How to install Viper4Android :
-Install Viper4Android v2.6.0.5 from xda labs.
-Install Audio Modification Library module from magisk.
DONE
Sound boost? Curious. What does that do exactly?
Also, disabling signature check means we can install apks with different signatures as updates, correct?
Thanks for the rom btw
Sweet! Kudos
First Note9 Pie Custom Stock released on XDA, with RC. Nice work!! Downloading...
Coming from RomAur 8.1. System gets stuck for a while on the Samsung logo after the install. Then it appears to load "299 apps" but the screen just turns dark. Restarting after 20 mintutes of waiting and same results. Tried to re-install again, and still the same issue.
Followed directions below
2 - Installed TWRP
3 - Copy rom to sdcard
4 - Enter to recovery
5 - Make a backup
6 - Wipe before installing the ROM on TWRP(DALVIK-CACHE,SYSTEM,CACHE,DATA)
7 - Install Rom
8 - Reboot
9 - Enjoy
Well you skipped step 1!!
1 - Installed Stock ( TESTED ONLY FROM N960FXXS2ARK2 FW)
this means you need to have flashed N960FXXS2ARK2 firmware base.
i suspect that flashing only BL and CP of that FW should also be enought.

Thanks, I was doing that step now. I wanted to make everyone aware of this as it seems it was only tested from N960FXXS2ARK2 and maybe others were looking into upgrading straight from 8.1

well its part of the install instructions so..lol no need to prove that it dont work if you don't follow step 1.
but id be interested that you only flash booloader and modem of that build and see if it's enough.
so unzip:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603846872
and just flash bl and cp with odin.

I wasn't trying to prove anything, I wanted to test coming from 8.1. I wasn't blaming anyone and there's not a disclaimer not to do it, just that it wasn't tested.
I already flashed BL and CP and just flashed the ROM again. It's doing it's thing, and I'll provide an update after it's done.

maybe you weren't made aware but all beta pie builds whether custom or stock require that base to be flashed. its pretty common knowledge, thus why i pointed out the futility of just dirty flashing the new rom. anyways... what's done is done .
Actually no, I wasn't aware. I'm a noob.
CL/BL doesn't appear to have worked. I will flash the full stock ROM now and then try again.

Flashed N960FXXS2ARK2 fully and tried reflashing this ROM, but having the same issues. Re-downloading just to make sure it's not related to a corrupt download...
after flashing base did you:
flash twrp
booted to twrp and formatted data
rebooted again and wipe everything like OP suggested
then flash rom?

Correct. Lost TWRP after flashing N960FXXS2ARK2 and had to flash it again, then followed those same steps.

Might not of helped that guy but certainly helped me.. Thank you
Mine is doing the same. I came from DevBase Oreo and wiped fully (system, caches and data) however it will not boot.
Only says android is starting with a amount of apps and then black screen and reboots to recovery.
Wierd thing is, it already has ARK2 latest BL and CP. And the entire ROM is based on ARK2. So i doubt that's part of the problem honestly.

Thank You! I am glad I wasn't going crazy. I tried flashing and re-flashing three times but would never boot up. Went back to 8.1 without any issues. I do not want to get too comfortable with 8.1 again as I know I'll be switching to this as soon as it's working for me

Just recently rooted my phone (Samsung Galaxy S3 I747M running on Sasktel Carrier) and i installed the Liquid Smooth custom rom after backing up and i am currently missing many apps including the play store. This is my first time installing a custom rom and everything went well but as i booted my phone up i noticed that in the apps drawer i only have a small amount of apps. Phone works but when i press browser a screen flashes but nothing happens. I cannot wipe cache because i have had a problem with flashing CWM Recovery (i used Rom Manager to flash it and install custom rom), it does not open for me and i always get the stock android recovery. So i was wondering if there is any solution to either flashing CWM Recovery or getting default apps back.
Any help would be very appreciated
Thank you!
You gotta flash gapps. Some ROMs don't come with gapps pre installed.
Find the one that says "only for 4.2.1"
Try
this
Flash it via custom recovery like CWM.

LIFE!
IT'S WHAT YOU MAKE OUT OF IT!
Just flashed 6.0.1 and am now seeing the battery percentage in values way above 100%. For example, my battery percentage is at 4,110%. Is anyone else seeing this?
Yeah I'm getting the same issue also.
Sent from my Nexus 9 using Tapatalk
Is this happening on a stock and unrooted device ???
Mine is stock, rooted.
Sent from my Nexus 9 using Tapatalk
Every report I've read about this issue is due to someone not running the stock kernel. Does this apply to you ?
Reverting back to the stock kernal or installing a kernal that's been updated to support 6.0.1 seems to have solved the problem.

before updating I was on elementalx
This has to do with the boot.img. I'm using chainfires modified one, but it is for MRA58N. Does anyone have the modified one for MMB29K? I might have to look into modifying myself but I've not done this before...

