this should work without many problems if it is from android...
Pls make some screen.. Thanks

I think so. Just go in your Settings --> Storage --> Internal Storage --> Migrate Data --> After this go to your SD-Card --> "Format as Portable"
For the other things:
Disable the Module in the Xposed Installer App and Uninstall the Xposed Framework.
For root and TWRP I use to flash the Original FTF File. (May there is another way... I don't know)
If there's an way to (re)lock the Bootloader, you can do this too. I heard somewhere that there is an way to do this but I don't know how. Sorry.

Look at the "Known Issues" in first Post.
Camera and installing apps don't work... Is it because of my slow SD Card or is it the common issue?

Huh, judging from the new pictures, it seems that it is similar to the adb function... not the real adoptable storage tool.

Well, since my E2306 pdated and at first boot running android 6 recognized my SD and enabled it by itself, I guess yes, this might be a stock rom's hidden (in your device) function.
whatsapp cant download image after activate adoptable storage
After using partition in sd card like this link

All work fine

Hi Bharat
OTA have no issues so far.
See my screens below running Latest of Oxygen OS
Will be certain if any more updates are out. As of now, no issues.
All modules which are for lollipop are working absolutely fine. No issues if you go through the description of each module before installing. However device specific modules which are developed for Xperia.. Samsung.. HTC.. Etc.. Can't work.
Hope this helps.
No SU for Xposed Installer
I installed the framework on my rooted OPT as per your instructions (great guide btw) but the xposed installer doesn't get SU permissions. I set it up with the same options checked as in my OPO with CM 12.1.1 . Any ideas why ?
Thanks for your time.

That didn't work, that's why I posted the question.
With only Greenfy and Bootmanager modules installed, I rebooted a dozen times but it didn't get SU permissions.
The problem was solved later on when I installed the "true silent mode" module (it doesn't work in case you want to know), wich I guess needed the permission.
Anyway, problem solved, now it has SU permissions. Thank for the help anyway.

Hi there..
Its because of improper rooting.
I Suggest you to re-start the rooting process from the guide above.
After OEM Unlock and recovery flashing.. DO NOT REBOOT
Then Reboot to recovery and then Don't forget to slide (RECOVERY IMAGE STABILIZING)
Then after rebooting to system..
Reset your Phone (Prefer to take a NANDROID after this)
Then Flash SU and check with Rootaccess Checker
If everything Goes well
Then Flash the Xposed Framework given above an then Install and REBOOT before opening.
Then when you open the Xposed application, then SU should popup for permission..
Hope this helps...

No, I just got it, and I'm trying to figure out Oxygen OS lack of funcions compared with Cyanogen wich is what sold me on the OPO.
Maybe in the next few days I will.
Just my 2 cents:
Download xposed-uninstaller-20150831-arm64.zip and keep it on your internal sd card!
In case of a bootloop caused of a trouble making Xposed mod you just flash the uninstaller to get rid of the bootloop.
Then uninstall or deactivate the mod in Xposed Installer app and reinstall Xposed again.
So when i checked the official thread for xposed it showed a newer file version than what is mentioned here. However in that v74 there are 2 versions again
xposed-v74-sdk21-arm64.zip -
xposed-v74-sdk22-arm64.zip -
not sure which one to use with my Oxygen OS 2.1
Anyone has any information on the above.
Edit : Never mind mound it.

so which did you use? the 22?
I used v74sdk22
Sdk 22 is the right one.
Sdk 21 was for Android 5.0
Oxygen OS 2 is based on Android 5.1

You could try to update to a newer Java version. As I see in the image you use Java 6. Maybe it depands on that.

I've update my Java to version 8 but somehow it's still 6 in the sofware. I have to fully uninstall all version of Java on my computer and reinstall the 7 version and now it works.
Thanks !
problem Solved
Copy the files-.apk to their folder using your filemanager app
and /system/priv-app/CameraCommon/CameraCommon.apk
You must have system-partition with read/write/delete access.
Dont forget do change file privilege chmod with the Root explorer touch-interface to permission-mode "644"

Okay, so you have two files, the .apk file for the Xposed Installer app and the .zip, which you need to flash for it to work.
It is now super easy to flash it using TWRP, which is a custom recovery now available for C4/5 thanks to @bigrammy (I'm very thankful for the hard work and detailed instructions!):
forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-c5-ultra/development/bootloader-unlocked-custom-recovery-t3285521
Read everything carefully. I was able to get TWRP and SuperSU then easily flashed the Xposed Framework .zip via TWRP.
According to the second post in the thread I linked to above, it's confirmed to be working on Firmware Version 5.0.2 and 5.1.1 for the C5 Single, Dual, and World Wide for all Variants with Boot Loader 0.5, so the method may work for your phone.

