It did solve my wifi problems
Will this retain our data or has to be fresh install?
This is great! The only problem I was having was the WiFi problem with the 3.0.101 (I was using the Ethernet, which worked great) and after upgrading it to the 3.0.102 version, the WiFi is working great. I will mention that I am running it on my HP Mini 110-3135DX from a 16GB USB 2.0 Flash drive and so far everything works pretty good and smooth. Thanks.
Still can't get play store working at all on this version...
Edit: Also still can't handle my gtx 560ti by default but seems to be slightly better. Still freezes after a few screen transitions though.
Edit 2: System time is still getting knocked out by an hour when booting back in to Windows 10. I had this on Lollipop too.
Others are getting the play issue. Any way I can help?
can't wait to try this update

I never use the app.
This method only works if you haven't already used the app to activate the Play Store
Instead go to settings/experimental features and enable debug terminal console. Then I use ALT&F1 to open debug command line and type :
pm disable com.jide.apppolicy
pm enable com.google.android.syncadapters.contacts
pm enable com.google.android.gms
pm enable com.google.android.gsf
pm enable com.google.android.partnersetup
pm enable com.google.android.feedback
pm enable com.google.android.syncadapters.calendar
pm enable com.google.android.gsf.login
pm enable com.google.android.backuptransport
After type pm list packages -d
You should see only the one you disabled

Hi,
I require URGENT help.
Originally i had a 64GB e-mmc on my windows tablet, which had a single partition of 57GB named C:\ & Windows 8 came pre-installed on it. Rest 5GB disk was kept as Recovery by OEM.
I updated to Windows 10 last year.
Now, a month back in order to run Remix OS beta, on my laptop.
i used Windows in-built disk management tool, to shrink the C:\ drive, & took 15GB from it & set it as a new partition, & named it E:\ drive.
& disabled Secureboot in BIOS, & then installed the beta Remix OS on the E:\.
As the Remix OS beta, would not load from Windows boot menu from BIOS, i booted Windows 10 & formatted the E:\.
Today, I downloaded the "Remix OS 3.0 for PC", & through it's installation file installed the Remix OS.iso on the (E:\) 15GB partition.
After the setup of remix os (running in windows) was complete, it asked for reboot.
After reboot,
It immediately shows me a screen:
showing: GNU GRUB version 2.02~beta2.
& listing RemixOS as the only option to boot.
[Windows 10 was nowhere to be found.
Apparently Windows Boot Manager had be over-written by GNU GRUB.]
Anyways, After selecting the remix os option, it kept loading till, it shows the language setup screen.
Then i'm unable to select the English language (keyboard doesn't work).
I have to force reboot, after clicking power button for 10 seconds.
But again GNU GRUB screen comes, & only shows RemixOS as an option to boot.
I created a bootable usb drive of Partition Magic Free .iso, & tried loading it from the BIOS menu, where it showed me two options:
1. Windows Boot Manager
2. UEFI: USB USB hard drive (# pendrive)
Upon selecting the 2nd option, nothing happened. it showed the same BIOS screen.
I then created the Windows Recovery flash drive, from another Windows tablet, on the same Pen drive (after formatting it).
Now surprisingly, the laptop succesfully booted from the Windows Recovery pendrive.
But the repair tool, did not solve my problem.
So i went into command prompt (which is built-in on the Windows Recovery drive)
went into DISKPART>list disk> selected disk 0> list partition> #selected the E: partition.
gave CLEAN command,
Which apparently cleaned the whole 64GB disk, rather than cleaning the E:\ partition.
So now, i require your HELP, in getting back my important files which were in my C:\
So that after recovering them, to my external drive.
I can load a fresh Windows 10 on this 64GB e-mmc card.
Kindly tell me, which software can i use to recover data from my CLEANED disk ?
Sweeeeeeeet. Wifi is now working. and it has already mounted all my drives :good::laugh:

The problem is bigger than using a standard method unfortunately. Something fundamentally isn't working with a few peoples' installs. We've all tried that method (which is my default go to) but nothing works...
Yup, just tried the 102 version hoping my WiFi will work...still nothing. It seems I don't have the lucky chipset. I have a RTL8192CU.
Oh well...maybe with the next update.
Hi. I'm new here. So pls bear with me. I downloaded remix os yesterday in India.
I want to know how to check the version. Because wifi is still not working for me. Ethernet is.
It's showing that the version 3.0.102 has solved the wifi issue. I have a Broadcom wifi adapter. Please help.

