Has V10 generalized problem with Boot Loop as G4? - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

There is a big anguish of the Lg V10 owners that V10 has the same boot loop problem as G4. There are some events (around net) that make this anguish bigger and bigger. Can we have a general real view for this theme?
I have had this phone since March and I have never noticed any problem. I am with Android – Marshmallow. Let us know if you had boot loop problem with your phone.
Let's hope that they are individual events and V10 will not appears the big boot loop problem as G4 has.

Seems to be an AT&T centric issue, I havent had a boot loop problem and I've owned my phone since Dec 2015. T-Mobile user here.
The boot loop issue seems weird because it would seem people experiencing this issue all at the same time. Like it's a date issue or server issue from AT&T.

I noticed that. How can effect the AT&T or other server my phone and has bootloop;

It seems to be a rumor only, some samsung fans might be posting such things on forums. Now when V20 is about to launch, such rumors are being spread. M using Tmobile H901 (Manufactured Oct 2015) and it is working perfectly fine on MM.

No boot loops here, I am sure it is the competition trying to hurt LG

The only problem I had, was that my V10 that I bought on launch day, microphone became very muffled. I Exchange it about 2 months ago, but no boot loop issue at all. My replacement is working great also!

There is a thread here where some owners post that their V10 had bootloop issues, but I believe that they are few cases according the sales of appliance, maybe I'm wrong. We will see...

I live in Switzerland (my provider is Sunrise, I bought the phone from a swiss online retailer called digitec, so there should be no ties to AT&T) and after doing a lot of research on potential audiophile phones I've decided to buy an LG V10 in May this year, and I dont regret doing it so far, it's a great device.
However about 2 weeks after I bought the phone a colleague of mine broke the screen by accident and I had to send the phone in and pay for it to get repaired. After they returned it to me I had something that appeared to be very similar to what you call a "boot loop" here in this thread. The phone constantly restarted on its own, in different intervals. I tried everything without success, but then after about 2 days (I had removed the battery for the whole night, don't know if this is relevant but I'll mention it anyway) when I was at a point where I was going to call the LG support helpline, I tried doing a hard reset one last time, and don't ask me why but the phone has not been in a boot loop since (that was about 1 or 2 weeks ago). All I did was hard reset the phone and install every software Update available. Just thought I'd mention this here because I am really wondering what caused this and I'm really hoping that I wont be encountering this issue again since I do not really know how I fixed it.

the ATT model H900

Back in July my VS990 developed the bootloop issue. Sent to Verizon for warranty replacement. the 1st replacement had many issues that led to them sending a 2nd replacement unit. All good so far.

Bootloop
My phone from T-Mopile overheated and would not boot fully. I have long since had it replaced but no issues with the new device so far.

At least it doesnt explode like the Samsung Note 7

Head over to r/lgv10 on Reddit and you'll see dozends of reports in the sticky (including me) with my H901 (tmobile). Now I am on a H960A, but missing the missing 32GB.

I woke up this morning and grabbed my LG V10. Opened an app, then it froze, no response from any soft or hard buttons for about a minute, so I pulled the battery. Now I am the proud owner of a boot looping brick. ATT H900. It should still be under warranty, so I am going to try the ATT store this morning before class.

So I sent my bootlooped V10 H900 to LG and it says they replaced the main board. Hopefully that fixes the problem once and for all.

LG V10 just went into a boot loop

Last year I had the LG G4 phone which went into a boot loop. The phone rebooted while in use and would never come back on. I had it replaced but was given a refurbished phone. About a month later, in late January 2016, I was able to upgrade to the LG V10. I went with LG again even though I had the previous problems as I believed it was not something I'd run into again.
Unfortunately, that is not the case. Less than a year after purchasing my LG V10 it just went into a boot loop. Same exact situation... while using the phone the screen locked up, turned off, and now all I get is the LG startup screen which flashes off and back on every so often. I just chatted with Verizon and they confirmed this is a known issue with the LG V10.
So now in less than a year I am not only without a phone but also lost access to data on it. Thankfully this time I made regular backups of my phone in case this type of problem happened again. I'm sure Verizon will swap this phone with another refurbished device but this will be my last LG phone. My fault for trying to stick with them after the last problem. I won't make that mistake again.
According to Verizon they are familiar with this issue and claimed it was possibly related to a recent system update. My phone updated about a month ago but nothing else changed recently. I'll be back at Verizon in the morning to get them to process a replacement. Now the problem is I have a Google Pixel on order which I was going to trade-in this V10 for. I wonder what trouble this will cause now with that trade-in. The refurbished V10 I most likely will receive should still qualify for the trade-in but I'll have to see what Verizon says in the morning.

