I think i have the same problem because phone idle mode uses alot more battery even compared to screen. Atleast according to your screen shot phone idle is the second thing on the list for battery stats. However, for me phone idle is the first on the list regardless of the amount of time i used my phone.
I have tmobile lg g5
I know i wasnt much of a help because i have the same issue

Thx though. Now I know it is not only me.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem ;
I lose 5%/h in IDLE ; Standard Battery Stats accuses "IDLE Phone" or "OS Android".
Amplify (+Xposed) doesn't solve anything, so basically i don't think it's wakelock or alarm issues.
A full wipe + flash doesn't do more.

Phone Idle Battery Drain Issue

So i have been searching for about an hour or so now and can't find a definitive solution to the phone idle problem.
Some people are saying to flash this new .30 radio for gingerbread, which i also searched for and can't seem to find unless im typing in the search wrong.
Some people say to use juggernauts battery fix...but he himself has said all it does is fix the 1% battery mod and does not affect battery life for good or bad.
Has anyone any clue how the hell to fix the phone idle battery drain issue????

Battery fix: flash it, you need correct readings of your battery. After all that, wipe the battery stats through CWM (under advanced) and use the Battery Calibration app.
Idle battery drain: Not necessarily an issue, we're not sure yet.

Is flashing an ATT radio safe? Over the past month i've been reading not to flash ATT radio's???
yeh it's safe...in fact I flashed mine yesterday....but didn't notice any different...I guess I have to get Setcpu...and make some profiles on there....
Whenever you flash a new rom it seems the battery drains fast. I noticed the first day I bought the phone and thought that the battery was worse than my iPhone 4. After a few days, I guess the phone calibrated the battery stats and it got better. The phone idle % will be high if your phone sits on the table more than when you're using it. When I'm using my phone, usually my display it really high and idle isn't even on the list.

I totally agree, but the problem is that the "idle phone" problem hurts my battery so i don't have enough through out the day.
I go to sleep with it fully charged...wake up and its at 70%!!! it should not be like that...especially since i used to be able to go to sleep with it at 100 and then wake up to it at 99 or 98...then get about 30 solid hours out of it with heavy to moderate use...games, email, text, phone calls and internet...
There has got to be something else to it

I had the same problem I tried 3 GB roms all produced same results so..just flashed 1.2.6 via RSD and flashed radio .30 via RSD...now I am getting more then 40+ hours of battery life with moderate and light use...but in idle mode it may drain max. about 1% per hour..btw i don't have setcpu installed..

[Q]Phone Idle 70%??? really? why?

2.3.4 eclipse 1.3 in my situation, so I don't understand what causes such ridiculous Phone Idle percentages, is it from ram being abused, an unreliable connection, android hating?
(everything else is commonly below 10%)
wifi is typically left disabled, and i keep it slightly underclocked
what else android, what else!
I swear...the phone never truly goes into sleep mode...it stays awake for large chunks of time doing god knows what...every other phones battery usage graph I have compared it to looks completely different and only has small tiny lines of awake time...mostly when screen on...my x2 shows huge chunks awake when the screen hasn't even been turned on and data disabled for over 4hrs...I don't understand it. Killing my battery
it's a kernel bug, reboot yer phone immediately after unplugging it, every time. or downgrade to froyo (i got my absolute best battery life from froyo