I had the same problem. Windows wasn't deleted, it just didn't have a grub2 entry.
To reboot into Windows, I pressed "c" to access the grub2 bash command-line, and then I typed exit, which loaded me into the bios menu for my Nextbook Flexx 10.1 Windows tablet. In the bios menu, I was able to select the Windows EFI Boot Manager, and continue into Windows.
Hopefully, this solution works for you.
When you boot back into Windows, if you are like me and are unfamiliar with editing grub.cfg files to add a Windows entry, grub2win is a fairly simple UI for setting up a grub2 bootloader. And from within the grub2win UI, you can change the EFI Firmware Boot Order.
Sorry, I'm new on RemixOS. Is there any app or settings to get the update via OTA? I enabled the unstable system option, but I can't get any message. Or should I update downloading the zip from Jide?
hello I have a tablet lenovo miix 3 and I wanted to install in hard top. I have already removed Windows. But when I moved over Remix OS , boot the first he said: you need to load the kernel first...
How do ?
how can I update from 2.0.402 to 3.0.102.
I couldn't find any OTA updates in settings.....

How to install Android x86
(Sony Vaio Tap 11)
GPT, UEFI, working ARM translator
Hi.
This guide is written for "[FONT="]Sony Vaio Tap 11[/FONT]" (all versions), but it should work for most, if not all UEFI computers with GPT hard drives. However, on "[FONT="]Sony Vaio Tap 11[/FONT]", Android 4.4 RC1 works perfectly. EVERYTHING is functional, including ARM translator, both cameras, Wi-Fi, touchscreen, Bluetooth etc. Therefore, this tablet is an ideal choice for running Windows 8.1 together with Android.
First, download all the required files & software in one package:
What you need:
One USB flash drive (16GB minimum) for installation
Minitool Partition Wizard 8.1.1 (included)
Notepad++ 6.5.5 (included)
Android 4.4 RC1 with libhoudini, GAPPS, Root & UEFI-patched kernel (included)
GRUB from Ubuntu 13 (included)
Working UEFI Windows 8.x with GPT hard drive, on the computer where you are going to install Android to.
The installation is very simple, however if you do not know what is "partition" or how to enter BIOS – Please DO NOT TRY THIS. Ask someone for help.
YES, IT IS POSSIBLE TO RUIN YOUR WINDOWS INSTALLATION AND LOOSE ALL OF YOUR DATA IF YOU MAKE MISTAKE DURING PARTITIONING,
so please be careful.
Let us begin then! Everything is going to be done on the same Windows 8 PC you are installing Android to.
[FONT="]0) [/FONT]Go to your PC BIOS and turn OFF "Secure boot" (it will not affect Windows 8). On "[FONT="]Sony Vaio Tap 11[/FONT]" it is ALSO required to "Clear all secure boot keys" in BIOS setup and reboot once. Leave UEFI boot turned on.
[FONT="]1) [/FONT]Start Windows & install Minitool Partition Wizard 8.1.1 (pwhe8.exe).
[FONT="]2) [/FONT]Insert 16 GB USB drive. Format it with regular Windows Explorer, use FAT32.
[FONT="]3) [/FONT]Run Minitool Partition Wizard. BE CAREFUL! CHOOSE YOUR USB DRIVE, NOT YOUR HDD! Resize the main partition of your USB drive so that there is 7.9GB of free space left AT THE END. Do not exceed 8GB.
[FONT="]4) [/FONT]Not closing Minitool Partition Wizard, create PRIMARY EXT2 partition to the extent of that 7.9GB of the empty space on your USB drive. Name it "Android".
[FONT="]5) [/FONT]Close Minitool Partition Wizard. Go to Windows Explorer and copy everything FROM the folder "[FONT="]Install USB[/FONT]" (not the folder itself!) to your USB drive, so that you have "[FONT="]EFI[/FONT]", "[FONT="]boot[/FONT]" and "[FONT="]android[/FONT]" folders in the USB drive's root.
[FONT="]6) [/FONT]Press "Shift" on the keyboard, and while holding it choose "Restart" from Windows 8 charm bar (that annoying vertical stripe to the right). "Advanced Reboot" menu appears, choose "Use device" -> "UEFI USB drive"
Now, if you are using Sony Vaio Tap 11, there is everything already set in config files & you do not need to edit them. However, if your PC is different, now it's a good time to test if it can run Android x86 at all. So:
[FONT="]7) [/FONT]a) - ([FONT="]Sony Vaio Tap 11[/FONT]) - When black GRUB startup screen appears, choose "Install Android" -> wait for installation screen -> Select partition "sdb2 (linux)" -> Select "Do not format" -> Select "Yes, install GRUB" -> Select "Yes, install system r\w" -> Wait -> Select "Reboot".
[FONT="]7) [/FONT]b) - (NOT [FONT="]Sony Vaio Tap 11[/FONT]) - When black GRUB startup screen appears, choose "Live Android 4.4" and TEST EVERYTHING. Don't worry if ARM translator doesn't work - it will, after you install Android to HDD. If everything seems fine, choose "Power Off" from Android (NOT “REBOOT”!), start Windows again and repeat steps 6) & 7a).
[FONT="]8) [/FONT]Now that you have installed Android to EXT2 partition on your USB drive, it is time to move it to HDD. Remove USB drive. Start Windows and launch Minitool Partition Wizard.
