Hi @RemixOS_Jason
'Gaming toolkit' app doesn't show up even when i enable key mapping from settings.
It only show up if i enable app from root terminal. (pm command doesn't work in termux too)
and if i want to disable it,it needs me to use terminal again. The switch at Settings doesn't work for me at all.
Who cares?
Your last 2 versions of remix was so bombed
My gtx 970 worked on previous versions before that
My wifi worked on previous versions before that
May June releases just needed vsync sorted on nvidia gpu's
Now it needs a whole new who knows what...........

Nice feature , it's already working good
Just a li'l time and i'm sure we'll have something for the swipe gestures too
Thnx for all the hard-work , Remix team
Needs a gesture mapping
Please update the OS so that it can map swipes to keyboard....I really need it for playing games.....and the experimental pinch works fine on internet browsers and messaging apps..but does not work on my games...
Question
Where to find "Gaming Toolkit" and how to use it ? Key mapping in my Remix OS is turned on, but i can not find "Gaming Toolkit".

If your'e using the latest version of remix os on pc, there should be on the desktop...maybe find it on application manager...but the gaming tool kit should popped out when your'e playing ur game
This feature doesn't seem to be baked into the version of Remix OS 3 for Pixel C.

Yes, i was trying to run games in the full screen mode, but it does not help - i do not see anywhere gaming toolkit - it is not popping up and keymapping is turned on in experimental tools. I have installed the latest version of Remix OS 32-b on my Toshiba Laptop. I was trying many games, but there is no gaming toolkit when i play:
Dragon Slayer
Blood & Gloory
Beast Quest
Frontline Commando WW2
Traffic Rider
Please consider upating ur gaming tolkit as it is not initiating while the game is being played.Additionally make a separate link or forum to submit to report the keymapping techniques.
Instead of mapping individual game please add emulator style keymapping controls so that different users could map the shortcuts ccording to their own needs.

Hey
I was wondering if it is possible to create a shortcut on my home menue that starts n64oid and then automatically lets say Ocarina of Time and lets me setup an custom icon for that shortcut? would be pretty cool to have one page with just n64 icons/games that start automatically the mulator+ rom =)
Is that possible? Would be very cool.
I've never used n64oid, but this is the case for GBCoid by the same dev, so I would assume it's similar. When I long press on my home screen, and select to add a shortcut, one of the options is "GB/GBC game" (obviously for you this would be "N64 game"). I can then select a ROM and enter a name, and it'll create a shortcut to that game. As for a custom icon, you'll need a launcher that supports changing the icons on shortcuts, by default it'll have the emulator icon (I think a lot of launchers can do that - one that definitely can is Launcher Pro).
seems not to work with n64oid.
edit: it works. Nice!
... It is impossible.
There was an PAID around 5$ app which could launch games for all launchers but if the emulator app doesnt support it then it wont work.

indeed it does.
i wonder if there is a another app for this. there are many emulator that does not support those shortcut features to load a rom from the homescreen.
does anybody know?
i want to use it with deskop virtualizer (with genisis, gbc,gba and n64 it works but only because they do have a shortcut feature)
it would be nice if mame4droid had this

The only app I found was "My Boy! - GBA Emulator" that allows ROMs to be used as shortcuts on home screen requiring the app to open to automatically to load it according to what the description says. How about looking for a file shortcut application. All you have to do is label and type the file URL to load it for it appear as a shortcut on the home screen of your phone.
If anyone still cares
I have found a way to conceivably do this with any ROM and any emulator.

You'd better try it out! It's easily customizable. There're many pie-activate positions in the latest release (1.910) (right and bottom, right and left, etc)
well im having trouble with this app when playing games like avengers initiative or minion rush. the game sumtimes take so much RAM it FC the pie control, n sumtimes i have to wait several minutes for the pie to restart. i tried making the pie a system app, or using local.prop to make the pie unkillable, but no luck. so i had to revert back to normal with buttons

I use LMT and play Minion Rush - too - and even Real Racing 3 without any problem. Maybe the key is that I have Ram Manager Pro configured the suitable memory policy for my specified demands.
Have a look on it (at Play store)! :good:

Thanks for the quick response!
Did you use UDN to hide the navbar too? I wonder if the "dangerous method" would work.. and if the build.prop tweak will be able to brick my device? Cause otherwise I could just re-flash my ROM and it'll be fixed I guess :silly:
The safe method requires "Xposed module", I'll research on that in the meanwhile
Thanks again!

I wanted to start a discussion about features and suggestions.
My initial suggestion is to add a scroll bar. When the mouse is used a scroll bar should be shown on the active window. Clicking and dragging is not intuitive when using a mouse.
How about 3g dongle modem support??
Having resolution under display settings would be Hella helpful. =) I realise this is alpha so i'm not complaining.

Well, dont worry. The devs will release something nice from their kitchen soon.
Just thought of one.
Similar to Windows and pressing F8 to enter safe mode, repair mode, etc, I would like to see a press F8 to enter into an android recovery where we could wipe partitions, flash zips, preform and restore backups, etc. The recovery could even be built from the TWRP base to support touch.

