Try rebooting system if this not helps than try removing account then re-login it.

Which method did you use for enabling the Play Store?
You should repeat your Remix OS installation and use this method. Don't forget restarting Remix OS after enabling the Play Store - then you should not get the error message you described.

The key issue here is that Jide did not provide the required reboot when it was needed. You need to reboot as soon as the Play Store enabler is done. To fix this, enable the root console in either jide settings or experimental settings, then hit Alt-F1, and in the colsole, type
Code:
wipe data && reboot
This will reboot RemixOS back to a fresh install, so from here, setup as normal, and remember to reboot as soon as the Play Store enabler is finished

This hasn't helped I'm afraid.
I've just a completely clean install and touched nothing other than using the activator followed by a reboot.
Before wiping, I also tried a factory reset and enabling via the console. The only thing I did following the clean boot was to enable the console.
Any other suggestions? I'm all out!

I never use the app. Instead go to settings/experimental features and enable debug terminal console. Then I use ALT&F1 to open debug command line and type :
pm disable com.jide.apppolicy
pm enable com.android.vending
pm enable com.google.android.syncadapters.contacts
pm enable com.google.android.gms
pm enable com.google.android.gsf
pm enable com.google.android.partnersetup
pm enable com.google.android.feedback
pm enable com.google.android.syncadapters.calendar
pm enable com.google.android.gsf.login
pm enable com.google.android.backuptransport
After type pm list packages -d
You should see only the one you disabled
Press ALT&F7 zto exit terminal
IMMEDIATELY REBOOT!

Thanks for the reply but I've also tried this approach with a clean marshmallow install too. Internet works fine so it's not that. All packages enabled (there were more than just those listed there). Not sure what else to try!

Hello,
same problem here solved by the instruction SERIAL=random in the grub line which start the kernel.

by deleting the line? i don't understand, why others don't face the problem?

Not deleting, just adding in the existing line. The pb. occurs because manual re-install and the serial file has disappeared in the Remix data partition.

Fwiw the new 3.0.104 supposedly solves the Play Store problem

Same problem at my installation

Same problem
I did a clean install on one laptop with Ubuntu with SERIAL=random and used the activator and it worked fine same thing on another laptop and for some reason the other one is not working ???

[Q] Can't sign into Google Account

Everytime I try to log into my Google account I receive that error message. I don't know where to go from here. I did a factory reset and still nothing. Please help.
Do a check of the following:
1. Are you connected to internet? (Seems dumb but try)
2. Do you have secured connection enabled into google settings? It'll keep looking for 'https' not http so if it cant find a secure connection it won't connect.
3. Do you have 2 step verification enabled? Generate an app specific password then.
4. Finally if it's a device problem then root your device. Uninstall gmail/g+/youtube (BEWARE: dont uninstall any services. Just uninstall the apps) then download them from the playstore n try signing in.

Q: Play Store not working on new tablet Teclast x80h

So, I purchased this tablet: Teclast x80h as advertised from manifacturer with dualboot Windows 8.1 and Android 4.4.4.
So far I can say Windows is working fine, haven't found a problem with it.
But When I booted the Android I face a common problem in the Google Play: No connection and the button retry.
I searched google and youtube and tried most of the things people wrote there.
1. checking the auto time/date update
2. the timezone
3. deleting all cache from the app
4. I rooted the device using: Kingroot and iRoot and tried to edit the hosts file. But in it there only was this line: 127.0.0.1 localhost - so I had nothing to change there. Tried to edit it anyway with total comander with granted root priv. - I receive "re-mount error".
5. I also tried to fix the issue with a fix from Frontier given here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...8-air-3g-tablet-9-7-2048x1536-t2913035/page43 , but sadly it didn't solve the issue for me.
Any other insight you can give me is welcome.
Thanks in advance to whoever comes to help.

I have the same problem and have tried all morning to fix it. I have managed to root and have tried following Frontiers instructions but just get the same problem at the end of it.
I also found it impossible to delete Play Store using settings as it is a system app, but managed it using an app called "system app remover". Then replaced it with the apk from Frontier but still no luck!

