I got an email from them. I've taken a screenshot.
I registered on the Samsung UK site. When you register, you get a message saying that they will email you on the 16th with a code that lets you pre-order, so pre-orders not even open yet.
Also, there is a message encouraging you to be one of the first 1,000 people to register, but no hint of why you should or what you get. The messaging around the UK/Ireland/EU pre-orders seems to be very poor so far.
I registered on the day they had the unveiling.
Just not sure about the edges as i hade the S7 Edge & the edges where very annoying, so I got shut of it.
Also what DAC it uses, the DAC in the S7E was pants.

Hence why I switched from the S7 Edge to the S7. From what I know the Note 7 edges are less agressive.
The DAC is the same. The issue is not the DAC , it's the weak headphone amp. From my tests, I think Samsung focused on provided better Bluetooth sound. I wish it sounded as good as the HTC 10.

Yes. If you pair it with efficient (high Sensitivty ) headphones it's ok but it's weak nonetheless.

Easy to drive headphones which as part of their specs have high sensitivty. The X10 tick the high sensitivty box, but not the ohms. At 50 ohms that is more than most newer in ear cans. If they were 16 ohms would be really good.

Being top of the range doesn't mean being the best with a smartphone.
50 ohms is high for a smartphone. 16-32 ohms is very common. There are far too many models to list.
But as an example, look at Sennheisers in ear headphones. http://en-uk.sennheiser.com/earphones-in-ear-headphones
Even the cheapest is 16ohms at 110db.
Their £279 model is 16 ohms at 125db.
That's why I got rid of your s7e, it was poor with music. The note 5 is way better.
So what if I use Bluetooth, does that make the dac quality irrelevant?

The front facing speakers on the Nexus 10 are so much better than a speaker on the back or two speakers on the bottom edge.
I wonder how long it will take for Apple to copy and patent it then take eveyone to court for stealing their ideas.
Heh, kind of just figured the speakers to be surround (sounding the same on both front and back) but yeah after some closer checking, they do seem front-facing It is pretty awesome indeed.
Only thing is, that the speakers mainly produce sound from the top corners of the tablet, and not the entire speaker grill. Would of been awesome if it was the entire grill, but I'd imagine the tablet wouldn't be as thin as it is now. In any case though the sound is still pretty awesome.
There was also talk of VoodooSound coming to Nexus 10 at some point too, which means even more awesome

I agree, the sound quality is very nice! Having stereo sound just makes for a richer experience. Pairing them with the screen I think should put this thing at the top when it comes to multimedia and gaming.
When you read some of the reviews from sites like the verge and Engadget, it makes you think twice about the value. But having this thing in my hands, it feels about as premium as it gets.

Have to agree. Galaxy Note and Tab 10.1 and Nexus 10 have the industry's best speakers for a tablet because they're front mounted stereo. I won't buy crappy backfacing mono speakers like on iPads.
To achieve their (imo, minor) improved "sleekness", Apple and Asus designed their Tabs for smaller bezels and no speaker grills on front at the cost of speaker performance. Microsoft surface is the same way. They probably believe that this aesthetic aspect gives the consumer a better experience.
Now you got those people calling the N10 "ugly" without thinking about benefits they would lose to make it were prettier. If these brands continue with this mentallity, I don't see them making front facing speakers for future models, which, I believe, is not a difficult achievement.
On the other hand, it is quite smart of Apple to have their speaker the way it is. They can subject their consumers to purchasing external speakers...more revenue potential. I'm sure you've seen tons of them. All my friends with Ipad have them and they don't see it as a problem.

Technically, the German market Tab 10.1N was the first with the front facing speakers. Re-designed to get around the Apple "community design" sales ban of the original Tab 10.1 in Germany. But internally it was still just a Tab 10.1.
Agreed. Very impressed.
The speakers are the main reason I bought one and I'm not disappointed one bit.

