Long time since my atrix 2 days. Finally got a Nexus 6P and looking forward to helping with development. I had a team that would port dozens of kexec ROMs for the atrix 2 community. Wasn't easy... But From time to time I'll try to port ROMs on request. Might take a while because porting has never been an easy task but I'm willing to contribute. Looking forward to being a part of the Nexus Community.:good:
Welcome, friend.

According to several members that have contacted DELL, the official Honeycomb OTA is supposed to roll out within 48 hours.
We'd love to have someone there w/ HC experience to help us tweak things out and get it flashed!
************************************************************
Hello fellow xda members,
I know many devs and community members are busy enjoying and developing for many new shiny phones and tablet, but today i turn and ask for your help.
There is a small community of DELL Streak 7 owners along with ONE DEV who are trying to bring some life and a lot of improvements into our small and pitiful tablet running Tegra2.
Our current Honeycomb 3.2 build is running off the XOOM dump. We have some features and errors that of course, because there is no native dump for the streak, are having problems fixing.
I come asking as a poor newb, because i really tried to learn how to learn to modify ROMs and i couldn't do it, for your support.
Our one and only dev right now is DJ_Steve (Click here for profile), who has done and continues to do a freaking amazing job. He has achieved what many thought was not possible; making honeycomb work for our small tablet.
If any of you guys out there have any time and ability to spare, we would REALLY appreciate your support and expertise.
DELL has said they would release a HC update, but as we know, so has every other android manufacturer; most lie.
So, I come representing many, and humbly ask, will you help us out?
If you feel as though you can, please do not hesitate to contact DJ_Steve or visit our small part of paradise, as our link is below.
******7/29 UPDATE*********
We would truly really appreciate the support of any and all developers who can contribute in any possible way.
If it's of any incentive, you can now get the DELL Streak 7 @ Staples for $200+Tax after you apply this $100 coupon:

kickin it up
Up again. We now have an additional dev onboard as well as some members who've started learning android rom compiling!
Please don't hesitate to post on our forums or contact me or dj_steve if you can help out
would be nice to get more devs working on the streak7. I would be happy if one could get gingerbread running on it.

Just like the link says, be a part of CleanRom history! I'm currently experiencing his awesomeness on my GS3, and encourage all of you to help get him on the Nexus 10.

not trying to be funny but I had to buy mine flat out if we get Scott one then we need to get MMuzzy one then Mike18xx then Fitsnugly then Romannbb then Peter Alfonzo then the Cyanogenmod team and whoever else develops ...... I seriously don't have any ill will toward Scott but a lot of the later developers spend some real time dealing with the asop source building it up just to be as good as stock and with more features that they have wrote from scratch that others kang into their ROMs but to take and decompile a nexus ROM with a kitchen add some things or "tweak" it just doesn't add up to the amount of mental labor that goes into what you would get from AKOP CyanogenMOD BuglessBeast JellyBro or MMuzzy's ROMs that are built from pure need to be compiled code I'm sorry if I'm coming off kinda hating tip but rebuilding from a factory rom most of the hard part is already done so if he can point out what makes his development different than what mine could be using the same source and tools I will gladly make a $50.00 donation toward his cause
You'd have to ask him that question, as I'm not at all versed in the language of Rom building and the inner differences one to another. What I do know is that he's done great work for the GS3 and I'm willing to support him for the Nexus 10. His roms aren't some half assed thrown together crap either. It's pure speed and stability.
From what I understand he also does work on the Nexus 7.

Don't get me wrong I know he puts a lot of effort into what he does and I'm not knocking him but when its all said and done with we all do this for fun as an expensive hobby, the only person who I heard got hired from all of this or their reputation is Steve Kondik (sorry if I spelled that wrong) and I still have yet to see him ask for a device but hey .... anyway I hope the best
[Q] What can we do get some more variety of roms & devs especially from original HOX?
Was just wondering if there's anything we can do to get some more dev's over to our HOX+ forum? Not that I don't appreciate the work that's already being done by current dev's.
i agree...especially to get some new roms our for AT&T models as well. im willing to help the devs in any way possible if itll get some fresh content out
This depends on what you are looking for and the devs ability to get a phone. The big AT&T issues is the TEGRA processor in the + versus the qualcom in the original.
Re: [Q] What can we do get some more variety of roms & devs especially from original
a dev won't build a Rom for a device they don't have in most case's bud
Theres not many x+ owners in general so a small dev community is expected

Well that sucks since we paid a lot of money for a very high end phone and the phone only came out in europe in november so technically its still a VERY NEW phone yet it seems like the development community is for such a new and high end phone REALLY small... I expected a large dev community for such a high end expensive phone ... what a disappointed... especially when it comes to looking at the ORIGINAL development thread that's suppose to have aosp based roms and yet all i see is multiple roms being discontinued e.g. aokp 4.1 and miui rom... if things carry on the way there are and we keep loosing more devs than we receive the development community for this device will be virtually non existant ...
we need to do something about it... get some more devs from the Original One X thread over to the one x+ maybe chip in all together to get a popular well recognised dev over at our thread the way people did it for the viper x rom developers.... what you guys think?
AOKP 4.1 and CM10 got discontinued because of work being continued on CM10.1 and AOKP 4.2! we HAVE LIVES too, the amount of PM's i have gotten this week just because i went on a 4-5day holiday was horrendous! Either step up to the mark, help the dev's, or shut up!
Re: [Q] What can we do get some more variety of roms & devs especially from original
Also I just re-read what you said, seems you under value myself and max who have done a TON of work for this device!! You are just ungrateful! Quality over quantity every time

Just to echo what Lloir said, if you think things could be done a certain way or at a faster pace........you could always roll up your sleeves and build it yourself!
Being on a number of devices and around this kind of thing for a while, I can tell you that if you keep on pushing and pissing off people like Lloir....you won't have him for too long!
It ain't nothing for someone like him to put his device on swappa or something and go develop for a device where the users are not as ungrateful as they seem to be here.