[FONT="]9) [/FONT]THIS IS THE PART WHERE YOU MUST BE VERY CAREFUL. Select your main computer's HDD. Find Windows partition (disk C:). If C: is your PC's only drive (like on [FONT="]Sony Vaio Tap 11[/FONT] and most Ultrabooks) - carefully resize it with Minitool Partition Wizard, leaving ~8.5GB of free space AFTER it. WARNING! DRIVE C: IS NOT ALWAYS THE "LAST" PARTITION ON YOUR HDD - SOMETIMES THERE ARE ADDITIONAL RECOVERY & OEM PARTITIONS AFTER IT, WHICH YOU CAN'T SEE UNDER WINDOWS, BUT CAN IN Minitool Partition Wizard. DO NOT TOUCH THEM! RESIZE JUST THE DRIVE C:! If there are additional (logical) drives in your PC (D:, E: etc.) - resize the last one that you can see under Windows explorer, but, I repeat, DO NOT TOUCH ANY PARTITION BEFORE OR AFTER IT!
[FONT="]10) [/FONT]Close Minitool Partition Wizard. Insert your 16GB USB drive, where Android was just installed. Launch Minitool Partition Wizard again.
[FONT="]11) [/FONT]Select your USB drive. Choose EXT2 partition and COPYit to the free space of your main HDD, but position it AT THE END OF FREE SPACE - remember, we created EXT2 with the size of 7.9GB, but resized C: to free 8.5GB? Therefore, there will be ~500-600MB of free space left BETWEEN YOUR RESIZED DRIVE C: & EXT2 PARTITION. That's exactly what we need.
[FONT="]12) [/FONT]When copying of EXT2 partition finishes, create new PRIMARY FAT32 partition in that 500-600MB of remaining free space. Name it "GRUB" and let Minitool Partition Wizard assign some drive letter to it (don't worry, it is all temporary). Let's assume that the letter assigned was "E:"
[FONT="]13) [/FONT]Now the fun part COUNT (literally, with your finger) ALL PARTITIONS ON YOUR HARD DRIVE FROM LEFT TO RIGHT - count every single one, including the just created "GRUB". Write down (on a sheet of paper) the position of your just copied EXT2 partition - on [FONT="]Sony Vaio Tap 11[/FONT], it will be number 7, on other GPT computers - likely 6 (or 7). Close Minitool Partition Wizard.
[FONT="]14) [/FONT]Go to Windows Explorer and copy everything FROM the folder "Copy to GRUB HDD Partition" (not the folder itself!) to your newly created "E:" drive ("GRUB"), so that you have "EFI" and "boot" folders in "E:" drive's root.
[FONT="]15) [/FONT]Go to "E:" drive's root and edit the file "boot" -> "grub" -> "grub.cfg". Do NOT use Windows' "Notepad" for that, use included "Notepad++"
[FONT="]16) [/FONT]Find this:
Code:
menuentry "Run Android x86" {
set root=(hd0,gpt7)
linux /android-4.4-RC1/kernel root=/dev/sda7 androidboot.hardware=android_x86 SRC=/android-4.4-RC1
initrd /android-4.4-RC1/initrd.img
}
CHANGE "root=(hd0,gpt7)" & "root=/dev/sda7" TO THAT NUMBER YOU'VE WRTITTEN ON A SHEET OF PAPER - for example, if your EXT2 partition was 6th from the left, change "root=(hd0,gpt7)" to "root=(hd0,gpt6)" & "root=/dev/sda7" to "root=/dev/sda6". DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE. DO NOT ADD SPACES. Save the file.
[FONT="]17) [/FONT]Edit the file "boot" -> "grub" -> "loopback.cfg" in exactly the same way as in the previous step. Save the file. Close editor.
[FONT="]18) [/FONT]Remove USB drive if you had not already. That is important – if USB is inserted, then ITwill become “hd0” for grub & Android would fail to load.
[FONT="]19) [/FONT]Reboot your PC. It will start Windows as usual. Wait until it booted completely and go to Desktop (from Windows 8 Metro screen)
[FONT="]20) [/FONT]Move your mouse to the very bottom-left corner & press RIGHT button. Choose "Disk Management". Find your little ~500-600MB "GRUB" partition (disk "E:" in this guide), press right mouse button & pick "Change drive letters & paths". Press "Remove" button. No more useless disk "E:" in Explorer
[FONT="]21) [/FONT]At last, press "Shift" on the keyboard and, while holding it, choose "Restart" from Windows 8 charm bar (that annoying vertical stripe to the right). "Advanced Reboot" menu appears, choose "Use device" -> and surprise! New choice appears there - "UEFI HDD drive"! That is your Android. This is how you will access it every time (reboot Windows with "Shift").
To return to Windows from Android, just select "Power Off" from drop-down, & then simply start your PC again. Do NOT use terminal command "Reboot" - if PC is rebooted from Android to Windows without proper shutdown, Bluetooth will not work under Windows until switched on\off in Android.
In a rare case when GRUB becomes the default UEFI loader, not letting you to start Windows – there’s an entry in it to chainload UEFI Windows 8 boot manager. You have 5 seconds on every boot to select this entry. Then your PC will boot Windows normally, & Windows should automatically correct its loading sequence. Android will still be accessible in a usual way.
That's it Happy hacking!

