Cell signal lost after rooting Verizon Note 4 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, please forgive me if this is posted in the wrong area but this is my first time coming here for help!
I have a Verizon Note 4 SM-N910V running Android 5.1.1. I have rooted phones in the past and followed the guide at www-galaxynote4root-com (I can't post actual links yet) to complete the process for this phone. Everything worked fine, however upon reboot my phone refused to search for cell signal and displayed a cross-out over where the reception indicator would normally be. It also said "kernel is not seandroid enforcing" on the boot up screen but I'm not sure that this is an actual problem, I just thought it might be of importance.
Below is a list of the files I flashed onto my device. I used the adb devices bootloader work around and the stock firmware with the TWRP and oscar kernel. Could a clearance of cache partition have resolved the issue? Everything worked fine except for the signal. I panicked and flashed it back to stock 5.1.1. Any help is extremely appreciated, this has been frustrating me for weeks now... THANKS!!!!

[Q] GT-I9305 has multiple issues

My Galaxy S3 GT-I9305 LTE was running Liquid Smooth 2.37. Recently I lost notification and phone ring sounds and now I have lost baseband and I have no cell signal.
In the phone's 'about' section the baseband field is empty. Android version showing is 4.3.
I'm not quite sure what I did wrong, first to try and get back the sounds and then baseband, I have been playing around with various custom and stock ROMS and kernals to get full functionality back.
I've read tons of help posts but nothing works.
Here's a few of the things I've tried with results in brackets, used CWM recovery to restore working backup (failed 'unsupported file' message),
reflashed kernals (neither Boeffla nor yank555 have worked, wipe/data restore in CWM (it still takes me back to 4.3 with no baseband).
I thought I'd re-flash back to the phone's original stock ROM using Kies, but the weird thing is Kies doesn't restore, it upgrades to the latest 4.3 ROM which fails to restore baseband.
I wanted to send the phone back to the 4.1.2 it came with or was it an earlier ROM? I can't remember as I didn't note it down, I bought the phone second hand, it arrived loaded with a stock ROM for Australia's Optus network. I promptly rooted and flashed the phone to Liquid Smooth and the phone ran fine for months on the 2 Degrees Network in New Zealand.
Anyway, I must have tried reflashing a dozen stock roms I've found online using Odin. Some of them partially work, I get sound back, (it seems only the 4.3 ones work, with the german I9305XXUEMKC reliably loading - it even gives me a NZ english install option) but don't restore the baseband
. All the ones I've found for Optus are rejected, I get the 'unsupported device' or status 7 error in Odin.
So I decided to flash one that works, install cwm, root the phone and try installing different baseband kernals to fix the (probably corrupt) efs.
But I'm going round in circles trying to root the phone. Using CWM, supersu shows as successfully installed, but when I boot into the OS root checker shows my phone is not rooted. Knox seems to obstruct every attempt I make to disable it as well. I keep getting these 'knox stopped etc...from working messages'.
I'm sorry if my description is a bit confusing, I'm happy to clarify anything.
I'm at my wits end. I want to try everything before I have to ship the phone off to a repairer who may charge me hundreds of dollars to fix the phone.
This is I9300 not I9305 Q&A
Use the report button and ask a mod to move to the correct forum .
I can offer no help as i fail to understand the post .
As said before you are in wrong place and are not giving us a clear question to answer. If its a root problem there are fixes for it. Status 7 error is discussed in many threads. Flashing MG4 modem fixes efs problem. Downgrading causes problem. Learn to search before making a thread.

(gp4) GPS not working after firmware updates

not sure if this is the wrong place to post this.
i was recently messing with roms on my yp-g1 galaxy player 4, installed a custom rom that messed up,
o ,
followed this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531850
I re installed the stock recovery images but I can no longer get the gps to acquire signal.
after this failed i installed steves kernel , and updated it to use the carbon rom firmware ,
But i still cant get the gps to get a signal
i read that this is a bug after you update firmwares,
but i am not sure where to get a radio firmware , and i already tried to restore to the factory firmwares and that didnt seem to have any effect..
help would be appreciated , i primarily use this device for geocaching , so without a gps signal its a brick for me...

