Hello everyone,
So my S6 edge back key started acting up couple of weeks ago. After the phone sleeps (not just screen off, after dozing) the back button stops working. After using for a couple of minutes it starts working again. Right now i am using 'all in gestures' as a back key replacement.
All suggestions for a permanent solution are welcome.
Thank you all.

I have seen in some forums some people doing it and not getting the results. I don't want to do a complete reset unless it will fix the problem for sure. I have tried resetting the settings and wiping the cache partition.

Hey all, I've been having this problem for a couple of weeks now. At least a couple of times a day, the soft buttons on my A70 stop working properly. When I hit the menu or home button, it brings down the notification bar, and I can't use back or search buttons. I thought it would go away, but it hasn't. I originally thought that it was the Urukdroid that I was running, so I did a full reinitialization, then reinstalled the os clean. And I still get the same problem.
Has anyone else had the same problem? It's really annoying to have to deal with.
And you did a recalibration via recovery menu??

Yep, try this
i often have this issue on my 101, when it was long at standby, but after a force recalibration did help
Greets,
Lenn
Thx for the responses guys. I tried the recalibration and it seems to be working. I haven't had the problem for the last 2 days. Lets hope that it stays that way.

Have you tried factory resetting your phone yet? just to double check, this lag does not exist any where else right?
to factory reset, turn off phone, when phone is off, press volume UP + lock +home together, then select factory reset.
this should solve your issue, remember to do a back up.
you can also try clearing all your contacts then adding only one in to see whether the lag persists. although i would think a factory reset would be the most appropriate.
hope i helped

Hi I will try thanks for your suggestion.
Mine does and I have done a factory reset. Its just a feature of the S3, You could upgrade to the SGS 2! its much faster
My phone does this too when dialing. I have to dial slowly, wait for a tone after each digit.
Don't know if it's always been like this or just recently. I'm on CM10.
Fortunately dialing manually isn't something I have to do very often.
I also get lag in the dialer loading the recent call tab. Im on beans rom. Shouldnt really see any lag on this phone but its not a deal breaker.
I'm having lag everywhere, especially multi tasking
I am on stock 4.04 and have no dialer lag in buttons or dialing.
Install ExDialer from play store.
Problem solved.

I have lag as well. Not only that, it BUFFERS the dialing. I kept hitting dial on my wife's phone number and nothing was happening. So I kept pressing dial, finally it went thru. I talked for about a minute, hung up, and it then proceeded to dial her 4 or 5 more times. I'd quickly hit hang up and it would dial again. I finally just rebooted the phone.
I'm running stock rooted rom from AT&T

its not just the dialer. sometimes the whole phone will lock up for 20 or 30 seconds. not even hard buttons work. in a few cases ive had to yank the battery.
Dunno then lol, I've never had the dialer lock up on me
I know this is an old post but try this and see if it helps.

Reaching to the XDA family to help me troubleshoot strange issues with my 10.1 WiFi Tab. Starting a couple of months back the tablet hold not come on once i was pressing the power button and I had to hard reboot to getting back on.
I assumed that it's the power management and I turned it off, but the problem persisted. The I could see that it started to hang at the Samsung animation screen with the sound blocking like a bad CD.
I've run a hard reset cleared cache but the problem still present. It's running stock 4.0.4, was never rooted or custom ROM on it since new.
I don't really know what to do next and I'm looking for pointers.
Thanks for any help.

If u have cleared ur sdcard ( wiped it clean ) and are still having these issues...it could be power button related...
I would look and make sure the power button is not sticking...then after that. Make sure you don't have anything corrupted on you're sdcard.
If none of this works....I would root and flash a newer tw based ROM..
Let me know if u need help..
Thanks for your response Gil81. When I performed the factory reset or wiped the scard clean. The button it's not sticky and it function properly.
I'm thinking it might be battery related but not sure.
Any good rom's that you recommend?

Im having the same problem. I emailed samsung about it and they emailed me back with a bunch of instructions on how to update the security. I followed the instructions then tried to screenshot and the same message popped up. Palm swipe wont even let me activate it. The pin doesnt work. And holding the power button and the home button doesnt work either.
I have a stock LG Power. I recently factory reset my phone. After I finished the initial setup, my home and recent app buttons didn't work, and my notification bar wouldn't pull down. I researched it a little and found out that the reason was because the phone was still stuck in setup mode. So I force closed the Lgsetup, and everything worked except the home button. So, I rebooted the phone. Now it just brings up the setup every time the phone reboots. Everything is still entered, I don't have to do anything other than hit next. I don't know what else to do, help?
Did you ever get any help
