So i wanted to root my Galaxy S6 and found a tutorial.
My smartphone was 6.0.1 and the modellnumber was GM-G920F
I installed the SpaceX-Kernel_MM_RC2.1_G920F kernel on "Ap" in Odin,
after that the TWRP 3.0 also on "Ap" in odin.
I started it and the root was sucessfull but after i restarted i was stuck in bootloop.
Read somewhere online that i should wipe all data so it could recover to stock version ( i know i where stupid on that moment but i panicked), and i did it.
The only thing that was left on my handy is twrp, the normal down+home buttin odin mode doesn't work anymore.
Only option was to reboot into download mode in TWRP. I downloaded the 1,8 Gba stock md5 version for Galaxy S6 and tried to install it with odin. Sadly it stops every time after "hidden image" it fails.
I hope someone can help me.
(sry for bad english, isn't my native languange)
I remember having the same problem but i am now away from home and don't have access to my laptop and files. There is a file that you need to unpack from the stock version and upload using odin. I can help you in a few days but I'm sure someone else will.come through in the meantime

The stock version is a single md5, how can i unpack that special file? Would be nice if u can do that but i'm still hoping that someone in the meantime would help me.

Hello everyone. I bricked my US Galaxy Player 4.0 after trying to install a certain ROM for it.
i visited this page:

for the stock rom and tried to flash the PIT file along with a ROM's PDA file. All i keep getting when i try to reboot it is the Samsung logo followed by the image i'm going to attach to this.
I can get into download mode and everything, i think it's just a matter of having the right files to flash, etc. Can anyone help me out?

follow the proper instructions in that link with the proper files for the US version, when using those files to recover you use Heimdall not ODIN, also make you have a good backup of your EFS.tar or you'll be like me after screwing around with the CM7 beta's and not have a lockscreen or powermenu.
Simple flashing the PIT and the "stock" .tar via Odin will NOT work, I assume your trying to use Odin because you say "with a ROM's PDA file" and there is no PDA box if you are doing what that link says to do for the US version.
That's exactly how I bricked my Galaxy Player 4. Except that I can't enter recovery or download mode. I have to enter download mode with Adam's Resurrector. I used Heimdall with those files and I keep getting error: failed to receive response. So I have no way to revive my player.

yea, he should do it at first after flashing right kernel and rom, factory reset, format cache, clean dalvik and fix permissions, if not through CWM, just manualy (adb console)
Mine is hard bricked, but I can still get into download mode with the resurrector. But when I try to flash the correct rom and kernel, I get the following error in Heimdall: "kernel upload failed", anyone how to fix this?
Thats just soft bricking ur fine go back to stock start over find the stock tar files

Hi there,
I may have softbricked my i9300 S3 after failing to flash MIUI. I had the phone rooted already with custom recovery installed.
CWM 6.0.1.2. A friend recommended the recovery after he successfully installed it on his S3. I was running Android 4.1.2
so no Knox problems hopefully. I downloaded the latest MIUI rom for my phone directly from the official website and used the CWM
to try and flash it. My phone was already rooted at that stage and I had wiped cache and reset the phone prior to the flash attempt.
Unfortunately it gave me a Status 7 error. Even after I unrooted and rerooted my phone the error still remained. I read somewhere else
that this happens sometimes and so I edited the Updater-Script as suggested elsewhere and deleted the section pertaining to the
Verification process. I double checked I had the right ROM too and proceeded to wipe and flash again. It seemed to take and the phone
restarted and I was met with the MIUI language selection menu. However, when i tried to select English, the whole thing just froze and switched
off and restarted itself. But this time the screen went all weird and fuzzy and wouldnt boot back to MIUI interface. I tried to boot into recovery but with no luck. I have tried to reflash the recovery also with no luck. I have tried other versions of CWM alos without luck. Tried TWRP and also no luck. I have used both the 3.07 and the 1.85 version of ODIN with no luck. The flash would fail with either a PIT error or a COM port error. But I have all the necessary drivers installed. I have Kies but dont run it at the same time. The Emergency Firmware something also doesnt seem to work.
I have pictures of the various errors and such and can provide dropbox links if required
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks!
Original Firmware
If I were you, I would go to Download Mode and Flash the Original Firmware from Samsung. Download it from the Sammobile Website and after you successfully installed it try it again.
Like Tkkg1994 said above download the Samsung firmware and use Odin to install it through download mode.
You were having a "Status 7" error when initially flashing miui because your CWM recovery was not the latest...download the latest cwm recovery (6.48.something not sure??) Then flash miui and hopefully you shouldn't have any problems.