Have just found this, Maybe we have to wait for an update. But as they come in Chinese am not sure I will recognise it!!
http://bbs.teclast.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=262279&highlight=x80h+play+store
Applied fix:
with root browser:
Edit /system/build.prop to:
ro.product.device=picassowifi
ro.product.local.language=en
ro.product.locale.region=US
Now Google Play is crashing just before displaying the content ofthe store. Even got it working for few minutes after reinstalling Google Play app and Google Play Services, but after tying to download some app from it it started crashing again. I'm open for suggestions :>
I have those settings in as well, but Play store not working at all. I will try deleting them both and reinstalling

okay, guys, that's how I fixed it:
Fix for Google Playstore on Teclast x80h dualboot
requirements:
For Rooting the tablet:
iRoot
Kingroot
First you run Kingroot - all is in chinese, but it's pretty straight forward deal.
Then you run iRoot and finish the job.
Then you need the following apks:
superSU
root manager
uninstaller (root)
link2SD
google play latest
google play services latest
All this is available on APKmirror.
Copy them somewhere on the tablet (I used the Download folder)
step 1. Install superSU - to be able to grant root privileges to the other apps.
step 2. install root manager
step 3. open it and edit /system/build.prop to:
ro.product.device=picassowifi
ro.product.local.language=en
ro.product.locale.region=US
Then save the changes.
step 4. uninstall the Google Play app that came preinstalled with the tablet. (You can do it with any root uninstaller.)
step 5. install the Google Play apk
step 6. install the Google Play services apk and reboot
step 7. install Link2SD apk and run it. Find the google play app in the list press it and when it opens choose "action" and then make it a system app.
step 8. Reboot the tablet.
Enter the credentials in for your google account and then download any app you want :>
Hope that will help someone. Took me lots of time to figure it out.
Took info from several sources here on XDA and from youtube.
All credit goes to them.
I had done all of the above yesterday and still it didnt work. But today I got a Google Play Services update via Mobo Market and Play Store worked after that!
Got the same tablet and of course play store didn't work. Expected this would require extensive hacks, but apparently there is an update as soon as you connect to internet. Just click update app on the bottom left and then you'll see two buttons (all on Chinese), click the left one and it will download the update for you.

yea, when I received it, that update was downloading a broken zip file and it was giving error. That's why I had to do all that to fix it. Now I'm happy with the tablet.

Google Play services are actually on Remix Beta, enable them without any extra tools

Redditor SubredditReddit found that these Google apps are pre-installed on Remix OS:
Google Play Store - com.android.vending
Google Contacts Sync - com.google.android.syncadapters.contacts
Google Play services - com.google.android.gms
Google Services Framework - com.google.android.gsf
Google Partner Setup - com.google.android.partnersetup
Market Feedback Agent - com.google.android.feedback
Google Calendar Sync - com.google.android.syncadapters.calendar
Google Account Manager - com.google.android.gsf.login
Google Backup Transport - com.google.android.backuptransport
You can enable these, so you don't have to use something like GMSInstaller/GMSActivator, which could potentially be unsafe. If you did use one of these but want to use the stock apps instead, you will have to reinstall Remix OS.
This went unnoticed because there is an app called "JideAppPolicy" that disables them at startup. Apparently, this is the only thing it does. Also, apps disabled in a specific way do not appear in Settings.
Steps:
Enter the root terminal (Alt+F1) and run this:
Code:
pm disable com.jide.apppolicy
This will disable JideAppPolicy. Then, run this:
Code:
pm list packages -d
This will list all disabled applications. To enable the Google apps, use this command:
Code:
pm enable <package name>
(Use the package names from the second command.)
To return to the GUI, use Alt+F7.
If the Play Store doesn't work immediately, check your date/time settings, and force stop + clear data for:
Google Play Store
Google Play services
Google Services Framework
Then restart Remix OS. You should be able to download apps.
To stop automatic updates, turn them off in Settings > Update > Options. Or, if you want to be extra cautious, run this command:
Code:
pm disable com.jide.autoupdater

No experience with pre-installed Google Play, but after installing with GMSInstaller it was necessary to clear cache and data for Play and Play services. After clearing restart.

To access the root terminal does this require your installation is rooted. I ask because I am unable to test as I am on holidays and won't be able to check for another few days.

Did you enter the correct command? It should be:
"pm enable com.google.android.gms" without the quote. And then the same command for every app you want to enable. I've enabled all so now calendar and contacts work aswell ?

Hey. I'm SubredditReddit, the guy who originally posted about this over on /r/RemixOS (OP didn't link to my post ). Anyway, I looked into this: disabled JideAppPolicy before the first boot, and the apps were still disabled, so something else is disabling them on first boot. However, it is still necessary to disable or remove JideAppPolicy because it disables them every restart after the first boot, I have just confirmed.

Good to see a new release
But this forum on XDA, don't you think is messed up a lot? So many repeated questions and answers, polls etc, while the useful guides, tricks, and tools are just lost somewhere. It's very hard to find things in here.
In my opinion there should be a separate question and answer sub-forum, just like many development forums have. And all the announcement, releases, guides, tools, etc should be in a clean sub-forum. This one it'll be easy to know where to look for problem and where to look for solutions.
Thanks

I uploaded the 2.0.402 version of last week. The version cited here is different ?
Stupid question... I'm new to RemixOS (just installed it a week or so ago) - am I supposed to be able to upgrade to this via OTA upgrade? When I try, it just tells me that I'm onthe latest release (2.0.205).
Or are OTA updates not yet implemented?
Thank you!
EDIT: Also, any way to mount Samba filesystems on Remix? THat is one thing that I really need (have a FreeNAS server that I need direct access to, preferably via cifs)..