you need to go back to absolute zero. follow the instructions in this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531850 to the letter, being sure to wipe the cache when it says to. also, make sure you install the proper stock rom (international or usa, which ever one is appropriate for your device, if you dont know, look at the top of the fourm i directed you to)
after that, try reflashing again, following the instructions to the letter. usually when these issues happen, it is because of something stupid like a cache not being wiped when it should.
good luck
last night i broke down and trashed out carbon , Witch I liked very much (after having it on for only 4 hours),
Dispite not being able to install Gapps no matter what version I used.:silly:
Repartioned twice, as well as wrote the usa firmware back 3 times ( after fudging /mount multiple times selecting a incorrect firmware file).
and put it back to pure stock. GPS still didnt work.
left gps status app running for the night on my desk just for kicks , After 5+ hours it managed to get a gps signal
crashed the gps app and then magicly the gps is working again.
i am probably too scared to go back to carbon or another firmware
What are the chances this would happen again if i re flashed back to carbon again ?
Don't know, but if I had to guess, unlikely if you follow the directions.

No data connection after flashing rom on Verizon Galaxy S4

Up until recently, I had an Aosp based rom that I installed via safestrap (since my bootloader is locked) and I have been pretty satisfied with it. Then I found The PhoeniX rom which promised to give many galaxy s5 features such as Ultra power saver mode and download booster.
So I flashed the rom via safestrap and then flashed the 9.4 update as the instructions said. I then flashed the verizon nc5 modem as I know you have to do that or wifi won't work. I then rebooted the phone...
When it booted up, I went through the setup with showed that my wifi was working. I then went to the ultra power saver mode and it worked without crashes. I then noticed that I had 3 bars of signal, but no data connection.
I went through these steps to try and fix it:
1.Rebooted the Phone
2. Went online and found the Apn settings for Verizon and put them in.
3. Got "advanced signal status" from the playstore and made sure that LTE/CMDA was enabled"
4. Flashed a .zip file containing my original buildprop, modem, and apnconfig.xml. (This broke data completely and I had no bars at all).
After this I just gave up and Restored a Nandroid backup from my original Aosp Rom.
Any help would greatly be appreciated as a fully working S5 rom for S4 would be AWESOME.

Signal problems after upgrading from stock rooted 4.4.2 kk 12b to Jasmine 9.1

Ok, i'm fairly new to this stuff but have successfully rooted and modified several of my devices over the years. I've been attempting to upgrade my vs985 to as close to stock 5.1.1 as i can and after much reading decided on jasmine. I was rooted on kk 4.4.2 12b and I had no problems. the main reason i wanted to upgrade was for compatibility with my android play car stereo. I didn't have twrp so first i downloaded flashify and quickboot then flashed twrp from flashify. All good so far. Next I downloaded jasmine 9.0 and 9.1 or at least i thought lol. As it so happened i mistakenly ended up with one of the files being just the kernel for 5.1.1 35b. Must of been a long day cause I mistakenly failed to backup my current system and proceeded wipe data, cache, dalvik, and flashed the kernel file. As you might imagine it didn't turn out very good. I was stuck in boot loop. Fortunately I could still get into download mode so I was able to use the lg flash tool and I brought it all the way back to 10b stock firmware. Then i grabbed stump and rooted and flashed twrp again. at some point i noticed my cell signal was all over the place, up, down , no signal and it roamed almost constantly if there was any signal. I've had this phone and service for well over a year and never had anything like this at all. I knew it was something I did. I checked the back cover to be sure it was on properly and had good connection with the antenna and all checked out. I decided to go ahead and do the upgrade to jasmine 9.1 hoping this would correct the issue. Well no dice. I did create a backup this time and proceeded to wipe everything and flash 9.0 reboot then wipe nothing and flash 9.1, i guess as you call it "dirty" then reboot again. Here is a link to where i got the zips and instructions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63305722&postcount=4842
in the instructions it says "RESET factory from within ROM (in Settings) - REQUIRED" . this step seemed strange as why would i do a factory reset on my device and erase everything i just did? would it not return it to original? I wasn't even sure if that was what he meant so i skipped that. After all was finished my signal was still all over the place could hardly make a call. it was bad. So once again I used lg flash tool and returned it to stock 4.4.2 10b, this time I wiped the data, cache, delvik and system. To my complete surprise the signal had not improved, in fact it could have actually been worse. As I said waaaaaay at the top of this post before i started all this i was running 4.4.2 12b, not sure how i ended up with 12b as i don't remember any upgrades after i downgraded to 10b and rooted. I froze the ota's with titanium backup but maybe 12b was pushed before i was able to freeze them. Anyway I couldn't figure out how to get 12b back now so I just flashed the 4.4.2 12b modem instead, This time I wiped cache and delvik before and after the flash then rebooted. This fixed my signal, everything seems normal now. no roaming and good signal. my software build however still shows 10b, but I guess thats correct since I only flashed the modem.
I really want 5.1.1 on my G3 but I need my signal too lol. can any one help me figure out how to get this done, can I flash the 12b modem on 5.1.1 this is where i got the file
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/development/rom-jasminerom-v1-0-t2904641 it is way down the bottom of the page. Sorry for the extremely long post i just wanted to make sure i didn't leave any details out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
thanks in advance
@Allen227
i dont know if jasmine flashes the L modem when you flash it, but if it doesnt, that would be why you are having issues after flashing the rom.
other than that, i dont know what would cause modem issues.