Once you perform step 2, (Format it with regular Windows Explorer, use FAT32) you should be able to copy the files to the USB drive. If not, there could be an issue with your USB drive. You won't be able to see the EXT2 filesystem on Windows, this is just for OS installation later.
Ok il try transferring the files then doing step 3, 4 (not 5 because weve already copied it) then 6 onwards. Thanks
The USB drive itself is fine, I use it everyday

I tried this, and when I reboot using the advanced reboot, use device, UEFI USB drive, it just reboots and goes to windows.
Oh and also my sony vaio tap 11 in advanced reboot > usb device > it doesnt say 'UEFI USB Drive', it just says 'EFI USB Drive'
now when I was doing step 0, there wasnt anything in my bios that said 'Clear all secure boot keys'
Not sure why this wont work for me, im usually quite good with following these sort of things.
Anymore tips?
Ok a bit of an update,
If i boot from the USB stick (this is a second usb stick im trying now)
I get: Could not open "\EFI\BOOT\fallback.efi": 14
error: variable 'root' isn't set.
Any ideas?

How to install Android x86 (Sony Vaio Tap 11)
Hello, Android 4.4 KitKat is working perfect on my Sony Vaio Tap11, but i have not enough disk space to be able install Apps on the partion that i create for Android. could you please help.
where to get android-x86 system files tool?
Can not distinguish partitions during x86 install on a win7 notebook
Sda 1
Sda 2
Sda 3 . . . And 2 more even though i have only 3 partitions.
There is no other information , and I do not want to instal Android in the Windows C volume. The only recognisable item from that list is the flash drive containing the Android installation Files. This is the very first day on this forum and the very first question, Im yet to find my way around this site.
Thank you
Hello guys
it will be helpfull if anybody will port android x86 L to 32 bit......
installed and used once. Reboot fails as the grub config hasnt been written. " error - variable root hasnt been set." system is read only so I guess the grub file will never get written. The installer needs option to write a grub config or installer generates its own. Im sick of reinstalling this thing through all install options. maybe in a year or two I'll try again.
I have a Asus t100 I'm trying to install remix os on without a windows os. I used pmagic since I'm not that good at coding, I tried coping all the files from release_Remix_OS_for_PC_32-bit_Beta_Version_Package
to a new partition then when I try to boot from it my computer just goes straight to bios because theres nothing to boot. I also tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/remix/remix-os/how-to-install-remix-os-virtualbox-to-t3301160 with no luck can someone help me I just want remix os installed on this computer with no other OS
Asus T100 uses Intel Atom Z3740, a 64bit processor. So use the 64-bit version of Remix OS. The 64-bit version of Remix OS also has UEFI, which makes making the drive easier, and booting faster. Make the bootable USB as per instructions, and disable secure boot in your BIOS. You should then be able to boot from the USB.
it won't work. T100 has 64bit processor but a 32bit system