I have heard it's related to a hardware issue and not a software issue. However, the software IS seriously out of date.

I've just been through the bootloop/Verizon replacement situation also. They will send a refurb, it is unlikely it's a software issue however.
I was rooted on 5.1.1 v 11b when my V10 looped. So I had literally never updated my phone.

bootloop ?

so my phone just randomly powerd off i pulled the battery and tried to restart it. it went to lg logo and then into the device can not be checked for corruption (im using Tmobile-LGV10_flash_Root_Stock_MM_6_0 from https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/general/step-step-guide-rooting-lg-v10-using-t3382631 and i am not blaming anyone) now some times it does not power on at all. i cant get into adb nor fastboot. i have tried to soft reset and hard reset but it wont do anything.
any advise into getting my phone running again?
I have contacted LG got an rma from them hopefully the "can't check for corruption" does not void the warranty if I have one. I bought it in 12-2015 and on LG website they say I have a 1 year warranty. Any idea how I can make the phone not show "can't check for corruption"?

I've heard they don't really care too much if you unlock the bootloader. I would be more concerned about the 2 months after the year warranty thing.
Hopefully because they know about their motherboards being proned to bootloops, they'll fix it for you regardless.
I bought a bootlooping V10 a couple week ago for around $100 w/ no original proof of purchase. Still decided to take a chance and send it in. Got my repaired phone back from them within a week.

Do you mind me asking what you uploaded for the proof of purchase? They require something to be uploaded for that field on the repair request website. Thank you!
The freezing or heating is not nonsense. I saw it on a YouTube video and tried it myself. I put my phone in a Ziploc bag and squeezed all the air out to minimize any moisture damage, and froze it for six hours. It was able to boot up and stay on for three hours so I was able to transfer all of my data and files to my micro SD card. I have read that LG will honor the warranty beyond the stated length of time for this issue but your mileage may vary. What I am wondering is if anyone can expect any kind of compensation from LG? I have had two of my phones go through the boot loop issue, and currently all LG is saying is that if I have anything wrong with my 3rd phone, they will fix it. I find that unacceptable due to the time and aggravation spent dealing with a known product defect.

I'm almost positive I didn't submit any proof of purchase with my claim.
... yeah, I just checked, it is not a required field.
Obviously YMMV and I could have just gotten lucky, though I doubt it and I imagine this to be more of a under the table recall.

Multiple Personality V10 -

tl;dr: H962 thinks it's a H961N and doesn't want to update. How to fix?
A couple of months ago my V10 bootlooped. It was a H962 purchased from a grey reseller meaning LG in Australia (where I am) and LG in Taiwan (where the phone was from) both vehemently refused to service the phone. All this was within 6 months of purchasing the phone. This wasn't too surprising, however strangely enough, the grey seller agreed to fix the phone (after constant harassment on my behalf). As the phone was dead, I figured it was worth risking money on postage so I sent it off and after several months (and after more harassment by me) I finally got it back, fixed.
A few months passed and I noticed it wasn't receiving any updates so I dived into the settings and realised that something fishy was going on - the phone reported it was now a H961N - keep in mind I purchased a H962 to begin with.
The software thinks it's H961N however all the branding on the back of the phone says H962. I'd assume they took the guts of a H961N and stuck it into my phone but LG Bridge reports it as a H962 when I try to update (although it fails).
Updating using the update centre does nothing.
Updating using LG Bridge comes up with errors.
Updating using LGUP comes up with errors.
I've tried various versions of KDZ & TOT for both models using various methods and they all spit out errors.
Attempted on both a Windows 10 machine and a macOS machine.
All the latest drivers and software downloaded from LG.
I've tried yelling at the computer, phone and neighbour's cat and nothing works.
(Oh, the reseller refuses to answer any of my emails. Legally they don't need to and they didn't even have to fix the phone to begin with.)
Android security patch level is June 2016 which has me paranoid. Is Russia now watching me eat pizza in bed in my underwear? Are they recording my every move? Does the Kremlin judge my choice of pineapple on aforementioned pizza? I'd like to update to the lastest version possible to help stop all of this... but how?
Unrelated note, thanks to this phone I am no longer a fan of LG. This is the second boot-looped phone I've had and I've had to replace the rear lens cover for getting scratched so easily, replace the speakers for blowing up after a drop from a table onto wood floor (aren't these supposed to be tough) and the phone stopped vibrating (easy fix but I can't be bothered buying the parts as they aren't locally available). I should retire the phone however it's still a tough little beast so I'll keep on going until it refuses to stay alive.
Your phone is refurbished my friend.... Any wrong update and you will get into a bootloop
Problem fixed after some more lengthy digging.
I refused to accept the unhelpful "it's refurbished so it can't be done" answer as it made no sense given the fact that it wasn't on original firmware, suggesting an upgrade was performed prior to it being returned.
For those people in the future wondering, evidently there are 3 versions of H961N (I was under the impression there were 2). The phone wasn't returning the proper version code. Updated with the proper kdz and everything is fine. It still reports it is both H962 and H961N and likely won't ever auto-update.

