I've been searching all over the forums and I've found some results that don't fix my problem.
First of all, I've been flashing a lot of roms recently on my GALAXY S2 i9100.
For example: Rootbox JB, Thebyani rom, supernexus, resurrection remix jb, revolt jb, and some other ones.
I've had no bricking problems during this. (just incase you think thats why)
The problem is, whenever I flashed a rom, the external_sd card was in emmc or extSdCard. This caused a problem (I think) that didn't make the Gallery, Google Play, Ubermusic, and other apps not be able to read my external sd card. Is there a way to fix this? When I was searching in the forums I found two bind applications, one called RemountSD which did bind extSdCard/emmc to external_sd in my internal storage but the apps were still unable to read any external sd information. And Directory bind with the same outcome. I also tried clearing data in google play, clearing my phone's cache.
NOTE: This problem didn't come with my old daily rom which was pure ics 7.4 but I don't want it anymore. It was stock android so the external storage was in external_sd. This means all the apps read the external storage. The problem was with ALL of the other custom roms, except this one.
I also followed the rom's installation instructions so I don't think it's something that I did during that process.
Right now I'm using Resurrection Remix 3.0.5 as my daily rom but I still have this problem. The only app that would read my external storage is PowerAMP but i also wish i can use google play at times or store some pictures in my gallery. Because then what is the point of having an sd card?
I have an 8GB SanDisk memory.

the problem:
-You are experiencing a known problem with media scanner, there is nothing wrong with your SD card.
-this is the reason why your gallery and other players except PowerAmp could not find your media files, because they depend on the media scanner.
-the reason why PowerAmp could find your files is because it has it's own media scanner and is there not dependent on Android media scanner

Hi all, I recently brought a used samsung galaxy s2 (i9100) but the guy who had it before me has rooted the phone (clockwork recovery one) and he has installed ICS. Everything seems to work fine but the problem is when i go to the SETTINGS>STORAGE page i have 1.97gb internal storage and 4.11gb usb storage. so i have like 8 gig of the internal memory missing! how do i fix this? If i have to reflash the phone could you please also give me the links to download the files and a good walkthrough. I live in the UK so if possible could i have an unbranded uk copy of ICS. Thanks :fingers-crossed:
Also there are 2 apps installed... SuperSU and CWM
Hello,
I am very to flashing of ROM's on my Galaxy S3 so im still learning about things (so pretty much im a rookie)
As in the subject line, i have the latest UltimaROM v5.0.2 installed on S3 and its working perfectly and its rock stable. Really happy with it.
However I do have a quick question regarding extSDcard.
The phone somehow reads my extSDcard as an internalSD card and vice versa for the internalSD card.
In the camera when i have extSDcard (which is internal SD card) chose as the storage, the camera app FC.
While installing the ROM i did select the HyperMOD for the camera and i didn't select the option of Internal2External SD Script option.
Can anyone explain why this is happening and also how maybe i can i have the storage the normal way perhaps?
Thanks guys.

I don't know what this rom is based on but if it's Samsung based you can try to take the vold.conf and vold.fstab file from a stock rom and put it with root explorer in folder etc.

Try selecting the internal SD card instead

Thanks guys.
I just reflashed the ROM again since i wanted to try different mods and this time around i made sure i didn't chose the interna2external sd card option.
things are the way they were before.
thanks for all your help.
Hi guys im new here and uh i've been trying to look around on google and forums i still cant find the option to encrypt microsd (or lock sdcard) on Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 Galaxy s3 i9300 unlocked international
I just need to lock/encrypt sdcard with password, incase i lost my phone, i wouldn't like if people take sd card and pop in another phone and see all the pictures i saved in.
So any help is appreciated
Hi, I have recently flashed an Ace GT-S5839i with Ace-i-Sure ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2258319 and so far love it, the only problem I have is accessing the SD card.
When the phone boots it says it is scanning, however within Phone Storage it is all greyed out and cannot be mounted. I can access it through recovery, and tried putting it in a Galaxy S3 and formatting to see if that would sort it but no joy.
Is there anything obvious I could have missed, or need to add/configure for Aroma to see it? I can get another card to try but as it shows up on the S3 and in recovery I assumed the card itself is fine.
Thanks for any help :highfive:
