If you find this useful hit Thanks and Rate the thread.

This is a valuable thread. There has always been posts like these for different phones but seems like all the bootloader/radio flashable's are scattered throughout the forum. Mayne we could keep this thread updated.
Would personally like to see an archive of all bootloader/radio flashable's released for Angler here. I'd definitely help out anyway I can if needed to keep this thread updated.

Getting error too. I tried flashing the radio img via adb and got error saying partition not available.
I'm still on Marshmallow, assuming that is why.

I use CM13 and see other stuff in the zip that are different since the image extracting of full release and flashing the img with adb.

Thank you for sharing the information, I will save this information

I got an error about some partition when flashing this... When installing nougat update does it change partitions? It also did change my radio version though even though I got the partition error..

Apologies in advance for my ignorance but what is the benefit/purpose in installing this? Thanks.

Unless you came from the latest stock updates, your radio and bootloader do not get updated by custom ROMS.

To flash the latest version of CM, be sureto have updated your phone officially to Stock Marshmallow. If not latest CM will not flash. You an error.
I'm guessing your phone is Indian version? Anyways go to the huawei website of your country. Download the marshmallow software file there and upgrade it through force update like i recommended here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5x/help/gr5-help-t3443573
I think you should go into your current custom recovery first and wipe data/factory reset. So u don't get bootloop as a result of CM files being on board currently.
The firmware in the link above is not for your country/device but for Egypt KII-L21CUST185.
So get the correct file for your device for your country's huawei website as mentioned above.
After flashing successfully, you have to flash custom recovery, again. Remember the whole 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' process then flash SuperSU in custom recovery to root? Yeah do that.
Now you can flash latest CM build again. Cheers!
Note: If your country doesn't have marshmallow (6.0.1) available, don't bother with the process as latest CM build will not flash.

Hey guys, it's been awhile again, and I've yet to flash as accordingly taught. So is there already any easier method than flashing stock MM based EMUI and flashing again to custom?

redmi note 3 from cm13 to miui 8!!!

HI! I am using the redmi note 3 snapdragon variant, and i have unlocked my bootloader unofficially and curretly using cm13 rom.
I want to swith back to stock miui rom,i.e miui 8 ,bt i read that directly flashing the rom will relock my bootloader and brick my phone.I have lazy patcher and twrp installed in my phone. How to switch back to stock rom without relocking my bootloader since root access is very imp. for me.
Thank you.
Official unlock is better than unofficial unlock.. Try to flash latest global stable via MiFlash, and unlock it.. If 50% error appear, try to flash global beta and then unlock again..

Hi, according to this thread
Cofface is not recommended for unofficial unlocked bootloader
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67505475&postcount=2
Yet cofface is required for flashing to marshmallow roms. So can I get some confirmation here if it can be used for unofficially unlocked bootloader?

you may want to use the "safe twrp" version. its a variant of coface which ensures you dont flash the emmc file. however since you have CM13 which has its own firmware files.. i think you should go the EDL method and use the patched emmc file. refer this http://en.miui.com/thread-253680-1-1.html

Yet he also mentions
Cofface TWRP : Google Drive Link

• Patches boot.img automatically, no need to flash UBP Zip after flashing MIUI Recovery ROM Zip.
• Users with official unlocked bootloader can use this TWRP tp flash custom ROMs as well MIUI ROM Zips.
• Users with unofficial unlocked bootloader should strictly not use this TWRP for flashing MIUI Recovery ROM Zip.

Indeed it is very confusing with various twrp's around..I wish there was only one CWM or TWRP which could flash any rom..
TBH I have also officially unlocked BL, but looking @ various threads daily I am yet to flash TWRP..
It's very confusing & afraid that I would brick my device..:crying:

There is a MM specific emmc file (patched)..look for that on miui forums and follow the steps . I can send you the link later. It will still be unlocked since you are using a patched file. But u will lose your recovery since you are flashing everything stock. So you got to flash safe twrp again after flashing the rom through fastboot. It's just like flashing the LL rom but with a different emmc file.
Alternatively you could use safe twrp as well but I am not 100℅ confident since MM has different firmware/ partitions so I dont know if it will work or not. There are too many users reporting various issues such as bootloop, no sim detection etc etc.
If any experienced user can write a detailed guide for upgrading from miui LL to MM on unofficial unlock using safe twrp, that will be great. Until then use EDL (but backup ALL partitions using Alka twrp before you start)

Hi, so I take the it steps are similar to edl method you posted earlier except that I have to replace the emmc patched files with mm version instead and start flashing the MM miui v8 rom.
I'd appreciate if you could share the link since I'm not sure where to find it.