Me?
Yeah I have been doing that since that fix was posted...it helps with life and awake times but it is still horrific compared to other phones...whether I reboot from power menu..power of/on...or whatever....it needs to be fixed...I don't understand why it does this...im about to delete the things that allow it to communicate with moto databases lol...
compare the battery capacity of other phones, most other phones come with at LEAST an 1800mAH battery, this thing is 1500mAH if you're lucky, couple that with 2.3.4's reporting bug and you end up thinking you're going dead much faster than you actually are.
I spend over half my days hovering at 15% or lower according to the phone, but I've also realized that it lies, alot... like my ex.
what does that actually do? =o
like what if you reboot a couple hours after unplugging?
... Christ what was 2.3.4 for if they didn't even get some of this stuff cleaned up
it prevents the idle process from "running away" when you plug it in it essentially disables the idle process, when it goes to re-enable it, it never stops, it takes up CPU cycles and burns the battery down for no reason and it will do it from the moment you unplug your charger/USB cable until you restart the phone.
why? beats me.
I thought you no longer needed to reboot after unplugging on 2.3.4? I did it every morning on 2.3.3, but stopped after updating to .4
I'm confused with this. Wouldn't a phone idle of 70% mean you the phone has been sitting there not being used?
As far as sleep, i use a cpu monitoring app from time to time and it shows my phone in "deep sleep" for multiple hrs when I'm not using the phone; my phone idle will show an equal high %, too.
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
that list indicates power consumption. if I reboot my phone in the morning, idle stays around 10-15%, if I don't, that number skyrockets 40-45% and by 5 or 6 pm, I'm hunting for a place to plug in.
my biggest boosts in battery life came from turning on "data saver" disabling "background data", anytime you can make the 3g radio shut off, you're saving TONS of power
I also just upgraded to a BH6X battery, it was the ONLY way I could make it through a full day when I was working in Cheyenne, Wyoming (cell service there, not so great) I also use wifi as much as possible 'cause it seems to draw less current.
battery life and signal strength definitely have a correlation. the less signal you have the quicker that battery dies.
also, "SuperDim" (available on the market) is a HUGE battery saver, not to mention the fact that the automatic light sensor just doesn't make the screen dim enough, ever. I kinda miss the semi transreflective screen in my G1, I never had to crank the brightness way up to see that one in broad daylight, made the colors funny but at least it was legible. but that's the price you pay for pixel density
I've never had bad enough battery life to try Juice Defender but my roommate uses it on his bionic and it does pretty well. His only complaint is having to load facebook or his browser twice to get data to come back on.
Sent from my Eclipsed and ICS themed X2.
I am getting amazing battery life! Coming from a myTouch4G which would last maybe half of the day, its amazing!
I was at 51% when I plugged in my phone today. I have been using it all day and pretty extensively.
No juice defender either...
This is a mysterious problem for me also. I could have phone booted
up full charge everything that load's up is started. I could turn on airplane mode not do anything else for the day. (So No data no phones) And every-time I bring up screen I will see the amount of apps running go's up (ghost apps)
battery down & less & less ram available.
Has anyone ever tried to go into Sleep Mode I click it just locks up.
What's This Phone Doing Behind My Back??

If you manually tell your phone to go to sleep, you have to long-press the power button for like 6 seconds to wake it back up.
This bug happens on multiple Motorola phones (bionic and d3). I know for a fact that this has been brought up multiple times to Motorola thru customer complaints, Motorola feedback program and carrier complaints. But for some reason they don't care or feel its a big issue. For issues like this, I wish they would unlock the bootloader.
I just installed this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1246822
Have just been running it for a little bit but what I can see is that it definitely has an impact on battery life (in the good way). My battery seems to be dropping slower.
Thanks to 0vermind two posts above me.
how is the BH6X battery for you?

I cant for the life of me remember but I read somewhere that unchecking the "automatic" setting in "date & time settings" stopped that part from oversyncing and draining battery. I have had mine unchecked for a while and seems to help some. Might be worth a shot. oh I usually 19% +- 1-2% on my phone idle at pretty much all times

That was me in "phone awake" thread.
What it solved for me was the chunks of time phone is awake(when screen has been off) are extremely reduced compared to when the setting is checked.
Only thing is that once in a while(mainly after bootstrapper use or a battery pull) the date/time is messed up. Easily fixed by turning the setting on for 5-15 seconds til it fixes itself and I turn it back off
Ash,
Yea discovered that today when I put in new class 10 16gb sdcard. No worries easy fix like you said super find been using your discovery for a week know working great.

[Q] How to max the battery life ?

Well i just got the LG G3 and am using it on GSM.
prior to using i rooted ,TWRP and loaded jasmine 4.0 , also put in skydragon kernel 2.9.4 s 3.0 had crazy boot times.
I am trying to get the max out of the phone what ive noticed is that the phone just doesn't wanna deep sleep.
I have greenify , xposed (amplify) and noticed the issue of battery being drained when idle , i went to sleep and saw it was at 50% , woke up to 10% battery, my older phones never dropped more than 2% overnight,
To investigate loaded BBS and wakelock detector , nothing that pops up out of the ordinary
So my question is what do you guys do to max the battery outta this , what can i do ? i dont really see any apps causing it to wakeup . suggestions or any would be appreciated
any other stock rom also if you could suggest for battery life ? ive heard good about cloudy 1.2 as well.
I have really gotten great battery life out of sky dragon along with the 3.0.2 SD kernel (kernel is in the orig Dev section). Along with amplify ad greenify.

