Hi Everyone,
I'm just wondering if I have an issue or not. I've already went through one G5 which was severely overheating and was giving me less than 2 hours of screen on time within the first week. I'm on my second G5 now and have had it a little over a week, but the screen on time seems to be dropping drastically. When I first got it, I have a SOT of 5+ hours. Then it got progressively worse until yesterday it barely made it to 3 hours and today it was under 3 hours. I'm a fairly heavy user, but it seems like I can literally watch the battery percentage tick by when I have the screen on. In fact, it seems like it's markedly worse when the battery is under 50%. For example, today at 50% I had a SOT of about 2 hours 15 minutes, and then for the last 50% it was like 45 minutes TOPS before it was drained. My standby time is absolutely amazing, with it losing less that 1% in five hours.
I just don't know what to do. I have 5 more days before I can exchange it no questions asked. I just see some people with 7+ hours SOT and it seems like mine is heading in the opposite direction.
Cheers,
Bloody
3-4hrs of SOT is average/normal
3 hours of SOT is on par, or very slightly subpar, with other users. Some, like me, get a bit more, but just because i do not use Facebook, or games. You should consider which apps you are using, if there's something always on and in "Sync" it's gonna eat up the battery a bit more. If you game a lot, same. That said, this is not a huge battery, but it should be big enough to get to bed. Can i suggest maybe (i know its obvious...but!) cleaning up the recent apps, taking more care in switching on and off the wifi...this kind of things could get you 30+min more in a day which could be enough to get trough the night.
To answer your question, you probably have not a defective unit. If this SOT time is not even close to what you need, the brightness of the screen poses a big problem for you, and you don't care as much for the awesome camera compartment, or the swappable battery, and you dont hate touchwiz, and you can return it no question asked, the s7edge has better battery time, and higher brightness and saturation.
I average 3 hr SOT. It's normal. Total 13.75 hours on average with 5.5 hrs active.
With the brightness about 30%, I could have about 4 to 5 hours browsing web with wifi...

how long dos your battery last WITH THE SCREEN ON with and without 4g poll
I can't tell you the time without, but I can say 4+ hours with. Wifi/GPS etc. turned off however.
I can get away with charging it every second day with light use.
Now THAT IS an interesting question. Gonna try this next day off rofl.
xD
well reading over all these battery threads they brag nonstop about godlike battery life i highly doubt them and because of their incessant bragging over 2 days of battery doing blah blah people assume something is wrong with their battery. i highly invite them to take this poll and see their actual screen on time they guess that they played for 15 - 30 mins when it was only ten or so , this poll ought to straighten things out so we actually know wether these battery issues are normal for everyone.
This pool is a bit too restricting. There are other things that impact battery life... like screen brightness and haptic feedback to name two.
I can say My phone lasts, every day, from 9am to 2am with moderate use, about 4 hours screen on.
I cant turn off 4g, but on my phone I get 24hrs use with 5hrs screen time with Wifi on 7-8hrs. I use autobrightness, have next to no widgets, and a static wallpaper.
The reviews I have seen make it seem like the battery life should be much better though.

As the lady said in Full Metal Jacket, "Me love you long time."
In all honesty I'm a little disappointed with the battery life on my Atrix. I pretty much bought this phone as a replacement over my iPhone 3GS, because the battery would barley last 2 days with little to no use, but I can't say the Atrix provides much improvement either. With minimal use I'd get around 2 days of battery with my Atrix. Today I charged my phone at 7:30PM and with little use (maybe 20min in total) the battery is at 80% after 10 hours. Either this is normal or mine is faulty, cause the area around near the main front buttons and where the Moto blur logo is on the back constantly gets warm during normal use. I've had the phone for a little over a week now, so if I'm the only one having these issues then maybe I should go to a Bell store and exchange it for a new one.

I've only had one other android phone, and that was an Atrix. I got about 12 hours from each charge and 2 hours screen time--- compared to when I first got it when I got 20 hours and 3 hours screentime.
It seems like this galaxy note is going to be the same way so far -- although i REALLY want to be bale to get 30hrs and 5hrs screen time. Let's see if I can

Wow...Really? I had the Atrix as well and could get well over 30 hours of charge on it after about a year. The first few months I was seeing between 12 and 20 hours. For me it seemed the longer I had it the better the battery life was.
I'd frequently have it unplugged from 6 AM to 1 AM daily and have 60% left. That may be because all my usage came over a consolidated period of time and the rest of the time was light usage.
My first Android phone was the original Droid...I was able to coax around 24 hours out of it...but I was rooted with a custom ROM and a LV overclock kernel for it.
I'm hoping that I can get at least 14 hours with the Note on the same sort of routine...not so much this week because I don't want to put it down! LOL...my usage has gone from Light/Moderate to HEAVY...I fully expect to be able to hit this after a few more charge cycles (provided my usage goes back to normal...with the screen size I can see myself using this more than the Atrix, so we'll just have to see).
Over 20 hours of use with wifi, Bluetooth, LTE, auto-brightness, web browsing, video playing, texting, emailing and forum posting.
Yea, that's 5h 14m "screen on" time, too. 5.3 inch LTE device with those battery stats - yea, I'm happy. If your expectations are any higher you're delusional. 100% stock.