If you had your bootloader officially unlocked then do it the normal way, why even go to shady paths and get compatibility issues in future.
The thing is all those firmwares which claims that bootloader won't be unlocked just removes bootloader from firmware, so it doesn't get upgraded but if you're on lollipop bootloader you have to do it the official way otherwise you will bootloop.

Flash the firmware given by thestrix, and if your bootloader dosen't get locked you're on mm bootloader and fine to flash 7.1.2 roms. But if bootloader gets locked(which means you were on lollipop bootloader) then you have to flash latest miui dev rom through edl and unlock it again through miui unlock( it won't give you 50% error again).

Yep, if bootloader doesn't get locked you're good to go. Otherwise you have to do all the process I have explained above.
My RN3 (Kenzo) is running miui 7,unlocked bootloader and twrp installed. But whenever I install any rom it bootloops. First I tried to flash XENONHD it gets stuck in the xenonhd bootanimation and after that I flashed Pixel rom in this rom it never gets beyond the google boot logo. What's wrong with my device? Please guide me to fix this.

Not directly, but if you remember where you have got it, you can guess.

It means you're on LP bootloader. If you have officially unlocked, to upgrade to MM bootloader, flash the latest MIUI or the firmware provided by TheStrix on LOS official thread(this will relock your bootloader), go to fastboot, plug device and unlock via Mi Unlock. If you did it unofficially then read a few post back, someone posted a fix.

Nope.... well you can flash TheStrix's firmware, if your phone boots up then you're on MM, if it didn't(Mi logo flashes for a second before turning off again) then LP . Or try a safer way but you needed to download a full ROM. Download the latest LOS(or any latest LOS based ROM), flash it, if you get bootloop then you're on LP bootloader.

Thx for your help.
I've flashed 2 firmwares on my kate(whithout emmc-appsboot.mbn file in it):
7.5.25 (beta) and 8.2.4.0 (stable).
I've got no problem when flashig both, but when I flash Resurection remix (last build which is based on LOS) I stuck on bootanimation. But i don't think it's a bootloop because my phone dont restart(Black screen + MI logo + bootanimation). it just stay on bootanimation and never boot (ask for pin)
Wait but why do you need to unlock officially?? I unlocked unofficially and flashed lineage (i mean cm14.1) and it worked like a charm. Though you need the firmware.

I am on the most updated version of TWRP available for my device (3.0.2)

That's odd, because Error 7 is usually related to Updater-Script. Have you modified your model name in Updater-Script or just removed the line from it?

TWRP version is 3.1.1-1 now so you're not on the last.
Beside that, the question is what was on your device before :
- Did you already installed OOS 3.1.4 at one point?
- Didi you use the BLUpdater method to update the bootloader (logic ) ?
If no to the 2 questions above, that is the problem. So , you'll have to use the mega unbrick guide !

I actually haven't done both. I tried flashing the OOS 3.1.4 full ROM but it did not work. I will update my TWRP to 3.1.1-1 and I'll try it again. I do have an update though, I am able to flash an old version of Android M OOS using "OnePlusOxygen_14_OTA_003_all_201510241934". If I am able to install this, maybe this isn't a bricked device? Any advice would be super useful, thanks in advance.

I mean if I fully encrypt my device... is it possible for the TWRP to do the decryption?

It should, yes. Try it out and let me know if something doesn't work. If it does not work, let me know which variant you're using so i can try to fix

I'm having a hard time finding out which variant you would use with your model. Do you have a recovery now? If so, can you share it?
My advise would be to try each one out and find one that boots up. Make a backup of the rom you have now before you try flashing any new roms. If i have to go back and re-release a new build specifically for your device i will. I just need to know what is compatible first
Twrp
Good morning, how can i install twrp? I tried to install it but i can unlock bootloader, i tried to unlock OEM in the developer options but than i said locked and when i tried to install it via Odin nothing happens, i want to install Bootleggers roms on my J5 (SM-J500FN) 2015 model, someone can help me? If there is a better rom tell me. Thanks

The option to unlock bootloader is in options>developer options. Then do what you have already tried.

Currently I got a recovery in this thread, and the twrp version is 3.0.2.0.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/development/recovery-samsung-galaxy-j5-t3338869
Inside this thread, there're some j500_ models, and each link directs to different file.
Thanks for your reply and help!!