Yes that's correct. Because of this I would do all things to get a normal S3 without root. That in download mode it shows Original and 0 flashs. Than I would download Philz latest Touch Recovery, clean to install a new rom, download the ROM again, maybe there is a fault, than install it again and root it later, not than.
Hope I could help
Thanks guys! I think that was the general consensus then. I'm trying to follow this guide here
http://unbrick.itcse.com/unbrick-soft-bricked-samsung-galaxy-s3-i9300/
But when I download the Original 4.1.2 ROMS they dont have all the mentioned csc files nor do they have any PIT files in them either.
The only file included in the ZIP was a MD5 file which i guess is the PDA file.
Regardless, I'll give it a go. I've found some newer CWM recoveries but they seem to be IMG files instead of ZIP or MD5.
Any idea how to convert it. I'm getting the file directly from the CWM ROM MANAGER website.
Thanks for all the help again!

Thanks man but I live in Taiwan so selected Taiwan.
I downloaded this one

and also another one but both did not have the PIT file.
When I try to use ODIN 3.09 it says fail due to THERE IS NO PIT PARTITION.
There is only one file thats supposed to be for PDA i guess.
I have tried older ODIN 1.85 too. NO PIT PARTITION ERROR
Help?

Extract the file inside the ZIP File. Than go to odin and on Odin3.09 select AP! Not PIT. This works!
Yes Sir Thanks but I was doing that before. When I unzip there is 2 files.
One is MD5 file and the other one is SS_DL.dll file
I loaded it in AP slot in ODIN 3.09 and ODIN 1.85
Still gives PIT Partition Error!
Is there any PIT file that I can use that wont brick my phone??
I really dont want to brick this phone!

You don't brike your phone this way. I never select the SS_DL.dll file. You just need the MD5 file and do this in AP. I do some research on that but it should work
Yes thanks man. Even Samsung Official readme says that I should do it that way but I still get PIT error when I load the .tar file in the zip.
If someone can link me a working .tar file with PIT as well I would greatly appreciate it!
Thank you all!

Maybe flash a Philz Touch recovery first. Here is a link:
HTML:
https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/i9300/philz_touch_6.48.4-i9300.zip.md5/
After that try again with the md5 from Sammobile
Thanks man. That one failed too. Some kind of binary error. I tried numerous other versions from the site
https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/i9300/
Only the .tar ones load but when I start to flash it, the same PIT Partition error comes up.
I appreciate any and all help!

UPDATE
Turns out that my S3 had a faulty eMMC chip and had to have the chip and the motherboard replaced.
NOTE TO OWNERS OF 2012 MODEL I9300 GALAXY S3:
I did not know this before I had the problem but there is apparently an APP on the PLAY STORE called eMMC Brickbug App.
That will apparently check your eMMC status. Since I was not aware of this app beforehand I cannot say for sure if this app
does or does not work. However I previously owned and since gave away a 2013 late model Galaxy S3 which had no issues
whatsoever. From all the details that I have read, it seems that most 2012 models of the i9300 are more susceptible to this kind
of problem. If you own a 2012 model please take extra care when flashing any type of software, even if its original from Samsung!
Finally thanks to all the Posters who have attempted to help me out. I'm sure that all of your suggestions would have fixed the issue had my
phone not been hard bricked in the first place.

Yes of course. Everything is fine and it does the first steps but it fails at writing the nand. Does anyone have a PIT file? Maybe that way it can be fixed. I think the pit is wrong and Odin addresses a wrong area of the nand memory.

Damn, i have the same issue, after flashing the TWRP recovery image with Flashify, my phone is stuck at the splash screen "Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge", i tried to flash the root file with the stock recovery (the 920f one), and my phone doesn't boot... So i also tried to flash a stock firmware through Odin and i have the nand fail error ! Hope that we'll have a solution quickly.
Maybe there is a way to read the nand structure of 920x. That might help solving the problem.