Ok I just did it so, here is how I did it. Use gparted, from gparted.org, booted up, partitioned, small 500MB FAT32 formated partition, second partition EXT4 the rest, 58GB+. Then took 32bit beta using JIDE's tool to put on a USB stick. Booted the stick and when it came up, entered e, to enter grub boot config. On the second line removed the part after and put INSTALL=1. Installed android to the larger partition, then installed grub, grub efi, formated, then rebooted. Side loaded google services from this forum and it works. Bugs, biggest issue is no audio. Let me know if you have any luck.

From windows:
1) Dowmload and unpack RMX installer everywere you want (you will have a folder called RMX installer).
2) enter on RMX installer folder and execute the .EXE file.
3) Browse for the Remix OS .ISO file (use the 64 bits one, works like a charm for me )and choose the Data size (will create the data.img file).
4) disable secure boot and fast boot in your BIOS.
5) Boot and you will see the grub menu with Remix OS and Windows options.

OK but Asus t100 only uses 32bit which isn't a problem. And I don't have windows on it I have anot her computer that has windows on it but the Asus t100 has no OS at the moment I'm trying to install remix on it without installing windows so if the RMX Installer only works with a Windows installed then I have no use for it
Yes I'm having the same problem, with the new T100 that has both OS and CPU 64 bit.
The thing is, whatever you do grub won't detect either an external SD card or the keyboard dock's HDD as a boot option. They don't even show up in BIOS ! The only possibility seems to be booting from internal storage, which is too limited to dual boot Windows + Remix OS.
Anyone has tips for this ?
Thanks

When installing Ubuntu on a Surface Pro I had to use a USB-keyboard as the BIOS didn't recognise the original one. If you have one laying around you should try.

GRUB
libergm said:
Let me know if you have any luck.

how can i install grub? i tried every method found in the internet but non of them worked.
please help
Specifically attempting to install it on an HP Envy Note 8 with an Atom x5 processor and 2GB of RAM. It originally had Windows 10 on it but I've pretty much wiped it out (formatted the entire SSD including recovery partitions).
I have an 8GB flashdrive formatted to FAT32. I run the 32 bit Remix OS installer and once it finishes I use a micro USB to USB adapter to insert the flash drive. When running the 64 bit installer the Flash Drive shows up as a bootable device and up on selecting I get an error with a memory location (ex)0x8XXXXXX something.
I tried the 32 bit installer (probably should have used that in the first place) I do the same steps use the Remix OS installer Tool and start up the tablet. However this time the tablet does not recognize the flash drive as a bootable device (literally just does not show up in the list of bootable devices have re-run the installer 3-4 times with no change). I have tried it with and without virtualization enabled and with and without secure boot enabled and get the same problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
update: I got it to boot 64 with secure boot disabled. How do actually install the files to the local drive?
Update 2: Was able to install to the local hard drive by hitting e on the selection screen (Guest or Resident) and adding INSTALL=1 DEBUG= to the end of the parameters section but above the existing new line.
It's working and running well however the touchscreen is unresponsive any way to get that working? Right now I'm using a micro USB splitter and a keyboard/mouse plugged into the USB ports.
Im in, I'll recieve my mi Pad 2 soon (same cpu) I'll try to get it working too when I rcieve it is there a working Android solution for ur envy?

Check if reloading the modules helps.
Either #rmmod i2c_hid && modprobe i2c_hid
Or start RemixOS from fully off i.e. don't reboot from Windows

Remix OS is the only OS on my tab I did a complete re-install and disconnected the Keyboard and Mouse before boot (didn't actually do that intentionally as a troubleshooting tip I just needed to attach the charger). It's working now!
One issue after the next~ but im excited so far. Touch screen is working OS is installed.
Now I can't get the screen to rotate though. I double checked auto rotate is on and I also attempted to double tap F11 to get it to manually rotate but neither seems to work
Edit: On top of that I get stuck at a flashing Remix OS screen after reboot now that doesn't go away even after around 20 minutes of waiting.

