This error is generally caused by the updater script in the ROM itself. You may have to update your firmware prior to being able flash ROM. Updated firmware is found in stock software. Example, thisvrom is based on 5.8_16s, but if your device is running 5.6_14s, some of the firmware may need to be upgraded or the updater script may give error 6 in custom recovery.
Rom V2 will be released! Rom V2 is based on stock rom 19S-CN. It goes very smoot, multi languages and stable. Battery's life is very good. Fingerprint isn't very good.

Flashed today, and working great so far!
Hi, thanks a lot for creating this, it seems to be the only custom rom on 19s atm. Its running great, and I got an even better antutu score then I did on the previous rom I was using.

Just recently rooted my phone (Samsung Galaxy S3 I747M running on Sasktel Carrier) and i installed the Liquid Smooth custom rom after backing up and i am currently missing many apps including the play store. This is my first time installing a custom rom and everything went well but as i booted my phone up i noticed that in the apps drawer i only have a small amount of apps. Phone works but when i press browser a screen flashes but nothing happens. I cannot wipe cache because i have had a problem with flashing CWM Recovery (i used Rom Manager to flash it and install custom rom), it does not open for me and i always get the stock android recovery. So i was wondering if there is any solution to either flashing CWM Recovery or getting default apps back.
Any help would be very appreciated
Thank you!
You gotta flash gapps. Some ROMs don't come with gapps pre installed.
Find the one that says "only for 4.2.1"
Try
this
Flash it via custom recovery like CWM.

