Lolipop only.
Edit: Somebody tells that it works also on Marshmallow, but you can try, and write a feedback.

Hey guys, just one problem with the sounds with my Xperia Sola.
I have changed the stock system sounds and replaced them with this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2103024
I have changed all the permissions to the correct ones.
Doesn't work no matter what I do.
Only way to work is to flash the stock ROM with the sounds included, my current stock ROM doesn't seem to recognise them ? - no unlock/lock sounds, camera shutter sounds, click sound etc. - even if I put the stock ones back.
Why is this ?
Thanks In Advance.

Have the same problem since the latest ICS update.....i can only get the incoming call ringtone(which is a song from my music collection) to work and not the message tone nor the whatsapp tone.....so i assume that there is a problem with the system sound files and hence would try to use downloaded tones in their place and see if they are working well....see if that helps:fingers-crossed:

well i've tried to install normally, i've done it successfully on my Xray, but XSP (mine 2.245) its a bit difficult... v4a cannot run well (even the prossesing say yes) maybe bcos of firmware... or musicFX that doesnt allow any third parties fx... well u could try to install normally if it work than the prob is my phone.. hehe
for two day i have test the normal way with .245 firmware. the installation worked fine, but the sound was not louder or better. I will try your method. Thank you.

Ok.. first sound protection.so stop enhancement if the enchancement is too loud or reach its treshold.. so its better to delete it... v4a is not function well is not relate to this file... go to option then select sound change to v4a or wrong driver installed..

I want to hear my music with more bass and on paranoid android(screenshot with yellow equalizer) it works great but on cyanogenmod or pacman(screenshot with blue equalizer) it does not work or at least there is no big diffrent, all three roms based on Android 4.3 and uses Dsp Manager.
On the Picture you can see that they use diffrent frequents, so how can I bring that "good" equalizer on pac-man and cyanogenmod? I allready replaced the /system/libs/soundfx folder with the folder from paranoid and all files in /system/libs that sound like they are importent for audio but it did not work.
Anyone an Idea?
And sorry for my bad english, I only learned it in school.

Viper works on most JB kexec roms - I used it a longer time. Make sure you install it the right way like described in its thread.
I tried ViperFX but it is still not as good as the pre installed when it is working.
Someone know how to fix this?

Gotta Remove anything that has to do with DSP manager first before the install...then install the two viper apks, then driver when asked. Viper works great on the stock .16 rom...surpassing DSP managers sound quality in CM10...I also installed Apollo on the stock rom.
Hi all, I have modded the Xperia SP snd_soc_msm_2x file so that it will use earpiece aswell as loudspeaker while playing music, watching youtube etc.
I found this on monivan's stereomod thread for the xperia Z (which i have) and I find it so cool that I wanted this on my sister's XSP so now I'm sharing here with you!
Also, want to make clear that @monivan did make the initial test file for XSP.
Without him i probably didn't make this for you guys!
First of all, PLEASE DO A BACKUP OF YOUR CURRENT FILE BEFORE PROCEEDING!!
It is located in /system/etc/snd_soc_msm/snd_soc_msm_2x
DISCLAIMER:
Everything you do is your choice, if you missing any important call or getting fired because of alarm didn't work, you busting your earpiece or thermonuclear war starts off and you point your finger at me, I will laugh at you.
I take no responsibility for your actions.
REQUIREMENTS :
-Rooted phone with busybox installed
-Stock rom (may also work on AOSP/CM, don't know try it yourself and let know here)
NOTE: THESE ARE NOT FLASHABLE ZIP FILES!
How to install:
1. Download SurroundSound-xx-xx.zip file.
(links available in download section)
(if not available request desktop version)
2. Move your stock/current snd_soc_msm_2x from /system/etc/snd_soc_msm to any location on your sd card.
3. Unzip the zip file you just downloaded and copy to /system/etc/snd_soc_msm
4. And set correct permission rw-r-r a.k.a. 0644
Like this:
XX0
X00
X00
5. Reboot
6. Turn down your volume before using and increase slowly to test safely.
I tuned volume values so that sound is not distorting at all kind of genres, with any music player at full volume with no equaliser settings active.
But please be careful using this!!
To test if it works see: Left/Right Stereo Audio/Visual Test.: http://youtu.be/dvqbq_0jZ_U
Have fun!
V 1.1
-Added a low frequency filter to prevent distortion
-little lower volume, especially with Xloud off
-Optimised layout
V 1.2
-Added Multiple versions to better fit anybody need's
DOWNLOADS:
combined left/right channel (may result in distortion at high volume's)

Ok I reuploaded the file just to be sure.
About loudspeaker: there is not supposed to be changes in that, this mod links the earpiece to loudspeaker to play together.
You can test this by putting your finger on the back speaker to cap it off while playing music, or see this: Left/Right Stereo Audio/Visual Test.: http://youtu.be/dvqbq_0jZ_U
About your headphones: I have changed nothing to that, only to speaker and earpiece.
You can try replacing your original file and disable v4a, test, then replace it with this mod and test again

I've tested on both aosp and stock rom, are you sure your speaker is damaged?
Did you have any other audio modification installed? Any equalizer settings?
Maybe you can try to reset those or flash another rom and try this again. To make sure

I'm asking this so that it can warn others maybe.
Also, you mean the speaker on the back of the phone? Loudspeaker?
Coz that's strange since I didn't increase volume for back speaker.

Depends on volume and how many music / movies you play. But I don't think it consumes much.

And to answer your question, no. Only way is run stock rom.
Hi. thanks to @mannyvzla finally i got Viper4Android to work. on Stock Rom, Stock Kernel and Marshmallow!
here are the steps. (you need rooted s5)
1.Install busy box.
2.flash this file via recovery menu https://www.dropbox.com/s/k9cnruw2e1t1d4t/ViPER4Android-supolicy.zip?dl=0
(it will allow viper4android for your stock kernel)
3.after that go to SuperSU Settings and uncheck the entry for namespaces.
4.install viper4android normally (just download the original apk and install it)
5.install the driver, restart phone
6.enjoy your music In BEST QUALITY
Mod works fine!!! Thanks for share it.
A question: How to increase volume in MM stock? Any mod or kernel or app like boeffla? ....

I also froze the built in music player, adapt sound and google music to make sure it wouldn't interfere.
I couldn't locate the music effects in either the default player or google music, which is why I disabled them.
Again thanks for this, my device sounds great!

Just a quick question, does it work on the stock Music Player of Marshmallow?
does it work on g906s?
Thanks a lot! Worked perfectly on my Galaxy S5 with marshmallow.
I tried this. The drivers were installed normally. But whatever options I enable in the V4A, it doesn't have any effect on the sound. I'll try it again.