Here are my thoughts:
I think we have two of the *best* android developers in the XDA community (Lloir and Maxwen) developing for our device. The AT&T Hox+ has a not so friendly Tegra processor when it comes to development. Not sure if you have flashed the CM 10.1 ROM that Lloir and Maxwen have produced but it is rock solid for a "WIP" ROM. Something you very seldom see for a first release. Personally I am extremely thankful for the efforts these 2 guys give towards our device. Thanks Lloir! and thanks Maxwen for your kernel work.

Re: [Q] What can we do get some more variety of roms & devs especially from original
Oh my God, all i was trying to say was that it would be nice to have a bit more variety in our Dev community, this thread i created because i wanted to find out if there was anything we the community could do to increase our Dev community e.g. Get the community all donate so more devs could buy a one x+ etc... And in the first post i did actually wrote that i am grateful to current devs... Lloir you have seriously mis understood my comment! Words can not express how grateful i am to you doing so much work for our device and not just you but all the devs... As for the statement of roms being discontinued, i didn't know the reason and I'm sorry ... I really am. Please don't think that I'm an unapreciative person because that couldn't be further from the truth

at first i must say i really believe he didn't want to seem ungrateful just like many other, but i think this is a problem, that is to be observed in many subforums of xda.
i guess this is mostly an iussue of missunderstanding what this forum really is.
in first place this is not somewhere to find lots of roms and tweaks for your exact device.
it's a place for development and sharing of it's results and we as users should do our best to contribute to the community as much as we can.
be it testing and giving feedback or for everyone who really is interested in extending the amount of choices: learn to get it done by yourself.
start with small steps like first java programms, simple apps for your device, theming and porting simple mods.
try to compile some kernels from git and maybe port an aosp based rom to this device.
learn how everything works, create by yourself, port, etc and share it.
and if you really don't know how to be helpful in any other way... just hit the thanks button and donate a little bit for something the devs have worked in their spare time.
One year ago, I started development for the HTC Flyer. I am delighted by the fact that I could bring you XK MIUI GingerBread and XK CyanogenMod 7. A few months later, we got ICS Lisbon working, and later we also brought out ICS Yetki. I truly hope you, this wonderful community, enjoyed are work and hopefully are still enjoying it.
Howver, unfortunately it's time for me to move on. I spent quite some time the past months on Android, but I am very busy with school at the moment, and that will only get worse. Aside from that, I also have to take care of things like my drivers license and exams. At the moment, I think it's better to get a job and save money for the university, as I will need it. I have a few ambitions with a few open souce projects I want to realize, but those aren't Android related. But when that project is finished, I will notify you guys. But aside from that, I don't really have a lot of spare time to work on development.
So thanks a lot guys. Thanks for being an amazing community
Kind regards,
Chaosz-X.
Thanks for your work here.
You will be missed. Especially since it is getting all too quiet on this forum.
We'll see you around here again (either on this or other devices) if you ever decide to develop again. Good luck with your other pursuits.
Thanks a lot. Good luck and hope see u soon.

Thanks for your work! Developers and Cookers are younger day by day lol! =)
Sad to see it happen but I'm not surprised.
Good luck, thanks for all the blood/sweat/tears you've put into your flyer project!
Best of luck to ya!

So, no 3.x kernel for Flyer, huh? Too bad, would be a great goodbye present from you
But I guess now all of us should give you lots of presents for bringing what HTC didn't
Hello, ladies and gentlemen!
Now that I have finally got my hands on a YP-G70, it's time to start developing for it! For my first project, porting AOKP! If you're like me, the default customisation options are not enough to suit your needs so you turn to a custom ROM. AOKP is my first choice when it comes to customising my device. Since there currently exists no JB AOKP ROM, I have taken up the task of porting it myself. (Hopefully, I will not have to resort to building it from source!)
It will most likely be a long project, and I could not have been inspired to take on this task if it wasn't for the awesome developers working on ROMs. Any help along the way would help this project work out!
Step 1: Finding a good ROM to port from.
Reserved.
U rock!
if you could develop would help. I'm taking classes, until then I'm just tester
Looking forward to this!

If I can help you perhaps, the best rom to port from would be a rom with simillar hardware. You can go search for the nexus s or the galaxy s I9000 as they've mostly the same hardware as the SGPs 4.0 and 5.0. Still I recommend building from source for optimal quality.
I was hoping this would not be the case but I have set up a Linux box for building just in case. Thanks, I can spend the next few days off from school working to get this started!

Moved to General for now, when the OP is full of development, will be more than happy to relocate!
