Hi,
I found only one tab reader (Tabdroid Lite)for the Android but its not up to par to 'Tab ToolKit' (iphone os).
I am currently in HK and thus only have a limited access to the market store. Are there paid guitar tabulator apps for Android (besides Tabdroid)?
Cheers,
AndyGuitar
Doesnt seem to be anything in the market other then the pro version of the app you found. Sorry.
Guitar pro android
No news about android version.
They're ignoring android?
Guitar Partner Pro allows you to read, edit, create and play GP files on your Android phone.

Seems to crash with a lot of guitar pro files though...
Guitar Pro's facebook page says it should be out really soon. (Last posted 12/11)
Guitar Partner Pro dindt crash on my devices one time.
Its based on the Tuxguitar source, so i think its reliable.
The only thing, that annoys me about it is the side-scrolling: It only scrolls whole bars. I wish there was a smooth scrolling.
And i wish they had a feature to select tracks. You can only choose beetween the first and all-at-the-same-time.
But until Guitar Pro is released, its a good alternative.
I really think, it is just a matter of time till they make GP for android. They can get a lot money out of it, so just join their FB page for further info and news.
It's coming soon!
"Soon: we're working hard to fix all the issues that remains. We hope to release GP on Android in a very near future. The application is almost done!

Great!!! looking forward for that
Pretty awesome, can't wait till it's released
Hey again XDAers!
I have posted a similar thread before, but it did not comply with some forum rules, so it was deleted. I will try to post it again without the counter-band.
If you tried to play a game and all you could see were white textures, this tut is a solution for that.
* First you need to install a 3rd party OpenGL driver for SG3, download it from the official Google market here:
https://market.android.com/details?id=eu.chainfire.cf3d
* You need to have root priviledges on your phone in order to install the driver and you need at least 500KB of free space in "system/" folder. When you install this app, go to the "CF3D driver" menu and tap install. The CF3D app will reboot your phone automatically.
* Now you need to get additional plugins for your new OpenGL driver (basically shaders from specific manufacturers like Qualcomm, nVidia etc.). You can search the inter-tubes for "libGLEMU_QUALCOMM.zip", "libGLEMU_POWERVR.zip" and "libGLEMU_NVIDIA.zip" to get the shaders from three major manufacturers.
* Place these .zip archives into your SD card (any location will do) and then install them from the CF3D app by tapping the "install plug-ins and shaders" menu, The app will find available plugins and ofer to install them.
* To play NFS Shift, Asphalt5, PES11, Assassins Creed and similar games you need to set up the driver:
- Go to "Default OpenGL settings" - NOT "Per-app OpenGL settings" and check the box next to "Reduce Texture Quality" and leave other options unchecked.
- Tap the "Use plugin" drop down menu and choose Qualcomm plugin - if you don't choose this plugin, games will still have white textures (some games work with different plugins, so experiment, but these four games work with Qualcomm).
* To play NOVA, BiA2, MW, Miami Vindication, you need to check both "Reduce texture quality" and "Reduce texture size" in OGL settings.
If you get white text or white textures, you've done something wrong, you have most probably checked the "Reduce texture size" checkbox which is causing the white text or you didn't tick it and you have white textures in specific games. If you still get white textures check if you have selected the Qualcomm plugin! Play with the settings, you can't brake anything permanently, some games require different plugins and different settings.
NOTE: You can't play genuine HD games on SG3 this way, so don't buy them from the market, you have to find moded/ported games for SG3's or similar resolution, port is usually done by Noops. These games are considered "Warez" on this forum, even if there are no paid versions of these games - so there will be no links.
Tip: Look for a Ukranian site link below in the posts, it's very educational
You need both the .apk file and the cache archive (КЕШ). The cache needs to be extracted to specific folder in SD card (usually /gameloft/games/). Do not download the files via app from official servers, use the provided cache files.
Thanks to devs who ported these games! Noops, Alelug, max71rus @ 4PDA.ru forums. If there are more, please let me know.
Here is a video of some of these games running on SG3 with this method, thanks to werker123:

Download and place the cache to your SD card manually, don't go and authenticate on official server, of course it will refuse your license.

