Hi I've been working on a custom stock rom. While trying to find a working deodex method. I flashed the rom got stuck at boot, and decently hot outside of the case. When I went to boot up twrp. The T-Mo logo was pretty visible only on grey-ish screens. Anyway I put it over a fan for a few seconds. Fan was too far away didn't feel like getting up. Ran some image burn videos off youtube. Then left the screen off for idk maybe an hour, and it's gone. The key board was actually starting to fade it as well before it went away. Just wanted to see if anyone has had this problem, and maybe give someone a heads up.

Had an issue with mine 3rd day I had it, left it on an old computer while it was on and burnt the img into my screen, it was so bad I could see anything else.
Sent from my LG-H830 using XDA-Developers mobile app
To update my image burn went away as far as I can tell. Before it did though my keyboard was showing up. Haven't booted back into twrp in a while though. Gonna try to rebuild the rom again tonight. So I'll see if it's still there.

Mine seems to be sticking anytime my phone gets warm. I know lg phones run hot, but really? It's not bad enough to make me wanna shell out 175 bucks for an insurance replacement.

Just use blue screen filter from Sisco mobile with this settings and image retention will disappear completely.
What are the disadvantages of using the app?

Even for black navbar? I had it on for a while so I figured it was probably stuck. Which doesn't bother me too much, but I like having the transparent option.

I'm also interested in how it works. I'd guess it has something to do with how the screen works.

I think this has to be the best display I have seen on a phone. My One X is a beautiful display but it is too saturated especially in the reds. It makes peoples faces appear way too rosy. I am surprised by how tinted the Nexus screen is though. That is WAAAY to warm! What's really crazy is how much a difference in visible screen is present with the lack of on screen buttons. It's even more sad is that the phones are basically the same size so there is no rhyme or reason to use on screen buttons especially with how our capacitive buttons completely blend in.
Wow I know I shouldn't be bumping old threads, but this really puts the whole NAVBAR debate down the drain for me. I like having the option of having the on-screen keys, but looking at a phone the same screen size and seeing how much is actually cut off with on-screen buttons just seals the deal for me. Long live the OG!
Yeah, I was using the nav bar on my OG for a while, but missed that extra bit of screen area, so I switched back. Not a big fan of the placement of the two outside capacitive buttons on the OG either though. The LMT Launcher app is a godsend.
Wow. There is definitely a major difference there. LMT launcher makes it all the more tempting to do the N4 conversion, though. Basically makes the OG a BETTER N4. LOL

I hope we never have true edge to edge as I would be worried I would catch something just by holding the fone lol. There comes a point where looks/design can get in the way of practicality.

I agree. If these bezels were any smaller then you would be making all kinds of screen touches that you didn't mean to and it would be super cumbersome to handle.
And if the on screen buttons are your concern about eating up screen real estate, just root and use that app that hides them (directed towards the OP).

My proximity sensor is busted. I've tried all the different things like odining and getting compressed air and blowing it in the ear piece (which actually worked for like a day). So when I place a call the screen goes black and it won't let me turn the phone on at all. I know if the proximity sensor driver is just disabled I'd be able to turn the screen on and off by the power button while in a call. at any rate I was wondering if anyone knows what the driver is called for this phone. I would like to just disable the driver so I can get my phone functionality back. If anyone has any other ideas too that'd be more than welcomed. Thanks!

Go into Phone > call settings, then UNcheck "turn off screen during calls." That should allow you to use your power button while on a call.

Hey thanks so much for the response!! I should have specified i'm not a huge fan of touchwiz roms and that setting isn't in aosp for some reason :/ right now i'm on a touchwiz rom just because it's given me that option but i would love to be on the 4.4 aosp roms which i've tried and loved.
I haven't ran AOSP for awhile so I'm not familiar with the call settings, but there has to be a similar setting to disable it in there somewhere. This actually just started happening to me, I think my proximity sensor crapped out as well Look around, or ask in the ROM thread that you're using.

Fix!!! well sort of
ok so i found a workaround not really a fix but i guess it's gonna have to be good enough for me. I found an app called intelliscreen which gives you the option to set screen on/off rules for different apps. I set screen always on for the dialer and phone apps in 4.4 kk rom and now basically the screen still turns off during a phone call but i am able to turn it back on during the phone call with the power button or home button. pretty awesome because i really didn't feel like being on a tw rom forever lol.
Glad to here it

Doesn't that break auto rotation?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
The method of disabling the sensor in the .so folder seem to break auto rotate. For me however its kinda worth it. Anything I usually want rotated is always rotated on its own anyhow and not being able to use my phone as a phone is kinda the worst lol.
Some users in the CM 11 thread have had success using a Q-Tip with a little alcohol on it to clean a black haze on the sensor. This, however, requires you to take the phone apart, which is actually a lot easier than it would seem.

If you don't have any serious bleed issues with the top screen and it doesn't drive you crazy I'd maybe keep it. There are some pretty jacked up screens out there. I exchanged my first one and I'm typically not petty about that kind of stuff. We opened 5 devices and all of them had some sort of light bleed. Some worse than others. I took the one I felt was least noticeable.
It's only noticeable on white background. But it's super annoying now that I know it's there.

I got the exactly same stuck pixel, mine is from Verizon. Have the phone for three days, and it seems the stuck pixel appeared today. I don't know if Verizon will let me exchange it or I have to pay $35 restocking fee. Other than that, I am very happy with the phone so far!!!
For an obvious manufacturer defect you will have no issues swapping it. And it won't effect you getting your stuff from LG. I swapped mine day 4 and they approved my submission yesterday for the SD and battery
Maybe I'm unreasonable, but a phone that costs as much as the V10 does should not have any defects this noticeable.

Not necessarily. When I bought my G4, it had a piece of dust stuck under the glass, between the LCD panel and the glass and it would glow on brighter images. You could see it with the phone completely powered off and the battery removed in sunlight or under a bright light. T-Mobile swapped it out once they saw it in the store.
On a side note, is the light bleed on the V10's bad? Mine has a little bit at the top but I noticed it's only when the main screen is off and the second screen is on - there seems to be a second, white backlight just for the second screen that turns on when the main screen is off, and that bleeds into the second screen.
