[FIXED] SDCard share the same disk with OS - Honor 5X Questions & Answers

I'm on Cm13 , flashed the ROM - SU- GApps placing files on SD Card, after installing all the apps from my backup i'm unable to move the apps to SD card all gets dumped in Internal storage.
Code:
"2nd partition is not found , recreate Mount Scipt and reboot and proceed"
a pop up occurs when tried to move apps using App2SD apk. Should i Format and proceed or should i create a partition on SD card using my recovery ?

Yes, you have to back up all your datas from your SD Card to your storage device like PC or using OTG USB
> Remove and format you SD Card using your PC or Format on Phone.
> Insert/Mount your SD Card into your device where there will be a notification - New Storage has mounted hit on settings from notify.
> It will ask for use SD card as internal memory and proceed. (As MM and higher version allow only to write data on SD Card)
> Format and proceed.
> Reboot your device once.
> Grant Root Access from developer potion from Phon settings.
> Use any SD Card moving apps like Titanium Backup/App2SD or any thing from PS.
> Hola, its done.

How to create an sd-ext partition?

I am trying to create an sd-ext partiton so I can move applications and backup to that partition on my 4GB external SD card.
I've got ROM Manager 4.8.0.8 but when I select Partiton SD card it reboots and tries to reformat but I don't see anything on the Card just a LOST.DIR folder. I can't read the system messages when in Recovery mode cos it all happens so fast.
I tried via ADB and booted into recovery and selected the option to partition manually but still nothing. I reformatted the card with FAT32. Nothing.
Am I doing something wrong?
Just throwing something out there. Try rebooting into Clockwork Recovery. In CWR, go to Advanced -> Partition SD Card -> Select the size. If it doesn't work, it shouldn't reboot your device (If I remember correctly). Take a look at the log (Advanced -> Show log).
Hopefully this helps a bit.
Hmmm he's right, you have to flash cwm first.
If your device is not listed in rom manager, find cwm for your device on xda and connect your device to the pc in fastboot mode, extract the zip and copy recovery.zip to the folder where fastboot on your pc is and give the command:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
after flashing cwm,do as suggested
Also, you can partition it by downloading Easeus partition manager on your pc and choose the ext2 partition as the second one and a size of 512 mb is enough in most cases
go into CWM and select advanced thn move onto partition SD card
it would ask u how much space to partition after that select swap size as 642 or above and wait for few minutes.... remember tot ake a backup of ur SD card as all the data would be cleared while partitioning
Thanks. The first problem was that the latest version of ClockworkMod Recovery 4.2 doesn't see my external SD card. No idea why. I used the 3.2 version which does see the external card and formatted the card first (after backing up!!). Then Advanced Partition SD card but I get a message saying : "Too many people have bricked their devices by doing this. Therefore this feature has been disabled."
I tried another Recovery Manager - Rogue Recovery and that showed messages saying it was formatting. I rebooted but when I looked at the SD card - nothing. However, I downloaded Easeus partition manager (looks good) and it showed that there is an sd-ext with a lost+found folder in it.
Is that normal? If yes then why didn't someone say that it would be invisible?!! If not, what happened?
Seems there are problems with the SD card. When I try to point TitaniumBackup to my SD card it sees the folders as Read Only. http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=18559 and http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=18501. It was obviously a bit silly to call internal storage the same name as an external SD card. HD as in hard drive (I know its not) would be better. Or just Storage or whatever. NO doubt people have been accidentally formatting their internal memory instead of the card and that's why it was disabled in Clockwork Recovery. And by the way I'm using the hacked Android 4 - so the problem is still there even in 4 (Ice Cream)
The easiest way to get sd card partitioned is using Mini Partition Tool on PC.
Dikirim dari WT19i gue pake xda premium
Now does cwm also do the ext partition? and if not what program would work well I have a 2gb sd card for my samsung admire and I want to make a ext partition so i can move some more files to it.And later get larger card up to 16gb and do the same.
Thanks,
Doug