Hello!
A few weeks ago, i wanted to create a game like Dungeon & Dragons but of Windows Mobile. You know, something like a Text Game RPG.
First things that camed trough my mind:
Name: Drakonian Adventures(Not sure but im waiting sugestions).
Type: Medieval/Fantasy RPG
Class/Race: Well... as for the races will be the normal RPG races(Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs <maybe more?>) and for classes(Warrior, Mage & Ranger <maybe 1-2 more>).
I got a few characters, story, location ideeas, but i want to know a few from you .
Well, first tought about pragraming was to build it uing Visual Studio 05/08, but im not sure that you can make "saves" in VS, you know... files like mygame.sav(or whatever was the extension) from witch the player can resume the game.
If you like it, I will need a bit of help with the programing:
1. How to create save files & a load/save game system in VS(maybe other cross-platform app?).
2. Loading screens? I don't get the "Progress Bar" to work on my HTC.
3. Ambient/Background sounds for diferent locations?
4. Getting it to work on all screens? QVGA, VGA, WVGA...
Do you think this is a good project? Shall I continue with it or throw it to the trash can?
got my hp touchpad earlier this week, like webos a lot tbh, but decided to dual boot with alpha 3, being new to android on a tablet i dont know what apps are worth downloading and what works?
any tips on some good apps to make me use the android side of the dual boot?
sadly cm7 is android 2.3 which is a phone os and everything that i would want the tablet version of just runs a high pixel density version of the phone app. unlike honeycomb, ics is open sauce so maybe theres hope for a true android tablet yet.
Oh, there are plenty of apps that are tuned for a tablet display even under 2.3. Here's a list of some of the ones I have installed:
Browsers
Dolphin HD
Opera Mobile
Apps
Evernote
Kaiten (tablet-friendly SMTP/POP/IMAP client)
Business Calendar
Nook (offers two-page reading view in landscape orientation)
Zinio
Netflix
News Readers
Pulse
Taptu
gReader
feedly
YourVersion Tablet
News Republic
Additionally lots of games either have tablet-specific layouts or take advantage of the extra real-estate:
250+ Solitaire
Angry Birds HD/Seasons/Rio (pinch zoom to see the full level)
Cut the Rope
Peggle
Stupid Zombies
Dabble HD
Pocket Legends
Random Mahjong
Majesty
Pinball Ride
There are a few launchers that give a better tablet experience as well, in particular VTL and ADW EX. Both offer dock bars that rotate with the orientation to the bottom of the screen and can be fitted with more than just four or five icons.
Even though they don't have tablet-specific UIs, many other apps do scale up to the larger screen very nicely:
Quickoffice/Documents to Go/OfficeSuite
Kindle/Google Books (unlike Nook, landscape view is single page but still very crisp)
WebEx
Anyway, you get the idea. While there are many apps that use the new Android 3.0+ APIs and therefore won't be available to us until ICS, there are plenty of other apps that give the full tablet experience even on 2.3.

AFAIK there's not a tablet-specific version of Facebook for Android yet, even for 3.0+. There are alternative Facebook clients for Android that may offer a more tablet-like experience, but I think that webOS was the first to get a tablet Facebook app, and then recently they released one for iOS. Nothing for Android yet...

That's what I thought also. Until I got out my old china made hundred dollar tablet with Facebook installed. Sure enough it does have the sliding navigation pane on the left side just like the ios version. I copied the apk on the touchpad and I lost the left pane navigation. I think fb app see the touchpad as a phone, so it doesn't show the left nav pane.

no i didnt. i thought it was still closed source.
i still want alot of tablet versions of apps that dont appear. such as swype and googles apps. honeycomb and ics also give better understanding to a tablet without home menus and back buttons.
Don't use facebook app, it's fat. Friend caster for facebook has a tablet view!
i did install netflix and evernote and both are running tablet versions different from the phone. the tablet version of evernote is actually quite impressive. its amazing that netflix is plays video so smooth compared to the strange laggyness of everything else.
Just got CM on my Touchpad and noticed Netflix has a tablet UI on the Touchpad different from the UI I get on my phone with the same version. The Touchpad has a nice working tablet UI. Pretty nice considering there is no Netflix support in WebOS.
Also Firefox just released an update with a new tablet UI. By default it goes to a phone UI, but any Firefox user knows its easy to change settings. Simply go to "about:config" in the address bar and change "browser.ui.layout.tablet" from "-1" (Auto) to 1 (Enabled). This will force Firefox to use the tablet UI even though it auto-detected a phone. Also useful is adding the string "general.useragent.override" with value "User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1" to spoof a desktop user agent.
Yo guys,
Nothing really new: a quick search on xda and I can see that this has been posted at a few places already.
But still...
- Have you ever wanted to show your dad what your magic phone does for you?
- Have you ever wanted to test drive an Android app before actually installing it on your phone?
- Ever got stuck without your phone and you miss your favorite 0-gravity game?
Well, problem solved!: test drive BlueStacks' Android App Player beta-1 for Windows.
All you need is an e-mail address, choose if 'you have a phone' or not [can sync your phone apps automatically -I'd suggest you to use a trial email address with the "I have no phone option" first...] and go enjoy your new gigantic smartphone on your big screen
Take that pads!!
The default installer is 3.6Mb in size, but there is also a ~100Mb .msi installer available [see pic 1].
Windows XP users might also what to make sure that they have Windows Installer v4.5 installed prior to BlueStacks' Player installation.
Hope you enjoy as I do.
Cheers.
I read about this a few months ago but never found it again. I missed the idea so much!... ^^… Thanks a lot dude!!
CM7 + CM9 double boot
Np - you're welcome.
Well this one ain't too old; it was officially released less than 24 hours ago..
Still a little limitted with some demanding apps (3D, maps, ...) and Hello Ads!
But still, has it uses...
For windows phones and tablets owners probably even a little more...
I read that microsoft was very interested in the project and maybe planned to buy it. Imagine if windows phones had access to the android application ecosystem? Big-time money for them. Even i would think about leaving android for WP if it happened