Makes sense. My N6 was doing this with a rooted kernel, and the problem went away when I flashed back to stock.
According to most accounts of this problem, the user forgot to flash the appropriate boot.img, vendor.img, or system.img before flashing the kernel/ROM.
So I have a solution for my case!
I was originally on Stock 6.0 unencrypted and rooted, and running a custom Kernel (ElementalX). Then I flashed the stock 6.0.1 System.img and encountered this exact problem, and even updating my custom kernel to the latest (and supported) version did not fix things.
So this is what I did:
- Flash the stock 6.0.1 Boot.img (DON'T boot into System after this or it may Force-Encrypt, if you care about that).
- RE-Flash the stock 6.0.1 System.img
- Boot into your Custom recovery (TWRP for me)
- Flash SuperSU v2.61 - this is an experimental version but seems to work (I also had to ADB Push this zip file since I didn't want to boot into System yet)
- Flash the latest EX Kernel N9-4.05 (Also ADB Pushed this zip)
- Reboot to System
And that's it! all working back to normal now. I realise that most people won't need to go through all that trouble, but if you're like me and didn't want to do a clean install, or wanted to remain rooted/unencrypted/using a custom kernel, then this might help you!

Worked for me as well!
This worked perfect for me. I didn't need to reflash the system image either. Just the stock boot.img, then supersu, then ex kernel. All from within TWRP. Then reboot. That battery percentage was driving me nuts though. Thanks.

This error is generally caused by the updater script in the ROM itself. You may have to update your firmware prior to being able flash ROM. Updated firmware is found in stock software. Example, thisvrom is based on 5.8_16s, but if your device is running 5.6_14s, some of the firmware may need to be upgraded or the updater script may give error 6 in custom recovery.

Rom is great. Work fine for me. It is posible to do alphabetically sort on list of apps on leeco launcher? Polish language can be available?
Flashed today, and working great so far!
Hi, thanks a lot for creating this, it seems to be the only custom rom on 19s atm. Its running great, and I got an even better antutu score then I did on the previous rom I was using.

Cześć.
Ten ROM nie ma polskiego?
A podpowiesz, czy ma możliwość robienia zdjęć o wielkości 21 mpx oraz czy działa bez problemu SlowMotion?
I can't seem to be able to install a custom kernel on my s9+ G965F . It's the: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...lopment/kernel-elementalx-1-00-s9-s9-t3767753
The Aroma Installer of the Kernel gives the error:
''Installer Status: 7'' and ''set_perm:some changes failed''
I did successfully installed it (a few hours before) on a stock Rom from Samsung and worked very good (3800 and 9700on geekbench 4).But as the human nature is, I WANTED MORE: a Custom Rom (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...g96xf-fd-n-stock-rom-soldier9312-1-0-t3771346) .It flashed good (just some errors at the end) and rom worked good then I flashed the Elemental Kernel again and got ''Installer Status: 7'' and ''set_perm:some changes failed''.
Now the strange thing is, i restored the twrp backup i did of the stock firmware and then flashed Elemental Kernel again and now the same error ''Installer Status: 7'' and ''set_perm:some changes failed'' appears (even though half an hour before the exact same combination worked).
Note: Between Roms\Kernels I always format everything in twrp with ''yes'' and then also wipe system, date , internal storage , dalvik etc and then flash the oem patch fix with root, and the no-verity zip from jesec.
Note2: installing Busybox (from playstore) also didnt help ..Because in both Kernel install Log and Rom install Log there are some errors about busybox..
I've attached both Logs (from Kernel installation and Rom installation)
What am I doing wrong?
I asked this on the Kernel- and also on the Soldier Custom Rom -Threads and on both Threads they said it does work, lot of people use this combination. But that really doesn't help me..
I've been flashing every galaxy samsungs since s6, so I thought I knew everything(or at least enough) but it seems not..
I would be very grateful for some advice that helps me...
UPDATE:
LOOOOOOOLLLLLL I just re-downloaded the kernel and it works. Boots and cpu frequency at 2.89Ghz . funny cus the same zip on the sd card worked yersterday.. but only the first time..so its like the kernel zip BECAME corrupted in time on the sd card!!!

How to flash:

did you try with the new built ?
For me it worked after the first install but then had died.
Reinstalling I don't have a bootloop but I can't proceed with the install.
I get stuck at the Google assistant - if I don't activate voice it gets stuck in a loop and if I use voice it recognises but does not proceed.
BTW - Is this already gapps or is this linage..?
Still - good to see this progressing and looking forward to some further grey hairs when this gets stuck...

Not sure if it is google apps related
For me nano gaaps and the new build worked perfectly.
I wiped everything except micro sd. Install both at once and reboot without wiping again.
TWRP 3.3.0-0

Update: after rebooting into recovery mode to check the twrp version the systems ends in endless booting
made a wipe again and now it works for now. Won´t rebbot again ..
Yup nano did the trick for me as well.
For now it seem to work...
However - Let's see whether it still works tomorrow...
Tell me, does GPS work?

Yes, it works. But a reboot is not recommended. Need to check the battery drainage
## Hi David ##
Please ask for repair of the * Camera & GPS* - then it will be.
Great news to hear about developing a ROM based on Android 10 on the Note p605. Thanks for your work, as soon as I can I will try it.
Anyone got an idea why palm rejection is not working?
Everytime I place my hand on the screen and try to write in an app (like OneNote, Papyrus, etc...) using the S-Pen, my input is not recognized.
Anyone else with this issue?

Palm rejection works for me. At least in Adobe SketchBook.
What doesn't work is rebooting, which sucks, because AdAway and other tools can't be used.