My Moto 360 2nd gen keeps failing

Repost- I put this on the Gen 1 forum not knowing there was a Gen 2 forum. Sorry if this is a repeat.
Has anyone else had problems with their 2nd Gen Moto 360? I bought my watch in March of 2016 and tomorrow (November 28, 2017) I will be receiving my 8th replacement (9th piece of HW). I have had the screen go black and never come back on, I have had the battery fail and the watch dies after half a day, I have had the screen fail and show distorted images and my final failure was the metal watch band would not lock after I had it for 7 days (my fastest return to date). I am not rough on my watches, in fact most of them don't have a single scratch on them when I send them back. My concern is that I am past the 1 year since purchase, and I get a 90 day warranty with each new piece of HW. I am worried that this next watch will fail on day 91 and I'll be stuck with dead HW. I also don't want to have to call Moto support and waste 30+ minutes explaining the problem. I have tried to get Motorola to take the watch back but they won't. For the last several months every time I have called tech support (when the watch has broken) I have asked if I can return the watch to them and they send me a different watch each time. I love the watch but hate the reliability. Does anyone know who I can contact at Motorola to get a this resolved?
I am open to suggestions.
My 42mm watch stopped responding 2 months ago, roughly when it went out of warranty. So, in my case the quality of this device is really ****ty. Especially that it seems to be a battery issue, but there is no way to easily replace the battery.

I had that happen once. I called the Moto (US) support line and was rejected. I then went online to every Moto support center in the world and explained what had happened. In my case I think the screen went black (again). By pinging every place out there I finally found one center that was willing to replace my watch. I think part of this was that I had had the watch fail so many times already, I was on hardware number 5 at that time. Ever since then I have not had a watch last through the warranty of 90 days. I am now on Hardware number 9. I know this thing will break again, will it break on day 91, I don't know. I now keep a reminder in my calendar to warn me when I get close to 90 days. I've never come close to the 90 days since then.
My advise is to contact every place out there. Make some noise. There has to be someone at Moto that doesn't want their name attached to negative reviews who will listen. That is what I intend to do in the hopes that Moto will take my watch back.
Good luck.

Thanks for your advice but expect UK (original country of order) and Greece (my country), how can I contact other countries?
They will redirect me to UK directly.
And UK made it clear since my first contact to them that they cannot help, since I live in another country.

I Googled Motorola service centers then sent an email to all of the places I found. One of them was able to go into their system and override the out of warranty notice and supply a new watch for me.

Got in contact with the UK support and they asked me to send back the watch to them for check.
The thing is that for some reason, I can't send it right away to them.
Is required to send it to someone in UK and this person to send it to them. Bit of hassle, if you ask me.

Well at least they are doing something. I bet if you explain the situation they will find a way to help. If I was in the UK I would offer to help.
My watch just broke again. The screen went black and is not recoverable. I'm going to send it back again. I've had this latest one for about a month. This will be my 10th watch.
Finally a happy end to my story!
After all these months of waiting, Motorola/Lenovo UK decided and repaired my watch, without even a receipt!!
They replaced the motherboard and sent it back!
Super excited! [emoji16][emoji16]

Just picked one up to replace my soon to be retired V8 Pro. Went to go and update to try and get Oreo on it and getting error message that phone is not registered yet. I have seen several threads around but nothing saying how to resolve it. AT&T has the imei updated and phone is otherwise working fine.
I bought two of these on clearance from Walmart. One updates just fine, the other has this issue. I searched for a long time and can't find anything. The one with the issue was also unable to register for the LG 2 year promise warranty, it's like LG made phones and never recorded their IMEIs. I emailed the warranty support my proof of purchase and they added it to their system but I still can't update. KDZs seem to be the only way to update these phones. LG really isn't instilling confidence in me, even with their 2-year promise. I basically only buy LG devices on clearance because of all the issues they have.

Best description I've read. I sent my IMEI in with a brand new box as proof and they told me it's not in their database. What the heck?