Yep, really enjoying them too. It makes so much sense on a tablet and the N10 and Note 10.1 shows great function along with form.
I do wish they were a bit louder though hehe.
Some people were saying that only sound comes from the top. I noticed in a bright light there are vents at the bottom too (but not the middle).
I covered the top vents to block the sound and you can hear it coming out the bottom ones.

There is definitely sound coming from both ends and blocking the vent does decrease the sound. Nice way they did the speakers.

The noise cancelling headphones don't come in the Z2 box, but some countries have deals where you will also get the NC headphones when you buy a Z2.
They are superb on both counts very impressed
The sound quality of the headset is okay.
Of course it's not high-end but definitely better than many other headsets available on the market you get for the same price.
And I was surprised of the great noise cancelling.

Im actually very impressed with these headphones....... ive never owned or even used noise cancelling headphones before, altho they are not the loudest headphones (thats not to say they are quiet mind, they have quite good volume) the noise cancellation more than makes up for it....... with a song playing at the lowest volume, i can barely hear the tumble dryer spinning away less than a foot behind my head
Very impressed with the headphones for a pair that were chucked in with the phone.
Usually they are terrible but these are decent and the noise cancellation actually works very well too
I tech journalist friend of mine said that he was under the impression all UK Z2's came with the noise cancelling headphones.
On Amazon they are listed as being part of the package and are NOT a preorder bonus

Until now i was using mostly over-ear headphones, i have sony zx600, sennheiser hd238 etc. I also have small beats. But this is something diferent. Small beats just give You a lo of base and nothing more. Huawei gives you rich experience on high and low tones, also noise cancellation is great. I am rockin E10S(bit less boomy than pl30 but better overall sound IMO). Probably the best earphone for that price, they really perform like much pricier 'phones, plus you get little switch that makes them working with EVERY android phone. They're not noise cancelling tho, only noise isolating but isolation is quite good and enough for most environments.
I'm after Adagios III from Final Audio Design, which are completely different league from (already great) Soundmagic's. Sadly, they don't come with mic and music remote

I agree. Going for the v30. Only thing that bugs me is LGs handling phone releases and communication. They showed it almost 2 month ago in Berlin and there is still no clear release in Europe.
Huawei showed there phone and immediately afterwards it was up for preorder on amazon. Can't say that for LG.
Specs wise lg has the upper hand in almost any regard as mentioned before.

Yeah, that part is just plain stupid..the could have seized the moment and sold just so much more than they will at the set retail price..i mean the hype over v30 was just ridiculous for those 2 months.. I sold my OP5 about 1.5 months after LG announced V30 thinking it might be available any time soon, but with all this "no info" / "no release dates for EU" I went for sweet IP7+ deal (I basically swapped OP5 to IP7+ with 50 EUR expense) and I am quite happy with it (limited eco system yeah but the premium feel, awesome camera, smooth performance, ram management is something to appreciate @500 EUR price) + and with all these screen issues and ****, I most definitely am not buying LG firsthand, meaning at its release date whenever that is for the retail price of 900 EUR. I still love a lot of things about V30, but I am most probably going to buy it when it drops to 400-500 EUR

Exactly, I agree.
I'm just not all good in my opinion about the Pixel and mate phones. The v30 has the most complete and well rounded package.
As I wanted to upgrade from my sgs7e anyways und smashed it 2 weeks ago I have nothing to lose. But if nothing is clear til the mate comes out I'm Definitely considering going for it. The prize is also speaking for the mate when you look at the 900 euro price tag on the v30.
I just have to buy something soon as the smashed screen on my s7 is slowly giving up.
Oneplus is also on the horizon and definitely worth a look.

Seem that 4000mAh battery dosen't give it much of an advantage:

Just wanted to add the jack to the list.
Also i wanted to add some other source for the battery of mate 10 pro, two blogger here in italy made a battery live test, in one it ended 2 hours before V30 with same SOT, but some more 4G usage, in the other one ended at 23 with 10% left, much 4G, and 5:30 of SOT, IMHO this doesn't seem to be good for a 4000mAh battery...