Hmm, I also found that with the new version, I can no longer see my "Windows disk" from within RemixOS (could see and access it fine with previous version). I'll have to look into that... If anyone has any tips, I'm all ears!

I also not see the update when I click on Updates. It makes no difference if I choose the stable or the development branch.
Or is it possible to do the upgrade manually? (e.g. extract image files from ISO and replace the existing files?) Which files do I have to replace then?
Thanks

can't get google play to work. Tried everything:
1. Downloaded GMSInstaller.apk
2. Installed APK file and run it.
3. Clicked on "One-click to install Google Services" (this will automatically download google play services)
4. cleared cache of all 3: play, framework and service
5. rebooted, google play didn't work
6. cleared cache again and repeated 5-6 for 2 times
7. tried clearing google play cache only, rebooted and tried to launch google play - still couldn't sign.
8. reinstalled remix os
9. went for the local copy by executing as root:
pm disable com.jide.apppolicy
pm enable com.android.vending
pm enable com.google.android.gms
pm enable com.google.android.gsf
pm enable com.google.android.gsf.login
repeated 4-6 steps afterward, still cannot sign in (and all caches are cleared numerous times).
How should I continue investigation further on?

I ended up updating by booting into Windows and just running the installation application over again - and told it to keep my data. That worked, but so far, I found .205 to work better overall - at least on my system (and old dual-core Pentium PC). Without access to my Windows "C" drive, it really limits the usefulness of RemixOS since I have tons of stuff on that drive.
I have not yet tried to add it manually though... I might try a fresh install of the latest release too...

Hm. I didn't installed it with the Windows installer but manually with the tutorial step 1 "Install Remix OS on HDD [Using Ubuntu]:".
Can I replace the existing files initrd.img, kernel, ramdisk.img and system.img? Will I then loose my apps and settings?

can't get google play to work. Tried everything:
1. Downloaded GMSInstaller.apk
2. Installed APK file and run it.
3. Clicked on "One-click to install Google Services" (this will automatically download google play services)
4. cleared cache of all 3: play, framework and service
5. rebooted, google play didn't work
6. cleared cache again and repeated 5-6 for 2 times
7. tried clearing google play cache only, rebooted and tried to launch google play - still couldn't sign.
8. reinstalled remix os
9. went for the local copy by executing as root:
pm disable com.jide.apppolicy
pm enable com.android.vending
pm enable com.google.android.gms
pm enable com.google.android.gsf
pm enable com.google.android.gsf.login
repeated 4-6 steps afterward, still cannot sign in (and all caches are cleared numerous times).
10. reinstalled remix os
11. used Remix Central to install google play
12. repeated 4-6 steps afterward, still cannot sign in (and all caches are cleared numerous times).
How should I continue investigation further on?
p.s. successfully installed remix os on asus eeepc 1000h, x86

Okey, doing it "live":
1. launching clean install (2016-07-11 10:26) and made a small break
2. select your language -> English (10:34)
3. user agreement (10:34)
4. wifi setup (10:35)
5. setup completed (10:35)
6. remix central (10:36)
7. reloaded remix central twice (wasn't connected yet 10:36)
8. there's no "google services installer", so clicking on "Google Play Installer" instead (yeah, same green "..." icon, 10:37, clicking on download sign, since clicking on app doesn't work)
9. opening downloads 10:39
10. clicking on downloaded GSM_activ...apk. Google services installer launched , clicking install 10:39
11. Open after installation and clicking "install google services" 10:40
12. downloading / installing; Got a warning: "Installation completed. Please reboot your system to use google services". Pressing "ok" and keeping the rest installer window open(10:41)
13. selected to restart 10:42
14. restarting, selecting remix os to boot up, remis os logo shows up 10:43
15. Remis os booted up, The PC is online. 10:44
16. launching google play store to check it out 10:44
17 loading... and boom! "There was a problem communicating with google servers". Try again later. 10:45
18. Clicking on "next" which closed the google play 10:45
Confirming - it DOES NOT work on Asus EeePC 1000H
Extra:
19. Clearing cache of all 3 services:
Google play store - force stop; clear data;
Google play services - force stop; manage space->clear all data->ok; and force stop again (weird);
Google services frame work - force stop; clear data; ok; force stop again (weird)
20. reboot; booting up remix os (10:54)
21. launching google play store to check it out 10:55
22. loading... and boom! "There was a problem communicating with google servers". Try again later. 10:55
23. Clicking on "next" which closed the google play 10:55
24 shutting down for the next options to be tried.
Confirming - it DOES NOT work on Asus EeePC 1000H again
i would suggest to use your old remix 205 if you had one with playstore working and just replace the files except your data folder/img, the files i mean initdr, kernel, ramdisk and system