Are you connected to WiFi when your phone won't deep sleep?
I work from home, so my phone spends 90% of its time on WiFi - I was getting terrible battery drain and only 50% deep sleep on a good day. One day, I left the house and noticed great battery life and plenty of deep sleep on a 4G connection (which is the opposite of what I expected).
After trying nearly everything, I discovered the fix was as a simple as turning on the "Battery Saving for WiFi" setting under Settings -> Wi-Fi -> Advanced Wi-Fi". I've been getting great battery life and deep sleep times when I'm at home now.
Give it a shot and see if it solves your issue.
Also, ever since daylight savings time went into effect, I noticed both my phone and my wife's phone keep randomly changing time zone for no reason. Looks like the phone is struggling to automatically detect the time zone from the carrier and causing battery drain as a result. I disabled the setting to automatically detect the time zone (and manually set it for PDT) and the battery drain stopped on both of our devices. Could be unique to my area but may be something to try as well.

I thought the same as well which is why I discounted this as being a cause for 4 months....I have 15 other android devices and none have exhibited this behavior so I was surprised that such a trivial setting could have had this impact.
To answer your question, I am currently running:
- BeanTowns stock 11B ROM
- SkyDragon 2.9.7 kernel
- Xposed installed with Disabled Services running
- Selected stock apps/services disabled
I don't use greenify/amplify (don't see the need as my average daily drop is anywhere from 1.6% - 2.4%/hour with moderate use).

Battery Life on Exynos S9+ (Unusual Android OS consumption)

I'm getting an appalling battery life on my S9+
The device is a European version with the Exynos CPU, non-rooted (and i don't wish to do so as i do like using the Samsung security features that the device offers)
I've attached a screen grab which was taken right after waking up in the morning. During the night (around 7 hours of sleep) i've lost 14 percent from when i put it away
Any suggestions? I'm really in a loss for what to do other than rooting and modding
PS: Suggestions of the sort like: Turn off AOD or Turn off Sync or Turn off Mobile Data aren't really helpful. I know that these drain battery but the device has these features for a reason and the battery was mostly fine when i purchased it with them on.

I know you didn't want to hear it but AOD will be responsible for most of the drain, I lose < 1% per hour overnight with it off and about 2% with it on. Totally agree about the functionality but I just set my AOD on a timer so it isn't on overnight.
The android system drain isn't unreasonably high given the phone has spent a fair amount of time idle, but you could try is going apps > show system apps > android system > turn off background usage (doesn't break anything that im aware of but will turn back on when the phone is rebooted)
Other things to try is wipe the system cache and turn off wireless device scanning from the location menu
Seems I'll have to test it out. Never before noticed a huge drain from using AOD on my old s7 edge and it's a lovely lovely feature. The Android OS seemed a bit high to me but unsure to why
S9+exynos also here. No issues with batterylife for me
I'm having the same problem. Around 16% lost at night. Maybe the last firmware update is to blame.

As someone pointed out, just disable background activity for Android System and that should do the trick.
I have been running with this option since launch with zero collateral effects; just remember to do this each time you reboot the phone.

You go to Apps and after which Show System Apps - Android System - Battery
You'll see the option there. I tried it for me it did practically nothing. Battery drain for Android System combined with Android OS takes more than 25% according to the battery stats. With a messily 3 hours of screen time including in that an hour of gaming with a 2D freemium game.

Battery Drain and heating after Color OS update for August Security Patch

Does anyone facing this problem of battery drain and heating of device after August Color OS Update.
Standby drain is 4-5 % per hour and screen on time is less than 5 hours.
I checked all the settings uninstalled all apps and checked the network settings, rebooted, checked in airplane mode also but the battery drain is the same.
Even while charging it is going more warm than before. If anyone is facing the issue please respond.
Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has very less reach to people and Oppo is not bothered about its device.

When I got the Mobile the first thing I did was update the patch.....so I am unaware of before and after stuff.....but It got heated only once while downloding and charging simultaneously (41°c). Also it gets a bit heated while charging when the AC / fan in the room is off(I guess that's normal).
From my past mobile experiences, a reset could help u out (take backup of data before reset).
U could also check in Battery setting which app is consuming more power.

Can u check what is your standby battery drain, my previous Oneplus 5 has drain less than 1% per hour with AOD but Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is taking 4% per hour and that is huge.

Yes and daily its different app and just which app i use more thats only showing
And also when i check whole days power consumption , highest is whatsapp with 11 percent and the total mah used is 218mah for a whole day.
So, if 218 percent is 11 percent a whole day and consider i charged once fully, total for 100 percent is around 2000mah.
So where the rest 2000 mah is going, and its going when the screen is off.
I dont know what to do.
I have worse problem than this. Battery is draining at 10% per hour rate. And strange thing is that even if I switch off mobile, it will drain battery with same rate. May be hardware problem.