Yes it's force locked by default (think of it in terms of a PC and that makes sense)
Have a look at one of my threads; either Overlay Apps, etc.. Or systemless root
Personally I'd try the systemless root (if you are running 64bit which I guess you are); it has rotation enabled and has that touchscreen 'fix' as a su.d (init.d) script.
So after restarting the system I'm stuck at a flashing Remix OS (Remix OS is installed to my hard drive after using the installer I removed the USB drive and my initial boot was from the hard drive not a USB) any way to get around this?! Persists even after multiple reboots. I've let it sit for around 20 minutes on this one now.

Does mount show that /data is mounted? It could be that data.img has corrupted like from a bad unmount. Not sure if you have access to it; but to confirm modify grub to use guest mode (data in ram) by adding/changing DATA_IN_MEM=1
I tried add DATA_IN_MEM=1 to the boot but it didn't seem to make a difference (although it did notably restart on it's own instead of just staying at the flashing screen) where do I need to type "mount"?

So after an attempted reinstall i get the same issue anytime I shut down and restart. The only way i can boot is from the installer screen by choosing "Run Android x86" the grub boot doesn't work
edit: using the data_in_mem and data= parameters it launches in guest mode
edit 2: guest mode keeps restarting itself and doesnt respond to keyboard input
edit 3: i had plugged in a flash drive unplugging it made it go back to the remixos logo and not boot

Sure
I run the "Remix OS for PC Installation Tool" from a separate windows PC and use the "USB DRIVE" option to put the 64 bit remix os files on my flash drive
I then use a powered USB HUB and a Micro USB to USB converter to plug in a keyboard and the flash drive. I hold down the volume down key on my tablet to get the boot options and then choose the flash drive as the boot drive
From there I'm given the option of "resident mode" and "guest mode" I hit "e" on the resident mode and add the lines INSTALL=1 and DEBUG= to the second from last line in the grub commands.
I then get a blue screen I choose my hard drive as the install location and choose to format it to ext4, I allow grub and grub 2 to install, and install it as "read/write". It then says "expecting to write" and then runs from 0 to 100% and says syncing to disk. From there I have the option to "Boot to Android X86" or "Restart" and I remove the flash drive.
If I choose "Boot to Android X86" it boots into remix OS and I can use it until I restart. After restart I get the flashing white Remix OS logo and it never finishes booting (just to be certain it wasn't an issue with it taking a while I literally let it sit over night for about 10 hours to see if it ever finished and it did not).
If I choose "Restart" I get the flashing white Remix OS logo after the grub screen and it never loads.
I think that should cover it.
I am getting this error
Error:Cannot find GRLDR in all devices.Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart.
@MalikShahrozAwan cmon... that's way too few information.
What's your device?
How did you install Remix? Using official installer from Windows to HDD, from Windows to USB, from USB to HDD?
For the future, try to be less lazy please... ughhh
well im using hp dc7900 tower pc
core2duo
4gb ram
3.16 ghz processor
i installed remix os using official installer to hdd
from last 1 month it was working fine and now i see this error
1. Did you updated using OTA?
2. Or did you do nothing and it stopped working?
3. Can you boot into Windows normally?
i did nothing and it stopped working
yes i can normally boot into my windows 7
Just reinstall it then. It's quicker then troubleshooting.
You can back up the RemixOS/data.img file to some other partition -> Uninstall -> Install anew -> restore the backed up data.img to the RemixOS folder -> reboot into Remix.
I don't know how but your bootloader config got corrupted. Maybe you have badblocks in the drive filesystem. You can try:
Start cmd.exe as administrator.
Run this command but change X: to drive where RemixOS is installed:
Code:
chkdsk X: /f /r /x
Once it's done, make a screenshot/picture or save the contents of the console in notepad to show results to us.
Reboot into Remix and check if it helped.
I'm not sure where GRLDR is expected to be - on same partition as RemixOS installation, on disk C: or on the hidden windows boot partition. I don't know legacy boot that well.
It's very likely that badblocks are the problem. It's pretty common and it happens when Remix OS crashes or has bad power management - shutdown/restart causes immediate powerdown of device, even if it's in the middle of writing to disk.
You can install a clean copy of windows in your Yoga Book using the ISO from Microsoft and these drivers.
You will need a USB OTG cable and a USB hub to connect a keyboard, a mouse and a USB drive to your Yoga Book.
You will need three USB drives. One for creating a rcovery drive (16GB), one for windows Installation (8GB), and one to hold the drivers.
- Make a recovery pen drive before you modify anything. This will allow you to restore the device to its factory state, in case you need to return it or are not happy with the results of your modifications:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/instantanswers/3a747883-b706-43a5-a286-9e98f886d490/create-a-recovery-drive
Keep this drive safe and use it if you want to restore your Yoga Book to a Factory state.
- Download a copy of windows and make a USB bootable drive:
https://www.microsoft.com/es-es/software-download/windows10ISO
- Download the drivers and put all the files in a pen Drive. These drivers are from september 2016, posted by UweThelen63 at the Lenovo Forums, looks they deleted the post, here is a copy I made:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxTLcy78OveNUW1KVk9iN3lBS2s/view?usp=sharing
To install windows, put in the USB with the ISO, boot the Yoga with VOLUME UP + POWER button, choose boot manager and select USB UEFI.
Follow the windows 10 installation to the end, you'll get a couple of black screens, just wait. The display will be rotated, use the USB mouse to navigate.
When windows is installed, use the Drivers USB, extract everything and start an Administrator command line ("windows key" + "X", "m"). Go to the folder where you extracted the drivers and run "startmodule" for each driver. Start with the Intel Cherry trail drivers.
I haven't installed the LenovoShutDownHelper yet. I don't know what it does.
You'll have to go into the display settings and rotate it to 270º when the Intel graphics drivers are installed.
For me, everything works except the haptic feedback for the keyboard. If you find ahow to make it work, please, let me know.