Hi,
How to install a KitKat Based Light Weight ROM such as AOSP v 1.8 on the ROW Model of Lenovo P780 8GB RAM which is currently rooted, running SLXROM v25e with TWRP Recovery?
There are a bunch of ROMs which are now being developed only for the KIT (CN) Version (for example AOSP 1.8) and the information about converting an 8GB RAM ROW Version to KIT (CN) Version is scattered and it is not clear whether it is possible?
In addition, there seems to be a ROM based on Android L and that's also developed for the KIT (CN) base. - has anyone given it a try?
Most of the development is happening on Russian Forums and the procedure to adopted is not entirely clear even when translated to English
So, here are a few queries which I'm looking to clarify and consolidate through this Q&A thread:
1. Are there any AOSP based KITKAT (4.4) ROMs available for Lenovo P780 ROW 8GB Model?
2. If not, then to install these ROMs, we need to first convert the device from ROW to CN. I'm guessing that the conversion can only be done flashing the ROM using SP Tools. Is that correct?
3. I'm also guessing that a Chinese Stock ROM cannot be flashed on the 8GB RAM ROW device because the Chinese Stock ROMs were developed for 4GB RAM and doing this could cause bootloops and other issues in partitioning. Correct?
4. What is the best way to convert a ROW Version to KIT (CN) Version especially for P780 8GB RAM device, with root and TWRP Recovery?
Although the community for 8GB RAM P780 users may not be as large as the 4GB RAM Model, it's very much in existence and the number of users adopting the 8GB RAM device is expected to be higher recently.
Regards
GxxA
In FAQ section of custom roms based on KitKat 4.4.2 says that if you have 4gb, you need first to install XVibe v3, than throw TWRP install custom rom...About 8gbROW version says:
"Поставить любую официальную китайскую прошивку через флеш тул(Рекомендуется для аппаратов 8GB)- придется подкидывать рекавери из XVIBE0.3 перед прошивкой."
If I understand this right, you need to flash stock chinese rom for 8gb with changed stock recovery with recovery from XVibe rom (twrp), than flash custom rom (AOSP; Android L...)
You can always ask on Lenovo Russia forum using google translate and original english question, they will anwser...
P.S. I have 4GB ROW, so I'm not 100% sure about any of your question...
Dear All -
OK... Here's my first attempt.
1. Installed USB Drivers, SP Flash Tool Driver, Used the SP Flash Tool to Write P780_S308_130814 (Chinese Stock ROM) with "Firmware -> Upgrade" option -- Success
Am assuming now my phone is successfully converted from ROW to CN (KIT). I checked available storage, it reflected 8GB, so it's good.
2. Did Framaroot with SuperSU, Installed MobileTools, Updated Recovery to TWRP 2440 (p780-twrp-en-asia-recovery.img) -- Success
This was done to install the X-VIBE ROM.
3. Installed X-VIBE ROM (clean_x-vibe) as suggested by using the TWRP Restore feature -- Success
Was able to successfully boot into X-VIBE ROM as well.
4. After installing the X-VIBE ROM, went back into Recovery, Flashed with AOSP 4.4.2 v.1.8.zip, Applied Wipe Dalvik/Cache and Rebooted.
!! At this point, the device went into Bootoop at Start Screen !!
Just Reset the Phone and Reflashed a Stock ROM with SP Flash Tool once again and everything is back to normal as it was...
But still want to figure out why did the Bootloop occur and how to get pass through to install AOSP 4.4.2 v 1.8 on my 8GB P780 Device. Any suggestions?
Well, had a breakthrough today and was successful in Flashing the AOSP 4.4.2 ROM on Lenovo P780 8GB RAM ROW Version.
1. Installed USB Drivers, SP Flash Tool Driver, Used the SP Flash Tool to Write P780_S308_130814 (Chinese Stock ROM) with "Firmware -> Upgrade" option -- Success
2. Did Framaroot with SuperSU, Installed MobileTools, Updated Recovery to TWRP 2440 (p780-twrp-en-asia-recovery.img) -- Success
3. Installed X-VIBE ROM (clean_x-vibe) as suggested by using the TWRP "Restore" feature (Do Not USE Install!) -- Success
Here comes the tricky part, earlier, I tried flashing AOSP 4.4.2 ROM directly over the X-VIBE ROM without cleaning it up. That's where the problem was. Instead,
4. Logon to TWRP Recovery, Choose Wipe and Execute ALL Wipe Commands (Dalvik, Cache, Factory Reset, Internal, Secure, etc.). -- Success
(Note: Do Not Wipe the External Memory as it's your SD Card.)
5. Now, Go Back and Flash the AOSP 4.4.2 ROM, Apply Wipe Dalvik/Cache and Reboot -- Success
Your Lenovo P780 system should now be running 4.4.2. I used AOSP 1.7 Version as it seemed much more stable compared to AOSP 1.8 (AOSP 1.8 has some bugs - Front Camera causes exception, issues with Google Apps in Communicating with Google Servers, etc.). AOSP ROM is light weight and has a buttery User Experience compared to the Sticky UI in Stock Kitkat ROMs.
Few Suggestions:
Replace the Modem that comes with AOSP 1.8 with the Stock Modem of your choice. I installed the Modem that came with S220 ROW (modem_P780_V104_S220). This worked better for me!
I intuitively turned OFF "Wi-Fi optimization" as I felt it causes battery to drain faster for some reason! I've been using this ROM for over 10 hours with Wifi turned ON and the battery has hardly reduced by 5 - 6%.
Another suggestion that I adopted was to install Xposed Installer and install Gravity Box for KK - this provides a lot more customization to help your productivity.
If you ever felt you wanted to revert to the ROW version, just flash the Stock ROW Version ROM (P780_8G_ROW_S124_140403) through SP Flash Tool.

GxxA.

I'm assuming you have stock unrooted firmware? The easiest way is to install philz kernel from stock(3e) recovery, then reboot to recovery and flash a newer recovery that is capable of flashing the newer versions of android. If you just want to install CM12.1 straight away just back up your efs then:
1. Download the DVLSH kernel .zip from HERE
2. Download the philz 6.48.4 from HERE
3. Reboot into stock recovery, flash the DVLSH kernel(if your firmware build is DVL**, you could probably reboot into system no problem)
4. Reboot to recovery(not system), flash the philz 6.48.4
5. Reboot to recovery(not system), follow the steps for installing in the CM12.1 thread after backing up etc
Keep the DVLSH kernel. Once you install CM, you will have CM recovery, which only allows you to flash signed .zips(which this one is)
EDIT - The philz 6.48.4 is also signed and is probably the more useful one to keep, being compatible with the newer roms