Help needed in unlocking ACT Stream 4K TV Box

Recently i got a 4K Android Stream box for my network plan from my ISP - ACT Fibernet in india
I have disconnected the connection due to relocation and have no ACT in the new place
The issue is the Android Box only runs in the ACT network and doesnt work in other network
Is there a way to make the android box work in other networks?
Or flash a Android TV os and make it standalone ?
As the new box has good specs and supports Steam Link and other features
New to this android TV experience. Any help would do.. :fingers-crossed:
Tech Specs
Operating System : Android 9
Main Chipset : Hi Silicon 3798M V200
RAM : 2GB
Flash : 8GB
DRM : Widevine & Playready
WiFi : Dual band (2.4G & 5G) & 802.11 ac
Ports Available : 2 USB ports, 1 Ethernal port, 1 HDMI port, 1 AV output, 1 SD crad slot
Me too looking for the same info.
Hey me to..
when they have network issue.. this is useless.
need same info
I need the same info too.. is there a way to root or install custom rom like how you do traditional android tv boxes?
I have not found the way to unlock it, but there is a work around to use it without ACT network.
----------------------
Install below two apps by sideloading the apk files.
1. Sideload Launcher
2. Launch on Boot
Open Launch on boot and mark 'Sideload launcher' as the app to boot.
---------------------
if you press accidentally home button while NOT using ACT network,
you can then also use 'Google play store' button in the remote to select the app 'Launch on boot' and open 'sideload Launcher' app.
Thanks
SK
Thank you for the sideload launcher idea and it works as expected.
I wish we have an option to install a custom launcher on this as its the Act Launcher that is causing problem when its not connected to an Act Network.
I am looking for the same - unlock the Android TV from ACT

Were you able to use the ACT TV outside of ACT network? Please let me know. Thanks
Yes I am able to use it as per above launch on boot and sideload launcher method.
How were you able to access the settings or play store when on the non-ACT network page? My device will not let me access them other than the network selection.
I'm able to access play store and other apps right from the day I bought it. On the top banner you have different pages the 2nd one is apps. Select that and scroll down, then you can see play store and other apps you have installed. Only the TV section won't work if the device is not connected to act network.
Regarding Choosing "Launch On Boot" option
How do i select the "Launch On Boot" option, please help.
If you could provide the steps or screenshot, it would be really helpful.
Alternate launchers
All my attempts at installing alternate launcher fail with
Code:
$ adb install ~/Downloads/Taskbar-5.0.1.apk
adb: failed to install /home/reshma/Downloads/Taskbar-5.0.1.apk: Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_BAD_PACKAGE_NAME: Package couldn't be installed in /data/app/com.farmerbb.taskbar-NJD_XsOJWsvV-uhprRNnOw==: Package com.farmerbb.taskbar do not allow to install.]
Have you guys been able to find any way to install other launcher apps?
Works!
I managed to make it work with the two apps. I was looking through the Airtel internet TV forum and for that, you can enablee developer mode and use adb bridge to completely remove the associated apps to get a stock OS. However, when I try to click on build option 7 times (and more), it does not work on ACT TV. Has it been disabled on this? How can we enable developer options in this? If anyone can confirm with the same issue.

Try using developer tools app from playstore. They have disabled the 7 tap option now. Please let us know if you succeed.
Successfully worked!

Thanks for the idea. I installed the app from play store (it installs but it will not show up, you can use voice command to open or from settings). Then, it enables developer options following which I ran adblink to uninstall all apks which began with in.actcorp. One note is that the normal uninstall option in adblink will not enable you to delete all apps, it is required to use pm uninstall -k --user 0 [apk name] in the adb shell to get it done. Once done, the box works, however I'm not too sure on how to get the default android TV launcher to open up, pressing the home button on remote takes to a blank screen only. If someone can help, I'll be grateful!

Wow. This is great progress. Let me try these steps too. What I can tell you now is if you can install apks, try installing atv launcher or open play store using the voice assistant and install a launcher from there. I'll try this on my end too and see what can be done about the default launcher. Earlier, it never used to let us install any launcher apps. Sideload launcher was the only app we could install.

I was able to uninstall all the act apps. But something is blocking launcher apps from installing. Android tv home launcher is what we need to install but can't install it either from adb or from playstore. Do you have some command to force install or do you know where the blocked list is?

I faced the same issue, that's why it is hard to not reach the blank home page often. Hopefully someone has a way to install the launcher apps.

have you tried resetting your device after removing act core applications ?

Resetting restores all the apps you have uninstalled. Including the act launcher app. Another way that may work is to somehow rename the android home launcher apk to in.actcorp.actottlauncher.
And make it to install over the current app.
