Stable rom for casual user - Xiaomi Redmi 3 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I was looking through questions/roms and found it really confusing, which ROM should be the most suited for daily use.
It is for my girlfriend, who is not tech enthusiast and would get annoyed if I flashed roms on her new phone just to check which works the best. She doesn't play games and performance would not be an issue. Daily apps (facebook, snapchat, camera, browser, messaging etc.) must work well. The phone will arrive with custom ROM from Aliexpress and chinese junk apps, so flashing is essential.
Should I just flash official global ROM or would you suggest something else?

Global MIUI 8 6.8.4.

SpaceX/ManhIT based on Global MIUI 8. A bit slower updates but leaves out the bloatware and adds some optimisations. Can be flashed on locked bootloader

Thanks! If SpaceX does not have any bugs I will try it out.

Debloated, optimized, stock ROM

Guys, I've looked through the threads here but I can't seem to find a rom which is stock, but debloated and optimized. I am on CM11 now but I am experiencing very bad battery life and some instability. I will be passing my S3 to my daughter soon and I would like to have a stable rom with good performance and battery life. It would be best if the ROM would be a modded stock rom which includes the factory languages, Icelandic to be exact
Can anyone point me in the right direction? It doesn't need to be Kit Kat, just a stable and fast rom.
Thanks!
Try this.

giving me error file corrupt, redownloading doesn't help, flashed 8 different versions of twrp
@bjornvil: I guess your daughter often uses internet - then JB or KK are too unsecure. I recommend an AOSP-MM-ROM: Haxynox or Slim (fewer features than CM and its clones, but fewer bugs and lite).

[S5 ROM] Blekota v10 vs Sensation v7

Please help in choosing rom
I do not know who is the best rom s5?
I use the phone to the application (fb, snapchat, Youtube, sms, network) and games
I care that the system has worked very quickly to all the applications opened immediately.
I am anxious to challenging game also went without lag.
Which rom will give me what I need?
And if you need a different kernel?
Sorry my English, but I from Polish :>

IMO, if you want speed and great responsiveness, you should stay on 4.3 roms(ArchiDroid 1.x,NeatROM etc). The 4.4.2 are ports from note 2 and them are not as fast and as stable as the stock based roms, but this is only my opinion

Hi
Just Install arter97 rom = Back to n00t
hello friend
i tried a lot of roms based on 4.4.4 and 4.4.2 ports they are all laggy and unusable at all trust me
i'd say efeXTREME Lite-ROM S5 is best because it based on 4.3 rom (less lag, less ram usage, faster and more stable)

or if you want a really fast stable rom go for NeatRom 4.3 v8.2(latest build)

What's the "smoothest" custom ROM for the E970?

Hey guys, looking to flash my stock AT&T E970 to a custom ROM. I've done some research and it seems the two most popular are the KK 4.4.2 versions of CM (CM 12.0) and Liquid Smooth.
I'm looking for these things in this priority:
1) Most important is that the ROM is reliable, stable, and bug free.
2) Also important is that the ROM opens apps/browses the web quickly and smoothly without a lot of delay.
3) Least important are the total features and how current the OS.
So basically, if I have to run an older version of Android that's reliable and smooth, I would prefer that over a newer version.
With that criteria in mind, what do you guys think is the best custom ROM for the E970? Appreciate the input.

EpicROM vs Xiaomi EU ROM

Hi guys,
I have a Redmi Note 4 MTK and this is the first time I will be using a custom ROM on this device. The reason I want to switch to a custom ROM is because I am facing huge battery drains overnight (approx. 40%~60%) with the stock MIUI ROM.
Between the EpicROM and Xiaomi EU ROM, which one is better and recommended?
Thanks!

I highly doubt that the stock ROM is responsible for such a high battery drain. Probably one of your apps is the reason.
Xiaomi EU ROMs are based on China Stable and China Developer ROMs. They remove some bloat ware (like most Google Apps) and some MIUI Apps which you can simply download from the PlayStore if needed.
Epic ROM is always based on Developer ROMs and has more Modifications/Tweaks.

Hmm, seems like EpicROM would be a better option for me then.
I still get the same battery drain overnight even after factory resetting the phone and not installing any apps. I think my battery issue is caused by the phone not entering deep sleep.
I've been having lots of issues with my model. I plan to upgrade to the new Redmi Note 5 Pro once it is launched in my country.

Poco F1 - MIUI vs. Custom Rom

I just got my Poco F1 and before I migrate everything over, I was wondering if I should go to the effort of installing a custom ROM (where I understand there to be unlock ir issues), or just get used to miui (looks ok, just has lots of mi stuff I will never use)? I feel like I can get used to it if I install the Evie launcher, but was just wondering what setups others have tried in the forum. I think if I did go for a ROM, I'd probably try RR/Lineage (worked nicely on my note 4).
Would there be any huge benefits of a custom ROM over miui except for preference? I've installed custom ROMs for years to get additional functionality, but I think miui looks like it could suffice.
Any advice would be great
Hi,
Your best bet would be to use mi global stable ROM ie. Stock ROM or global beta version (more stable than stock one also called developer ROM) , IMO custom ROMs are generally comes with some bugs , as I had used lots of custom ROMs in past in almost all of my android phones and tablets , custom ROMs always have some bugs in them .
If you have lots of time then you can go for custom ROMs try them and wait till they add some features and then ROM get unstable.
Previously I had Redmi note 3 pro , and flashed almost every nougat, marshmallow and Oreo ROMs but didn't find any stable ROMs that suited my needs ,some caused lots of heat, some of them were lagging, network issues, etc after that I switched to developer ROM of miui and this is the most stable ROM ever (although it's marshmallow) but absolutely no problems whatsoever.
Sorry for my bad English and long post.
Hope it helps.