You could try doing a full wipe and installing again. Try installing the rom, reboot to system, then let the system settle for a few minutes, then going back to recovery and install gapps.
Which gapps did you use? I would try the pico gapps from
The alternatives are:
1. You could download the stock rom for your region from sammobile.com or one of the other websites that provide stock roms, then install with odin
2. You could read up on some of the older custom kitkat or jellybean roms that are more stable and try those.
[url]http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-derivatives
A couple that come to mind are Slimsaber 4.4.4 by Fusionjack and the latest unofficial CM11 by Lanchon
FYI if your priority is stability, it's probably best to steer clear of lollipop roms atm. They all have their issues

All you need to do is
1. Flash either of the philz kernels
2. Turn phone off and reboot to recovery
3. Full wipe, flash slimsaber(and 4.4.x gapps if you want)
4. Reboot to system
You don't need the slim kernel

Coming from RomAur 8.1. System gets stuck for a while on the Samsung logo after the install. Then it appears to load "299 apps" but the screen just turns dark. Restarting after 20 mintutes of waiting and same results. Tried to re-install again, and still the same issue.
Followed directions below
2 - Installed TWRP
3 - Copy rom to sdcard
4 - Enter to recovery
5 - Make a backup
6 - Wipe before installing the ROM on TWRP(DALVIK-CACHE,SYSTEM,CACHE,DATA)
7 - Install Rom
8 - Reboot
9 - Enjoy
Well you skipped step 1!!
1 - Installed Stock ( TESTED ONLY FROM N960FXXS2ARK2 FW)
this means you need to have flashed N960FXXS2ARK2 firmware base.
i suspect that flashing only BL and CP of that FW should also be enought.

Thanks, I was doing that step now. I wanted to make everyone aware of this as it seems it was only tested from N960FXXS2ARK2 and maybe others were looking into upgrading straight from 8.1

well its part of the install instructions so..lol no need to prove that it dont work if you don't follow step 1.
but id be interested that you only flash booloader and modem of that build and see if it's enough.
so unzip:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603846872
and just flash bl and cp with odin.

I wasn't trying to prove anything, I wanted to test coming from 8.1. I wasn't blaming anyone and there's not a disclaimer not to do it, just that it wasn't tested.
I already flashed BL and CP and just flashed the ROM again. It's doing it's thing, and I'll provide an update after it's done.

maybe you weren't made aware but all beta pie builds whether custom or stock require that base to be flashed. its pretty common knowledge, thus why i pointed out the futility of just dirty flashing the new rom. anyways... what's done is done .
Actually no, I wasn't aware. I'm a noob.
CL/BL doesn't appear to have worked. I will flash the full stock ROM now and then try again.

Flashed N960FXXS2ARK2 fully and tried reflashing this ROM, but having the same issues. Re-downloading just to make sure it's not related to a corrupt download...
after flashing base did you:
flash twrp
booted to twrp and formatted data
rebooted again and wipe everything like OP suggested
then flash rom?

Correct. Lost TWRP after flashing N960FXXS2ARK2 and had to flash it again, then followed those same steps.

Might not of helped that guy but certainly helped me.. Thank you
Mine is doing the same. I came from DevBase Oreo and wiped fully (system, caches and data) however it will not boot.
Only says android is starting with a amount of apps and then black screen and reboots to recovery.
Wierd thing is, it already has ARK2 latest BL and CP. And the entire ROM is based on ARK2. So i doubt that's part of the problem honestly.

I fully Odin flashed ARK2 and wiped everything, reflashed TWRP and installed RomAur 3.0. I'll see if that boots

Thank You! I am glad I wasn't going crazy. I tried flashing and re-flashing three times but would never boot up. Went back to 8.1 without any issues. I do not want to get too comfortable with 8.1 again as I know I'll be switching to this as soon as it's working for me
If I have lineageos 16 installed, would I be able to just clean flash any of the following modified stock rom through twrp and get the phone working? Link:
https://mi-globe.com/miui-firmware-rom-builder-features/74/
Do i need to follow any other procedure?
short answer yes!
because (long answer) the link you mentioned its modified stockrom only and gives you more control to add/remove componant! it comes with its own vendor firmware!
however ALWAYS TAKE BACKUP!
Just tried this and it works great was on custom ROM but the luncher kept crashing and it became unstable but now back on stock and loving it..........
