Hello guys,
This morning I installed kitkat on my lg g2 D802. I am now running it but I want to go back to 4.2.2. However, I lost the root when upgrading, as well as the custom recovery. Right now I can't seem to root it again, and Im unable to flash a stock rom, as when I am on lg flashtool, it says that the device is not recognized. Does anyone have an idea on how to get back to 4.2.2 so that I can root it again. I really need to because I need to flash the baseband again as I don't get any signal right now.
Thanks a lot !
This is not the correct forum for questions, you should read the sticky posts.
However, this might help:

Edit: this might be the better solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2672076
Be careful not to brick your device. You do not have a backup of your partitions, do you?
Oh, sorry for that.. The solution proposed is for linux, and I only use windows. I have a nandroid backup on my phone, but I cannot access it because I don't have the recovery anymore. I saw the second link and tried to follow the tutorial but I block when trying to actually flash the tot file, this is why I sent the screen capture.
For the Linux solution you could run a Live-CD/DVD on your windows computer.
If this does not work, look for downgrading guides here on XDA or google. There are a couple, just search for them. I will report back if I find something.

Looks like a global solution, although not very simple: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
It's the second sticky post here, just bellow "Questions do not go in GENERAL". But since you did not read the first, I presume you did not have a look at the second

Slow down and take a breath. Does the screen come on at all; and/or do you get the charging LED if you put the phone on the wall charger?
You also say you tried sideload; which if you are talking about sideloade flashing a ROM, that contradicts the statement that you can't get into recovery (need to be in TWRP and in sideload mode to do this).

I see from your other threads (please don't "cross post" or create multiple posts for the same issue) that your screen comes on. Therefore you are likely not bricked.
Try to wipe cache and flash recovery via adb. RUU should also get you back up and running, but you need to either relock the bootloader or be s-off. And I honestly don't think you need to RUU (especially if it means you need to go through the hassle of relocking the bootloader, just to unlock it again later after the phone is running).
I see form your "other" posts you found the RUU link. But there is no way we would know that from this thread. A good example of one of the many reasons why cross posting is confusing and counter-productive.
Hi All,
I have an issue, My device is version 4.4.4 build 23.0.1A.0.167.
I got told i need to load version 4.4.2 on my device, now when i try and find a tft for my region (South africa) it doesnt match . Also would i lose my data like videos or will it just be apps.
What i need to know is this, all i want is root access, and now i cant for some reason get into the service menu *#*#7378423#*#* .
Would installing the Nordic version work ? ( i remember i did this with my old x10i) it not locked in.
Also maybe a bit of correct direction on which rooms to use as a lot of sections claim this is how it must be and i really dont wanna mess it up the one section i have been trying to follow is here
forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/4-4-4-creating-rooted-update-package-t2933155
Its easy dude, all u need all those file ftf, flashtool, pre-rooted rom etc. And the most important thing, google it!
Downgrade to android 4.4.2
Root it and install recovery
Insert your pre-rooted rom in memory card
Reboot to recovery
Install the flashable pre-rooted rom
Wipe cache/dalvic
Reboot and wait for the android system upgrading
Done.
which Z2 version do you have? D6502/D6503?
D6503 problem is I couldn't find my tft any where. Thus why i need to know if I can use a different one
Yes, of course you can use any D6503 firmware, it will work just fine.

better downgrade to 4.4.2 and root then install recovery, then flash this from recovery, it's a rooted UK .726

Ok, how do you now down grade, that my issue as well
OK, first, download and install Flashtool from HERE , install the software and then go to drivers folder, or just copy and past this link in your Computer address bar C:\Flashtool\drivers\Flashtool-drivers.exe
check these boxes |Flashmode drivers|Fastboot drivers| Xperia Z2 device drivers and press next to install them, better restart your computer afterwards. After doing these steps reply to me and I'm gonna tell you what next
I can't seem to get root on my Sm-T337A.
I want acheive root and learn to develop and experiment with custom ROMS. I'm very new to this.
I was able to install Odin and install a boot.tar file but the Tablet kept boot cycling into recovery mode. I tried what I thought was sidebooting files using adb, but apparently I don't understand how that works yet. I restored the tablet by forcing it into install mode (held down power, vol down, and home) then used Odin to install the boot(LP).tar file which restored the tablet. This ROM is indeed the AT& T Rom, but it is not the same one that came with the Tablet when I got it new (it has a different look).
Please help.
Here is the information on my tablet.