I'm sorry if this is an OT post, but I can't seem to find a dedicated place for the C4, and the C4 and C5 seem so close in terms of specs (other than the screen size, for example) that they're often used interchangeably in this forum, so I wanted to post about my own experience with the Xperia C4 (E5303). I want to confirm that I was also able to get the Xposed Framework working, gave it root privileges via SuperSU, and even installed a module. It seems to be working fine so far.
However, I also ran into the problem of the camera and album FC. Since none of the files linked to here are for my device and I'm afraid that using them might have an adverse affect because they're only compatible with the C5 Ultra, I'm going to try the Deodexer and report back here to let you know what happens.

Could you please provide more details about this error? What were you doing?
I think I got a similar error when using LBD2.5, but I know why. I tried to deodex my system folder, and it failed to deodex the CameraCommon app because I didn't delete the "arm" folder in CameraCommon. I delete it then received the error you mentioned above probably because everything but CameraCommon had already been deodexed. What I did to resolve it was copying the respective files from my device to my pc once more then trying again, and it was successful, so it's worth a try.
Okay, I can't seem to figure this out... I was able to download LBD2.5, and it worked fine when deodexing CameraCommon.apk with no errors after I followed all the instructions in the first post (only leaving arm64 in the CameraCommon directory), but after a reboot it still didn't work. My album seems to be working fine now, though, and I'm not sure why that is.
I tried leaving just arm in the directory and then tried neither arm64 nor arm, but they both failed to even doedex completely. Nothing seems to be working for me. I'm able to do everything in the first post, but the camera never works.
I even downloaded the file attached, although it's not for my Xperia C4 (E5303), and that didn't work either. I'm going to try a free camera app for the time being until I can figure this out. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

I had the same problem with my C5 Ultra Dual E5563. I've tried both downloaded deodexed file on xda and deodexed the file myself but none of them work, of course I've set chmod 644 for the file.
I did it like that: gave root permission to es file manager, deleted cameracommon.apk under system priv app. then reboot and again placed the deodexed apk to priv app and changed name to cameracommon. then gave the permissions 0644 and again did a reboot then it got fixed. hopefully it helps you

Hello all!
Simple: This module allows your favorite app to save files (write) to your external SD card in Marshmallow.
Download:
Download from Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.balamurugan.marshmallowsdfix
Note: The app works as such for Nougat too. Let me know if you face any issue.
If you have issues, try this fix:
Mikee19 said:
I've been wanting to put this here for months since i first tired this mod out, i was on marshmallow at the time on a Chinese makeof phone, and was trying hard to get it to work! I simply couldn't, no matter what i tried at that time !
However since i was using the systemless xposed with magisk i thought of trying a magisk module to set selinux as permissive rather than enforcing before xposed itself is loaded up, and then this module worked a treat! Trying to set selinux as permissive via an app after booting wasn't successful in this regard !
Now I'm on nougat with the LG v20 and tested this module out again after setting selinux as permissive with that magisk module and it again worked! I honestly believe that that is the simple fix for a lot of people who complained about various issues with this module. Here is the magisk module:

Steps:
Download and install module.
Enable in Xposed Installer.
Choose your apps which require write access.
Reboot!
App updates will not disturb this configuration, unless the developer changes the package name (rarely happens. If so, follow the 4 steps again).

Looks like some users are misinterpreted this module.
This module only gives external SD card full excess. For Example Titanium Backup.
Titanium Backup not asking for Sdcard excess, instead they used Document Provider Storage Option. Whichi is very slow specially when u have more than 4 gb backup files.
But using this module we can select native file system storage of Titanium backup. Which make backup & restore very quick.
For those apps which doent have external storage, should try two xposed module. XinternalSD and Marshmallow SD Fix.
Like Whatsapp, Tubemate, ADM, Viper4Android etc.