It's the demo version for the Edge or for the normal S6 ?
You need to flash the right firmware for the right version through Odin.
do you guys tried odin the stock recovery 1st?
Where can I find the stock recovery?

Ok for what its worth it:
the follwoing files can write the nand:
CF-Auto-Root-zeroflte-zerofltexx-smg920f.tar.md5
twrp-2.8.6.0-zerofltespr.img.tar
But the phone doesnt go into recovery, eventhough the setup processes is successful.
The following files however, can not write to nand and fail:
G920FXXU1AOD9_G920FOXA1AOD9_G920FXXU1AOD9_HOME.tar.md5
G920F-XXU1AOD9-BOOTLOADER.tar.md5
Maybe it helps a little.
But the phone cannot boot anything but the download mode.

now does those files compatible with your phone? I know u said you have galaxy the 920x (the demo version) but I really can't tell you does those files work with your phone or not, may be not that's why your phone is soft brick right now.
Maybe but the first file I flashed and which made the phone stuck at the logo was the root file. I tried the other files to solve the problems. But still usually it should let me flash a original file from Samsung servers but it doesn't. Nand write error.

I have the same with my G925F, used the howto-flash-g92xf-and my phone doesn't boot only the splash screen
download kies 3 and then plug your device in, go to tools at the top and then firmware upgrade and initialisation, enter sm-g925f in the model number and then when it asks for your serial number then enter it from the back of the phone. (its in really faint writing) then follow the onscreen instructions
sometimes people have select reactivation lock in Samsung account and that block flash

You can try this guys, It worked for me, but the "secret codes" on phone app won't work (doesnt for me). If anyone find a way to solve this, it would be great!!!

Hi! So friend 1 had asked me to help him root and flash CM on his S3 and I gladly helped. We were having a tough time doing it although I did it quite easily on friend 2's s3. Friend 3 chipped in to help us out by asking us to use Kingroot and let it root the S3. I thought it was ok and we let it do its thing. After it was "rooted" we tried flashing CM. There was an error during the process and it said it couldn't read the binary or something like that. I then wiped /system through TWRP thinking that it would revert everything back to stock. Well, obviously it wiped Android. I am so bad with Samsung phones xD Unfortunately, I did get ahead of myself and did not backup the phone when it still had Touchwiz. Good thing is, I can still access TWRP and download mode. I've already downloaded a stock rom for the s3. Now, how do I flash it? Are there any other solutions?
Thanks
EDIT: I, of course, have Odin and through download mode, would happily flash the stock rom mentioned above. However, Odin only accepts certain types of files such as .tar and .md5 files. Are there any websites that host stock roms ending in .tar or .md5?
Download stock rom from sammobile.com. The downloaded stock rom was compressed with winrar. Extract the downloaded file, you will get .md5 file. Put your phone into download mode connect your mobile to pc. open odin click pda select extracted .md5 file click start wait for 5 min after flashing complete odin will show pass. Unplug your mobile from pc. Goto recovery mode wipe data then reboot system. first boot will take 10 min.
Hey guys,
So I tried to root my S6 Edge and it got stuck on startup, I tried flashing back to the stock ROM, for the SMG-925F, which is the phone I have. Odin fails when flashing the rom. On my phone it says SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: , BINARY: 2.
I would really appreciate help as I just got this phone and it is quite frustrating.
Thanks for all the great work you guys do.
Do you have a custom recovery installed?
If so, upload zipped ROM via USB (MTP or USB host) boot to recovery, flash a 5.0.1 ROM from there, flash supersu afterwards and reboot system.
If no custom recovery , you can still try Samsung KIES software and use emergency recovery,
Hey. I have fixed my issue. I extracted my stock rom to a folder, deleted hidden.img/cm.bin/modem.bin and it let me use it. Can anyone explain why this worked? Thanks

The reason you probalby got stuck in starting screen is because you did not unlock the bootloader from developer setting which will cause it not to boot. But for the second part I don't know why odin does this; it seems like extracting the package let's you install the things that are actually needed.