[Q] SD Mounting Question

How can i set my sd card to default phone memory i.e how can use the sd card as phone memory is there any chance?
By saying default phone memory, I hope you're trying to say that you want applications to be installed to SD Card by default. Correct me if am wrong. In that case, you can follow the steps below.
1) Root your phone
2) Partition the SD card to create an ext partition
3) Use Link2SD application to link applications to the partition created above
4) Set Link2SD to install applications on SD by default.
thanks

[Q] 2 x internal / 1x external storage (partition)

Hallo,
For a moth or so my Note runs on a Custom JB ROM.
and today i wanted to install the new TomTom app.
i requires me to download a additional 3.1 GB
but i says that theirs not enough memory available.
that's strange, i just put in a brand new 16gb SD card.
so i checked the storage info.
Internal 1,9GB
internal(second??) 11GB
SD-card 15GB
on default in installs apps on the fist Internal memory,
so if transferred i to SD.
BUT in transferred it to the Second internal memory instead of the SD-card.
so i checked the form and found out that i can change a file to mount de SD as internal,
but than i have 11GB of lost space on my phone,

How this can be done? I would sacrifice only 1.8 GB.

You NEED to have root acces,
-install "Root Explorer"
-Open en go to Root/etc
-Open "vold.fstab" (with Text Editor)
you wil see
#internal SD card
dev mount sdcard0 /storage/sdcard0 11 /devices/platform/......
#extrenal Sdcard
dev mound sdcard1 /storage/sdcard1 auto /devices/.....
#internal: if you change the name from sdcard0 to sdcard1,
#extrenal: and on the sdcard1 to sdcard0
and reboot.
now it wil see the real extrenal SD card as a Internal, and its posible to install app on the card
I don't know anything about the 2nd internal storage you have but to directly install anything in the sdcard install link2sd from this link--
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5idWFrLkxpbmsyU0QiXQ..
then go to settings and change download location to external

Thas doen't work.
the problem is that the system and all of the apps sees the second internal memory (11GB) as sdcard0 and if i transfer a app it goes to this one and not the REAL extreme SD card (sdcard1)

[Q] Hypderdrive ROM on MI1 has "Renamed" SD Card

I've installed Hyperdrive via SafeStrap today. It seems that when you create that Rom Partition, the OS seems to have been configured so that "SD Card" is actually internal device storage and in order to actually get to the External SD Card I you have to go to Root -> Storage -> ExtSDCard directory.
Also, when I plug it in to the computer, all I can see is the External SD card and this new "fake" SD Card partition in the computer. I can't even get to the Root of the phone.
The problem is things like Pictures and some applications only allow you to choose "Device" or "SD Card" for storage and no matter what you choose it's going to the same place and this virtual SD Card Partition is almost out of space!
Help!
Any help?

That's the way the Stock ROM works - /mnt/sdcard is the internal storage, /mnt/extSdCard is the external storage.
You can't mount the root because it's a Linux EXT4 filesystem. Windows doesn't understand it. Again, that's normal behavior.
My pictures, music, Ti Backup files, etc. are stored on my external SD card, so it's quite possible to do that.
Fixes and Question
Wrong thread, could not delete. Sorry.

[Q] Is there any way to bring MOVE APP TO SD CARD option in app manager?

I wanted to know if there is anyway to move apps to SD card or to set install location to sd1...
My internal storage is more than 80% full (almost apps but no media files)..
Model: Z2 D6503
Android Version: 4.4.4 rooted
Download and install "Titanium Backup". Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup
Open the program and click on the options button of your phone and click on batch. You'll see a number of operations followed by a run button after each one. Scroll down and you'll see "move all user apps to SD card", click on run and you are done.
Remember:
Without partitioning the SD card, you will always have part of the apps on internal. With partitioning the SD card, you can move the entire apps to SD card.

After partitioning the SD card ,phone didn't recognize the sd card
Then I used https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sylkat.AParted&hl=en ,and it worked for partitioning..
But Titanium backup doesn't have "move all user apps to SD card" option so I used Link2SD and Link2SD recognized the ext2 partition but after moving apps to SD card ,it says your phone doesn't support move apps to SD because its primary external memory is emulated from the interal storage..