We need unlocked bootloader, however, I think its not developed yet.
Anyway, when bootloader unlocked, android users can install windows because of dproldan's contribution!
I'm going mad because of android's humble multitasking interface! I really really hope Nougat releases ASAP!

I'd like to know how to install the Dolby programs as well.
That said, to enable the haptic feedback you have to either fix the startmodule.cmd in the immersion vibrator driver folder or manually install it. The .cmd file doesn't set the paths right for the files it needs to copy.
To manually install it:
copy to %windir%\system32 :
Code:
touchsense.dll
touchsensed.exe
(maybe vcruntime140.dll... on my windows 10 it already existed)
then make the folder touchsensed (still in system32, so after it will be %windir%\system32\touchsensed)
copy to this new folder %windir%\system32\touchsensed :
Code:
license.param
tuning.param
then open an admin command prompt and do:
Code:
sc create TSSvc binpath= %windir%\system32\touchsensed.exe start= auto DisplayName= "TouchSense Service"
sc start TSSvc
sc failure TSSvc reset= 0 actions= restart/1000/restart/1000/restart/1000
After that, reboot... and on next boot you should have haptic feedback.
thank you. I reinstalled everything again and did that. Haptic is working now.
Dolby also installed by itself. Probably has something to do with the order of installation. i did the cherry trail drivers first and then the rest, with a few reboots between them.
How did you get the product key or did you have to get a new one?
In my case, Windows activated itself if I connected to WiFi just after the language selection display. I guess the key is stored in the BIOS/UEFI/Mother board.
I don't have a Microsoft account.

hello all...
i have a trouble to clean install my windows yoga book (YB1-91F). Basically i have done all the preparation, driver, windows on usb. Even i make sure i've created bootable usb flashdrive. But everytime i go to boot menu there are no UEFI usb option, there are only greyed boot EFI and boot windows option. i have try to load from advance startup option inside the windows, but in the end it only show "the system doesn't have boot to EFI". so it kind of stuck for me. Even if i choose reset my pc, it always says there are trouble reseting my pc, no change were made.
i want to reset my yoga book, because i've been infected by some malware, and i think my internal storage and windows registry is somewhat junked.
Ups, sorry... i've solved the problem. Eventually I use MBR for the bootable flashdisk where it shoud GPT format... now, i'm clean installing my yoga book. Crossing finger, hope all goin well.

you should start command prompt as an administrator.
- click start
- type cmd
- right click cmd, select run as administrator
- continue to each driver folder
- run startmodule.cmd

you should type command completely with the extension... it's should be "startmodule.cmd" inside each folder of the driver
When I installed Windows 10 again, Windows Update did most of the hard work with installing drivers. So as long as you can get an internet connection by installing the wireless drivers (try using the Device Manager > Search for drivers on this PC) you should be good.