I want to select 14-16, but in this poll are you implying that at 16 hours I need to hit the charger or turn it off? This is rather subjective because I have a few friends that consider a phone "dead" the minute it hits 30%. Hell even the custom power saving profile is defaulted to kick in at 30%.
16 hours from my workday wake up time is only 11PM. I'd like to think if I decide to go out on the weekends I don't need to worry about charging up unless I've been using the phone like crazy throughout the day.
So we are at 10-12 hours so far in the poll. I hope we can get more input.
It's just $25 for TWO (semi-decent) spare batteries and a charger on Amazon... so no worries!
That said, the first few days with this phone have been rough! I've been using it so damn much that I have to plug it in at just 6 or 7pm when I get home from work. (DOH!) I'm sure my usage will go down a little after the honeymoon period wears off (maybe?). Luckily, though, my spare batteries are set to arrive today... so it's all good!
I hear people smart phone last about 2 days before needing to charge. That's approximately 48 hours of phone staying on. Lets be realistic here. How many hours do you get if you browse/stream online videos for about 2 hours, play games for 2 hours and 20 minute of calling a couple of text and email. How long does your phone actually last? Mines last only 4/5 hours and this is using it very heavy. If your phone really do last more than a day, does that mean you barely touch it? This is just something I always have in mind.. I have the Optimus slider from virgin mobile, and the battery sucks but if I barely touch it, I can get about maybe 11 hours.. Lol, I know that's laughable.
3-4 days usually i am not a heavy user ,moderate browsing, calling and texting on the heavyish side, i don't play games or stream videos
battery capacity is very good at 3500 mAh and the phone is excellent in terms of draining battery on standby, barely anything.
it could probably go to 5th day if i cared to use Eco mode (battery saving mode) but i always charge the pone when it falls bellow 40%
all in all i am happy with it + this is my first smartphone ever so i think its good compared to flip phones i used in the past.
Hello.I use this masterpiece about a year now with really heavy usage.I almost charge it every day,or about 5 times a week the less..In the first 10 months with KITKAT i had always about 10-11 SOT hours. After 10th month also with kitkat,SOT reduced to 9-10 hours. At this point i updated to lollipop cause a certain mod that wasnt supported from kitkat. The SOT about 1 month remained same as kitkat. And finally the last month i notice that SOT has reduced to 7-8 hours. Also to mention that after 8th month the battery has veeery sudden drop from 16 to 8%.It drains about 1%/minute!From 8% and bellow it drains much more smoothly compared to 16%—8%,but not as smooth as 100%—16%.Is there any way to calibrate battery or to find out if is battery issue?
Thanks for possible help.

For starters, if there was a 8 hour reduction in SOT in the course of a month, something must have happened. Either the way the device is being used, or the apps you are running. No two ways around it. Also, if it drops 1% every minute your battery has either become defect (dropped the device lately?) or again, something is draining it.
There are apps you can download to check what drains the battery and hog memory etc. Don't know their names, so Google it. Otherwise, I would do a back up and then do a factory wipe. Test the factory wipe for a day or two without restoring and check if the battery drain remains the same. If not, there is indeed something you are running that is causing it.
Lastly, our Li-Ion batteries lose their capacity over time. SOT will significantly reduce over 15 months or so, depending on usage maybe earlier. If I leave my screen off the entire day I lose around 15- 20%, if I use it I get maybe 4 to 5 hours playing games with my Bluetooth headset connected and WiFi/LTE. If I watch movies it's a bit less. Just how it is.
thanks dude.i loose 1% only between 16%-8% very weird..no i never dropped it and i notice that battery drops the same way either when is just formatted or not..if i leave it allday with screen off i loose just about 2%...
Once in a while, when your significant other yells at you, you might use your phone a bit less. Rate this thread to express how the LG G6's battery performs under light use. A higher rating indicates that the device goes a long time when you're using the phone sparingly: no gaming or video/audio streaming, light web browsing, some calling and texts, etc.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
With light use my battery barely moves.
My first day of real life use I had 70% remaining, that was with social media, 9 hours of work and 14 hours off the charger
are you guys leaving the always on display off? ive had mine for a few days coming from a pixel and this battery hasnt impressed me much. But granted ive had the always on, on.
I've turned mine off since day one

Honestly I think the AOD barely effects it. I have AOD on and after being off the charger for 3 hours with light use, a few texts and checking email, I've only gone down 1%.
HI All,
I have had my G6 since this Friday that pasted. I haven't had a phone this good for a long time. I previous owned a LG V10 and this phone just out performs all my other phones. Its fast has a battery life that i have very pleased with. So far I have played games most of the day and i make it home with about 20%. If i charge my phone while driving I have about 60% when i get home. I purchased Three anker USB C cables, they seem good but its a very snug fit.
I also have yoo tech glass on the phone which was a awesome deal.
I am using Spigen LG g6 Tough Armor its very small but strong.
sometimes on los 14.1 fastcharge isn't working. Else super fast.
endurance with los could be better
What is the longest standby time anyone has got from a full charge with light use? My max is just over 47 hours with very little use but I have some standby drain issues. Has anyone had this phone off the charger for 72 hours or more?
On light use honestly i get 6-8h of SoT and yeah i am not kiding.
Easily lasts me the whole day, although the drain can be variable even with seemingly the same usage pattern. But even under the worst scenario I am left at the end of a day with 30-40% left. So I charge every night-- what else can you ask for?
I'm easily getting 7:30am to 9pm with light to moderate use throughout the day and have 30% left.
With my daily moderate-to-heavy usage, I'm consistently getting at least 4-5 hours SoT with always-on display enabled and my brightness around 50%. Gets me through the day just fine. I usually get home with 20-30% remaining. If I use my device lightly, I could probably get at least 5-6 hours SoT.
I made it to 6hrs SoT today. I had music playing from Spotify in the background the entire day.