Tried it in my SGS5 CM 13 nighlty 20160614 version. Followed your guide but it doesn't work. The xposed module says that your module has an update 1.0 - 1.0. Tried to reinstall but still doesn't work.
I just installed the version from this thread and it works pretty good on my galaxy Tab S2. I tested it with "All that recorder" and I am able to record on the external sdcard again. Thanks very much!

Works perfectly on RR, I only notived two little UI issues: The apps in the list are completely random, please sort them alphabetically and the list reloads when you tick an app.
Just tried this on xperia z3 on M/M was able to finally get Dolphin Browser to change location on ext SD card(has limited ext SD card write permissions only able to save in ext SD card/Dolphin/data/files......but with module I am able to change the location to ext SD card/downloads.
Tried several with no luck but this works thanks to the Dev @balamu96m

everything is good till now sony xperia z2 mm but i have a suggestions if you can make it it will be great,
1 -sorting apps because its sorted randomly.
2 -ability to choose all apps with one click.
3 -ability to search an app it will be much easier.
thank you for this module :good:.
It's possible to automatic add an app? I don't want to choose every app I install... Need a sort of automatic add every app installed.
Very good work!

Hello all!
Simple: This module allows your favorite app to save files (write) to your external SD card in Marshmallow.
Download: See attachments.
Steps:
Download and install module.
Enable in Xposed Installer.
Choose your apps which require write access.
Reboot!
App updates will not disturb this configuration, unless the developer changes the package name (rarely happens. If so, follow the 4 steps again).
Screens:
Example - Titanium Backup can now backup to my external SD card.
Tested on CM13. Should work on all Marshmallow devices.
Try it out and let me know if there's any bug.
This app is ad-supported. Bear with me (only bottom banner - no overlay/full screen ****).

Thank you very much for your excellent work It works great on my Huawei p8, Marshmallow. Apps, they could not choose folder I like for saving files before, but now they can like in Jelly Bean. I am very happy about that. Thank you.
The small thing is just, the xposed installer don't recognize, that I have already installed the Update. But this is no problem.
I choose the Apps, I like to give full permissions to the ext SD, after in the right corner of your App above, I said reboot. SuperSU asked me for root permissions, giving and after the reboot, everything works
Trying to use this app to allow Snap Camera HDR to save to external SD without having to use Storage Access Framework but it only seems to see the Snap Gallery App and not the Snap Camera app.
I tried it but has no effect I don't know where is the problem
HTC desire 820
Android mm
Works like charm on S7 Edge. Please add function one tap enable for all apps. Thanks
Can this fix work with xinternal xposed module?

yes, just tried changing location but it wont let met choose the ext sd card. Im using CM13 too btw. You can only change the location if you download something.
EDIT : Tried also ADM(Advanced Download Manager) and cant change to ext sdcard also.. I tried also uninstalling, reinstalling the file that its in here, enable it on xposed, reboot, enable some apps then reboot again, still no succes
EDIT 2 : Many people are saying that it work on UC Browser, but mine didnt. Its says Previous Folder cannot be used due to Android Policy.
So is this means that the Fix isn't really working? But why? I'm using CM13, Blissrom btw. It should be working. I follow the steps correctly, other module is working fine except the sdcard fix
It's working in Phoenix rom Galaxy s5 thanks