@Allen227
TL;DR but yes, JasmineROM flashes the appropriate modem. v9.0 only flashes the 24B modem because it doesn't contain a fuller set of the necessary partitions to allow the 35B modem to work by simply replacing the 24B modem with the 35B one.
You can flash the 35B bootstack after flashing JasmineROM 9.0 and the 9.1 update, or SkyDragon 6.x, but you must not be on the 35B bootstack before flashing either UNLESS you also flash the 35B bootstack again after flashing the ROM.
For reasons why: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=64064555
Edit: I meant to add, the 35B boostack contains the 35B modem and everything needed for it to work with JasmineROM 9.0/9.1.

In the future, please do not post the same thing in two different threads. This is against XDA's forum rules. Also, no reason to hijack an only partially related thread. I answered you in the JasmineROM thread.
Sorry for rule breaking, actually i did not aware of that. will avoid surely next time and thanks for reply. hats off to you.
Thanks for your help guys. Last night I figured out my phone was allowing me to send and receive text messages and make outgoing calls but was completely unable to receive any calls. Signal still terribly inconsistent, it would be on 4g one minute then you could watch as it dropped then no service. There'd be no service for 3 or 4 minutes then it would repeat that cycle again. If I switch from global to cdma/let in settings it would immediately regain full signal. Then the cycle of it dropping out would start again. I got to looking through about phone in settings and realized my imei number was missing, all zeros. I'm assuming that probably is the root of my problems. Not sure what to do, I doubt Verizon can help. Phones not insured or under warranty anymore. I haven't researched this New development on te forums yet it got to late last night. If anyone knows of this problem I could use your help. Thanks

If you go into the main Verizon G3 section or possibly the non-Verizon G3 section and use the search field to search for "IMEI" you'll probably find a helpful thread. I think it involves the QPST program on a Windows PC. You'll need the IMEI that it's supposed to have, so hopefully have that on the box or Verizon's website lists it.
Sometimes that's seemed to happen for some people when flashing TOTs, KDZs or ROMs. I've been lucky, it hasn't happened to me through all my flashing over the past year. Once you get it fixed, rooted and put TWRP on, you can back up the IMEI partition in TWRP. It's called something else in TWRP like EI or something - I forget.
Good luck!

I have spent sooooo many hours on this. The qpst apk wont see my phone I have done everything the tutorials suggest. the instructions are only applicable if there are no issues, in other words, in a perfect world. I'm sure its something stupid and very simple but I don't even have a place to start. First, its hard to believe this works on all OS's, but it doesn't state anywhere what it is and isn't compatible with. that info would be helpful. i have spent 4 hours a day for over a week trying to get this fixed and I'm no closer than i was when I started. Very frustrating. I'm still open to suggestions or any help that can be offered.

The mobile data dosen't work (no signal bars in the notification bar) What can i do?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300, i flashed on it a ROM (CyanogenMod 12.1 Lollipop 5.1.1) everything was working fine but the last few days my phone could open the Mobile Data but there's no signal bars like: H, H+, E ... and the internet dosen't work on it. i think that the problem is on the ROM (i think that is not stable) but everything was working correctly when i first install it. I've verified that there's no problem with the SIM in general beacause i put it in another phone and it worked nicely. So please can anybody help me to solve that and thank you of all my heart.

It happened to my phone yesterday and I got it back.
You have a corrupted EFS. Two ways of bringing it back.
1. If you had taken a backup of your system, restore and you will see the signal.
2. Restore your bricked device by loading the orginal system 4.3 from sammobile.com
Google for detailed instruction, you have youtube videos and many in the forum have commented how to unbrick.

Boot to recovery and look for errors.

Only choice is to restore to 4.3 from Sammobile. You can register as a free member and downmoad..takes a lot of time. But after you get it, flash that file using Odin. After you restart you will see the signal.
Then you have to begin the process all over again.
Root the phone, install TWRP, take backup to your sd card. Then take a stable ROM.