I was able to root mine with KingRoot but after rebooting it said I had to take mine to the nearest At&t store. Yea...that won't be happening. Through Odin I flashed the LP boot tar. Fixed it. But I really want to gain root. There is no way around this? There has to be a way to unlock bootloader. Thanks in advance.:fingers-crossed:

Look up t337a temp root in xda. A guy says he figured it out but Noone has tried it. I use mine for work every day so I can't chance it. If you're brave enough to try. If it works put in a reply there and let me know. It says it works on our bootloader

Okay first thing first...
This thread is now under new & better management as it is now only about the device itself, but also rooting, custom recoveries, & even xposed specifically for the LG K7!
if you have any questions about any of the fun topics here please feel free to PM/post your questions here.
LGMS330 source code
Somehow & IDK how, but I downloaded the source code for the lgms330 & it also comes with instruction to make a custom rom with it!!!!!
I'm so excited!!! once I get my phone back from LG to fix my phone & send it back to me...(they won't let me fix it myself)
Im going to build cyanogenmod & TWRP for LG K7 in the meantime
so here's the download link for the LGMS330 source code...it contains the kernel as well!

2. I created an app to install the xposed framework WITHOUT A RECOVERY
3. It work! but after further testing my app....it started to reboot my phone whenever I tried to run the installer script...since xposed framework was already installed from the first initial attempt....it way suppose to say it way already installed...but this only happen on this device but NOT my shield TV(i do NOT know why & do NOT have any logs)
4. after my latest testing of getting everything to work...I tried the latest concept I came up with a better way to install xposed framework succesfully...
5. it failed completely since now I soft brick my device...so in order to fix my device now.... is for anyone who has this device & has root could give me the following:
1. boot.img
2.userdata.img
3. recovery.img
4. system.img
5. other img file here
I really need this phone to work again because app development & (hacking) is a hobby of mine & the lg k7 is my only phone that has root & my only MAIN phone too since my kyocera hydro wave sucks & its sorta hardware broken....
also I did explained a few thing about the app im in the middle making...BUT, Once I fix this bug(s)....I will try to release it on google play or somewhere on here
you won't believe how easy it was...to do it without a recovery!

I had bootloops when i was a kid too.but the FRP binary pick up and kknox kickin half of us {me included} on the knobel kernel...... im sick of bootloops tooo

I havent tried to install supersu in my terminal app (yet) I just finished on my app & just started testing it on my own....I will try to add a supersu option for anyone who has root, but not from supersu
It seems most can't understand the situstion im in....
I actually rooted my device, but the complications came after when i made an app to install the xposed framework...it worked the first time, but when i tried to install it again to see what will happen...the app crashed & rebooted my phone...after the third attempt I was left with a brick....
So my issue here is that I DID NOT have trouble on gaining root....HOWEVER I figured out why my app broke my phone & I fixed my issue(s) & added many safety protocols to be initated if the the same case ever happen again

Not as well as I liked.... K7 a little akward
I had as just a hard time if not equal to the ms770 stylo ... Im beginning to not like LG grrrr. It's almost like the bootloader is locking .... As this thread started it was all about the su binary not taking it then maybe rooted after restore. But in both devices I had to uninstall root. Just had root until reboot and a mess after that. Is there another issue with the bootloader on lg? I can say that I think there is a diference in su ap and installed binary so pay attention.
I did not do well in my imaging ability... I should have reached to ask assistance but need to start and finish these two. I went ahead and customed them with out root apps ... The buyers didnt carecause they never seen root apps anyway. Im getting another this week ... More time hopefully
I've seen quite a few people swear off LG. In my opinion their phones aren't bad but I guess as far as 3rd party developement, they make it difficult.

my personal opinion is playing is that using apps without recovery is stupid. i am also guilty of being stupid/impatient and f'n up my phone. but lets not encourage stupidity bro. educate the people. i installed xposed through adb before recovery was available too but, and for those of us that are just tired of typing the commands, copy, paste, rename directory and all its awesome. but to mass distribute it to the masses of newbs????? how many willl soft brick their phone cause thet wanted their wifi signal bars to look like a deathstar.