Remix OS 2.0.100 - 2016012301
1. Gamepad not fully supported / have bugs, some keys worked in system but doesnt work in games.
2. Need a screen brightness slider desperately, screen brightness is 100% by default, currently using some 3rd party app in Play Store as a workaround.
3. Storage size seems to be limited to 4gb due to FAT32 format and UEFI doesn't boot NTFS drive.
4. Memory cleanup gauge indicator not sync with real time usage (EDIT:Added screenshot)
5. Some fn keys do not work (screen brightness, keyboard backlit, touchpad switch)
6. Mouse right click should act as long press
7. Microsoft Excel / Word doesn't run due to processor compatibility
Nonetheless, this is really an amazing piece of OS despite of its alpha state. Im really looking forward to this OS

Asus G551 - Windows 10 64bit UEFI - Remix OS installed in HD

Recovery wont work. Its not possible. The way remix boots using x86 android kernel is different android bootloader works on phones. Thats why it wont ever work. Go read it on x86 android forums. It has been discussed heavily there. Since, remix os is based on that project, chances of recovery are slim.
However, you can activate a command line recovery using ALT+F1.

6) IMO the long press pop out menu replace by right click is right click done right. I'd love to see this replacing long press action in browser in the future.
7) I think I've found the problem, now the Excel and Word run fine. Might not be Nvidia GPU related.

OK, that makes more sense. A traditional recovery wouldn't work then but that still leaves the possibility for someone to build one from scratch. Maybe someday...
OK guys ive found some features that remix os must have but doesnt:
1-Share it : So ive tried using share it and what i saw made me wonder the screen went black and didnt fix until i restarted it after that i tried again and saw that it doesnt work at a ll and i cant transfer files between an android phone and remix Os.
2-bluetooth : well this one didnt work too as i said above it wont find my huawei g8 phone and no phones around.
3-Multiple Keyboard Language And Shifting between them : so guys you know that you can change your keyboards language just with pressing
ALT and SHIFT together but in remix os we can only type english and no way to change it.
4-Google services : so what you feel its empty space is google play services. you want to
know how it can help? so you wont be able to use google applications like google play games, gmail, google play, and so on.
As a compassionate User i ask the developer team to add these simple but very necessary features to Remix Os.
WISH YOU LUCK Ariel.
I just started using RemixOS for PC (love it so far!) and I don't have any issues with Google Services? You have to install them separately (instructions on Jide site), but they work fine...

I only need screen recording to work, and a brightness slider in notification center
Bluetooth works fine for me, though my desktop appears as a phone in the bluetooth devices list on my phone (Doogee X5 Pro, running vanilla AOSP 6.0).
It does take some time for the prompt to appear though, and you're limited in what file types you can recieve.
And I can type in other languages with my physical keyboard, however I have to change it from the settings window since it doesn't appear in the applet.

Screen recording I can't see them bothering with (a base update to MM would add it by default).
Brightness slider is already there; you just need to disable box mode (or create/pin a shortcut to the SystemUI/brightness activity).
Edit based on 402: Seems to be a reveral of the above - Screen recording is reported to have been added [haven't tested] and the brightness slider is missing/removed [ro.remixos.box=false]

Which GPU are you using? It still has few issues. google play services continuously crash on intel Gen8+ GPUs,which is not fixed yet. And porting to mesa 12.0 is currently going on. Once Android-86 is done with mesa porting and fixing issues,Jide can migrate to Marshmallow.

I'm using Lenovo ThinkPad Twist 3347 with Intel integrated graphics. Strangely it had Google Play Services crashes at the beginning but now no crashes at all. I installed new update of Google Play.
My version is 9.2.56 (480-124593566)
***UPDATE*** I was able to install Google Play Store. However, still need to know how to change the screen resolution to make icons / text bigger. Also, how do I enable touchscreen? Trying to play Pinball Arcade -- speed is awesome but can only use keyboard. Doesn't the Surface Book touchscreen work???
Hello,
Running Remix OS successfully on my Surface Book via USB. Several questions: How the heck do I change the screen resolution? Everything is soooooo small that I can barely see / read it. I changed the font to HUGE which made no difference. The screen resolution of the Surface Book must not be compatible to Remix OS. Also, I couldn't find the Google Play store, where is it hiding? Or, is there a way to install it?
Thanks for any help you can provide. I really want to use this, but it is useless on my Surface Book if the icons / text are so small it is unreadable. Also, need the Play Store, or what's the point.
Cheers

Where is the grub.cfg file? Can't find it on the USB drive (where I installed Remix OS) or on my hard drive. Also, is there some way to enable the touchscreen on the Surface Book? If the touchscreen doesn't work for an Android OS, then this is a complete fail. Thanks again.

Hi , In Settings/Experimental features you can find zoom like on windows 10 put it on 175% , it can help you
Touch Screen on SP4 not working too, maybe we should wait for fix from remix os developers
Good Luck
Jide knows about the touchscreen and looking into a solution.

There is no Zoom setting in Settings/Experimental features. Where are you finding this setting??

This is good news. Remix OS is quite useless if there is no touchscreen integration for the Surface Book. Also, there needs to be a setting to change screen resolution. All of the icons / mouse / text etc is soooooooooo small I can barely read anything. Thanks.

What version of Remix OS are you using? I don't have Zoom listed in my Experimental Features. See screenshots.

It's quite odd that you have different options in the Experimental Features than I do.
just go to Settings then Experimental Features, you see from the buttom "Set the Zoom Level" from there you can adjust what size of text and icons what you desire.
