to get smart relay activated properly you must first turn on the mobile data connection on your phone then the mobile data connection on your watch. if the gear s has auto mobile data defaulted, in 60 seconds you will not have to activate it manually.
This method is to get the calls forwarded. Again, to establish the remote connection both phone and watch mobile data connections must be established independently. If youre connected to wifi the remote connection will not work.
Once call forwarding or remote connection has been established it is not necessary to keep the mobile data connections on either the phone or watch. The remote setup has been worked out through your cellular provider and there isn't a need to keep data on if you don't need them.
This must be done every time to get it working. I'm using both a tmobile bought gear S and note 4. It all works brilliantly.
I can make calls, but I can not use the data connection.
APN is correct.
Sim is working fine in other mobile phones.
No 'fly' or 'energie saving' mode.
What else could cause this trouble with trueSmart+?
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S9+ for a couple of weeks now and noticed a strange issue.
Whenever I'm connected to my service providers 4G LTE network and use mobile data, I can see mobile data along with the mobile network get disconnected and reconnect quite frequently. As in, I can see the mobile signal indicator turn to no signal and then back on again.
It seems to occur when there is a burst of data communicating through the connection. i.e. start of a Youtube video playback, doing a speed test etc. It's quite frequent and annoying.
So far I've tried the following to no avail:
- Network reset
- Using a different SIM card
- Booting the phone in safe mode
Pretty sure it's not a network provider issue because my wife uses the exact same phone with exact same firmware and hers does not have this symptom.
Any help is appreciated.
P.S. - I have not seen the issue when connected to WiFi on the HSPA+ network of the provider. Seems to occur only on 4G LTE.
I tried the following additional scenario:
I put two sims;
SIM 1 for calls and text on 3G/2G auto connect
SIM2 for data on LTE/3G/2G auto connect mode.
SIM2 connects to 4G. Whenever there is a sudden burst of data on it, mobile networks on both SIMS disconnect and reconnect.
Hi!
I started having problems with sending/receiving MMSes after upgrading my HTC U11 to Android 9 a few days ago.
The problem disappears when I turn mobile data on.
My mobile operator uses its own transmitters but also uses networks of three other operators to provide services in areas where they have no coverage.
That's why I always have National Roaming active in my settings. If I have a weak signal, I can switch to a different operator (with whom my MNO has an agreement).
For many years using different Android versions and different HTC devices I could use national roaming without having to turn mobile data on.
I turned the mobile data on only when I had no access to Wi-Fi and wanted to connect to the internet.
And now if mobile data is off I can only send/receive MMSes while connected to my home network/operator. Whenever my phone switches to a different operator, I am unable to send or receive any MMS and I have to turn mobile data on.
Looks like national roaming was previously separated (worked independently) from mobile data and now it works only when mobile data is on.
Do you think it's related to the new Android version itself, or maybe to its interaction with a specific phone model?
Best regards,
Matt
My network data can connect to 4g so phone calls and MMS, but the symbol shows no data, yet when I load webpages there is data transmitting. When on wifi the symbol changes to service data enabled, it seems to have glitched when off wifi. Have done hard reset of mobile data, used another Sim and my Sim works fine in other phones, only this Sim in my phone (some sort of Sim setting error?) How can I reset this? There is no data limits on the Sim, but it seems like it's incorrectly set, running pixelexperience