- = Treble Zoom = -
This custom ROM based on Havoc-OS 3.5.
Prerequisites - bootloader must be unlocked, clean Stock firmware and TWRP must be installed.
What's done:
- integrated GAPPS (Play Market, Chrome, Google Dialer, Messages, Contacts, etc.), but nothing extra. YouTube has been removed because I use YouTube Vanced);
- installed Nova Launcher (I recommend using it as the main one), RootExplorer, Asus File Manager (for simple tasks), Asus Gallery, AdAway ads blocker, Motor Command Center 2;
- integrated Moto camera from the latest firmware draining. Fully working with the work of all camera modules! In addition the best, in my opinion, for this ROM and our phone Google Camera mod;
- working Adaptive Brightness;
- cleaned up and made the system a little bit easier.
Installation Instruction
1. Download the Project Treble system image archive. Unpack the archive and copy the ROM image to an external SDCard.
2. Copy to external SD Card Magisk Installer https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk (latest version for today Magisk v20.4), Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/universal-dm-verity-forceencrypt-t3817389 (latest version for today Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_03.04.2020 https://zackptg5.com/downloads/Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_03.04.2020.zip ) and Permissiver_v4 (see attachments)
3. Reboot in TWRP and go to the "Wipe" tab, "Advanced Wipe" and select Dalvik, System, Data, and then go back two steps back and do a "Swipe Factory reset".
4. Install the Treble Zoom system image. In the "Install" tab in the lower right corner click "Install image" and select ROM Image. A window will open in which you should select partition "System Image" in which the image where to be installed. Swipe for confirm flash.
5. When the installation is complete, go to "Wipe" and perform a "Format Data".
6. Install the Magisk.zip, Disable_Dm-V_ForceEncrypt.zip and Permissiver_v4.zip. Reboot into the system and make the settings, use the Project Treble working system.
The first launch will be a bit long, don't worry and be happy!
Noticed problems on Treble Zoom - Does not pass SafetyNet check (ctsProfile: false; basicIntegrity: true). On Google Play, your device is not certified, but applications are installed and updated. Wired headphones are plugged in. When connected, the Bluetooth headset in the Dialer application works, but when listening to audio, video, YouTube is not.
Fingerprint Unlocking by fingerprint is implemented for scanners on the back of the phone. This problem can be corrected in the following way:
Connect the device to your PC and enter the following commands
Code:
adb shell
su
setprop persist.sys.fp.fod.location.X_Y 450,1760
setprop persist.sys.fp.fod.size.width_height 194,194
reboot
A green circle will appear in the display of your device, which is responsible for your fingerprint.
Niiiiice!!! I will try it ?
It Is Android 10?? You have some screenshot??
Does the fingerprint under the display work with this ROM?

Moto Zoom has a fingerprint under the display, which means that this reader will be inoperative and the phone can only be unlocked with a gesture or pin. It is a great pity. I will not install this ROM. But still great work

The choice is yours. No one is forcing anyone. It's just that up until now it hasn't been possible to get a working system on Android 10.
After the flashes I get this:
Failed to mount '/system's (Invalid argument)
After I unpack the image zip, I rename to .img, maybe that's why, help me please...

To load into slot A, execute the command:
fastboot --set-active=a
Does it still has the moto shortcuts? Like alsways on display and the flashlight gesture?
There is a 3.8 version in the Havoc-os 3.5 link, can I flash it on One Zoom?...

Hi, I wrote a similar thread some time ago in the section for OnePlus 7 Pro, but the Dolby Atmos app that ran on OxygenOS 10 doesn't work on OOS 11, therefore I'm creating a new, separate thread.
Here is guide how to install it:
Step 1: Download "Minimal ADB and Fastboot" to your computer, then enable USB debugging on your phone, then connect the phone to the computer and run the file "cmd-here", which you will find in the folder with ADB and Fastboot.
Step 2: Now you need to debloat the Dolby Atmos system controller, to do this, you must enter the following commands in the fastboot console: (don't forget to allow USB debugging on your phone! After connecting the phone to the computer, the phone will ask you if you allow it)
Code:
adb shell
pm uninstall --user 0 com.oneplus.sound.tuner
If all went well, then you should see the message "Success" in the console, now you need to restart the phone, when it reboots, you will not find the "Dolby Atmos" in the phone's settings and thats okay.
If you don't do it then the Dolby settings will reset once in a while, e.g. after a system reboot, that's why you had to do step 1 and 2 first before downloading the application.
Step 3: Install Dolby Atmos app!
You can also restore Dolby system settings at any time using this command in adb shell, but I don't recommend doing it if you want to use another Dolby control app:
Code:
cmd package install-existing com.oneplus.sound.tuner
Mirror link: Google Drive
Full credits for that app goes to @reiryuki {Mod edit}
this doesn't work for me. Once I install the app. I can't open it. It just crashes when i click on it.
HI.
Same here. I did exactly what you mentioned and did not work at all.
Restore the Dolby system app via adb and try again please, without removing it.
Hi
Tried both options but no joy for me.... running OOS 11 b.3

Okay, if you tried this method and it doesn't work - I need the logcat from trying to turn on the application.
